This is my usual place to visit to buy Nutro brand dog food for the Siberian Husky, Lokai. I always make him urinate outside before we walk inside the store. For the very first time, Lokai decided to urinate on a wooden flat pallet, sitting in the middle of the aisle. There are numerous clean-up stations located around the store that contain wipes, plastic bags, and disinfectant spray. The trash receptacle is located below the cleaning supplies. The employees were glad I cleaned up after him and gave Lokai a peanut butter treat when we got to the checkout line. read more

We moved to Omaha two years ago. Having said goodby to our favorite PetSmart groomer in Portland, Oregon, we needed to find a new fave here. Having tried a couple of recommended grooming salons, with not great results, we finally found an excellent groomer for our Standard Poodle at OakView PetSmart. Her name is Ash, and she is very talented with giving our Nelson a sporting cut with pomm tail and topknot. She is also sweet to him--she actually likes him and doesn't treat him like he's just another dog, which I appreciate! I can tell that he is happy to see her. For the second grooming with her, I wanted her to make a slight adjustment to the back of the topknot. I showed her a picture, and she styled it just perfectly. She's very willing to work with a client. We just hope she never relocate! Not every groomer does a Standard Poodle well, but Ash does! read more

Being newer to Omaha, I called around to try and find an opening at groomers recommended highly by friends and even Yelp. Most weren't accepting new clients and were also booked out for months! I am grateful that Petsmart was able to get my 2 Cotons in for a groom within a week! The groomers were kind and patient with us at check in, listening to our needs, stories, and even looked at our pictures to get an idea of what we were hoping for. The pups were there for about 3 hours and came out looking and feeling great! The only downside was we killed some time waiting in the store waiting for them and kinda broke our budget, lol! We came away with a fun Grinch sweater, reflective coat, and some fabulous Harry Potter house sweatshirts and collars! At least it happened to be half price due to the black Friday weekend. The store was busy but they opened extra registers when needed and were helpful with exchanges when we misjudged sizing on a few items. I will say the bathroom needs upgrading, even if it's just new toilet seats. All in all it is what I would expect from the Petsmart brand. read more

What I love about PetSmart - the store is nice and big so there is 1) adequate space to walk around with your furry pal and 2) they partner with local shelters and rescue groups to adopt animals rather than acquire them from breeders or puppy mills. Also, the company does a lot nationally to promote and support the plight of homeless pets. They don't carry some of my preferred dog food brands (Lotus, Fromm, Zignature, Taste of the Wild, etc.) but I can get these at locally owned business (such as The Green Spot) which I also like to support. This particular PetSmart has a Banfield Pet Hospital, Pet Hotel and large visible grooming area. The day I was there they had the cutest bunny up for adoption from the Nebraska Humane Society. I took my dog to get groomed at this location and overall will say that I will not be back. I dropped her off around 12:30 in the afternoon and she was done by 3:30, which is pretty normal timing. My problem is when I picked her up and after paying $65 for a bath, grooming and nail grind, PLUS a $15 tip she honestly looked about the same as when I dropped her off. What? Super disappointing. She was super excited to go home and bouncing off the walls during the pick up time so it was hard to tell how poorly she was looking at first. I discussed my concerns with the employees working and they listened and told me I could bring her back tomorrow between 1-1:30pm. It was inconvenient to have to bring her back the next day over my lunch break, but I made it work. When I arrived to check her in, the employee who cut her the day before greeted me with "I think we had a misunderstanding of what exactly you wanted for your pet yesterday so I'm going to have another associate chat with you. " Really? How about a "I'm sorry I wasn't able to meet your expectations, or I'm sorry you are unsatisfied with my work" and take ownership. I'm not being THAT picky, but again, I expect my dog to look and smell better than she was when I dropped her off the day prior! Left her that afternoon for several hours, came back and still had not appeared that anyone took a decent amount of time making her look well groomed and bathed like she has been in the past at other Petsmart grooming salons. read more

I was pretty disappointed. I am a fan of PetSmart and went in with the intention of getting some fish. However, after 10 minutes - no one was around to help and I kept questioning if I should get fish here as the tanks are full of snails. Having a dog and fish tanks this is a go to place for supplies , conveniently located to other business so if I am in the neighborhood I stop by . Prices are somewhat high and I find myself price comparing before I buy . I also am not fond of our sickly the Betas sometimes look and wish I could take them all . I know they keep them in those tiny containers because they can't be kept together but they can take better care of them . From time to time the store does have a smell but I am sure it's because of pets being allowed and they do have accidents . I do like the big variety of supplies they do have and even if u can't find the exact thing you want you will Be able to find something comparable to it . The hours are also good as they open Early enough for people to be able to drop the dogs /cats off at the "animal hotel" if you need them to stay for a night or two ( never used it so don't know how it is ) . read more

We had an appointment to get my dog groomed that we made 2 months ago and showed up today and they had entered her vaccination dates in wrong. 2021 is different from 2022. Going to pet smart used to be fun. People would ask if you needed help and were knowledgeable about the animals and products in the store. The employees are cold and don't want to help anymore. I was in there tonight and was checked out by Krista. I asked if there was only one kitten left and she replied "apparently." My boyfriend then checked out with his stuff and she turned away from him, didn't ask about a pet rewards number, didn't state the total, and didn't even look at us. Will never support them again due to poor staff. Went to adopt a cat and was told I needed cash/check and I asked if I could come back later to adopt. The staff said that I could and she said the cat would be put on hold for me. Came back five hours later with a check and buying all my cat supplies (thankfully not from Petsmart) to find out they sold that cat after I had left and cats can not be placed on hold...Tried the location off Maple at 5 p.m. on a Sunday and waited for 15 minutes to look at their cats only to be told that the cat adoption is closed for the day when Petsmart doesn't close till 7?! read more

My dog picked this top paw brand rope toy out two weeks ago. He loved it and spent lots of time chewing and playing fetch. Despite the label saying it was durable, my dog who doesn't have a front row of teeth chewed through it. This isn't the part I'm upset about. He ingested strands of the rope and they are now caught in his stomach and intestines. They are putting strain on them and tearing them. My dog was sent into surgery half an hour ago to attempt to extract the string and save his life. Please do not buy rope toys for your dog. I was in town visiting my dad and thought my dog could use a groom. I usually go to locally owned groomers who I've developed a relationship with, but after having an amazing experience in Idaho at a PetSmart, I decided to give Omaha's Oak View store a chance. They were able to get me in right away, which was great! I dropped her off and the woman said it would take an hour. I went to a grocery store and after 50 minutes, I received a text that my dog was ready. I left the store immediately, but got stuck in construction traffic which delayed me. The groomer called and threatened me with a boarding fee if I didn't arrive immediately. I explained my situation and said I was in the parking lot and would be inside in less than a minute. She reiterated that she was going to start charging me a boarding fee, even though I said I was in the parking lot. I arrived at the store 5 minutes after 1-hour had passed from drop-off. So, in my head, based on her telling me it would take an hour, I was only 5 minutes late. I was not greeted with a hello, just a, "Next time you will not be allowed to leave the store!" excuse me? "She was done in 40 minutes and this is not a boarding house! You will no longer be allowed to leave the store." I explained that we got caught in construction and her response was "that intersection has been under construction for weeks! You should know!" Ummm ok, sorry lady, but I don't live here and just arrived into town 2 days ago. There was no, "thanks for choosing PetSmart," no report on how my dog did, no, "my name is ______ so you can ask for me next time," just scolding like I'm in 3rd grade. Not to mention the total was almost $60 for a bath, nail trim & tooth brush. I had the same thing done in Idaho for $35. I guess this goes to show why I don't usually use national chains for my dog care because you never know what or who you're going to get. I had a 9am appointment and my car broke down. So I immediately called my mother and we rushed over while trying to call. We were left on hold most of the drive and told that we basically had 5 minutes to get there or they wouldn't take him. We showed up 7 minutes later, and rushed in to be told they would not groom the dog. Mind you, there was two associates on staff and not a single dog in sight. They told us they had a big dog coming and that dog didn't come until 15-20 minutes later. read more

If I could vote any lower of a rating I would. I was extremely angry and offended with my service. I simply asked the manager of the grooming salon if it would be okay to just trim my cats belly as his hairs were getting a little matted and long enough to touch the ground. My boyfriend went to pick him up from the appointment and he was completely shaved up to his neck where there was a harsh line from his long hair and from the neck down was shaved all the way to his skin. I was so mad that I called and the person who performed Benny's service was the manager of the salon. We got no where and she was very rude. He left with a really bad haircut which is cringy to me because I am a cosmetologist and felt like I could've done a way better job. They went the extra mile to make him look terrible. I just tried the grooming salon for the first time yesterday and had a wonderful experience. They took great care of my pup and she came home happy and smelling wonderful. We also use the Petshotel any time we leave town. The staff at this location are friendly and helpful in every area, and their boarding and grooming prices are reasonable. My only complaint would be that they rarely staff their checkout adequately and their dog toys can be a bit pricey when compared with other stores. read more

My pet is the calmest most quiet animal who is in training to be a therapy support animal. She would not ever bite or nip. I'm a frequent shopper here, so I do have more than a few things to say, having shopped here for my dog and two cats for many years. As the owner of a double-coated border collie mix, I'd advise others with similarly shaggy dogs to stay away from the groomers here. I've never had a good experience with the groomers at Petsmart in getting thru my dog's coat. In fact, I've brought him home and found tangles and a lot of loose undercoat which needed brushed out--and that was after their Furminator treatment. I'm sure for short-coated breeds they do just fine, and they are a relatively inexpensive option for that. The pet hotel service offered is generally very good and the people working there recognize my dog from his having stayed there several months ago. This brings me to believe that he got a lot of human interaction while he was staying there, if after eight months they're coming up and calling him by name. I love taking my dog shopping there. He has a lot of fun, gets to meet people and other friendly dogs. A few words of warning though... I would caution owners of non-socialized dogs to think twice before they think a store is a great place to start socializing their animals. That's something you pay to do in a training class; don't inflict your dog on unsuspecting canines looking for their next fluffy chew toy. The Humane Society offers just such a class on the cheap. Also parents; be mindful that not every dog is kid friendly. Keep an eye on your kids, because I have turned around a few times to find a munchkin clinging to my dog. The worst he would ever do to a kid is slobber and shed all over them... not every dog is perfect like he is though =) read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE TO BE GROOMED! I'm warning all other pet parents because the worst possible thing has happened to my Maizie. My boyfriend took her in to get her nails trimmed.. I later received a text from him stating that Maizie had jumped from the table and he had to help the groomer put her back on the table. I called and the lady who did my grooming (Nikki) was very apologetic and said that she didn't mean to hurt my dog. I have messaged Petsmart on Facebook and just stated that they needed to bring more attention to these issues and provide more training to their staff for anxiety/scare dogs to prevent this from happening in the future. I never received a response from them. However, the store manager did call me today to call me a liar and make up a story about how the other groomer in the salon had helped her and how my boyfriend didn't have to help her, but offered which was a complete and total lie. I asked to see the cameras and he told me he doesn't have the power to do that. My dog could have died that day and I can't even see what had happened. The only precaution that the groomer needed to take, was to fasten another leash to my dog and she didn't do that.. PLEASE DO NOT RISK IT! I will NOT be returning to Petsmart due to the neglect with their animals and the ability to handle this issue. Update: The district manager called me, apologized for the whole incident that took place. He paid to have Maizie looked at by our vet and assured me that the proper training would be done. I haven't heard back from him yet about the follow up but if I don't hear back by June, I'll follow up with him. I appreciate his honesty. read more

I took my St Bernard and my Husky to this Petsmart and they both came home smelling and looking great! My husky is a little brat and a pain to wash and when we picked her up they said she was a sweet heart even though I find that hard to believe. And my St Bernard who is no SAINT to strangers was handled expertly by the Salon Manager Nikki. 10/10 I will definitely take my dogs back! read more
