Just visited the grooming department for my little Halloween kitty. She's a longhair and very prone to matting, they did a great job cutting hers out... she's sporting a punk look now. This visit however was just a regular mail trim. They only have one certified cat nail trimmer, luckily he's very good and patient with my little angel's short mood... she left little tootsie rolls as a thank you last time when we took care of her matted hair. I also like this store for supplies, the staff have always been friendly and helpful. read more

This is my go to pet store! I have two cats and they are spoiled. They carry a lot of great product for a lot of family pets. Cats, dogs, lizards, fish etc. I have tried my cats on a few different style foods. The staff is great and informative. Always available to answer questions. They have a rewards program. They have special events on weekends. Adopt a pet events. Sample weekends Their product is reasonably priced. I feel their litter is more expensive then a box store but food, treats and toys are comparable. read more

We came here specifically looking for fresh cat grass. We were greeted right away as we walked in, by masked staff and smiling eyes. Offering to help as needed. The store was clean and well organized, so we knew where to go and unfortunately we saw the shelf tag for the product but no fresh cat grass. The staff was very attentive and even with masks on the staff member could see our disappointment. She immediately came over to ask how she could help. We stated their website showed they had fresh cat grass in stock and we were frustrated it wasn't true. She was very understanding and shared that it sells very fast and let us know when they typically receive their shipments - days/times! We were thrilled and she said while she couldn't guarantee it would be there, there was a better chance if we went on the day/time she recommended (if you want to know the "secret" you'll need to visit ;) As she indicated, the delivery arrived and stock was available! While we had to make another trip...we got what we needed! Also grass seed for future use for us to grow as well (we just needed to plan better). Thank you to the Great PetSmart Staff. Grooming at Petsmart Scarborough Maine. Do NOT take your pet to Grooming at Petsmart Scarborough Maine. My usual grooming at a different company was on vacation so was desperate to get a groom for my Cavapoo. I booked a Bath and Full Haircut. I tell the groomer Bethanie that I do not want him shaved just neatened up. She takes one look at my dog and says he must be matted so they will have to shave him, one of her colleagues comes over to feel over him and says he is only lightly matted in the ears. Bethanie said they should just add another $20 to deal with the matting. And again I say I don't want him too short. We left him and got a call 3 hrs later to say he is ready to be collected. My husband went to fetch him, while I was at another store doing an errand. When i got to the car and saw my dog, I was so upset and in tears. I looked at his ears and both ears had been cut and were bleading and he had been shaved completely. My dog is 10 years old and this is the WORST groom he has ever had. I took him back into the store and asked how they can cut his ears. Bethanie told me it was caused by a hematoma and mustve only just started bleeding. Which is strange considering the blood was dry. I just cannot believe they can treat Pets like this. When I got home and felt my dog and smelt him, his fur was sticky and did not smell like it had been washed at all. BE WARNED do NOT go to them for Grooming unless you want your pet mistreated!!! NEVER again no matter how desperate. read more

I don't go here much as they don't have what I typically feed my pup but recently decided to give it another go in search of a new betta fish and fish supplies, which is mostly what I base this review on. They had some live aquatic plants that were not healthy looking, but had quite a few synthetic plants and selection of fish foods and other supplies. They have a relatively small area in the back with various fish and some bettas. What disappointed me and actually upset my wife and I was when we saw the betta fish in their individual containers in the other area. I've been to enough stores and know enough about what healthy fish look like, what the water should look like, etc and it was awful conditions there with cloudy dirty water with waste floating in more than just a few and mostly sickly looking bettas. It was just plain sad. My recommendation to this business is they need to do better maintenance to keep conditions better for their fish or don't carry them at all. We won't be coming back to this location. read more

Love this PetSmart! I come here for a specialty type of litter that most other pet stores do not carry, and it is almost always stocked at this location. The employees consistently greet me at the door with a "hello, welcome to PetSmart" or "good evening" and a smile. They are super approachable and helpful. The aisles are clear, organized, and it easy to find what you need when you're here. Parking is plentiful, as they share a large lot with a few other stores. They even have doggie poop bags and garbages outside if you bring your pet here and they need to go to the bathroom. Very impressed with this store overall, will be back for sure! read more

I purchased two parakeets from this location. A sign by the parakeets stated that they only sold same sex birds to prevent pregnancies. Once the birds were old enough it became pretty clear (cere and feet color, size and noise) that I had both a male and a female. The female bird seemed sick and was plucking it's feathers from the start. I read that it could be due to the stress of being in a new environment so did not return it within the 2 week guarantee period. The plucking never stopped and within 6 months it died. read more

Walked in and got an appointment which made me very happy. I said I just wanted my female Yorkie trimmed. The YOUNG lady did a great job combing her out but then I made the mistake of asking her to straighten out her hair at her face. It was 3 inches long. She cut it completely to her jaw. I wanted to cry. She has long hair everywhere but her face now. Be careful what you ask for. Or make sure they understand what you're asking for read more

My 1 year old golden retriever was attacked while getting a bath at the Scarborough Maine PetSmart. I have not received a call from management to talk about what happen or find out if my puppy is doing okay. They haven't handled this well at all. Don't bring your pet there. read more

Nice new store. I always get the Blue Buffalo dog food for my dog and that is quite a bit less expensive here than the other pet stores in the area. They also have a great selection! In addition to that they have dog grooming which is great because the usual place I take her is always booked a few weeks out. Will definitely be bringing my little Ella dog here. read more

I accidentally acquired a baby lizard on a plant I purchased online. I was completely lost but Hannah confirmed he was a lizard, set me up with a starter tank some decorations and a tube of fruit flies to get me started.
