Donna has groomed both of my cats and she does an excellent job. I wanted lion cuts for the both of them and she gave them exactly that. My cats are NOT easy to groom by any means but she got all the tricky spots and now they are a lot happier and have much lower maintenance coats. I have nothing bad to say about the grooming at this PetSmart and will definitely be bringing my boys back. read more

Probably would give it a 3 1/2 it's good for toys balls and some people like the beds and the food. I got 2 balls no pun intended for my Dritzy that was a few weeks ago balls were expensive but are very durable and still in great shape. Now for the negative I've gotten dog brushes there 3 different times and a different brand each time and none lasted more than a week and this one didn't last through one yes one use now I know they don't manufacture the brushes but after having them returned time and again u would think they would find better products. Like I said the balls were expensive 25.33 each but worth it cause they last so please get some brushes that last go with higher quality I'd rather pay for something that'll last. I will definitely go back for the balls for sure and some treats and hopefully they'll have some higher quality brushes. The employees are all helpful and store was very clean 5 for employees 4.5 cleanliness I just can't get past the brushes please get better ones read more

Never had a problem with day care or overnight stays for our boy, he lives it there and staff are all friendly and caring!

The cat groomer Donna is great! I've taken my long haired cat to her twice and both times she's come back relaxed and smelling great. I really appreciate the friendliness of the salon bathers and stylists all around, and I'm always happy with the services they provide. read more

Took my pup here for a grooming service today, scheduled a cut, wash, and teeth brushing. I came back early enough to see the older lady handling my dog super aggressively. To be fair, my dog does not like getting his paws trimmed, however as I was creeping from the entrance (to avoid him seeing me and getting excited) I could see her grabbing his paws so aggressively that I heard him yell a bit. That was when I walked closer and when she saw me, she smiled at me and brought him to the back (to do God knows what). Now that I'm home, I can see that his haircut was poorly done; extremely uneven. Additionally, he smells the same way as I brought him in. No scent of their "luxury shampoo" that she mentioned whatsoever, which now has me thinking she completely skipped giving him his bath. Additionally, now that I suspect he didn't get a bath, I'm starting to doubt that she ever brushed his teeth... I paid $60+ for a service I didn't even get in full. Extremely upset to say the least. read more

The Saugus Petsmart is not the closest of the Petsmart location for me (three are closer), but I have been there a number of times and each time has been a positive experience. Both our boys, Han Solo and Harry were adopted through them and/or their affiliated cat shelter and I am grateful for Petsmart providing such a program. I came to this location again today, looking for a particular, hard to find item. Wally assisted me and made sure that I got what I needed. I truly appreciate the assistance he gave to me. Thank you and I will be back again! read more

This is my 2nd review, but wanted to write another one because of something that happened today where Petsmart deserves some recognition: Our dog was attacked by another dog at Petsmart day camp. My boyfriend and I recognize this is not preventable, and I'm giving Petsmart five stars for the way they handled the situation. The manager called me right away, they rushed her to the vet nearby, and handled the communication/matters with the other dogs family. I was informed to be "prepared" that our dog looked bad and we'd be upset when we saw her, but that she should be ok. They kept her comfortable until my boyfriend could pick her up. The staff reported to me that dog who attacked her was not new to the day camp, and they played well together before. So it was unfortunate and surprising. We were comforted that our dog can return and staff will keep eyes on her. Shout out to Gail and Jackie, thanks for easing my anxiety. read more

This Petsmart location has the best dog trainer! If you want results, see Arlyn!! She has a warm style and is amazing with dogs. My little buddy Davinci is in love with her. We met Arlyn in 2010 when Davinci was a puppy...7 years later, he is still obedient and does amazing tricks! Working with Arlyn is an education. Also, if you ever need to board your dog, Petsmart Saugus has the most caring and trust-worthy hotel. The staff is great...everytime!!! read more

This is the second time my husband booked a stay for our miniature Pinscher. First time he came home and I noticed a few days later he had some really bad irritation to his neck. I thought it was OUR fault because we use a bark collar sometimes when we cage him up. I asked my husband after we caged him up that day, if he had used the bark collar. His reply " no, I didn't use it." I pointed out to him, " Look at (our dogs name) neck! I thought maybe the bark collar went off a lot and tore up his skin." Nope. That's not what happened, because this time when we came and picked him up SAME EXACT MARKINGS of OUCHNESS. All Pussy and dried up crusty scabbing. (sounds disgusting because it is.) I took pictures this time. Anyway, My husband called for the manager and they had to call back. Finally he got a call back, and basically the manager said " I'm sorry this happened, we hope to see you again and will make sure this doesn't happen again." No money back. YOU REALLY THINK I'M GOING TO BRING MY DOG BACK AFTER THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE!? WOW. The workers and manager said that it was probably from the collars that they use to identify the dogs. (Which is like the bracelet material you get when your at the hospital.) Yeah, pretty irritating, they should really use something else. Like a COLLAR, you work at a PET SHOP. read more

The PetsHotel at this branch of Petsmart is great ! I used them during my recent move, and while they were busy, they were accomodating to my continual change of dates, and whether both cats would be there or not. One of my cats is a bit of a grumbler, and despite that, they treated them both well giving them clean accomodations, comfy beds,a read more

I took my pomeranian to be groomed on January 6, 2013. The groomer was great! I paid for express service so that my dog did not have to be put into the crate. The next day when I got home from work, My dog was walking with his rear end down and whimpering. I called the Petsmart Store in Saugus and spoke with Bonnie, the night manager. I asked if they had a store with a vet center that would be open. Bonnie said it was too late, they were all closed for the day. I explained that the dog was in a lot of discomfort and that if I was to take him to the emergency vet in Woburn, there is a fee just to walk through the door. Bonnie said that the store would reimburse me for the vet service and that I should take him to be treated and to call the next morning and explain to the Petsmart Saugus manager on duty what happened. The emergency vet determined that the dog had blocked anal glands and that this is common after grooming. The next day, I called and spoke with Michelle, the manager on duty. Michelle said she needed to confirm with Bonnie that Bonnie told me that the store would reimburse me for the emergency vet. Michelle said she would get back to my Thursday January 10th. Thursday evening I had not heard from Michelle so I again called the Petsmart Saugus store. I spoke with Scott, the manager on duty who apologized for Michelle not getting back to me. Scott said he would speak with Bonnie and get back to me. Scott now tells me that even though Bonnie told me I would be reimbursed and that Bonnie told me to take the dog to the emergency vet, He did not feel the store owed me anything. Scott said that the anal gland blockage "was in no way related to anything that was done during grooming" and that they were not reimbursing me for anything. I assured Scott that I will never use their service again and that I will tell everyone I know not to use their service since the word of their manager means nothing! read more

This review is for the PetsHotel specific to this location. I've had great experiences boarding my dogs at other locations, but this was a different story. I called a week ago to make a reservation for my 2 small dogs to spend the weekend at the PetsHotel while I went out of town. The woman on the phone was very pleasant, as usual, and said that if there were any issues obtaining the necessary paperwork from their vet, that I would be notified. Well, Saturday morning rolls around and I arrive to drop off my dogs, only to be told that 1 of my dogs is not up to date with her kennel cough vaccine, and that the vaccination must be administered at least 48 hours prior to check-in. The employee claims that they called me and left me a voicemail to notify me of this. Now this is not something that I would ignore and/or forget about. She lied to me, straight to my face. I can 100% guarantee you that I did not receive a phone call. Now this was at 8am on Saturday morning and my flight was leaving at 10:30am. Needless to say there was nothing I could do except call the airline and make sure I could bring the dogs with me on the plane. There was a $75 fee, each way, but I had no other choice. This caused needless stress and anxiety not only to me, but to the dogs, as well. I will never spend another cent at this location. Not on boarding, grooming, or even a lousy bag of dog food. Congratulations, you just lost a loyal customer. read more

I called for the reservation and spoke to the clerk about required vaccinations/tests etc. Then we drove from New York to this location and our dog was rejected because he had the Parvo Titer test instead of the Parvo vaccination. The titer test determines if the dog actually needs the vaccine. Our dog was not accepted. Thanks for the inconvenience of not having a location to board a pet after making a reservation and confirming the requirements. 6/14/14 Shorty after this post PetSmart contacted me and apologized. They told me that were going to send me a gift certificate and guess what? I never received anything. Oh well! read more

I have gone here three different times and each time my dog comes out looking worse than when I brought them in. The first two times they kept telling me it was my fault, they couldn't cut his hair properly so I did what they said to a 'T' and they still shaved him down completely. Don't call yourself a groomer if you can't even do a basic hair schnauzer hair cut!! Don't think I'm ever bringing him back to get butchered again! Be warned prospective new clients. read more

This review is for pet training. Julianna King is a great instructor. She taught a 6-week puppy class with professionalism and expertise. She was also willing to schedule make-up sessions for missed classes. Good stuff for new pet owners. Worth the $. read more

My dog went through the puppy training classes with Arlyn, and she was incredibly knowledgeable and easy to work with. My puppy LOVED her, and would seek her out whenever we were in the store, even if we weren't there for classes. I highly recommend the puppy training classes (more accurately, people training classes!) to help you master some basic commands with your pup. I've also had his nails trimmed there a couple of times, and one bath/groom session (with Jessica-who was great). The first nail grind was free, and beyond that they are very reasonably priced. I've been pleased with all services that I've had there thus far! In terms of boarding, I don't love the policies. Dogs are only in the playroom until around 5:00, and then brought to their room or kennel space until the next morning. That is a long time for a dog to be kenneled. read more

The grooming salon is the best, it is operated by the manager Mandy. She's awsome. The store is a bit of a drag, the manager by the name of Ray is quite rye, taciturn and cantakerous. The Petshotel is also good, they treat your dog like family. Davina read more

We were in town for a funeral from Charleston, SC. We decided to send our lab mix to the doggy daycare for the 2 days we were in town. She had a blast. The last day she was there, I got her a bath package. When we picked her up she had a cute bandana on. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They definitely made our trip easy knowing our dog was in good hands. Thank you! read more

Pet smart grooming is wonderful. They do an exceptional job grooming our dog. Always pleasant and professional. The location is always clean and hygienic. My dog loves going there to get groomed. Trots right in - ready for all the love and attention they give her to make her smell and look beautiful! At My previous local groomer, my dogs behavior changed whenever we would go. He would cry and not enter the building. He also was diagnosed with Kennel Cough, because of sick dogs they were boarding... always trust your dogs instinct. When they are afraid, pay attention! read more

Daycare: I just left Petsmart in Saugus where they have 16 of the larger dogs in one room. I don't know how people leave the dogs here all day. there is no room to exercise and one girl sits with them and plays on her phone - Does not interact with the dogs other than to yell at them. I wish I had taken a photo to put with this post. Next time. Although there were only five dogs in the small dog room again the person with them was captivated on her phone. There are many local dog daycare's that I love the dogs to Rome play, and even sleep if they need a nap. If you have left your dog at Petsmart the only reason it is tired is because it is unable to find space to lie down and relax. Thank God the wall is glass and you can observe, I dread to think of these dogs will be treated if it was behind closed doors. read more

Took my dog there to get groomed, who is my pride and joy and the girls did an amazing job! Will definitely be going back!

Super meal worms every Tuesday fresh for my beardie along with plenty of supplies for her and my puggy.

I am devastated. I've used their PetsHotel in the past with no problems or issues - in the past my dog seems to have had a great time and came home happy. This time is so very different and I suspect something terrible happened to her while she was there boarding for a week while we were away. Since she's come home she cowers, shakes and is scared of everything (five days now). She doesn't want to go outside, hides under our bed all day and generally seems traumatized. I'm about to call the store now, but I suspect I won't get any answers. I wanted to post this to see if anyone else has had an experience like this. Although physically she doesn't seem injured, I'm making her an appointment at the vet today to have her checked to make sure. She is acting like an abused dog and I'm devastated that I left her in their care and she comes home like this. Anyone else have any experiences like this???? read more

Great service and great staff, good people who are human (not grumpy, angry, horrible people). Staff is always friendly and I look forward to visiting every time. Also they have almost everything I need. They stock the food my dogs eat; always in stock (natural junk that no one else has) and available. Check it out! read more

We recently started taking our 9 month old rescue lab mix here for Doggy Day Camp. We chatted with another day camp nearby that did not seem to want our business and went on and on about how they do not let the puppies mouth each other at all or romp around with each other. We knew that wasn't the place for us. PetSmart has been so organized and easy to work with. The staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and really care about the animals in their care. Our dog has so much fun at day camp, and comes home at night exhausted! They provide a report card for you when you pick your dog up. They are more than happy to provide you with updates on your dog if you give them a call in the middle of the day. I can't say enough good things about this day camp - friendly staff, easy to work with and my dog loves it! read more

I have gone in this store 3x now over the past few months, and 2x I have noticed some unpleasantness with the manager. The first time I was looking at the calendars and overheard him swearing in his office. The second time I noticed him yelling at a young female worker. I asked the lady at the register his name and she said Ray the manager. I was thinking about calling the number on my receipt but figured a review was better. I wil be going to Petsmart in Woburn from this point on. read more

I love this Petsmart! The staff is always so friendly, you are always greeted at the door and will frequently ask if they can help you with anything. I don't care for that type of attention but it's nice to know they will try to answer a question if you need it! We took training classes with Brett and he is excellent. He's very patient and helpful! I was afraid class would be a little boring but it's definitely not.. he's funny, charismatic and get's the class involved in discussion. After class he allows for questions and will take time to talk with you one on one. I've seen him fit many of our classmates with harnesses. The pet hotel is also a good experience and the staffers who work that are also pleasant. They are quick to help people at the desk and really make you feel like your dog matters. Many of the staff really seem to love the dogs and that makes me feel more comfortable. I do wish the fish area was manned more often. Many a times we have been standing there waiting to be helped. When someone does come over they are swift and friendly but it's getting them over there that is the problem. Maybe they need a call light or something. read more

The worst. The grooming staff here are the most ignorant people to deal with. I walk in this morning for my 11am grooming appointment and the person at the desk completely ignores me and walks out back, while 2 other groomers continue working without one acknowledgement that I'm here. 10 minutes later I finally get the attention of one of the groomers only to learn that the appointment was never booked. This place has gone downhill. Use at your own risk. read more

Had my dog stay at the Petsmart hotel while we attended a wedding for one night. When he was dropped off he was wearing a easy walk walking harness (goes around his mouth so he can't pull) that we had previously bought from petsmart. Well, when we picked him up the next morning he was not his usual happy, excited self. Not until we were in the car did we notice his lips were curled over bloody. Either they left his easy walk over his mouth all night, or at least for numerous hours because this has never happened to him, and that pulling from the easy walk (that wasn't correctly on him) caused it to rub against his lips and bleed! It took weeks for his lip to heal! It was clearly obvious, so there's not an excuse that they didn't notice this either. We were so upset and will never send him back! Better to spend the money for quality care! read more

if you leave your dog in the grooming salon, beware! I got sued because of their negligence of letting my dog run loose and bite another dog, and they accept no liability whatsoever! It cost me dearly, do they care that I'm out of work recovering from cancer, or that I spend thousands of dollars there a year - NO! they lost a very good customer over $1,300 - all I asked was to be reimbursed on the demand that I paid. The emotional trauma has been hell, I spent more than that a year on grooming, and they don't give a rats ass because they know how expensive it would be to sue them - shame on them! They should be ashamed of themselves, I will never set foot in a Petsmart again read more

Reading the reviews on here, I felt the need to post my own. Our puppy Peach has been coming here since the day we got her. The staff has never been anything but kind, understanding and helpful. We use all of there services for Peach, and most of them greet her by name when she comes into the store. She gets groomed by Jess who you can tell really loves dogs, and always does a great job. She gets trained by Arelyn who has taught her how to do things that I would not have been able to do myself. She goes to doggy day camp every Saturday, and gets really excited to play with her other doggy friends. Let me ask you this . . . if Petsmart is such a horrible place, why is it that Peach charges the doors and runs down back to the daycare center just to greet and love on the staff? She absolutely adores coming to Petsmart. If its good enough for her than its good enough for me :) Keep up the great work guys !! read more

I wonder if we had an experience with the same manager. Either way our pet was dying. Seriously. We needed an antibiotic for our showpiece fish because his eye was popping out from an infection. We made the mistake of show up five minutes after they closed and the manager made fun of us for "not being able to read the sign." It would have been nice for them to have mention that they closed when we called them twenty minutes prior and kept us on hold while three different people checked to see if they had the product. NOT impressed, and never going to a petsmart again. We're now officially PetCO customers only. read more

Petsmart Saugus doggie daycare is really unprofessional. Its your typical corporate setting where you and your dog are 'just a number'. I would never go back to Petsmart! read more

I have a female 8months yorkie and I took her to the grooming salon, I told the lady to keep her hair long, I just wanted a trim and she cut the hair short I decided to try it another time and the same lady took her again so I repeated to her please keep the hair long I'm trying to let it grow. When I pick my dog she did a very short haircut and it looks really bad, the hair on her chin is wicked short and on her legs the hair looks choppy. She did the male haircut on my female dog! I did not said anything because I didn't want her to feel bad. But I will said this is not the best place for dogs haircuts. And to make it worse her nails still scratching peoples skin when she uses her paws. They are very nice but I would not recomend this place for dog haircuts. read more
