I've visited this groomer once before and was very happy with the first result which is why I came back. The first time around I was told that they prefer leaving the hair a bit longer and if I'd like more trimmed off then taking more off rather than too much up front. The first time around I had shown a picture of what I wanted and got exactly that so when I asked for the same this time I wasn't too happy with the result. Personally I only wanted a trim and feel like they cut off way to much. Especially up top and around her paws (I can see her toenails) and between her eyes. I don't like the shaved off look between the eyes and would've preferred having a similar result to when I first visited as that is what I was going for. I'd recommend showing pictures as references as they do well with executing those. read more

We weren't quite sure how he'd do but we were told he was of great assistance and very patient til it was his turn. Amazing and wonderful! My new groomer!! They got my pup in when I needed it most. I was going through something personal and they were beyond kind and loving to me. I didn't feel judged with the matting on my pup (caused by what I was going through) I can't be more thankful for their kindness. I saw my pup take to them instantly and when we left I could tell my pup had made a connection by giving her groomer lots of kisses, something I had not seen her do before! I could tell she was treated with love and care. When I went to pay the owner got word of what I was going through and offered a very generous gift. For that I so appreciate. I have been looking for a dog groomer here in Oregon for about a month that wasn't PetSmart and I am so glad I found Bark Avenue. Sunshine did a GREAT job with my very difficult and temperamental labradoodle!

I took my dog into Bark Avenue PDX for the first time this past week. We had an appointment with Donnalee, she was amazing! My dog was a bit tougher of a groom, I was nervous to take him in, she was very reassuring that she had the skills to help, and she delivered! I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I think my dog would agree. The second I met her, I felt like she would take good care of him and when I came to pick him up after, I was blown away by how great of a job she did and how relaxed he seemed. Aside from how impressed I was with her, the set up of the business also made me feel like he was safe. When you walk in, it's not just an open room where you can see everything, you walk into a check in/out room the has a door and then there is another room with a half door,that you can see into and that's where they groom. I liked the safely of that. I highly recommend this place and Donnalee. We will be back! read more
