While Julie & her staff are great with grooming services, what Julie especially excels at is her love & gentle care for our dogs. We had a horrible experience at a big name pet store where I saw staff being rough with my sweet & gentle senior dog & it broke my heart. My wife and I stopped in to give our pup a wash at the self-wash station and the whole experience was wonderful. We're new dog owners and figuring all of this out as we go. I tried this groomer on recommendation from the Yelp reviews. It was a big mistake. I'm happy I found a way to post pictures of my Shitzu on Yelp. One picture is worth a thousand words.. Choppy, chicken feet, unsymmetrical face. A First grade child could do better with baby scissors. When I called and complained, the receptionist hung up on me. They couldn't have fixed it anyway. All Paws is awesome. My dog HATES having his nails trimmed. He screams, struggles, and acts like he's being murdered. I've had other groomers try and fail in Portland. My vet tried and gave up, then told me they would need to sedate him to get his nails trimmed. I've tried all sorts of things at home to get him used to having his paws touched more often, but haven't succeeded in making him any better when the nail clippers get near a paw. The team at All Paws is always awesome. They are fast and efficient and really nice about it, even though my dog makes terrible noises and grows. I am so impressed with how well they handle him--- they keep him safe and get the job done and slowly but surely he's getting better about the process. I also like their dog wash facilities. The place is very clean and friendly and they are just wonderful. I wish I could give even more stars. read more

It's like she suddenly gets possessed and becomes the most aggressive crazy alien inside a little pug body and three people have to hold her down and then use bandaids after she bites them. Yet somehow Julie is a dog whisperer and Lucy (the pug dog) just lets her do anything. I've watched. It's actual magic. I don't understand but I don't need to. I just know she's a godsend. read more

First of all, I love my dog more than I love people. I take a lot of time researching his medical care, his dental care, his treats, his food, his vaccines, etc. His grooming is no different! Julie and Selena are as wonderful as they come. Extremely knowledgeable with breeds and the do/donts! I have a Siberian Husky/Samoyed mix and he uses all his strength when he is in the bath tub as if his life depended on it. His behavior is crazy, he loves the ocean and rivers--any water on his own terms. But bath? He scratches her arms, and the whole time Julie keeps her cool (Selena too, my dog required all three of us to restrain his 43lb furry butt at first--which is less than the 5 people it takes at the vet) and patiently but sternly talks to my fluffy. Over the course of a few baths, my dog already has started to have some calm moments more and moreso each time as he grows to trust he isn't dying. I had been bathing him on my own as best as I could (prior to finding All Paws) since I adopted him with no such calm moments! Samoyeds are very attached to their person, and my dog is no different. He is impossible if I am not there--the vets can tell you all about trying to give him vaccines/drawing blood without my presence and he will not hold still with multiple vet techs and the vet trying to calm him and restrain him. With me there, no one even has to restrain him. He is strong! But he has it in his head that bath time is a terrible time. He is learning such is not true--huskies are stubborn! I adopted him from the Humane Society and his previous owners never bathed him and his during first grooming at OHS, they cut him really badly behind his ear. Thanks to Julie and Selena's patience and care, my Westley has come to not dread bathtime the way he used to! I spent a long time seeking out the most professional and competent groomer extraordinaires and Julie and Selena have a clear and obvious passion for dogs. I will trust no one else! read more

This place is amazing! Julie & Selena were so calm, patient & loving with my 4 month old Whoodle! We had a very bad experience at The Scooby Shack (see my review on Yelp). After searching Yelp, I brought Brighton here to get her beyond our bad experience & get her bad haircut fixed. They were so gentle & understanding with my puppy! I've been going to Julie since 2014 and refuse to go anywhere else! Even after moving to Gresham, I'll gladly sit 45 minutes in traffic to get my bubs groomed. She's trustworthy, does a great job, and loves Zeus as much as I love him! One time I was running late to pick him up and I walk in to find him chasing ball with one of the employees and the shop dog Abby. They kept him entertained and played with him instead of being annoyed with my tardiness! And although I've mentioned only Julie, everyone there does an amazing job. All I have to do when I call is say "Zeus the white frenchie" and she knows exactly who I'm talking about :) highly recommend! read more

Wow! These ladies are bonafide dog-lovers and treated my two doggos like rock stars. While I was dropping them off, I saw two other dogs come in and both looked happy to be there. This was a first visit for my 11-year old Coton de Tulear and 5-year-old Cavalier and they both finished up looking BOOFUL! My older guy can be a bit fearful, but he was happy and playful when I picked them up, no anxiety at all. I came in for a quick consult and we talked about her temperament and what kind of cut would be best as this age, then brought her in the next day for her appointment. Called to arrange an appointment for our 14 year old Yorky-poo. Owner refused to groom our dog because of her age. She is sweet and lovable and was a source of great joy to my mother-in-law until she recently passed away. What an Ageist decision! No offer to try to help. I was excited about this place since it had such great reviews but my experience was different. First, I was told it would take approximately 3 hours and to call at a certain time to check in. They called me 45 mins earlier than I was supposed to check in and said my dog was finished. I was downtown and asked if I could come at the original time they had told me. They told me no bc my dog was barking. (Obviously, he's a dog, they do that!) When I arrived they had him leashed on top of a table. Then, they complained about him even more. His hair was cut so uneven and even the lady that cut it said she couldn't get it straight but didn't offer to do anything about it or discount the price. Will definitely not be back! read more

I come here for the dog wash. The groomers are always very nice, and have all of the grooming equipment available for rent as well. The facility is clean, and always smells fresh. I usually spend 2-3 hours here, grooming my little guy, so I really get to see how they work with animals. I can honestly say, I have never met kinder or more patient groomers. This is our local groomer and they are great!!! We have been taking our labradoodle here since we moved to this neighborhood about a year ago. They cut how you ask them to and pricing is reasonable and they are flexible with pickup and dropoff. After taking my dog on a fishing trip to Eastern Oregon last fall I found several burrs deep in my dogs paw pads that I couldn't get out with scissors, tweezers, etc and my poor dog was really suffering. I took him here without even calling ahead and they interupted what they were doing and had the burrs out in minutes! This is a great business, highly recommended! read more

We just moved to the area and love the self wash here. It's no nonsense, and you get what you need to get the job done quickly. The staff has always been friendly. The first time we went in with our new puppy, one of the groomers was nice enough to stop what she was doing to help us out. We've bathed many adult dogs, but it's been years since bathing a pup.
