It's hard to know where to begin. We could not speak highly enough of A Very Good K9…read more My girlfriend and I got a Malinois puppy in July and immediately began searching for an experienced trainer. Much to our dismay, all of the trainers we contacted were not only discouraging, but had a fairly draconian view of how to "train" this breed. After meeting Austin and Haley for the first time, we cried tears of joy because we had finally found trainers that could help us and trust with our pup. We had a few training sessions with the both of them and each session we left feeling more confident and capable. Not only were they training our pup but also taught us how to be better handlers. We felt so comfortable with them that when our puppy was 5 months old, we sent her to a 4-week board and train (prior to meeting Austin and Haley, we had agreed to no B&T's). Although, we missed her presence during that time it's the best thing we could have possibly done. We knew that Austin and Haley would give our pup the same level of love and attention that we would given her at home. Before, it was difficult to do certain "regular"dog things such as taking her on a walk. She was very impulsive, latching on, lashing out, etc. typical behavior for a mouthy mal. Upon receiving her back, the groundwork had been laid out for us to have a positive and successful relationship with her. She snuggles with us, plays with us and let's us take her on walks but is still the crazy puppy we fell in love with. She has learned so much in a short amount of time and we finally feel like we can breathe. She still has a lot to learn as do we, which is why we are continuing to work with them. We would not trust anyone else as a trainer and would do this again without a second thought. Austin and Haley are very knowledgeable and it is evident in the results they produce. They are genuine people. They care a lot about the work that they do and your pups well being. They want you and your pup to succeed. We would suggest their services to anyone we know in need of dog training. You won't regret it.

The Bark Yard - The email I received when my puppy was having his first trial day at the bark yard in Scarborough.

I had a very bad experience here. I was told one thing and a very different day happened for my…read morepuppy. He was left alone in a crate in a "cabin" with no toys to chew. I was told he would have a playmate, that didn't happen. That cabin is a room with nothing in it. I was told later there was miscommunication about his day. He was traumatized for being left alone and I was charged $80. I got an email that my puppy was spilling his water in his bowl and panting after they told me he swallowed a metal hook that was on the crate they put him in. I am pretty sure all puppies spill their water also why was a metal hook put anywhere near his crate in a room unattended. They double lock the crates so the dogs wont get out for "safety" yet they leave them alone to chew the lock and swallow part of it. They all seem fearful of everything and not experienced with puppies or how to do business. We went over everything the day before what his day would look like. His day was nothing near the plan we went over. They still had the audacity to charge me after all of that. This place is not worth the money they charge not even close. In response to this email screenshot I posted, of course he is stressed he was kept in a crate all day and he just swallowed a metal clip. I told the owner and the shift lead the day before, I don't crate my puppy, they reassured me he would not be in a crate at all. That wasn't true. They could have called me or text to tell me this. Because it was an email, I received it later. They told me because he is not fixed he was kept alone. They shamed me for not having him fixed yet, he is a young puppy! Over all terrible experience. These people are mean!

We are so thrilled to have found The Bark Yard for our dog, Evelyn. We had tried a couple of other…read moreplaces with our older dog who did not want to stay at any of them. She hung out in a corner by herself and clearly did not want to go back. We did not think we would ever put Evelyn in doggie daycare thinking she would never like one either. Then I heard about The Bark Yard from a friend who loved this place-as did her dog. We decided to try it with Evelyn. She absolutely loves going to this fabulous facility. I say facility but really its like a big comfy place for Evie to play with other dogs. The groups are small and dogs are placed together based on personalities, etc Its kind of like driving your young child to school and have them run off with their friends forgetting to turn around and wave at the you, the parent. Evie never looks back. I'd say this is a true sign that she loves this doggie day care for its staff, the other dogs as well as the nurturing environmentshe is surrounded by. Thank you, Bark Yard, I would give you 100 stars if they'd let me. Thank you to all of the staff and the owners. We think you rock! Thank you. Elisabeth
