When arrived one the young ladies was giving me a very hard time. What was so crazy to me is that, this someone suppose to be serving professional and giving customer service. She seem very refusal to take the dog because she was shy of three months. Now I went to the Petsmart in Farmingdale. I was never treated this way, I only had the dog two weeks and they offered this package to me. So why is it when I go to the next pet smart it's another story ? She's too young to get certain shots and she's really young. And she has a chip, next time I'm never coming here again as far as buying any shampooing etc. Please know when I called weeks they were on the phone taking to each other and I can over hear the conversation. For my Maltese, I enjoy coming here. The workers are always so nice and helpful. Anytime I need help, they tell me what's good for my dog or what they wouldn't recommend which I appreciate considering you would think they would do anything for me to buy something. I remember once my dog had a flea scare and we got him not too long ago before that so we didn't know what to do. We never been to Banfield but we went and the manager came and said they were closing but he took the time to look at our dog and what approach to take. As for grooming, we have someone different each time and depending on the person, our dog is groomed nicely. They have a variety of how low you want your dog cut. Overall, nice store! read more

PetSmart store # 1152 (Valley Stream, NY) claim to have a good pet grooming service but they do not. My wife and I setup appointments for our two pets (Allye and Bailey) for May 15, 2016 and the grooming service we got was awful. Our two pets were supposed to be taken care of by two different members (Joannie B and Angelica M). Their service was bad and even do we had appointments setup for two weeks in advance, our pets were push back to the point that it took 4 hours for the two girls to finish the bad job with our dogs. Mind that we gave our pets baths on May 14, 2015 so that they didn't have knotted hair. The girls told us that their hair was knotted and it was not. I personally took care of Bailey yesterday and it took me two hours to make him free of any knotted hair. The grooming that was done to him was awful and for Alley was also awful. Don't waste your time setting up an appointment. If you are buddy-buddy with the boss girl there you will be jump up even do you don't have an appointment. read more

When I asked about all the extra fees that they charged me they had so many excuses and not once did they ever budge to waiver some fees. Been coming to this location to groom both of my papillons for almost 10 years. I was informed today that they couldn't groom one of my dogs who was born with a hip problem. We have never been told this for the many years we have been coming here. It seemed like groomer JOANIE wanted an excuse to end her day short since the appointment was at 5. I would give zero stars if it was possible. The staff is very unprofessional and somewhat rude. The manager Ennio is no better. They said they price match, but I tried to purchase "frontline plus" from them, they had it for $15 MORE than Walmart, BJ's and Target and the manager refuse to price match. His attitude was very sarcastic and again unprofessional. Oh yeah, be careful when buying pet food here.....they are infested with pantry moths. Took me 3 yrs to completely irradicate from my house. NO STARS, PLACE SUX. This place is horrible. Last year, Brought my dog to be groomed. When I picked him up, they only "furminated" him when I asked him to be shaved down. And they charged me $60 for that no less. Now a year later, figured I give them another chance. This time, the Old woman in grooming was not only rude, but told her coworker, with me standing right there, "I'm not shaving him!" Not only a horrible unprofessional attitude but also horrible customer service skills. I walked out with my dog and told the manager on my way out. I don't recommend having your dog groomed here. My Shiba Inu was groomed here along with my Pomeranian in May. My Pomeranian was groomed to perfection by Angela, however my Shiba who was groomed by two other groomers came back to me with a cherry eye, both eyes blood shot and hair around his neck was missing, you could see his skin! However what really upset me the most is how they seemed to take no responsibility. I was told to pay and come back when I came back a manager and groomer was there, then groomer stated I don't know if he came in like this but my manager is here. As if the manager just happened to be there. No I am sorry but this may have happened during the grooming process. On top of that they charged an extra fee for having two groomers. Let me be clear my Shiba is no picnic to be groomed but I should have been called at least. Then I blew my top and asked for another manager as the one called by the grooming staff was new. This seasoned manager told me he would call the police on me, which I told him he should so I can report animal abuse. Even the groomers, yes even Angela who I really liked was unsympathetic. The manager never called the cops. I was able to get drops for my dogs eyes which of course Petsmart paid for but they did return my calls when I asked for a follow up to be paid for by Petsmart. I use to know the former manager Shawn, that's how often I use to go to Petsmart, the current managers are unprofessional. I have not stepped foot in this Petsmart again. I will be grooming my Shiba on my own and am on the search for a groomed that will allow me to be present when I get my Pomeranian groomed. DO NOT HAVE YOUR PET GROOMED AT THIS PETSMART and be wary of other Petsmarts. My Shibas eye cleared up and the lid popped back in place after a week. However my Shiba would not eat, Tail hung low and slept for two days after this incident, if you know about Shibas this is not normally especially since he is only 4. I was told that the lead used during grooming was placed too tight, in combination with my dog struggling to get out caused this missing hair around his neck and the blood pressure in his eye to get extremely high causing the popped blood vessels and the lid to pop out of place. read more

EXTREMELY unprofessional!!! If I could give this place a 0 star, I would. Being that this PetSmart is close to my house it is a place I go to often to get my pets toys and treats and etc... After the experience I had today, I will NO LONGER come to this location. I have brought my dogs here a couple of times for grooming as well. Now I made an appointment DAYS in advance, I get a call the day of saying that two of the groomers will be out and I need to reschedule one of the dogs, okay. Now they verbally told me I would get a 10% off for the inconvenience. Ok I make an appointment for two days later to bring one of my dogs in. They said she will be done in 3-4 hours, mind you my appointment is at 12:30... So I should get my dog around 3 or 4.... right? NO. I called at 4:30 now expecting them to have my dog ready. They told me she would be ready at 6, so when I went there at 6 o'clock, they still hadn't even started on her. I asked how much longer they'd take and they said another 30 mins. We ended up waiting an additional 45 minutes. My poor dog basically worked the whole damn shift with them while stuck in a cage the whole day. 6 hours later and still NOT ready??!!! Side note.(If you don't have time, don't overbook; our dogs are already away from us for hours, don't make them suffer in a cage for even longer than they should. And on top of that the employees were extremely rude and unapologetic when I came to pick my dog up. Upon getting there also, when we told them about the 10% they REFUSED to give honor it. They went back on THEIR word. I am extremely disappointed in PetSmart and how unprofessional their employees behaved today. Happy at first, deceived and UNHAPPY EX CUSTOMER....When we first brought our rescue Great Dane to Pet Smart we were truly happy with the service and attention both the staff and Banfield gave us. We frequent the store almost once a week and because our pup is a growing dog that requires extra care lots of food we usually spent $100 or more each time we shop. On our previous trip to the grooming department (which was not our first) we got a call after we dropped off our dog and were told we would be charged an extra $25 because our dog doesn't like to be crated and they will have to charge us for express service, we were shocked to say the least. Why weren't we informed when we checked in that our dog required special service? Not only that but they made a negative note in his file so now NO PETSMART grooming will take him! They've essentially black listed our puppy from their facilities because they don't know how to handle a large bread dog. VERY unprofessional. We know of a family who had their dogs eye cut in that grooming department. My dog isn't the problem, your staff is! Never shopping there again! read more

I came in when I had a coupon to get a free bag of dog food and when the nice young lady punched in my phone number it didn't work. She called over I guess her manager a tall chubbier white male came by and eventually helped it go through. My mother was with me and she also has a pet perks account and was going to get one using the same coupon (all you need is a different account. It doesn't matter if it's the same coupon. I know this cause my friend did the same the day before and it went through). He tells me that that I can't use the same coupon so I tell him she can pull it up on her own phone and he says to me "only one per customer. I'm not even supposed to do this". Like what? Bullshit. First of all we're not one person and we even have two separate accounts. Second of all yes, you are supposed to do this cause it doesn't say anywhere on the coupon certain places are excluded. Do NOT go here for grooming your dog! I brought my dog in at 10:30AM. I was promised 3 hours, I went to the groomer's station at 3, and was told they weren't sure if the dog was done, that the bather is on break and she should be back in 20 minutes. So I came back in 20 minutes, and they said the dog should be ready soon. Waited another 10 minutes, I came back and the bather was FINALLY there, and I asked for my dog, and the bather was like "That was MY dog?" I was appalled!!! The dog had not even been started yet!!! 5 HOURS!!! So they asked that I wait a couple more minutes. The straw that broke the camel's back was when someone that came in WAY after me with 3 dogs, was leaving before me! I complained something had to be done, there's no way I should pay full price for this, they say I will get 10% off on my next visit. Really??? You think after this I would go back??? I wouldn't budge, and they finally gave me 15% off, but after much discussion. The manager was standing up for their grooming team, I understand the loyalty, but to call them top-notch, that just iced the cake! All in all, I will NEVER go back, and I think people should not walk, but RUN away from the groomer's, well just one, There's an older black woman, and a guy groomer who pay full attention to their clients, but the blonde young girl is HORRENDOUS!!! read more

i am being generous for giving this 2 stars only because they usually have the aquarium products i use at a reasonable price. My experience is with the fish department. The employees are very smart if you get some one to help you. There tanks are clear so it looks like they take good care of the fish but when i have been there the tanks always have dead fish in them. The reason for low stars is because the first time i bought fish from here i had no idea what ick was. I thought it was normal for fish to be covered in white spots. Well, my whole tank was killed because of this. Next was last week when after 2 years i bough fish from them. Well, i did not notice the fish had little white spots on them until 5 min after i put them in my tank. Yes, my fish tank was not infested with ick but i cured it with no fish casualties. I cannot understand why a store sells fish that are sick and i hope they start taking better care of their fish. read more
