The grooming services at this Petsmart location are awful. I will never take my dog here again.

Took my dogs for a nail trim after using this salon for years. Ended up being turned away because they didn't have a record of my dogs' rabies shots. This happens every time I take them in and despite having supplied their records at last visit. Understanding the rules, annoyed at their terrible record keeping I chose to leave. It was the incredibly snarky and unappreciated 'have a nice day' that followed me out the door that was such a slap in the face to a long term customer. Tigard Petsmart will never see me again. read more

Extremely rude service. Person when we requested service it took three hours for her to come out. When she actually came she reeked of recently smoked weed and. We know that because she did not wear a mask which is in violation of the COVID-19 policies and she was coughing. We asked for the big fish and she put it in maybe a 10 ounce bag. When we said we wanted to fish with big eyes under her breath she mumbled reminds me of you. When the fish was finally in the minuscule bag she TOSSED it to us. Never come here again I am filing a lawsuit. read more

This review in regards to training: Monica is wonderful. She's very knowledgeable about dog behavior, super helpful with questions and we've had aignificant improvement with our dog. read more

This staff at this PetSmart is really terrific. I'm a reptile enthusiast and originally went to House of Reptiles to support a small business. However, the owner and staff were incredibly rude and condescending and basically ignored me despite my spending hundreds of dollars a year there. As a result I started going to the nearby PetSmart and had the opposite experience. The staff were (and are) incredibly friendly and obviously enjoy their work and take pride in it. I was on a first name basis with all of them within weeks. The guy who I buy crickets from, Matt, who I have named "The King of Crickets," knows what I buy, will get it ready for me when he sees me coming in the store, and does the best job packing the bugs so their stay alive and healthy. Its ironic it seems that I get great service from a big company and lousy service and nasty attitudes from a local specialist. Keep up the good work. read more

We love Jessie! She always grooms our dogs with love and care, and extra special touches. The dogs love her and we do too. PetSmart is awesome. We also love that they adopt cats through Cat a adoption Team! read more

DON'T TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. I overheard an upset costumer reporting a groomer who hit a dog!! When the man approached the groomers about it they said "you don't know what we go through" If a man is willing to not only say something to that person but also report it, it must have been bad! read more

Been training our puppy at the Tigard Petsmart. The staff there are very friendly and helpful. Our trainer Monica is the absolute best, and knows her stuff. Can't wait to continue with the training in the intermediate and advanced class with her. read more

I have an 18 month west highlander terrier and I've always had her grooming done at Petsmart in Tigard Oregon (store#387). The first time we went there it was great and the people were wonderful. It has been nothing but downhill since then. There is a big window in front of the grooming salon and I've watched the process every time my dog has been groomed. The previous time the groomer came out an asked me to leave, she doesn't like owners watching. I said that I was going to stay and she said that usually when the dog sees the owner they think it's time to go. I told her I've always watched so my dog doesn't have that "drop-off\ pick-up" association since she's never been dropped off. Plus, I told her that my dog is shy and gets the shakes but the past groomers have told me that because she can see me she stays relaxed and it's easier to work with her. The groomer left and never came back out after the shampoo- she did the entire grooming session in the back so I couldn't watch. I was very frustrated and upset and I don't understand the problem. The store is set up with a big window looking into the grooming salon and I see people watching all the time. I've never tapped on the window or interacted with my dog while's she's being groomed and I've never interrupted or criticized the groomer. In fact, when they have let me watch I've been very appreciative and complimentary of their skills. In an effort to ensure that both the groomer and I are comfortable with this expectation I just called the grooming salon and said that I am flexible regarding time and date since I work from home but I would like to schedule a grooming appointment with a groomer who will be comfortable with me watching. The salon refused to book an appointment and said they won't let me watch. I find this confusing and infuriating. I'm trying to be as accommodating as possible so that everyone is satisfied but they are being completely unprofessional. I would like to remain a loyal Petsmart customer but if this situation is not addressed and the grooming staff retrained I will take my business elsewhere and ensure that all my family and friends are aware that Petsmart groomers are rude, unprofessional, and apparently treating your dog in a manner you would find unacceptable so they can't let you watch. read more

The grooming salon at the Tigard PetSmart is just really good. They appear to be happy to be interacting with my two dogs. My dogs come in for baths and nail grinding. When I walk in the dogs drag me back to the grooming door. I think because of the way this location is set up, the chaos with multiple dogs checking in and out is controlled. These groomers work for too little money and should be tipped directly. read more

This review is for the grooming department. They were extremely rude. I took both of my dogs to get their nails grinded, my younger one ( who is 10 lbs) was a bit scared and didn't want to walk, the girl who was doing the nails just pulled her leash an dragged my dog across the floor! I was shocked! To make matters worse my older dog was given back with a gash on the top of his paw. They didn't even mention it or apologize for it. I will NEVER go back to this grooming department. read more

PetSmart - Pet Training Near Me - Tigard, Oregon

About two years ago this store was great- well stocked. But over time, the supply has dwindled. Whether I need bird food, cat supplies, or dog supplies, every thing I need is sold out. It's getting ridiculous. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR GROOMING! I just wanted my dogs face trimmed a bit and the workers there were very rude and my dog looks so bad. I was very specific in my directions about how to trim her and well I guess they couldn't comprehend those instructions. I would recommend one of the upscale groomers, it's worth the money to have kind groomers who are competent. The selection of treats/toys is good. read more

I came here for an adoption event and all the Petsmart staff were all friendly and helpful. But the reason it gets 5 stars for me is effing MONICA!!! She is a trainer there and was awesome. She was running back and forth helping people check out and answering dog questions from all sorts of prospective adopters. With all the chaos the rescue people didn't have time to answer questions but she helped everyone. At one point there was a line in the aisle to talk to her. She gave me insight and her assessment of the dog we ended up adopting. I even bypassed the PetSmart by my house and went 20 minutes out of my way to go this store because of her. I'll even go to training there though based on reviews...not for grooming. read more

My review for Petsmart in Tigard would have been better if it weren't for the last time I took my dog in to get groomed. Overall the store is clean and has a good selection of food, toys, blah blah blah for both cats and dogs. Although two weeks ago I went to get a toothbrush for my cat and they only had dog toothbrushes, I want a little finger brush for my cat, not a big dog brush! So we buy our dog her food there, and my neighbor one time told me they have good prices for grooming, so we started taking Phoebe there to get groomed, $26 for a 65 pound lab is a good price. Of course they always try and upsell you when you go in - they want you to get the de-shedding package, and the toenail clipping, etc. We did get undercoat de-shedding thing once, it helped a little bit but not enough to justify the cost, I think it was an extra $20 or something. All I want is to get my dog cleaned and have her anal glands drained (fish-butt occurs every now and then, and I will never drain those things, one time the vet wanted to show me how to do it... no thanks bro!). So a couple weeks ago we had some company in town and wanted to get Phoebe cleaned up, they asked me if I wanted to have her nails clipped and I said no, so I dropped her off, and after picking her up, we got home and I noticed blood all over our kitchen floor. After looking at her feet it totally looked like they started clipping her nails and then realized they weren't suppose to do it and stopped, but this one nail was cut waaay shorter than the others and was bleeding all over the place. My wife was pissed! She called them and the groomers tried to tell us that they didn't do it, it was from the concrete...Wtf? Come on, I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday. Anyway they ended up giving us a free grooming for her next time, but I don't know if we will go back. Just kind of frustrating that they denied doing it. I'm not expecting my dog to get the royal treatment from a place like this, but I do expect her to get treated well. The first couple times we went there they would also give us a "Paw-Gress Report" which is kind of cute but they haven't given us one of those either the last 3 or 4 times we've taken her in. read more

Took our pup in to be groomed, and she was knicked and bleeding. They didn't even tell us that it happened. Not an ideal situation. We have now bought our own grooming supplies, and it's quite easy to do it yourself and about half the cost of one groomer visit! Oh and we haven't cut her...just saying. read more

This is rating for the training classes i took there. I felt it was a waste of money. there were too many dogs in the class. The classes are located in the middle of the store and the area was jsut roped off, so the dogs were soo easily distracted. They have since placed some stand up room dividers with windows, but they should've done this from the start. The instructor did way more talking than needed and she spent way too much time with certain dogs and we felt slighted. Too many dogs in 1 class -- we had about 9 dogs in there. read more

Stopped in yesterday and the stench of urine was overwhelming. Obviously expected (somewhat) but it was so potent throughout the entire store read more

Great for me if I need to pick up some cat food quickly, but I prefer taking the extra time and heading all the way out to the Cascade Station or Beaverton locations where the customer service is exceptionally better and friendly. This location I feel are a bunch of kids working for a paycheck. Attitudes and indignance. read more

I have to agree with the above poster. There were too many dogs in the class, so most of the dogs were way too distracted to learn. The trainer obviously loves dogs and knows her stuff, but there was way too much talk and not enough guided practice. However, I guess when you sign up for the group classes, that's probably the "norm." I am going to do individual training for the next batch. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experience. Gave me a coupon last week for dog food that my dog actually liked! Tried to use the second part of the coupon on a more expensive bag. The coupon took in the system but then the manager, Cameron, said that I couldn't use it. It was at his discretion but I couldn't use it? He then told me to read the coupon policy that is written in microscopic ink on the back of the receipt. I pointed out that no one can read the back of the receipt and he said that I could read it on the wall at the cash register! Only if I shoved him out of the way to get to it! I spend hundreds of dollars at PetSmart every month (dog, cats, fish) and have never been treated so poorly. I will now be going to Petco across 99W! read more

Don't go here for grooming. She butchered my poor dogs nails, & charged me for anal expression when she told me she didn't even have to do anything. Assistant Manger or Manager guy would not allow me to return unopened products because the transaction was "too much". It was two packs of bedding and two packs of food. Very disappointed in the way the groomers treated me and my dog. It was as if we were a nuisance giving them 100+ dollars. I will never take my dog back to this location. Ever. read more

I am so upset with the grooming department. I've been taking my dog here for 3 years and recently they have been doing a crap job. Today we asked for her to be cut a little shorter because she is a keeshond and has longer hair. Recently it seems like they haven't even been cutting her hair. So today they pretty much shaved her and told us they only cut 1/2 an inch off... they shaved her down to just her undercoat. I am so furious and have yet to hear back from them. She will NOT be going back here. read more

I was very skeptical about taking my dog here after reading some of the reviews but the two girls that were there were wonderful. I believe the girls name that groomed my dog was Cait. I used to love this Petsmart. We had a bad grooming experience with our puppy. We bough the full puppy package to find out they didn't brush her teeth, cleaner her ears, or do her anal glands. They even gave us a report card telling us how great she did. When I go to the car I noticed these services weren't done. When the manager took her back in to have the services we paid for done she came back and her ears were soaking wet and not even cleaned. After much debate with manager I was offered a refund and at no time did I get an apology for stressing my pup out more by having to go back in to the salon. Store staff are rude and are not helpful. I wonder if management changed as everyone used to be so great and helpful. Wonder what happened here? Petsmart will no longer be getting our business ever. Don't waste your money there are also much more professional and affordable groomers out there and local who pet stores who actually want your business. read more

I went in the store yesterday to buy dewormer for my dog and both the woman behind the register and manager, Van were so helpful! I even called back with questions today and Van was happy to help and even told me to call back if I had more questions about the product I bought for my dog. Thank you so much, Van! Awesome customer service! read more

This is review is for petsmarts dog grooming, Britney was our groomer We took our schnauzer in today to be groomed an decided to take our dachshund in when he was finished for a nail trim. Upon picking up both there were two things that happened 1. Mylo tends to get red beard from a combination of food allergies we are working around and licking his chops a lot. We had specifically asked for no red to be left on his beard, just like the last time when a different groomer handled his cut, however he came back with a good amount of red around his beard, so already I was not 100% satisfied since I specifically asked for that particular piece of grooming. 2. As we were leaving, One of the groomers with faded blue hair mixed with other colors(we assume she was the groomer Britney but could be wrong) makes a comment about the collars our dachshund was wearing asking if he had behavioral problems. We responded that he does, and she replied by asking what training we use so she can avoid using it on her dogs in a very rude way. We told her it was the balanced dog program and she responded by asking if we knew that small dogs shouldn't use etraining collars, and if that brand we had was for smaller pets, again in a way suggesting we had not researched the training method for our dog. Lastly, she mentioned that our prong collar was also on wrong and that they should be loose and not snug on him. My issues with this are: The advice was completely unsolicited and delivered in a very rude way. Also her advice shows that she is not trained in the use of the collars in the following two ways. 1. The collar he has is a herm springer, top of the line and a rounded prong collar. Every manual and every dog blog explains that prong collars need to be worn snug and not loose because if worn loose it can cut or puncture the dog in a dangerous area when they pull too quickly. (Imagine the difference between someone resting their Palm on your cheek and then pushing forward, versus slapping you in the face from a distance to visualize what I mean). Additionally, our dog has been well trained for walks and walks with a loose leash so the collar rarely comes into play any,ore anyways. 2. There are pros and cons to the ecollar like all training methods, however we have thoroughly researched it and have made our own conclusions. In addition, we made sure our trainer used them on his own dog and had for several years without any emotional or behavioral problems. Additionally, the collar we use fits his neck, and very clearly was marked mini, which tells me she also didn't bother to look to see if it was the correct size for collar for his weight and breed, but likely was just trying to make her opinion known on her belief of the use of ecollars in general. However pascal has almost died because of his past behavioral problems several times, and led us to trying this training method, and ever since we started him,we have enjoyed a happier, closer relationship with him. We were very happy the first time our dog was groomed, and will give petsmart another try with the first groomer, but we love our dog to bits and have invested a lot of time and energy in his happiness and safety so we do not appreciate when a person we are hiring to clean our dog tells us we are hurting him or don't know what we're doing read more

I have been taking my Pomeranian-Chihuahua, Tyco to PetSmart in Tigard for two years now and just recently the groomer who cut Tyco's hair went elsewhere... I was pretty bummed. But, yesterday I wanted to get Tyco in before leaving town for the Holidays. Not expecting to get in because of the last minute-call. Anyway, I called early in the morning and Kel was able to get me onto her schedule the same day . I was a bit afraid because she was new to Tyco, but her words, "I'm confident that I will do a great job" made me feel comfortable with making the appointment. I explained to her that I was very picky about his fur (because he's part Pomeranian). I could tell that Kel wanted his cut to be perfect after calling me and asking me how I liked his face shaped, etc. during his appointment. When I picked him up I thought Kel did a WONDERFUL JOB, it's shorter than I expected because of my miscommunication with her, but it looked so good . You could tell she took her time in making sure he looked his best! Not only did my boyfriend and I like his haircut, but Tyco seemed to like it too. He wouldn't stop running around the house with a big smile when we got home. BIG thanks to Kel-- I would definitely let her groom Tyco again . read more

Tigard Petsmart and it's manager, Jennifer Darcy, are top notch! I am the Director of Agave Dogs Rescue and we save dogs from California, Texas and Mexico. Petsmart, Jennifer and their grooming department have all been amazing with assisting our organization with getting dogs adopted. Today we got in a Great Pyrenees dog from Texas who had traveled in a crate in a trailer for 3 days and 2,500 miles from Texas to Oregon. His fur was overgrown and reeked of excrement from the long trip. Jennifer's grooming team got us in immediately, mid-day and without an appointment AND donated the cost of the grooming session! With long haired dogs, grooming is crucial to helping them be clean, comfortable and presentable for adoption. Petsmart and Jennifer have always welcomed our organization into their store for adoption events whenever Agave Dogs Rescue feels the need to have one. Their employees are enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. We appreciate how proactive the store is with supporting rescue efforts of homeless pets needing placement. They bend over backwards to accommodate us and generously donate supplies and food to our rescued dogs so that we can continue to do this important work. Thank you Petsmart and Jennifer for being so hospitable and generous to local rescues! read more

About grooming. It took 3.25 hours to groom my 8 lb, 10 year old Shih tzu. When I complained, they (manager and employee) tried defending the time, saying they advertise to alot 3-4 hours. Not any apology, nothing, about taking 3+ hours to groom a Shih Tzu that had been groomed just 7 weeks prior. Fall back, we told you it might be so long. BUT WHY should it take 3-4 hours to groom a Shih tzu? How many dogs did they squeeze in while my dog was being groomed? How many dogs did they put on that groomer's table? The grooming job was average on top of it. Why should my dog be shoved aside to groom others? Is it the profit margin is larger on larger dogs? When I pushed about such a policy, the manager explained some dogs get stressed and it takes longer. The manager, maybe pushing 28 or 30 years old, hard telling since her hair was streaked purple, telling me - I, who have been an owner of dogs since 5 years old, both mutts and pure breds, most of my 60+ years, telling me about dogs and some taking longer than others and some taking longer because they get stressed. This manager, who never met my dog said that. This manager who didn't even bother to try to find out from the grooming person why it was taking 3+ hours to get my 8 lb dog groomed. I should figure out how many square inches per hour it took them to groom my dog. My Shih tzu, who is shy if you look at her wrong and then she freezes. Who has never had a groomer complain about her behavior except once, saying she moved her head a lot. Clearly Petsmart overbooks shamelessly and has no consideration for their human or animal clientele, having to keep my Shih tzu there for 3+ hours. It took me 2 hours when I groomed my 45 lb collie. Think twice about taking your dog there. They go by one policy, doesn't matter the dog size, the skill of the groomer, or their management. They just squawk policy. read more
