There are not enough words to describe how grateful I am to have met Danny. My dog Cookie was a rescue. As much as we loved her, I was very close to sending her back to the shelter. Cookie was loving but she had a TERRIBLE nipping problem (along with other issues). She had gone through 2 trainers already and nothing was working. With a 7 year old child in the house, Cookie spent most of her time in her crate. I just could not risk my daughter accidentally getting hurt. Cookie went with Danny for 4 weeks and she came back a whole new dog. Before Danny, cookie was never allowed to roam the house. I am forever grateful for Danny's patience. I cannot express how lucky we are to have found Danny to help train our 2.5 year old mini poodle, Tate. A few months after getting Tate I could tell that it wasn't going to be easy training him. I had heard good things about Danny, but thought that a several week stay at the trainer's house was too intense. Fast forward 2 years and I would've paid double to go back in time and get Tate to Danny when he was a younger puppy. We've had Tate back for a week now and he is a completely different dog. Even more lovable than he was before, but he went from being pretty badly behaved to one of the most well behaved dogs I've ever seen. Obviously, we are much happier, but Tate seems much happier too. Danny gave him a "job" (listening to us) and all of his negative and wild energy has disappeared. I don't think what Danny has done with our dog can be learned by reading a book. I highly recommend any new dog owner to consider reaching out to Danny. I only wish we would've done it sooner. I have had my first dog for about 9 years now and this is our go to grooming spot! We now have two dogs and they treat them both lovely. The staff is amazing with all the animals. The business is family owned and know all the regular doggies by first name lol! When my dog first started coming, he was very snappy (he is with everyone) and needed a muzzle, he's now muzzle free and excited too see them! Washing and grooming is inexpensive, especially for such good service! They also have little hotel rooms for dog sittings which are so cute! My fiance and I reached out to Danny to help us with house breaking our new yellow lab puppy, Piper. We were totally stressed out and couldn't get her to A) stop going to the bathroom inside or B) start going to the bathroom outside. He was very responsive and got back to us immediately to schedule a meeting so he could come meet us and our pup and discuss next steps for our girl. We agreed to do the 4-week boarding where Piper lived with him at his home and went through the extensive training and we could not be any happier with the results! When she came home she not only stopped making in the house but she also had incredible obedience. I brought her to Petco the other day to be vaccinated and had to wait on the line for over an hour while she listened so perfectly. I received so many compliments from every other dog owner on the line with us - everyone was so impressed that she was only 6 months old and such a great listener! Danny sat with us for almost 2 hours when he dropped her off to explain all of the commands and trained us on how to keep our girl well behaved. where do i even begin? i have three full breed yorkies. normally when its time to get them groomed i always have to schedule them one by one because most other pet groomers are packed! but that was not the case at this place, they accommodated for me to be able to bring in all 3 same day :). my fury little love bugs went in on a saturday morning and came out looking super cute that afternoon. each of their cuts were great. i have two male yorkies so i opted for them to be shaved down since the weather is warming up and for my female yorkie, i wanted her shaved but still have a girlie appeal, they did that perfectly and even added a cute little pink on her head. their prices are great too, all three of my puppies were a solid 135$, NOT BAD AT ALL, which included an oatmeal bath, cutting of the nails and shaving. absolutely recommend this place. read more

I just took my Maltipoo, Zuko, for a grooming appointment today. I'll start with the the Pros: they scheduled me in on a short notice. And thats it. Cons: unprofessional staff, and unwelcoming environment. I saw the groomer lady yank one of the dogs by the ear as he was trying to escape. The groom/service was mediocre at best. Let me just say, first impressions matter. You need a cashier AT THE VERY LEAST. Also, try to make sure your groomer is not yanking a dog's ear in front of a first time customer or EVER for that matter. I was traumatized at the state of this facility but tried to give them the benefit of doubt. My dog always has a great disposition, and although I didn't see him mistreated directly, my imagination is running wild. As for the cut, it was subpar. read more

I should have written this review sooner. I got my Doberman Pinscher at 8 weeks old in September 2015 and started to train train train. I had a good friend who told me -"You need to go to my guy - Danny". I said NO WAY was I paying for training I could do myself. WELL, 4 months later, January 2016, I realized the progress I had made was not enough, and working full time made it very hard to follow through on the training. I wanted a dog that behaved off-leash and followed commands, and I decided to go for it. Admittedly, without the stunning 5star review from my friend I might have overlooked this place. It was not close to my home, from the outside looks like a neighborhood pet place, nothing special. ONE yelp review?!?!? But my friends Mastiff was trained perfectly and off-leash, so I was able to dive in with only a little apprehension. My neighbor has a cream golden retriever one month older than my girl and we signed up together. (Doggie carpool!) I am so glad I did! It is family run and they have decades of experience. They have trained circus dogs, security dogs, you name it. I went in for the basic obedience and Danny & his family are like family now. They offer to board your dog during training or you can choose the daycare option. They "train" your dog all day 1on1, with play, bathroom and rest periods in between. I was stunned at first when he told me at the end my dog will not only know her commands, but be able to STAY IN PLACE regardless of distractions (including food and cats). Well, she does! Granted, their are two levels of training, first the dog, second the owner. It is the owner's responsibility to keep the training enforced and practice and repeat. If I slack off, I know what I have to do to brush up. As they are like family to all their customers I also know I can always stop in for a free reminder session. My 80lb Doberman can walk off leash anywhere, she left that program with every bit of training they promised and more. I can't say enough good things about these people. If you need more proof, you are welcome to meet my baby! Everywhere we go (and we get around) people are so impressed at how well behaved she is. She can roam 1/2 block ahead of me and if I give her the command to stop, sit, or come, she does. She NEVER ever would run in the street again which was a major concern for me as I wanted her to get in and out of the car off leash. Peace of mind never came so cheap! read more

I wish i could give 10 stars . Danny is amazing to work with . He took my 4 month old Golden Doodle for roughly three weeks and totally transformed him . He wasnt house trained at all and my wife was almost to the point of wanting to get rid of him . Not only was he house trained but he was taught all basic commands like , sit , stay , heel and place and let me tell you he is a totally different dog . I have 2 kids ( 4 and 1) and he is just so much better even with the kids . I honestly cant recommend Danny and his team enough , he is passionate about what he does and it shows in his work . I can't say enough wonderful things about this facility! We have had a Goldendoodle for 8 years, she is a wonderful dog, almost always, We love her anyway). We recently got another doodle puppy and thought training would be the same! I tried the same techniques but nothing worked! Beau (new puppy) would wet himself in the crate, no matter how long he was in there. A disaster!!! He is not a small dog and having him covered in urine all the time was horrible! I was covered in urine all the time! Nothing worked! He was checked out for any infections and he was already 10 weeks old, potty training should have been coming along. The two dogs were fighting the older dog wanted nothing to do with the puppy. I was at the end of the rope. My husband and sons were in love! I was ready to give him away. I had enough and I beyond love dogs!!! It was a sad time. Then a friend suggested I call Danny, at Pet Spa. He answered my call and we scheduled a visit. We were only available on a Sunday, he was so accommodating and came all the way to our house in Jericho. After working with Beau for 5 weeks we now have a wonderful dog that we all love. I can honestly say he is better behaved than my older dog. We are now working on her. No more crate accidents, no pulling on leash, stays in place. ( please be assured that we are always working with him so he doesn't forget what Danny and his wonderful team taught him) any training has to be reinforced, or they forget and go back to the old ways. Whenever we are stuck we call Danny and he always answers the phone and tries to explain what to do and he will even make a house call in the evening. We are certainly welcome to bring the fogs to him too. The whole facility is family run, clean, separated into sections for different training and the dogs are so well behaved! I cannot even begin to say how thankful I am about having found Danny and the training center. I'm a doctor working in NYC and got a puppy around the start of COVID. She's loving, confident, and great but had some major issues with separation and crate training, let alone some issues with house training. After spending countless hours and way too much money using vet recommended trainers in the city (including intensive training)- I almost felt like I was out of options, getting recurrent noise complaints about her barking while I was at work. Danny came highly recommended to me from one of my friend's who had her dog trained with Danny and it was hands down the best decision of my life. After speaking with Danny at length (it's incredible, he really took the time to get to know me, my lifestyle, and my dog) I instantly realized how well he understood dogs as well. It also meant the world to me how much he took time listening to everything I had to say, without rushing me at all. We decided on the 4 week training program for my 5 month old mini goldendoodle and the results truly exceeded my expectations. When he dropped her off, she now walks like SUCH a lady and follows commands instead of trying to greet every person and dog that walks by. He also taught me so much, as a new dog owner, about how to be assertive and still caring, and he is still in touch with me today and even plans to come check up on us soon. I have been going to Pet Spa Resort for 17 years and I love it there!! The team of Danny and Tina are fabulous!! Danny trained my first Labrador Retriever 17 years ago and Tina took care of his grooming. He came home from his bath sparkling as if he were brand new!! 3 years ago, I got another Labrador Retriever and left him in the capable hands of Danny for training. With both of my dogs, I was approached constantly by people who marveled at how well behaved they were!! Tina continues to groom my dog with the same outcome - sparkles as if he were brand new!! In addition, I have boarded both dogs there. There are no crates or kennels! They are nice sized rooms with glass doors so that the dogs can look out and watch "the action". They are given play time either in an over-sized play room or outside in the back yard (weather permitting). All the dogs, as I have observed all these years, are treated like "family". Danny and Tina attend to their needs constantly and if there are special needs...no problem...they will take care it! It does my heart good when I have to board my dog there, or just bring him in for grooming, he strains at the leash to get inside. He knows these people are his friend and they love him just as much as I do!! We reached out to Danny for help with our 5 month old Alaskan Klee Kai puppy, Neo. Danny was very responsive and got back to us right away to schedule a consultation appointment to discuss options for training. At our first appointment he spent time understanding what we wanted out of the training program and how to best help us since both me and my boyfriend work so much and didn't have much time to train the puppy on our own. Together we decided that the overnight 4 week training program was best. Danny turned our very mischievous and stubborn puppy into an obedient and playful one. He is no longer pulling on the leash when we walk or running out the door ahead of us. We are finally able to eat a meal with Neo laying in one spot and not constantly begging for food or trying to jump in our lap. Honestly this training program was incredible and we are so happy with the results. Danny is extremely knowledgeable about dog behavior and you can really tell that he cares a lot about the dogs and even the customers. When Danny brought Neo back to us, he was patient as he walked us through the rationale behind the training countless times and basically trained us how to continue training our puppy. While Neo was away he would text us with updates and send us pictures to keep us up to date. Now that Neo is home, he still responds to our questions right away and is even coming back in 2 weeks to help us some more. I feel completely safe and secure that Neo was in great hands and cannot wait to board Neo with Danny and his family when we go away for vacation. This investment was more than worth it. I was so nervous about getting a dog even though I have always wanted one. When we were looking around for puppies someone had reccomended Danny's training program to my husband and me. I am so glad that we chose to have our Bruce trained by Danny. He did an amazing job! Bruce now listens to all the commands he was taught and is a well behaved puppy. I don't have to worry about him pulling the leash or dashing into the house before me along with many other behavioral issues we were dealing with before the training. Ok, so where do I start. First let me tell you that Danny and his wife are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Back in February my husband and I met a girl who had such a well-mannered dog that I initially thought that it was a service dog. To my surprise she told us that he wasn't but he was sent to a dog school for training. Well we got the number of the trainer (Danny) and a few weeks later my husband and I went to North Shore Animal League and adopted a half Border collie half-sheepdog puppy (8 weeks old). The first few weeks was very hard, our puppy was diagnosed with Parvo and spent 10 days at the North Shore Animal League Medical Ctr. Once he recovered and we got him home, the excessive biting started. It was so bad that I couldn't play with him. That's when we called Danny to have him come over to assess the situation. Danny came over and noticed right away that if we didn't get his biting under control our puppy would grow up to be an adult and continue to bite excessively because he is a herding dog. So we decided that we would do the obedience training with Danny and have our puppy stay that the Pet Spa Resort. We dropped our pup off April 18. 2016 and picked him up on May 17. 2016. The entire 4 weeks that our puppy was there we would receive a daily picture of him along with several texts to inform us on how is training is going. When my husband and I went to pick up our pup he was so well behaved, he listened to every command that Danny taught him that I was blown away. We got him home and continued with the commands and he listened without a problem. I have to tell anyone who is reading this, I am a very skeptic person and I do not trust anyone, but working with Danny has changed that. He went well beyond my expectations. He really knows what he is doing and well go above and beyond to show you that. He worked so well with our puppy that I honestly think he has a great gift of working with dogs. I am extremely thankful for his services. My husband and I already know that when we get another dog we are sending him or her to Danny for training. The Pet Spa resort was cleaned and well maintained. I love the fact Danny took extra security measures to make sure that all the dogs he works with are kept in a safe environment. I will definitely be recommending Danny to other people. Oh and by the way, Danny's clients are not only ordinary people but also some well-known people that you would see on a daily basis. Extremely displeased with this place. We took our dog here twice because deep in my heart i wanted to believe their original butchering & complete shaving of my entire dog was a sincere error. After the second time, we made sure to bring pictures and they were completely disregarded. He was unevenly cut, and certain areas weren't even trimmed. His face and ears don't even look worked. If you are looking for a great trim, this place is def. not it, and they refuse to acknowledge a displeased customer. Thanks but no thanks, ill keep hunting for a professional groomer. read more

I decided to go to this place because the price seemed good for pet grooming, but after picking my little girl up I regretted it. I had taken her to get groomed before elsewhere and they did an amazing job. When I got there it was like they were confused on how to groom her. She's a tiny dog with scruffy hair and they just needed to make it look neat. The girl was telling me that she wasn't sure if they could trim it, but they will do their best. I asked her if she's not comfortable should I take her where I took her before and she assured me they could do it. When I went to pick her up about 3 hours later, she was super happy to see me and I was just excited to see her that I didn't really give her a whole look over. Well when I got home my husband was pissed. After looking at her they cut her whiskers, her hair under her chin was uneven and her stomach and chest area were shaved to her skin and looked botched. Like she had patches of hair every where. Around her neck was all hairy and the rest of her body was trimmed down. My dog has black hair, so that's why I didn't see it right away. I will never take her there EVER. The staff is nice, but the grooming skills are horrible. read more

I couldn't be more pleased with my experience with Danny and all the trainers at Pet Spa Resort. We sent our 3 month old Goldendoodle to be trained after only having her with us for three weeks. She was having frequent accidents in the house and was very difficult to manage. Although we were hesitant about sending out new puppy away to get trained, Danny made it easier by promptly returning our texts/calls and sending us pictures of our pup. When Penny returned to us four weeks later we couldn't believe the results. We now have a easy to manage, well-trained puppy that is a welcome addition to our family. We continue weekly lessons with Danny to reinforce and learn all the training techniques. I HIGHLY recommend Pet Spa Resort and Dog Training Center to anyone struggling with a difficult dog.
