Even though the general staff here has been up and down with their customer service skills, I've had pretty good luck with the grooming salon over the years; they've done a solid job getting our retriever looking good. The pet food selection is fairly robust, as is the array of usual pet accessories. Prices are on the high side though. Parking situation is decent. read more

While I don't typically shop at Petsmart, I was super happy to find this location which is not far from my home. While searching online for a specific Kitty litter box to replace my cats' current box, the price for the Natures Miracle high side box was $11.99 vs $31.99 at Broadway Pets where I typically shop. Wahoo! While checking out the various aisles, I found Nulo Brand cat food which is what I feed my cats and it was also cheaper by a few dollars. Turns out this is where I will be buying their food going forward! With the large footprint, extracwude aisles and well stocked items, Petsmart feels like a Costco for pets. This location even has a pet training area. Plus a Banfield Oet Hospital attached, right next door. There is a hand sanitizer station set up to use right as you walk in. Curbside available if you call ahead or order online. And plenty of parking. Add friendly and efficient service to everything above and it is five stars all the way!! read more

We needed help with puppy behavior training and signed up for the beginner, intermediate and advanced package here with Monica. She's absolutely amazing through and through! Classes max out at 6 pets and do fill up so I recommend calling and signing up as soon as you decide you need the class. I love that at the beginning of each class, Monica checks in with all the trainers about updates/new questions. She takes the time to know your dog and gives evidence-based behavioral recommendations. She's really knowledgeable and cares about each dog she works with. I'm giving this PetSmart 4 stars because of the grooming. We've taken our pup here twice for grooming. Prior to the last visit, I use our home scissors to trim here and there for our pup with no issues. After that 2nd grooming visit, our pup suddenly developed a fear of scissors! I had to slowly introduce her back to being tolerant of scissors... it took awhile. Let's just say, my partner and I have since decided to groom her ourselves at home. Needless to say, aside from the grooming, I've always had great experiences here. The customer service is excellent! read more

I tried to pick up an order. I waited at least 15 minutes only to be told that the order had just been cancelled. I did not bring the means to pay for a a second order. I wasted a great deal of time and gas only to leave empty handed. I wish they had been more transparent around their re-shelving policy or even heaven forbid provided some customer service. In general I find staff in this store to be unhelpful. Given how long waits typically are I'm surprised they have the staff to re-shelve items so quickly. 2 stars for the store because the staff is friendly and they have a decent selection of things but as far as the groomers go I give them 0 stars. There one or two nice groomers who seem to understand what it takes to groom dogs but the rest are definitely in the wrong profession and seem to not even like dogs as they are not welcoming or do anything to ease dogs anxiousness. My dog won't let us cut her nails so you figure taking her to a dog groomer would be a good idea. Petsmart offers a cheep express package that includes bath, nails cut, anal glands, paw pad cleaning, brushing and some other things for $30 so who wouldn't take them up on that offer? My dog gets anxious and is part husky so she is also vocal which I know can be annoying so as a courtesy we told them that when we called as well as called before we came in to see if they wanted me to wait outside if they were busy so they don't have to listen to her yelp (we already knew to book an express clean due to their recommendation from previous times), but they assured me it's fine. The girl who helped me seemed to keep asking me questions as if she was trying to get out of the service but there was nothing wrong with my dog being there. Then when she walked my dog to the back room she was literally choking my dog practically pulling her off the ground with an extremely tight choke leach and never even said hello to my dog-she seemed miserable and told me it will be at least 2-3 hours for my dog specifically (it's supposed to be 30 minutes). With a smile I said okay thank you and left to grocery shop since it was going to be so long. It wasn't but 15 minutes later they called and said we need to pick her up immediately bc she's too vocal sitting in the kennel and needs to go. So I quickly got the groceries I had and went to get her. She was sopping wet and her nails barely looked cut and nothing else was done but I still had to pay the full amount of $33 and no one seemed to know anything about a $10 credit they were offering with service (which was another reason why we went). The girl who checked me out was nice enough but no one even says a word to the dogs and are just overall very rude. My dog couldn't get out of there fast enough. All the dogs there seemed very unhappy and stressed clearly bc of the lack of training, unfriendliness, and cold personalities the staff has. I usually bath my dog at home which is way more worth it instead of building her anxiety due to people who hate their job and quite possibly dogs in general not to mention do a terrible job all around -so even if your lucky, I guarantee your pet will not receive everything offered bc they seem to always cut corners and hope you don't notice because the only goal they seem to have is to get your dog out of there as soon as possible. Words of advice do not groom your dog here bc chances are you will regret every penny! read more

With COVID19 causing the closure of most pet grooming salons, finding a dog groomer to pinch hit during the forced closure is not an easy task. Furthermore, the mobile groomers are all booked from four to 12 weeks out. The hidden solution for me came in the form of Laurie at the PetSmart on Dartmouth near Costco In Tigard. Check your receipt carefully when making purchases at this store, I was overcharged twice by same cashier, one time $380 more than I should have been. Cashiers are not paying attention or as I found out from my conversation with their corporate office, this is a way to pocket some money at the end of the day. The fact that it happened the second time made me very uncomfortable with their cashiers and purchases made there. Just had the most horrible experience with the groomers. Well one in particular... who decided to call me a dumbass thinking that I had left the room when really I was crouched down putting the harness on my dog. My Chihuahua mix is a very nervous dog especially when getting her nails trimmed . I used to go to a groomer who knew this about her and could handle her wiggles and get the job done for me. I have since moved and thought I'd try out this PetSmart. I explained her nervous behavior before leaving her in the hands of Christian. When they called me to pick her up he explained that they could only get her front paws bc she was too wiggly and kicking too much. They also told me they used the nail grinder which is not what I asked for. I was understanding and figured nail grinder vs nail trim was a miscommunication and was willing to walk out paying full price a half completed job. Knowing that my dog can be challenging. That is until woman with short blonde hair, a groomer who I hadn't had any correspondence with, decided to call me a dumbass! When I stood up and announced I was still present and she needed to check herself she quickly apologized and was clearly caught with her foot in her mouth . At this point I demanded a refund bc not only was the job not done, my dogs nails looked like shit btw & she was bleeding, but on top of that I was direspected and called a DUMBASS!!! I can't remember the last time I was called a name by anyone. That kind of behavior is juvenile. I was given a refund which I am grateful for but I will not be returning to that store. This person still has a job there!! The store manager said it will "go on her file" This person was extremely rude, disrespectful & the total opposite of compassionate... All the traits you don't want in someone handling your dog. ... I just read all of these reviews about rude customer service in the grooming Dept. DON'T take your dog here for a groom - unless you want him to come home cut up and yelping when he walks around because they cut him in four places and didn't tell you about it. Actually, let me correct that: they blamed one cut on his private parts to a potential lump and swelling- which are in fine condition and just have a nice slice in them now. Granted, that was the only cut I left knowing about and found his ear leathers with a significant amount dried blood on them, one of his quicks bleeding and a cut on his tail. No wonder he started loosing it and wouldn't let you finish so he came home unfinished. And they had the audacity to suggest a potential pre-existing problem on the single cut I left knowing about. You might say, oh, you just got a bad groomer. But I've tried this place three times and not had a consistent experience and often if I request the same groomer, they're no longer there. Take your dog and your money elsewhere. You'll both be much happier. Update: They will work with you to make a wrong experience right. I went to the attached Banfield and they covered the bill and my dog's medical needs and reimbursed the grooming fee. read more

I have always preferred Petsmart to Petco. This particular one was very accommodating to me... I bought a small, cute pet mouse for my little girl to have as her very own first pet, along with a cage, bedding, food, one of those balls they can run around on the floor in, the whole works. We tried it out and it just wasn't working :( I took everything, mostly opened, back to the pet store and explained it to them. They refunded EVERYTHING, no questions asked. Though I do feel like this place is understaffed, when you do get someone to help you, even if you have to wait a minute or two, they are helpful and friendly which goes a long way with me. I've been using this PetSmart for purchasing crickets and supplies for my nieces bearded dragon for over a year now. The staff has always been very friendly and knowledgeable. Usually Matt helps me with getting crickets and despite how busy it gets he always has a friendly disposition and remains professional. I purposely drives a little extra out of my way to this location because I enjoy the staff more than the one closer to me. My buddy shops here regularly and I came along today. It's easy to get to, but what really struck me was the size. The square footage may not be very different than most, but it FEELS palatial! The entryway has standard 12-foot ceilings but just inside it opens up to 30-foot ceilings, and they do a decent job of using the space. I felt like a character in "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids!" when looking at the 6-foot tall parrot looming overhead and the 4-foot long hamster running in a giant exercise wheel. Selection is pretty standard, and my buddy had little trouble finding a 15-pound bad of rabbit food. You can also take advantage of grooming services and an on-site animal hospital. read more

Cait grooms my two dogs. Since I am unable to have children, my dogs are as close as I get to having them. I love them so much and only allow people to care for them who are professional, kind and in her case, talented. My 10 year old poodle has had $7000 of orthopedic surgeries on her back legs which Cait patiently listened to me explain. She is gentle with her and my furbaby loves her. THIS REVIEW IS FOR ALL TERRIER RESCUE, A SHELTER THAT DOES ADOPTION EVENTS AT THIS LOCATION. Every employee of this Petsmart has been awesome, and I hate to leave a 1 star for them but I'm hoping they will reconsider allowing this rescue to conduct adoption events at their store. I have been to two different adoption events at the Tigard Petsmart and both times I was shocked by how exceptionally rude and condescending Shannon was. She's the main lady with the short black hair and every single person she interacted with she treated as if they were an idiot. She refused to answer questions about any of the dogs, saying, "obviously you didn't read anything on our website..." (and they literally have no information or bios about any of the dogs on their website), yelled at her co-workers in front of everyone, and snapped at people who were looking at dogs, trying to tell them they were interacting with the dogs wrong (I've raised and trained dogs my whole life, nothing anyone was doing was wrong, she told one guy who was comforting a dog that was a bit nervous that he was "reinforcing bad behavior" and that he was basically teaching the dog to hate people..) They have lots of beautiful sweet dogs but with their main point of contact being so outstandingly awful to everyone they're never going to find their forever homes. I challenge you to go to one of their adoption events, interact with Shannon, and not leave feeling angry. Great place! Sometimes it's really hard to beat the convenience that big businesses afford! Pet stores are my Jam! I try to shop local businesses for all my pet needs! I only buy my cat treats and food at local stores! Big stores can't keep brands on hand that are super fresh and expensive! They supply in bulk! I run shelter dogs on the weekend and need superior leashes and other tools. I feel really bad about returning things, to the local stores, that don't make the grade! I don't feel guilty about returning items at big box stores! I needed a chain leash today! I have a leash biter and need a bite proof leash! I can't have an escapee! I did shop at a couple local places first! I won't say where! I was told that chain leashes are mean and that they would hurt the dogs teeth! Barf! I'd rather not have an escapee! I went into petsmart (normally i go to the tualatin location but i was on the other side of town so ended up going into the tigard location) with my 2 puppies. One is a 80 pound doberman who is 7 months old and the other is a 4 month siberian husky. It was a challenge enough to get my over excited doberman to calm down so we could walk polietly through the store. He loves people and dogs so when he saw all the people and dogs he instantly wanted to play. This is my own bad as i should have probably tuckered him out before i took him to a favorite store of his. My husky ended up having an accident. As i was trying to find someone to help me no one was really available until a worker asked me if i needed paper towel to clean the accident. I said could you possibly help me as i wont be able to clean it very well with 2 puppies stepping in it and tracking throughout the store. She didnt reply and left. I overheard a worker say great the owner didnt want to clean it so now we have to. As i was checking out i guess my pup didnt finish pooping so he had another little accident by the check out. I apologized to the cashier and the worker came over to me and said you need to take your dog to the vet his poop is kinda runny but if you dont know huskies they often have soft stomach as puppies and sometimes get runny stool. I also explained i have tried another type of food because his last one wasnt agreeing with him. I should not have to explain this, they should have understood sometimes puppies cant control their bladders and if i would have known he was going to go potty i would have taken him outside. I did not intentionally bring him in there to poop as they made it seem that way. then the worker said quote on quote maybe next time you should leave the puppies inside if you cant pick up their poop. Its not that i wasnt capable of that, i didnt want my dogs to step in it and track it through the store so i tried asking for help. Overall everyone was extremely rude and i will not be returning to this location. These people work at a pet store and a puppy having an accident should not be a big deal and cause workers to be this rude. read more

I've had various groomers at Petsmart in Tigard. I found Brittany and she does a wonderful job with my two boys. They are both poodle mixes. When Brittany took some time off we used Cait and Bre both did a wonderful job too. I work around Brittany's schedule so the boys can get groomed by her. They love to see her and one even falls asleep on the table. When Brittany is not available we see Cait who does an amazing job with the boys as well. We are very happy to have found two talented groomers at our local Petsmart! read more
