We bought a bearded dragon from pet smart and he got sick we brought him back and when he was returned to us we had many questions and got many different answers from their employees they know nothing about bearded dragons we got 3 different answers on the temp of his tank . I shop at pet smart regularly and I have a kitty on the pet plan there. The people are always very friendly and helpful, especially the girls at the veterinary desk, but today I am sorry to say that I went in there and decided I wanted to adopt a puppy. The lady sitting at the back table was nothing but rude and she totally humiliated me in front of at least 10 customers that were standing back there. I understand asking questions about your home, but she asked who would be taking care of the dog, I said my daughter and I, she asked how old she was I said 17, she asked what about when she goes to school, I told her she home schools she than said what if she goes to college. She was not nice and she was condescending to me. I was so upset and humiliated I walked out and didn't purchase what I went in for. I cannot believe pet smart would have someone that has no people skills helping to find homes for animals. I take great care of my animals and was so excited to take home that puppy. read more

I have never had such an awful experience. Every now and then we take our dogs to get groomed at PetSmart. After today that will not be happening. Being a pet owner who has no children, my dogs are my pride and joy and most importantly my babies. The lack of care and respect is insane. My oldest Shepherd/husky is a year old. He has been groomed at PetSmart 4 times in his short life. I was called and told he did great for his bath but once he was put back in his kennel he was winning and had dihareah. I got to the location as fast as I could to pick him up. They handed me the bill for him and I looked at her and said, "no I want to see my dog now" rolled her eyes and went back to get him. It took for 15 minutes to bring him to me. Mean time the manager of grooming came to me and tried telling me my dog was eating his poop and throwing it back up again and that he had a condition. I'm pretty sure you are a groomer, not a vet. Koda was shaking and so distraught. I felt so bad for my baby. She continued to tell me he was fine and just trying to get attention. I'm sorry, if my dog was distraught and throwing up, why wouldn't you tend to him? She was more mad that they had to clean a kennel out then worried about my dog. I grabbed my other two dogs that were dropped off and headed for the door. The grooming manager made sure to run after me and make sure I had paid for my awful experience. And proceeded to tell me it would probably be best if we didn't return.I will not be returning to PetSmart, not because she told me not to but because of how they treated my baby. Not to mention the lack of care in the grooming area and lack of knowledge on how to greet people when they walk in. read more

Grooming service is horrible at this location, complete waste of time and money.

My dogs usually get great grooming services from this location but yesterday the staff went above and beyond to help us with what could have been a very serious situations. They asked lots of questions to really get to know his needs and right when this was taking place my senior dog was so stressed from going to get groomed that his nose started gushing blood. The fast acting manager brought us straight to the back to the vet. where we were taking right in immediately. Thank you staff for all your help and understanding and knowledge when dealing with elderly dogs. read more

Bought a guinea to be a friend to our current guinea pig- both female, though we kept them in seperate cages. The new baby had some horrible respiratory disease which resulted in her death after we brought her back to the store for vet care (I don't believe they gave her a fair chance). Regardless of this, the baby got our current guinea pig sick and we're praying she makes it through- already spent several hundred on medicine and vet visits. Do not buy guinea pigs from this store unless you are willing to risk it. read more

I was very disappointed with the service of the associate at the register. I was returning a non-food product and he overheard me in conversation to another say I was going to stop in also at Petco. He started to inquire why I'd go there and when I explained he became was very pushy and opinionated. (I feed a top premium brand that Petsmart does not sell but Petco does.) I explained that I shop at Petco for my preferred brand of pet food being that Petsmart does not carry it. He began questioning me about various ingredients, brands, (which I'm well educated on from my continuous research) he confirmed that they did not sell the brand I feed, however I could switch to their proprietary brand they stock. Sorry, but I stopped feeding my dogs food from Petsmart about 1 year ago when they became extremely ill by one of the top premium brands that they still proudly stock and display! After having researched online the symptoms my dogs had and finding others reporting the same issues with the same food I was then feeding, I switched them off immediately! I explained this to him, he was very agitated and stated that he feeds his dog that very food I was referring to and had no problems...then he proceeded to boast about how much Petsmart does in charity donations. (Yes, I know I'm well aware, as I & many others donate to this cause when purchasing something in their store.) He clearly showed no regard for me as a customer, a true animal lover, avid animal rescuer, and supporter of non-profit animal organizations. I told him how sickly my animals had become needing veterinary care and had found online hundreds of others who experienced the same thing or worse from this so called reputable brand he proudly feeds his dog - he showed no real compassion just pure irritation. It was enough for me to take my business completely to Petco now! As a well informed and pro-active pet owner, my pets are my family and I feel Petsmart is only looking out for making a profit. (By the way, the new brand I feed they also have a charity, they've NEVER had a pet food recall, they don't pay for advertisements but have sponsors that contribute to their mission and they work with shelters each year delivering thousands of free kibble to dogs/cats in need. Plus their co-owner is a well known and beloved celebrity respected by many for her compassion to people and animals.) My pets are happy again and so am I. Truly sad though that such a large chain as Petsmart is so focused on profit that they dismiss the well being of the animal. I never write reviews but this made me very agitated and I felt others should be aware. Do your own research is the best advice I can offer others when providing for your pets. Otherwise listening to this associate would have cost me possibly sick dogs again and more vet bills. read more
