Lame. I paid for the works to clean up my moms dog so she could see him before she died. He looked shiny but still was shedding when I paid for the fulminator and his ears still looked dirty. They didn't trim his nails either. He won't be going there again. Pets Mart is fine for supplies, but for grooming stick to small family owned businesses. read more

I've taken my dog here a few times for dog grooming but the last time was the worst experience. I dropped her off earlier than her appointment time at 11AM. There were three people ahead of me and about six to eight groomers. I was told it would be about three hours. I never got a phone call but I went back around 3PM. The person who retrieved her asked who was her groomer then turned to me and said, "I'm sure she's done." Her nails were trimmed from what I can see but it seemed like they sprayed her down with dog spray. I will never go back here again! read more

It was our first time to drop off at doggy camp. The camp/hotel smelled like urine. The grooming salon didn't smell much better. Neither the hotel check-in staff, nor the grooming staff showed much interest in us... barely making eye contact. The groomer was awesome. read more

Incompetent Adoption employee didn't allow us to save a cat. We couldn't adopt a pet because Donna didn't like the fact that a cat we were interested in was going to be an indoor/outdoor cat. Great job, Donna, now the cat will remain in its cage... much better, right? Went to Petco and we adopted one from there instead. They even gave us an outdoor tag for the cat to wear for WHEN he goes out! read more

I take my dog to get her nails clipped here - i like the groomers. I like this location. Seems cleaner then others and I like the set up.

I booked my grooming appointment online for 6pm. Groomer calls me and says the website is wrong and there is no 6pm appointment. Wants me to come in at 5pm instead. So now I have to take an hour off work to be there at a time that is convenient for my groomer. If the website is wrong, fix it! Pets hotel: I wish the staff there would acknowledge you when you come in, instead of keeping you waiting for 15 mins with your scared dogs barking around you, and totally ignoring you, down to the eye contact (let me make sure I don't look at this person who just came in!). I wish they would expedite the check-in process and show more empathy. A drop off is always a stressful experience for pets as well as dog owners but the staff there really does not care. I only met one young lady there who was top notch. I wish I'd have asked her name. She was awesome (Indian ethnicity, super nice, customer friendly and engaged). read more

My English bull dog died...her name was Levi. In the care of these people's hands. Very disappointed my 2 year old English bull dog puppy died in the care of their hands. They almost didn't want to give my money back after Levi died the 2nd day there. Don't go here. read more

I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED IN GROOMING SERVICE.I called Highland Village and Lewisville but both locations were booked for a week and this location had several openings today .. now I see why. Whenever I ask Moose if he wants to go to Petsmart for a bath he goes nuts. He is so happy with the staff, kisses all around. By the way, I am very pleased as well. Moose always gets a perfect cut and looks great when I pick him up. Too bad, Moose being a Bichon-Poo, he doesn't stay clean long. read more

This Petsmart has a great selection for all pets. I bought a 75 gallon aquarium here and Zachary went above and beyond in helping me get the product I wanted ordered and then spent extra time making sure it was well protected for the ride home when we picked it up. We are frequent customers to Petsmart and Petco and I prefer Petsmart. Petsmart is cleaner and laid out better. They also have Banfield animal clinic and that is where our pets go. So far they have been friendly when we get pet supplies, from the time we walk through the door all the way to check out. We get Blue Buffalo pet food and they always have it in stock. read more

We bought a starter puppy kit when we got our dog. It had a coupon in it for a full day at the doggie day camp. Well first, you have to have your dog neutered to take him there (which is understandable) HOWEVER, by the time you can even get your dog neutered and recover from the surgery, the coupon has expired. So we were able to talk them into letting us still use the coupon. When we picked our dog up that night, he smelled like urine, had poop smeared all over his butt, and his paws were dirty. They told us they never took him outside...so I'm guessing his paws are dirty due to stepping in poop. I don't know...needless to say we will not be going back. Also, the price you would normally pay for the doggie day camp is crazy. read more

Was not impressed with the front staffing of the pet hotel. I stopped by to get pricing and to check out the facilities only to be met by an individual whose demeanor was off putting. Despite it seeming like I was annoying her with the three or four questions I posed, I looked past it and decided to set up an appointment anyway giving her the benefit of the doubt that she may just be having a bad day. I started off giving her my last name which happens to contain an apostrophe that some computer systems can and can't handle. I initially gave her the non-apostrophe version which she could not find in the system. Since she advised me she couldn't find our last name in the initial search so she was convinced that our pet had never stayed in a Petsmart pet hotel even though I knew he had at another location. I mentioned this to her only to be interrupted with an impatient inquiry of my phone number. By this time I was starting to get annoyed and I'm pretty sure she could see it but chose to ignore anything I said from that point on. I must have tried to tell her at least three times that we may have used my husbands contact information and a couple of mentions that we may be in the system as O'Key. SHE COMPLETELY IGNORED ALL OF MY COMMENTS AND INSISTED ON CHECKING HIM IN AS A NEW customer. Needless to say halfway through the check in I told her to forget it which apparently she was able to hear. Worse yet after seeing that I was completely annoyed at the time her final response to me was OK without any follow up to see if there was a reason for my change of heart. Her demeanor remained unchanged and the impression I was getting was she could care less if we gave her the business or not. I did complain to the manager and he said he would take care of it but I'm posting this to make sure that my complaint is on record. My experience with Petsmart has been very good up to this point. If an employee doesn't want to be there she can always leave. It's like I said to the manager - if she can't handle me (who by the way is very laid back) then how will she treat my puppy during their stay? If you love your fur baby as much as I do, don't bring them to this location! I wish I had yelped this location prior to my visit so I could have avoided this frustrating experience. Worst experience ever. We have taken our dogs there many many times in the past. If they all would have stopped talking long enough to see that I was there, the process would have started a lot more smoothly. I dropped them off and they called me later to let me know that they were ready. When I got there, they let me know that they could not cut his nails. That was never an issue before with not being able to cut his nails. When I got home I realized that my girl dog was doused with some kind of fragrance. It is awful. As our boy dog was lying down, I noticed that they did not even trim his tail. He looked like a squirrel. I called the manager the next day to let her know what happened and she offered to make it right. I had to bring him in that day in order to make it him look less ridiculous. For all of this I had the pleasure of paying full price. read more

They sell sick guinea pigs. I bought a GP for my son, only to realize he was sick with a URI (which could be deadly) later the same day. Was told over the phone that I could bring him back to be treated by a vet, which I did the next day. Upon arriving, I handed the little guy to "Chad" & had decided that I didn't to upset my son further by having to wait for him to get better, so I purchased another. This one looked totally fine & I told Chad to keep me updated ...when he was well & I would come back to get him. A week later after no word, I went back & saw Chad. He said the little guy was doing better, but still having a breathing issue. He said he was to see the vet again in 2 days & would keep me updated. At that visit, i also met a woman & her son who had purchased an albino GP from the SAME cage & that one was also sick. That was the last I heard from him. No one can tell me anything when I call & I haven't seen Chad again when I get the time to drop in. Oh, and the second Guinea Pig we bought? Came down with a URI 8 days later after i brought him home. I couldn't imagine taking him back to the store to "treat him", as I firmly believe they never do. We almost lost him, but with round the clock care, seeing our GP savvy vet & syringe feedings, he is doing much better. We will now only adopt our small animals from rescues. I only wish I had known about them before. Run, don't walk, away from this store. read more

We can't say enough good things about our experiences with the Petsmart in Southlake. We have a puppy how loves to see Bob in hotel for Doogy Day Camp. It is great to be able to take our dog to a safe place to play and interact with other dogs. Bob has always been so helpful and kind to us and our high energy puppy. We also go to raining classes there. Scot is the best. Scott has helped us and our puppy to really develop our puppy's skills. He is so patient and really cares about what happens with the puppy. Overall we have had a wonderful experience at this Petsmart. read more

I take my puppy Barrett to puppy training there and we are both really learning a lot! He loves the Trainer Amanda. Today Amanda and I had a private consultation set up to cover some upcoming material for 2 weeks worth of classes we will be missing due to our family vacation out of town. We each ended up marking a different start time on our calendars, so when we showed up at the store Amanda was not available. One of the Managers, Andi, gladly listened to our story and attempted to reach Amanda, and while waiting even stepped right in and pulled the appropriate worksheets for the next lessons from the files, reviewed Amanda's notes and began covering the material with us and answering our questions! Andi was obviously very busy, as employees checked with her for various things, but she fit us into her schedule without us knowing any different. I did not expect that and was pleasantly surprised by the high level of service we received. Scott, the head animal trainer, and the cashiers are always very nice to me and my dog when we go there to buy food or toys. Their recommendations on products and techniques to use has been excellent so far. They even helped me with what to look for in a pet boarder while out of state! I feel like we have new friends who actually care about us at Petsmart, and have never felt that way anywhere else. I currently groom my own dog, but am so pleased that in a pinch I would give them my dog to groom and would consider boarding him there too if we ever need that service. We have taken our Cocker Spaniels to this Petsmart since we moved to Southlake in 2005. All of the groomers have been so kind and considerate towards Romeo and Juliet and now towards Domino. Every grooming session has been perfect and the dogs have looked so pretty afterwards. Romeo and Juliet absolutely love Robin and now Domino does too. We also buy all of our dog food here as well as other pet supplies and will continue to do so as long as we have our dog companions. read more

I will be taking my business somewhere else. I have taken my dog here to get her nails trimmed - not impressed. Also, I have experienced extremely rude employees. I was walking around the store looking for a certain item (for MY CAT), and I happened to walk by the cat adoption area. My dog was not even paying attention to the cats (they don't phase her at all) and to make sure the cats didn't get spooked I kept my dog as far away from the glass/plastic as possible. (FYI, I nursed newborn kittens back to health while my dog kept an eye on and mothered them.) Unfortunately, one of the cats jumped from seeing my (very little) dog. I giggled because it startled me. Just then the employee inside of the cat adoption area (behind the cages) glared at me and asked rudely if I thought that was "funny". I could not believe that an EMPLOYEE would dare talk to anyone like that. I'm disgusted. She then had the nerve to glare at me as I walked off. I'm not saying the store is horrible, but I refuse to shop at a store that has employees that talk to me like that. read more

I brought my small dog to Southlake for a second time (first time was OK but still took over 4 hours and no attempt to trim v long nails). I had him there at 8:45am, he was the first in. By 2pm I still hadn't heard from them, so I popped in while running errands. He was in a cage and the groomer said she was going to go on break then start grooming - this is 5+ hours later! I was fuming. She said he was feisty while blow drying so they "air dried" him -- in a cage! He was freaked out. So was I. I had told them at dropoff he's a sensitive dog all around and needed to be handled gently. Sensitive skin, sensitive paws etc. I am still so mad they couldn't even call me to discuss the situation. I would AVOID Petsmart grooming everywhere. We had a bad experience at the Watauga store too - my dog was howling while they kept grinding away at his sensitive paws. And he spent three days licking his paws afterward. I gave them another try at the Southlake store and regret it. The groomers are tatted up with earrings in every spot possible. Very unprofessional and neglectful to these animals all around. I subsequently took him to another local salon, giving them the same heads up about sensitivy. he was in and out in 2 hours, and actually asleep in his quarters when i arrived. Happy as a lark! I shop at the Petsmart in Watauga regularly and love it. This particular day my usual Petsmart was out of my cat food. So, I ordered and requested store pickup at this location since I was in Southlake most of the afternoon. My daughter and I went in to pick up my food items and to also look at some hamster stuff. An employee (I won't say any names) asked if we needed help and I politely declined. She proceeded to literally follow us around as if she was watching over us. It was so awkward and annoying. We'd turn a corner, there she was. She asked questions as if we had no idea what we were doing. I've been in the animal health industry for 15 years. No that I'm an animal pro, but if I needed something I would of said yes when she asked me. Finally we get up to the check out line. Guess who checks us out? Yep. More questions, then a call to the manager to grab my food that I ordered. Manager came up, said nothing, no hello, nothing. Then we stood there for 10 minutes while he looked for my order. Finally found it and handed me a bad of food and a grocery bag of canned food that had fallen out of cardboard container. Thanks. Pretty safe to say I won't be going back to that store. More than annoying and unprofessional. read more

I had to board my dogs over the weekend for a last minute trip out of town. They told me they had a special of buy one night and get one free so I could I could drop our dogs up on Saturday and pick them up any time up to Monday morning. We cam back a little early and went to get them on Sunday afternoon. They charged me $30 more than what was agreed on. They said it we would have come in on Monday, it would be cheaper but since we came a day early, they have to charge us an extended fee? REALLY??? I argued with them because it made no sense. Sounds like some deceptive practices going on over there just to get more money. Then, to make matters worse, when they brought my dogs out, they were both covered in pee. Like soaking wet pee. It seemed like they left them in their room all day/night and never took them out. I felt so bad for my puppies. I will never use this "Pets Hotel" again. read more

I will never take my dog back to Petsmart in Southlake for a grooming. I've had other issues with their grooming department, such as not getting a call when the grooming was complete, being placed on hold indefinitely when trying to set up an appointment, and the groomer not following explicit instructions. Despite these shortcomings (and a hefty price of about $85 per grooming), I came back out of sheer convenience. At the prior grooming, I was told that my dog would not allow her nails to be trimmed, which had never been an issue before. Nevertheless, I informed the groomer at the most recent grooming appointment to be careful with the nails and that the dog might resist, thinking there could be another issue such as arthritis or other soreness. When I received a call to pick up the dog, I was told that they again could not trim the dog's nails and that the dog was "stressed." I immediately went to pick up the dog, only to find out that it had barely been trimmed at all, with the exception of the hind legs. This, after leaving explicit instructions that the dog needed to be trimmed slightly longer than a shave. The dog also was not dry, had not been completely brushed out (judging from all the loose hair), and the dog's face had not been washed, as there was still grime in the corners of the dog's eyes. It's evident the Southlake Petsmart grooming department simply wants to churn as many animals through their doors as possible, with little regard for quality, customer service or value. read more
