When I took my fur baby over to them I had an appointment I took him in at the first time there he's a Siberian Husky the girl was that was looking through his fur and flipping his ears like she knew him she didn't even attempt to talk to him she was too busy telling me and my daughter oh we deal with aggressive dogs well I'm sorry but if somebody flipped your hair I'm coming round their hand up and down your fur if you had to have it flipped your ears yeah I'd be ticked off too but she kept doing that to him and then she kept trying to tell us he was aggressive he's never been aggressive he goes up to people and sniffs them and they pet him and he loves it of course we're right there would never let him hurt anybody but he's one thing he has not as aggressive I will never take him there ever long as that little girl is working there wrong answer she's terrible with fur babies she shouldn't even be working there! I told her cancel his appointment and we took him left! read more

While living in Salinas this was my favorite pet store. I had cats, dogs, and ferrets. This place always had things all three of my animals like. Like pet toys, cages, pet snacks, and food. They have a great supply of grooming tools too. The staff were always very friendly too. I reall enjoyed shopping here. read more

I like Pet Smart as store, however, their website issues are problematic. I tried placing an order online for in store pick up, and the site timed out twice saying it was an error. Both times it charged my card. I finally contacted customer service and they said it would be a week before getting a refund and said they would place the order for me but had to charge my card a third time. Pretty much I'm sure you can guess what I said at that point. No. I would have walked away however one of the delivery companies had a special if you went through their app so I decided to do that because I needed my items. The sale on the app ended up being less, even tipping the driver, than finalizing the order I tried to place so I could stop by the store myself and pick things up. I've found this issue at different Pet Smart stores so I think from now on I will either just walk in or pay someone else to walk in and shop for my items. As a whole, Pet Smart has a lot of good values especially if you have multiple pets. That said.... This interaction took too much time and the end result was better for me. Shopping in their store is a whole different experience. I've always had great service. They do need to do something with their online website. Most people don't want to end up paying for a sale three times and then have their own money tied up for a week before getting it back due to system errors. That's my take on things. read more

Was really good, all the pets in there like the hamsters looked really healthy, I actually really enjoyed it.

A week ago I brought my dog in to get his nails trimmed. I arrived at 6:15. When I walked in the groomer said that they stop taking dogs in at 6:00 for nail trims. I asked if that was what was on the website, and she stated no but that was what she was doing. It is frustrating to go home, pick up your pet and is refused service because the groomer decided to stop taking dogs in at 6:00. The manger was not available and the sales clerk took my # but the manager failed to call me. I have tried numerous times to call the store but no one answers. Ok let me start by saying Petsmart is normally one of my favorites for my pet needs, however today I went to this location and it was disgusting.. you walk in it's stinks of urine the floors are filthy, carts filthy. We went to look for some fish and there was no employee to be found for assistance. Lines were really long and I'm guessing the two at the register were the only employees in the store.. the bathrooms are filthy.. we walked around several times just trying to find someone vea due there was no price tags on anything.. also just for those that like to use their phone there's no service at all in there. I went to my local pet smart on sunday 5/18/2025 around 12 pm I'm very disappointed at my local pet smart I was there shoping for my kitten and went to look at the adoption cat corner and I saw that one of the cages that had 2 kitten inside they didn't have any food or water they looked so sad licking the empty food and water dish .I went up to one of the workers at the register and told him that one of the cats cages in the adoption area there were 2 kitten that didn't have food or water and were licking nothing . His respond was oh well the adoption area is a 3 party !!! Like what...... if someone is saying there isn't any food or water and your showing anmails to adopt and as a pet store that is very neglectful as a corporation. Maybe it's time to stop selling and adopting any animals and just stick to selling food and supplies if this is the way this corporation thinks they have no responsibilities of there animal that they host cause it's a 3 party job and then to respond to the situation with such an answer .its really not that hard to check on all the pets and make sure they have food and water regardless if it's a 3 party or not speaclly not knowing how long these animal have been with out food and water. read more

Today we went to look around and fell in love with this cute chubby fluffy hamster. So cute ! Love her... We asked for help and this lady I am not sure of her name, short hair, helped us. My sweet dog was sent away with only half a haircut today. The groomer, Madison, was rude and uncaring. I will never bring one of my pets to the groomer at Salinas Petsmart again. This is very sad because I have used Petsmart in the bay area for about 20 years and have always been pleased with their service. Unfortunately, the Salinas PetSmart is very poorly run. I would give this store no stars if it would let me! The employees are constantly rude, the store is always dirty, and tonight i was out of town visiting a relative in hospice, i prepaid for a bag of dog food around noon, arrived back into town around 6pm, they close at 6:30pm on Sundays, pulled up at the door as 2 employees were locking the door! Another gentleman asked if he could just grab the bag of dog food he also prepaid for, the blond employee told him "No sorry I already set the alarm!" I recently took both of my dogs in for a grooming. DeeDee was awesome she did a great job grooming Toby. She also recommended a Angel Eyes powder for some stains he had on his paws. I will definately take him to her again. Dezra also took great care of Chip he was so soft and clean and his nails were nicely trimmed. Great experience!!! This place is so bad. We moved into the area not that long ago and my dog needed her nails trimmed. She was already getting groomed at another location in San Jose. We called and tried to make an appointment. The lady on the phone looked her up and said since she has never been to their store, we would have to purchase a full grooming package so they can check her temperament. We were shocked. We asked if there was a note saying she was a vicious dog and that we been coming to the same company for grooming. She said to not make an appointment and go somewhere else. Stupid hooker. We even walked in the store to find unhelpful and rude staff. They look at you as another person through the door and not even a greeting when you come in. They lost our business. Pet Smart is also notorious for pit bull discrimination. We'll keep our business with Pet Co who welcomes all breeds and has a friendly staff. read more

This is the worst Petsmart in the country, by far. I don't know who the manager is there, but there is no excuse for having only 1 checkout open during rush hour. The shelves are lacking product while there is stock in the back, the staff is underaged and rude, and the kids behind the register seem to care more about talking to each other than taking care of the customers. Every time I go there It seem like I waste a half hour in line, and a another 10 minutes waiting for someone to fetch what I need from the warehouse. Just horrible all around. This location has horrible customer service. Especially a few of the female employees, they are extremely rude, have an attitude and make you not want to come back. They all seem miserable and I feel sorry that the customers have to deal with that while trying to shop for their fur babies. Jen and Vic the store managers have the worst attitudes of them all. Jen seems very stuck up and Vic doesn't seem like he's doing a very good job as a manager, letting his employees do as they please and not ask them to be better. The one employee with longer blonde hair, should not have a job in customer service. Her attitude is disgusting and she is rude as hell. I honestly don't know how she's had a job in customer service for so long. It's so sad. I do not recommend supporting this particular location shopping wise. The grooming salon is amazing, the staff is all so very kind and friendly I absolutely love Yvette as the grooming salon manager. At least ONE of the managers has their head on properly, and it's Yvette. So to conclude my rant, dont even bother going in to shop unless you plan on leaving in a bad mood. read more

Hi Pet-smart and Pet-smart customers, I went in assuming we get our dog done to exception because Shio doesn't like being his toes done, and being restrained. He told me three times I dislike this place.[peeing on ground] I for one understand Pet-smart has too many bad memories. If your dog doesn't want to be at place, then I had previously herbally sedated him it wasn't enough for those Staffers. I did in mind for other dogs, and human groomers but seems when I believe how I saw how shio was going groomed he didn't want to go. Shio gets groomed by me once a week, but I don't have time to do because my mother is sick, and she has to cared for, Normally I hate imagine him returning upset and calming him down is harder. If you own a Maltese don't take him to Pet-smart find mobile groomer or take him to vet they told us this. I was thinking this preferential treatment. In future I think I going tell all my friends and family never to take their pets to Pets-mart you lost a customer forever more. I gave him sedation so he would calm to handle and he would easy handle, Normally grooming I guess for they think they can handle Maltese It baffles me. Maltese do not let go someone who slighted them. I know this, they give you look and they bite. So to think you know better than I do you have lot to learn. None of those groomers talk to dogs...Dogs I saw being groomed were crying. I think most of percentage people don't care when come get their dogs done. Other issue they do not trust customers on rabies and vaccinations. So for me I find them untrustworthy which causes a rift, no I am returning. Even to buy things from this store. I stopped by this pet smart to look at the fish and because I came at 8 and the store closes at 9 they were super rude and just trying to get me out of the way, they did not help at all. I didn't even end up buying the fish I wanted because they dropped one on the floor and were more concerned about locking the animals up then helping me purchase my pet. I've been coming to petsmart for YEARS! I was very disappointed and angry with my recent groom. The groomers name is Amanda and she BUTCHERED my poor dog. I have never had my dog given to me in this condition. It's like she didn't even try. The body looked like gross, but the head looked disgusting! Worst customer service! The managers are the WORST of WORST. A easy 7 min trip ended up taking 30 min. Cashiers were tied up in a long line and paged for help. Management knew I needed help but continued to tell the cashiers to get to it themselves. I had already been waiting for several minutes. This review is based on the grooming department. I've been taking my miniature schnauzer here for over two years. Their intake is standard and consistent, they've always been nice. Times quoted are always on time or earlier. As far as quality of grooming... it's been hit and miss for us. Maybe 40% of the time, our dog feels grimy around her ears and neck. It's almost like they didn't rinse all the shampoo out. Although, tonight has appeared to be the best grooming experience so far. Holly was our groomer and I think I will always request her. Tikka looked great, she felt silky-smooth and I was pleased to get a download from Holly regarding my dog's behavior during the grooming. If you get your dog groomed at the Salinas PetSmart, I highly recommend Holly! read more

First of all let me start with a back story: I went looking for a new harness for my husky since she had broke the 2 I had for her. I let an employee know my concern and they showed me a $50 one, i said let's say it does not last her or snaps can I return it? They told me yes. If I lost my receipt that I could at least get store credit. The amount of days didn't matter as well they said and I asked very detailed questions about their policy because I understand what it's like to work CS and have customers not understand certain details so I wanted to make sure I knew what I could do if anything happened. Well a month and a half later it turns out my husky snapped her harness against her kennel and I was like OK I'll go exchange it for a new one but unfortunately I lost the receipt but I knew I could at least exchange (or I was under the impression) I get there and the employee is kind of lost I can tell he was new so he then asks another one for help, she comes off super rude to him & then she starts helping. She asks me how long has it been I say maybe a month or little over she says ok and looks at the harness. OBVIOUSLY the harness isn't looking brand new...it's for a DOG? Dogs play and get dirty so obviously it was dirty & CLEARLY BROKEN BECAUSE IT WASN'T AS DURABLE AS IT SAID. She then finds my receipt through my phone number & said ok....well this honestly looks like you've had it for "over a month..or 2...honestly 3 I can not return it " I said um the policy never stated how long I have and I just want an exchange? And to top it off it hasn't been that long it was a little dusty. She then says " well I can't find your receipt " when it clearly was on the screen..she lied. She then says WELL...let me ask my manager & her manager said yes return it and so she starts returning it while being super hostile and making unnecessary comments on how to care for my animal as if I didn't know? And not saying it in a helpful way but more condescending because she was upset her manager allowed me to return it? Like sorry not sorry María (her name) but it is not coming out of your paycheck. If you're working at a pet store I assume you want to help owners as much as possible to ensure their dogs / pets well being. Not be angry because I wanted something better for them. Then she would not SHUT UP about me purchasing something expensive and trying to return it saying " next time don't buy something expensive if you're going to be returning it with out receipts " like how degrading is that comment. Maria tried to embarrass me in front of other customers and make me feel bad. Here's a suggestion for you María, make sure your coworkers aren't misinformed about store policies since you care so much, so you don't have to be a complete jerk to customers. Ps. Idk who the hell the manager is but they were too busy hiding in their office to come help with the situation. Really couldnt leave sitting on your phone to help out? TERRIBLE service. I could give it no stars if I could. I won't be returning to this store location anymore. I would much rather go to the one in Santa Cruz. Staff is WAY more helpful and friendly. read more

Try avoiding this pet smart store if you can. I have brought my dog here twice for grooming and every time they've been rude. If they talk to down to us owners how do they treat and talk to our pets. I've been going to seaside to get my dog groomed which is sooooo much better and nicer employees. If you want to get talked down to or have someone be rude to you then go ahead you've been warned. Also not all cashiers are friendly. Some looked annoyed to be there. At all cost I avoid coming here for all of my dogs needs. Not worth it. read more
