We are very grateful for the training of our toy poodle. She is an obedient little sweetheart now. The result exceeded our expectations ! Thank you so much, Danny!

Just let me sit a minute!

We board our boxer and pug here. We also just had our nervous boxer trained. He is much better now. I would recommend this place.

I should have written this review sooner. I got my Doberman Pinscher at 8 weeks old in September 2015 and started to train train train. I had a good friend who told me -"You need to go to my guy - Danny". I said NO WAY was I paying for training I could do myself. WELL, 4 months later, January 2016, I realized the progress I had made was not enough, and working full time made it very hard to follow through on the training. I wanted a dog that behaved off-leash and followed commands, and I decided to go for it. Admittedly, without the stunning 5star review from my friend I might have overlooked this place. It was not close to my home, from the outside looks like a neighborhood pet place, nothing special. ONE yelp review?!?!? But my friends Mastiff was trained perfectly and off-leash, so I was able to dive in with only a little apprehension. My neighbor has a cream golden retriever one month older than my girl and we signed up together. (Doggie carpool!) I am so glad I did! It is family run and they have decades of experience. They have trained circus dogs, security dogs, you name it. I went in for the basic obedience and Danny & his family are like family now. They offer to board your dog during training or you can choose the daycare option. They "train" your dog all day 1on1, with play, bathroom and rest periods in between. I was stunned at first when he told me at the end my dog will not only know her commands, but be able to STAY IN PLACE regardless of distractions (including food and cats). Well, she does! Granted, their are two levels of training, first the dog, second the owner. It is the owner's responsibility to keep the training enforced and practice and repeat. If I slack off, I know what I have to do to brush up. As they are like family to all their customers I also know I can always stop in for a free reminder session. My 80lb Doberman can walk off leash anywhere, she left that program with every bit of training they promised and more. I can't say enough good things about these people. If you need more proof, you are welcome to meet my baby! Everywhere we go (and we get around) people are so impressed at how well behaved she is. She can roam 1/2 block ahead of me and if I give her the command to stop, sit, or come, she does. She NEVER ever would run in the street again which was a major concern for me as I wanted her to get in and out of the car off leash. Peace of mind never came so cheap!

They groomed my puppy horribly. He had a full head of hair and they chopped it off very uneven. I do NOT recommend this place at all!!!!!!!!

We accomplished everything I ever wanted from dog training. From the moment that I met James, I knew we were in good hands. He was patient and my pup listened to him 100%, from day one! Besides nicely walking alongside of me, he also doesn't jump on people or counters anymore. He taught Maxx several other things like stay in a spot, and walk away. That I think we need a bit more practice, but I know Maxx will ace it one day. James did training both inside and outside the house. I also told James, that I will continue from time to time to call him for refresher classes or to work on the stay in one spot. I am sure there are more things that Maxx can learn and James is the best person to teach him. James is also very accommodating to your schedule. He makes it work all the time. Thank you for everything James. You are truly the best! Your friends, The Diehl Family and Maxx

What a terrible grooming experience! If I could give zero stars, I would! I had an appointment…read morescheduled for about a week and received a call the day before the scheduled appointment saying that the groomer my dog was scheduled with, which I selected any groomer as this is not my regular grooming location, had called out and they could not accommodate the grooming appointment. They asked if I can reschedule for another day that weekend after which I said I could not as we were traveling and needed her groomed before we left. They then rescheduled her for the day after her originally scheduled appointment. The day of the grooming was a nightmare. She had a 3pm appointment. We called to see if we could drop her off a little before the appointment because we had to be somewhere else at the same time and was told yes. My husband got there 20 mins before the appointment and waiting for 20 mins for the groomer to come to the front. The groomer never arrived and he had to leave. He went back shortly after 3pm as was greeted with a long line. After waiting in line for over 10 mins, he finally made it to the front and was scolded for being late. My husband told them he was waiting in line and was told that they would check the camera, which I thought was extremely rude. I received a phone call from one of the groomers 15 or so mins later saying he had taken over the grooming appointment, not the one my husband spoke with at drop off, and wanted to go over the hair cut. We asked for a long cut and he said she was a little matted and would need to cut it a little shorter than a long cut. We said it was ok because we've experience this before with her normal groomer, a different Petco location, and figured she has a lot of hair and it wouldn't be too short. We were also informed the appointment would take 3-4 hours. By 7pm we still hadn't heard from anyone. We thought to give them time as they seemed really busy that day and our regular groomer usually calls if they were running behind. We called 7:45pm only to be told that our dog had been ready, they were closing at 8pm, and that I had been called several time. I received not one call since speaking with the groomer around 3pm. My husband goes to pick up our dog and she was completely shaved! I was furious when he came home. This was completely unacceptable and unnecessary. We will NEVER return here for grooming! Thankfully it's just hair that will grow back but it's still cold out and for my dog to be practically bald is devastating, especially since she is meeting family for the first time.

I never had a pet growing up and was completely lost when we rescued Stormie in November 2019. I researched dog trainers near Farmingdale and everywhere I looked I saw a recommendation for Sublime K9. Katie arranged to come at the end of November for an initial consultation to get to know us, Stormie and how many lessons we would need to purchase. Katie worked with us for scheduling due to having a sometimes unpredictable schedules. Katie would come for hour lessons where she modeled and demonstrated the command she wanted us to perform then would allow me and my boyfriend to take turns working with Stormie through that command. It was helpful because she would pinpoint things we were to correct as we were training and how to advance or regress the command. The training sessions were for us to be educated on how to train our dog because in the end of the day, she would be with us and not Katie. We had difficulty with walking Stormie all of a sudden. She would freeze and not want to continue the walk. Katie allows you to text her whenever to ask her questions! We sent her videos and pictures and during the next lesson she worked with us to get Stormie to be more compliant on walks. I cannot thank Katie and Sublime K9 enough. You have educated us so much and have helped us learn about our pup. We are able to understand what she is trying to communicate to us as she has learned what we are trying to communicate with her.

He is also very jealous if anyone comes near me or my husband and barks uncontrollably when we hug or kiss each other. We have a baby on the way, so I called Sublime K9 to have him evaluated to see if we could fix his bad behaviors before the baby comes. I was afraid that at 3.5 years old, it was too late to break his bad habits. Katie came to our home for a FREE consultation/evaluation (other places I called charged for the evaluation unless you decide to proceed with the training - Sublime K9 was free regardless). She was very knowledgeable and informative and made me feel very comfortable from the start. She was very honest with me and assured me that just 5 sessions to work on basic commands should be enough to correct his problem behaviors. I especially love that she didn't try to sell me more sessions than were necessary and the pricing was very fair. Katie is far more than just a dog trainer - she is a human trainer. She not only worked extremely well with our dog, she educated us on how to best train him and teach him to listen to us, outside of training sessions. As first time dog owners, we had a lot to learn and Katie helped us every step of the way. She even went out of her way to check on me after a frustrating session where I began to doubt whether I would be able to make any progress with my dog. I can happily say, our corgi is totally transformed and I feel confident that our new peaceful lifestyle will be welcoming for our baby girl!

Blossom is a 4 year old Saint Bernard with the sweetest personality toward people, but at age two,…read moreshe started to show jealousy and aggressiveness toward the other Saint Bernard in our home. This behavior increased and we began having expensive vet visits and, finally, were considering rehoming her. I had had Saint Bernards since 1979, often multiples and have rescued hundreds of them for rehoming but I have zero training skills with this type of behavior. A friend from my vet's office highly recommended Harold for his work with her Great Dane, so I gave him a call. He recommended a 2 week stay with him. Now, let me tell you, I was 100% AGAINST doing off premises board and train and I made my feelings clear to Harold, who remained very polite and explained to me the whats and whys to this type of training. I was still skeptical, but felt I had no other choice, so I let him take her. I was so worried. Three weeks later, she came home and when the other dogs in house immediately started barking at her as she entered the house (the were behind a barrier), something miraculous happened....Blossom totally ignored them and continued walking next to Harold and went to the room we designated for her to decompress with her crate until she could readjust to our home. She knew her commands VERY well and was very quiet, but still as lovable, and when she was walked on lead, she was perfect!! We continued with Harold's classes and she continued to listen beautifully to both my husband (who is her favorite person) and me. Watching the other dogs in the class was just amazing. EVERY SINGLE dog did everything you see in his videos. Sure, there were a couple of renegades who did not obey 100% of the time, but there were in training and learning new skills. Harold's entire staff is really fantastic. They are friendly, professional and very committed to the success of you and your dog. Thank you, Harold, for give so many wonderful skills to both Blossom and my husband. He needed training as much as Blossom and you taught him to have both fun and responsibility with and for her. His interactions with our other dogs have vastly improved as well. Has is truly talented and has a very special gift with dogs and very organized process. I highly recommend his group training as well. Nancy, Bob and Blossom

Before that, he was a well-behaved, extremely loved, super friendly, and social dog. When he came back, he was underweight, scratched up, and had developed behavioral issues that weren't there before. He was not the same boy that we entrusted Harold with. We later learned he had been given anxiety medication during training, without a proper veterinary evaluation. Not long after, he had two bite incidents, which made rehoming impossible. Less than two weeks after returning home, he had to be put down. This situation caused a lot of pain. We all miss our sweet baby boy. I strongly recommend asking very specific questions about training methods and medical decisions before working with any trainer.

I was given a redundant speech about things that a typical dog owner would know. I repeatedly had told Barry what issues I wanted to deal with when we spoke on the phone and none of them were addressed... I wasn't even given any type of advice to address the issues. He told me over and over again that this is all I would need to know about getting my pup to behave... he didn't address the puppy after his initial hi. I was told that if I wanted to book him again it would be $95 ( each lesson )with a 4 lesson commitment. These $95 lessons would actually "address" my issue. I signed up for a dog trainer, not a speech. If that was the case I think you should mention to the customer that they're about to spend $125 on a puppy lesson which is more or less a speech for you. I can't comment on how well of a trainer he is, since he didn't train my dog... he only spoke during our lesson.
