Even if I am not there to have my dog checked in at Banfield, they could be a little helpful in answering a question. They have been rude, and intentionally ignoring any request for help. I have been taking my dog here 16 years. Last December their grooming manager was grooming my dog and said he had a seizure which was never confirmed or verified. I have taken him in 3 times after that and on this third time was told at the time of drop off that he couldn't be there more than an hour which screwed up my schedule. Alexis their grooming manager didn't notify me ahead of time nor was I notified of a policy change when making the appointment. Then after his groom today, I asked the cashier to get my dog and receipt for me because I did not want to deal with her. What did she do after I asked to speak to the store manager, she took it upon herself to aggressively come out of the salon and approach me because I had asked to speak to a manager. Instead of just listening to why I was upset and then apologizing or acknowledging, she continued to argue and try to defend herself. If you're going to be in management learn how to manage and handle customers with care and respect. Never going back to this petsmart! After 16 years of loyalty they lost me! read more

Do not use the groomers here unless the dog is just getting a bath. I didn't experience a groomer who listened to what I wanted at all. The cavapoo cut I wanted and the poodle one I got. I will not bring my dog here again she looks like a rat. Whatever it growns back but it's going to be MONTHS before she looks like herself again. It's pretty crappy you have to pay before seeing how they butchered your freakin dogs hair cut. I'm so frustrated and annoyed. No they don't give you your money back for effing up. read more

I love going to the PetSmart on orange grove and river. They take care of my min poodle very well.

Took my dog in to have his nails trimmed. I was told it would be 10 minutes. They were done early so I went to get my dog. I gave the girl a tip and paid for the nail trim. I was thanked and I left. As I walked out I looked at his nails. It appeared as if only a couple were trimmed at all. I went back in and they said that the original salon expert (or whatever they're called) could only do a couple because he wasn't cooperating. The new girl said she would try to trim them again. So I waited and watched her. She cut another nail or two. My dog didn't like it (never does) and so she had a different girl put a cone on his head. He was definitely fighting the cone, so they decided to unhook him and hold him and try to continue to clip. They said they couldn't continue because he was fighting them too bad and that his tongue was turning pale. I would have been better with all of it if at first I WAS NOTIFIED THAT HE WASN'T COMPLIANT. I paid full price, tipped, and my dog's nails are still not trimmed. I am very unhappy. No refund was offered. No offer to bring him back to try again at no cost. I'll never go back to this grooming business again. I'm calling corporate too. read more

Violet is such a sweetheart and is always so helpful to me and my family. I've had numerous occasions where Violet has greeted me upon entry, started up a conversation, and helped me find what I needed. When I first came to this specific location, she was a wonderful first impression, so much so that I drive the extra miles to go to this location VS the one on Oracle/Wetmore where the customer service skills are less than satisfactory. Overall, I generally like this store more not just because of Violet and other kind employees but because this location is much more organized and tidy compared to other locations I've been to. I think the selection is much bigger as well. I told my Grandma about how much better this location is and she started going here as well. She called me after her first visit and told me about her experience and guess who was so kind and helpful!? None other than VIOLET HERSELF! PET ABUSE DO NOT COME HERE. ALEXA. Is the name of the lady who groomed my Grandmothers mini schnauzer. Let me tell you about Violet. This little dog is LITERALLY the sweetest most timid schnauzer I've ever met considering I have one as well. Violet Hasn't ever bit anyone, growled at anyone, when she first meets you she's too shy to say hi but will shower you with kisses after. Violet got taken in for a grooming, my grandmother knew she had knots in her hair so she expected Violet to be shaved of course but when she picked Violet up she was extremely distraught to hear her puppy SCREAMING for her when she walked through the door. Violet was acting so distraught and wouldn't stop crying and was shaking backing up when my grandmother went to pick her up.my grandmother asked what happened and ALEXA told her " You need to get your dog trained she is FEROCIOUS" KEY WORD. The dog that has already been fully trained, and is around people and CHILDREN EVERYDAY who climb on her and has never had any accidents, is "FEROCIOUS"?! My grandmother left upset from an already shoddy haircut from a groomer, and went home and checked Violet thoroughly because her dog has NEVER acted like this and what she found on her dog was disgusting. RAZOR BURNS on her stomach, spots of Long hair between her toes and just everywhere, her ears were terribly done. Completely shaved her beard so she only has eyebrows. IF YOU LOVE YOUR FUR BABIES DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE. And Alexa has NO place to be working there and should be fired IMMEDIATELY for this abuse on a puppy that barely turned 1. read more

Here is my Covid-19 update. I had a Top Fin filter/pump that burned up after only a month or two of owning it. Literally, it burned a hole in the plastic -- some sort of internal malfunction. I called PetSmart to try and figure out what to do since they're not taking returns right now. A very nice representative from the main headquarters sent me (via email) a giftcard that would pay to replace the pump. She said no worries, just throw the old one away. So then, I went online and picked out a new pump (really, its the same pump a little upgraded) and purchased it from this location. They were low on stock when I checked online so, I purchased it immediately. I selected curbside pickup somewhat accidentally (I was going to just go inside and grab it but I guess I clicked curbside). Within an hour, I had a confirmation to go and get my new pump. Employees here were wonderful when I called and said I was parked outside. The employee (Mia?) came out with the pump in a bag ready to go. I apologized for being kind of lazy and not going in and she laughed, said it was perfectly fine and she understood, and was super....super...friendly. She's amazing. Way to go PetSmart! You're making life a little less stressful in a time that's full of odd chaos. read more

I'm sure the service you receive depends on the person you deal with. Frankly, I would only trust my big girl to Courtnie H.! I have a Great Dane that can be incredibly stubborn. Seriously, try making a 115lb dog go somewhere she doesn't want to go...it's a freakin' nightmare! However, Courtnie always seems to manage my Honey baby. She comes back to me happy, clean, soft and smelling wonderful. Total love and props to Courtnie, she is amazing and I wouldn't take my precious girl to anyone but her!! read more

Clean, not overly friendly but not unfriendly. The guy counting fish did an admirable job if dealing with dick buying goldfish. The dog adoption people weren't overly concerned with staying out if the foot path, but I cut them slack because the ARE adopting animals out. Bathrooms were clean and didn't stink. Every two weeks. I order my dog food then pick it up. Last time (two weeks ago). It smelled soooo bad. Opened the bag and there were maggots and a worm!! I tried reaching out to them privately and got a message on Twitter who pushed it to the store and I got a canned email and I tried to call them back and was on eternal hold. I walk back to my car and I'm told my some lovely people who just purchased $230 worth of items, that Judy has shown her true un-customer serviceness to them before, but they shop at Sprouts so it's convenient. They state the Judy was just rude to them too. I'm done. PetCo moving forward. I've received bad information from these guys anyway regarding my BD who I rescued. You lost a customer. Here's the story of how the kindness of the manager at this location saved my dog from having to starve for 2 days.... I was in a hurry to get dog food on my way to work. Gotta be there by 9, so I pulled up at Petsmart about 8:15am. I'm on a big deadline and this is literally the ONLY time I have to get dog food in the next 2 days (oh, and I'm completely out of food at home). Ran up to the Petsmart doors (which didn't open), and stood there puzzled because the sign said open at 8:00am...... The manager came and unlocked and opened the door, standing there like, "Can I help you???" And I asked, "Ummmm.....are you open??" - gesturing to the sign. Well - I'm a big idiot because the sign was for drop-off grooming!!! Gawd!!! The store doesn't open until 9am (OF COURSE!!) I laugh at my mistake and turn to head back to my car, thinking my dog will have to survive on scrambled eggs or leftover takeout, but then the manager said, "If it's just something quick I''ll let you come in." Me = YES!!! Just a bag of dog food so Fido doesn't starve!!! Woo hoo! I half run/half gallop to the dog food aisle, gleefully grab Fido's food, pay for it, and make it back home in time to feed Fido before rushing to work. Maybe Fido would have preferred table scraps, but I'm thrilled that the manager took pity on me and allowed me to get the healthy, nutritious food Fido needs for a balanced diet. #Win!!! read more

I had a hard time deciding on how many stars to give this location. I have been a "petsmart girl" since I was a little kid. I rarely shop at any other store. I have two large dogs, and my boyfriend has a 36 gallon fish tank, so we come in often. This location is not the closest one to our home, but while we were running errands, we stopped in to get several items. I do like that Petsmart works with local rescue groups to help adopt dogs and cats, that is really awesome and shows that they are caring. However, when it comes to the fish department...ugh. I feel so bad thinking about it. Basically every single one of their tropical tanks were infested with "ick". Ichthyophthirius multifiliis (commonly known as freshwater white spot disease, freshwater ich, or freshwater ick) is a common disease of freshwater fish. At some of the less-corporate stores in town, as soon as a fish shows sign of this, they are seperated and the tank is immediately treated using aquarium salt or other remedies. Basically when a fish gets it, they have white spots all over and try to scrape it off. It's sad to watch, and usually the fish succomb to the disease. We stopped buying fish at big box pet stores like pet smart because almost every time, they would get ick. Usually it would appear a week or two after getting the fish and putting them in the tank. The last time we bought a fish from there, the disease took out our whole tank! Last night when we went in there we took a look, just to look of course, and all of the fish were infected. The worst part is they were still selling fish to unsuspecting newbies! We did warn a couple of shoppers on the DL of the problem and suggested that they try a different store, and told them what to look for. The last thing you want is for some little kid watching his fish slowly die. A word to Petsmart, you need to inform your employees of the signs of the disease, and increase your filtration systems. Customers should not be able to purchase dying creatures. It's immoral. read more

I use to really like coming in to this store and buying toys and stuff for my dogs. I needed a new leash and found two on clearance and they had a price tag on them. When I went to the register the person said the pricing was ringing up at a penny and she couldn't sell it too me. She pages for someone to the front and she just took the leash I grabbed the second one that was on the shelf and she took from me. This first grooming appointment was the worst experiment for us all. We have a 6 month old shih-tza/poodle mix. He is the most adorable little dog and they made him look awful. He looks nothing like himself and in fact looks like a rat. Stephanie, the groomer, said several times that he had really bad "matting" but he didn't. There were a few dirty spots on his fur and with just a good wash and some TLC he would have been like new. When we had given him a bath before they came out just fine. She also kept saying that he was so young that he would have a very hard time getting groomed. He went to a groomer, before we adopted him, and all they did was give him a little trim. I even told her I just wanted a trim. I asked her to give him a "puppy cut" and make him look fluffy. Well there is no fur left to make him look fluffy, he looks like a hairless dog!!! I'll post before and after pictures so you can see that he looks nothing like himself. I'm not only upset about the experience, but for a royal screw up like this, it was almost $60!!! Do not go there to get your dogs groomed. Never again! Thank God fur grows back. read more

Used to take my pets to PetSmart for grooming,toys and food. After taking her there today for grooming, I'll be going elsewhere. I made an appointment yesterday to get my dog a bath and nail clipping today. When the person checked her in today, she said they wouldn't be able to clip much of her nails and they would be left sharp unless I paid an extra $12 for nail grinding, I reluctantly agreed to the nail grinding. Then she said to stay near because her service was an Express so she would be done in about 45 min to an hour. I asked what an Express meant and she said they would take care of her from start to finish. Imagine my surprise when I get a call after about 20 minutes to tell me my dog was done and I can come and get her. I arrived and took my bill to the register to pay. While waiting in the long line for the one cashier, I realized the bill was $5.00 more for the bath than I had previously been paying. I got out of the line, went to the grooming place and asked when the price went up. I was told the service for my dog was now an Express and they added the Express fee to the price. Why wasn't this additional cost disclosed to me when I made the appointment, when I asked what Express was when I checked in or at any other time??? Between the misleading statements about the nail clipping and the undisclosed price manipulation, I'm out $17 I had not planned to spend. I would never recommend PetSmart! read more

Took my dog in to grooming told them that my dog feels more comfortable handing her over to them facing me.. instead she said let's leash her on the floor they then dragged my 8lb min pin through the doorway pulling on her neck then picked her up I honestly should have said never mind at that point. After paying came back to them talking bad about other clients and other people's dogs that they groom . They had a dog that wasn't keen on other dogs and people and was freaking out. Well honestly if it's freaking out at everyone comming in common sense is to not have it at the station near the doorway!!! The gal struggled with trimming my dogs nails not sure but in the past 1person would hold her the other would trim they gave the excuse that they were busy! Well sorry you drug her through the doorway you freaked her out more than she was before. I've had her at this location before and I didn't have to even say that I needed her to face me when handing her over they already knew how to handle smaller scared dogs and they would tell me to hand her over that way. They seemed unsure how to handle several dogs in there I mean if you don't know how to handle dogs and treat them nicely and if you lack customer service(talking about other clients in front of other customers) maybe you all should find different jobs. They don't have a seating area indicating they don't want you to stay in there while they are with your dog provable so you don't see their lack of professionalism. read more

Nothing like losing a customer in a hurry. Had my dog spayed 10 days ago and during her 1 week follow up asked my Vet if I could get her groomed and he said absolutely as her incision was healing great and was ready. So I made an appointment for today and told them what the Vet said and they made my appointment. Took her in today and they refused her as it had to be 14 days. I told them that I got the green light from my Vet and they still refused. I guess a groomer would know better than my Vet, after all he is only a Dr. who went to college or something. I rarely give one star reviews, especially after only one visit, but this was the WORST experience I have ever had at a groomer, and the dogs didn't even get groomed! I made an appointment at this PetSmart while we were staying in Tucson, about a month back. When I arrived I had to wind my way to the very inconveniently located grooming salon in a tiny corner of the store behind the registers. A couple was in already ahead of me checking in their small dog, so I took the bouncy hounds to the other side of the reception area. The hounds are well behaved but I didn't want the little guy to feel uncomfortable so I was trying to give him as much space as the tiny area would allow. There were 5 PetSmart employees in the grooming salon when I walked in, including one who would later turn out to be the manager. Two were at the front desk and three were grooming other dogs. Not one person acknowledged us. The couple checked their dog in and the manager and the couple began to chat while the other receptionist took the small dog to the back. Then the manager left the grooming area with the couple, still chatting like they all knew each other. Silence descended, no one looked up from their grooming, no one had even said hello or asked why were were there, it was now 5 mins past our appointment time. We waited another five mins. Finally one of the other groomers said, sullenly, "Do you have an appointment?" Yes, I said, at 11. They all rolled their eyes at each other. "Go get So en so," one of them said to another and they all fell silent again except for one of them heaving a huge, frustrated sigh as she left her post and went in to the back to get whoever it was to check me in. I continued to wait. 5 more minutes passed in silence. All the time I was growing more and more uncomfortable with the smell in the grooming salon, the smell of urine and feces. Yuck. It was clear that no one was in a hurry to help us, to keep our appointment time or, apparently, to observe basic hygiene. I got cold feet, "On second thought," I said, "we wont be keeping that appointment after all." The groomers all looked blankly at me and I walked out. No way was I leaving my sweet hounds in their lackadaisical (at best) care. On the way out through the store The Snowbeast, my white hound, lifted his leg on a display. I was AGHAST!!! He has NEVER done anything like that before! I offered to clean it but an employee told me not to worry about it, "another dog already peed there," she said casually, " I just haven't cleaned it up yet." Gross!!! I will NEVER set foot in this store again! I'm just extra thankful now for the great grooming team at my home store in Round Rock! read more

I came to visit the birds at lunch time and the poor things lights were off, no perches (besides a small metal perch for the largest cage which is unhealthy for them, they were fighting and cramming onto the small metal perch and the sides of the cage) they had NO FOOD. NO WATER. I watched staff pass them multiple times. As well as dead fish floating on the tops of tanks and dead beta fish on the shelves. This place is inhumane, I left feeling awful. I would have liked to have given this location more stars as I have been a regular customer since my purchase of 2 puppies in February purchasing all my pet need for my two Goldens. Most visits have been pleasant and my needs were met, in fact I can remember one incident where the manager on duty went out of her way to help. On my last visit I left rather frustrated and angry as the cashier told me they updated their system thus my phone number no longer worked for their discount, she said I could sign up all over again. First of all, I do not care to reveal personal information so my purchases can be tracked and feel that all customers should receive the same advertised discounts. Retailers seem to be losing sight that when conditions are required for discounts the customer has the right to shop elsewhere, especially when those conditions have been previously met and due to their change we, the customer has to spend time resubmitting that info. Well, my pups are about a year old and I will be changing their food from puppy chow to an adult dog food which I guess I can purchase for much less at a retailer of choice without have to re-enroll in their tracking system. I actually went online to submit an email to their store manager but no email contact information is available on their store website. read more

The employees today were unusually unhelpful compared to other locations I've visited. Several were just chatting and walking around but didn't ask me if I needed help when I was looking lost, and then made themselves scarce. One that I found and asked sent me to the DOG aisle for an item that I explicitly said was a CAT item, and of course it wasn't there. Wasn't in the cat aisle either because they don't sell it apparently, despite it being available on their website. The only person who was helpful was the girl at the cash register. She was the ONLY one who actually tried to help me, and she had to leave the cash register to do it. She's the reason this is a 3-star review rather than a 1-star review. read more

I have a groomer that I trust with my girls here. Charles is great with the girls and understands how to deal with rescue dogs with trust issues. I have had some issues with scheduling appointments and getting a runaround at times. Make sure when you have a confirmation from the groomer you are using if you go to get a pet groomed. read more

Happy to report a wonderful grooming experience at this branch of Petsmart. I called in the morning about getting our dog a bath; they said they had an opening at 5 pm and I booked the appointment. Brought the dog there and they were ready for her; checked our paperwork re her recent vaccinations and said she'd be done in a few hours. When I returned, Katy was clean and happy, and the charge for our 62 pound dog for a bath with ear cleaning and nail grinding was a reasonable $28.99. went to petsmart for supplies and was so surprised to walk in and NOT ONE sales associate was wearing any kind of hand or face protection. I asked one clerk who was stocking shelves why she wasn't wearing any kind of protection and she told me she has asthma and it's hard to breath,,,my boyfriend has severe asthma nad wears a mask with no problem. When I was checking out the checker wore no protection either,,,after he sneezed into his sleeve he touched every can of my cat food about 25 cans that I then had to clean when I got home...when I asked him why he wasn't wearing any protection he said it was proven that the masks and gloves don't help...I wrote to the company telling them this is unacceptable...never heard a word back from them...they...like donald trump don't give a damn about your saftey or your health. I will never shop here again...if they are this careless during a pandemic they will always put profit over safety...shop elsewhere!!! read more
