This used to be my favorite place to take my dog. I moved and was still driving over an hour to take my pup. However, yesterday changed that. Not only were they rude and took over 2 hours to groom my small dog, they cut him pretty bad. It was the worst haircut he's ever had. It looks like someone who's never groomed a dog, cut his hair. She had him over 2 hours and blamed him for not being able to sit still. He's a dog. Then, we got home and noticed there was blood everywhere, a lot of blood. He had a horrible cut on his paw. I won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend taking your dog if they move at all. read more

I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but in this case we are sorely disappointed in this groomer. We have an eight month old puppy who only had three services with HipPups. After the third, they are denying service to him any longer, citing 'safety' as the issue, even though his cut looks fine. I understand puppies can be challenging, but to be refused service altogether is disheartening. On top of this encounter, they also pushed a trainer on my older dog, because it's slightly challenging to get a leash on him. I feel we would've had one more visit with our other dog, and they would quickly refuse service to him after that. It came with no warning on our little pup. We have never been treated this way with our pups. We will not be returning here. Only use this place if your puppy is low energy. Be warned that they WILL turn you away if a puppy is too energetic, and recommend something expensive such as a vet groomer when there are better alternatives. read more

Whenever I call there is never availability and the employees have been so rude lately. I have been going to Hippups for 10 years, so I expect to be treated like family. The prices are to high and I feel like my puppy is just another number. They chopped the heck out of her hair the last time I took my puppy. They charged me a full haircut to trim up around her face and butt for my puppies first hair cut. I'm looking for a new place to have my baby pampered. I'd recommend finding another location for your baby. read more

We took Lil' Lucy here spontaneously after finding a few places in the area online to try out. Glad we chose this one. I really loved this place! They were much faster than I expected them to be. Last time I took a pet to a groomer, they kept him all day. I appreciated that Lucy got her spa treatment as soon as we arrived at the scheduled time. Lucy had a full grooming service plus some extras and she was ready in less than an hour. Her hair was cut perfectly! It takes me half a day and never looks great, so I was impressed. The prices are much less than I'd expected too. This shop is unique, has style and seems like something I'd find out in San Francisco or Seattle. We're taking Lucy back for sure. read more

The complained about my 1 year old mini poodle because he isn't completely used to the grooming process and I'm guessing the just got annoyed with him and didn't bother to brush him out and they just buzzed him all over and left him looking like a little naked rat. I'm very upset with the condescending way the groomer talked to me and how she left my dog looking after paying $120.00 for a 30 min job. Never taking my dog here again, and you should definitely find somewhere else too if you want a quality job. read more

So disappointed in this grooming business!!! I've taken my dog twice, and he had a beautiful groom. That's what I would expect by the high prices they charge. However today, I was 7 minutes late due to making a wrong turn on the way, so they canceled my appointment! I did not have a history of being late previously. I couldn't believe it! My doctor wouldn't even do that! They simply apologized and said that's their policy. They don't care if they lose a customer! I have no idea of what the groomer did when she had more than enough time to groom my tiny dog that had previously been groomed 5 weeks earlier. I would not recommend this groomer due to the lack of concern and respect for their customers, and their ridiculous, rigid 5 minute late cancellation policy!!!!!! read more

Took my Corgi there this am for a bath, nails, teeth and a butt trim. Their website doesn't list the cost for this service which upon checkout was $110. I was blown away by their excessive fee. PETCO in Highland Village charges me $63 for the same service. Needless to say you can rob me once but not twice, they must be Democrats !!! read more

I had been bringing my dogs to The Nosey Dog for years. Barbie and Korie were amazing. After my first dog passed, the whole salon sent me a handwritten card telling stories about him and expressing sympathies. I vowed to never go anywhere else after that. When I got my new rescue baby, I knew he was a bit more of a handful (very excitable). But Barbie and Korie took good care of him and always made sure to schedule an extra person, time to make sure he was safe, and that he came out looking like a stud. Then came another fur baby, but he was used to being groomed. He never needed special accommodations. And another who is a hunting dog and skittish around new people. I always appreciated Barbie because I didn't feel judged if I went a little too long between grooms (they're maltipoos so can get a bit matted). They never came out nicked or overly stressed. It seems, though, that The Nosey Dog is under new management. I called to schedule an appointment and spoke to a new person, so I reminded them that my one dog was hyper and it should be in the notes so they could schedule the right amount of time. I was told no worries and got an appointment a week later (I thought that was odd because my groomer was usually booked out for weeks). I showed up and the shop was completely remodeled and none of the groomers were familiar, but since we were already there, I went with it. I don't have particular preferences with how they are cut - just whatever is easiest for the groomer and so they're short enough to prevent matting. I got called an hour and a half later to pick them up. They looked fine (not great)...and were happy to see me. I assume it was the owner who then told me she wouldn't be able to groom them going forward and suggested I find another place. I asked why and was told they wouldn't sit still and she was worried for their safety. I completely appreciate the admission of their capabilities and am happy to find a new groomer because I know two of my fur kids are a little harder to manage. However, I will miss Barbie and her talented groomers. Would only recommend if your dogs are completely comfortable being groomed. read more

Our last two experiences with this location have been terrible. The staff is inexperienced and unwilling to work with senior pets. They refused to do a standard sanitary clip claiming mats too close to skin, but we had to end up doing it ourselves because they refused to work on our senior dog saying the mats were too close to the skin. As a former vet tech, I have seen severely matted dogs, and this was nowhere close to that. We were able to shave her ourselves in under 10 minutes, where they would not even touch her. Poor customer service. Will not be returning. read more

I will start by saying I am very sad to write this review. I have taken my 11 year old poodle Shitzu mix to The Nosey Dog Salon since it opened several years ago. Unfortunately, I will now be looking for a new groomer! A new owner took over The Nosey Dog earlier this year and the groomer I had used for years left. It seems that the experience you have will now depend on the groomer you happen to get. I have to admit, I had a very good experience last time I went on September 26th. Brittany groomed my dog and did a very good job. I usually try to stick with the same groomer but was busy with my son's wedding and forgot to schedule in advance so I called last night after closing and left a message that I needed to get her in. Someone called me back first thing this morning and offered me a 10:30 with Nicole. My husband dropped our dog off and picked her up. When he walked in with her and set her down, we immediately noticed her paw was bleeding. The groomer had cut her nail into the quick and we had a hard time getting the bleeding to stop. Her short hair was also very jagged, unlike any grooming she has ever had before. I actually had to re-trim her ears myself to make her look a little better. The jagged haircut is one thing but I was most upset about not being told her nail was cut into the quick. So I called and reached an answering machine where I left a message. The groomer called me back and that is really the reason for this review. People make mistakes. If she had taken responsibility and apologized, I would have let it go. But instead she starts out the conversation by telling me that customers want their dog's nails cut so close to the quick that it is hard to avoid cutting into the quick. I informed her that we did not make any such request and in fact have never asked for my dog's nails to be cut short and have never before brought her home bleeding. I also mentioned the jagged hair cut but quickly realized I shouldn't have bothered because this was clearly not someone who was going to take any responsibility. So I informed her that rather than making excuses, she would have been much better off to have apologized and that speaking with her only made me more sure that I should never bring my dog back. I then told her that I planned to post a review on yelp. She immediately hung up on me! Classy! read more

This groomer is the worst !My dog has multiple razor burns on all 4 legs, hind quarters and even across her face. Terrible! My dog is very mellow and usually calm. Running a vacuum does make her very anxious so why would you use a vacuum when someone is grooming a dog. read more

Great operation!! Very caring and understanding about my pets needs. I have one dog that gets shaved during the warmer months, so she gets the full grooming service; and two others that get the express wash. The staff calls me when they're 15 minutes from being done, so I can be there to collect them as soon as they're ready. Two of mine were adopted from shelters, so I really don't want them put in kennels -- so this cage-free environment is great! read more
