I have owned Standard Poodles for thirty years and Michele's is BY FAR the best quality service and at a ridiculously low price. I paid more a decade ago than I do currently here and the grooming is flawless! The owner, Kelly, is vibrant, friendly, and passionate about dogs and her customers and it shows. All staff members are equally as knowledgeable and friendly. I'm sure they service all breeds as the name says but they really shine when it comes to Standard Poodles...a breed known for needing high maintenance grooming skills! There is higher skill set needed here and they have it down pat. On a more personal note, the owner Kelly is so customer- oriented that she personally took my dog home with her for later pick up when there was a mix up ( on my part!) on their closing time. She could have easily dropped her off at the pound or charged me an extra fee. Instead, she got ahold of me and personally delivered "Faith" back home later that evening. Since shedding season has just begun, we decided to take him in for a shed treatment and bath. We heard about this place from my sister-in-law who has taken her dogs there for nail trims. You have to call to make an appointment, but they're really flexible and I didn't have to wait more than a few days to get in. They also asked what my vet was so they could verify the rabies vaccination, which was nice that I didn't have to chase down his records myself. When we took him in, the front desk person was welcoming and help us get all checked in. They asked a few questions about his demeanor, and we assured them that he is mostly a chicken and the most difficult he'll be is he'll freeze up when he gets anxious. They called me about two hours later and he was ready to go. I had to get him within an hour of him finishing. When I got there, I paid first and then they brought him out. He had a super sweet bandanna on, and I could tell that they really worked hard on getting his undercoat out. We haven't had the best experience with de- shed treatments around town as he always comes to us just as hairy. I think some places think that they can get a few minutes of brushing and then call it good but this dude has like three layers of undercoat. You can tell the staff here really spent time on getting that out. Not to mention he smelled SO good. No wet dog smell here. We didn't use any other of their services or do any shopping, but it looks like they had a good selection of products. This isn't our closest local dog store so we probably wouldn't come to just shop but I would return for the grooming services.

Most places had waitlists that stretched on forever, but then I found The Groomerzz, and let's say they were lifesavers. From day one, Billie and her team welcomed Oakley with open arms (and, I assume, a game plan for managing all that fluff). Now, every time we walk through the door, Oakley runs to Billie--yes, runs. That kind of excitement tells me everything I need to know. Newfoundlands aren't always easy clients--Oakley is big, strong, and occasionally "helpful" in ways that probably don't make grooming any easier. She isn't a show dog, so while her haircuts aren't always flawless, I don't expect perfection--I want her to be clean, brushed, and comfortable, and The Groomerzz delivers every time. I know she's a handful, but they handle her with patience and care, never rushing, always making sure she gets what she needs. Cottonwood changed its daycare policy on August 15 to no longer let dog owners…read morereserve dog playtime ("daycare") for overnight boarded dogs (previously was 4 hours complimentary as a "social guest"). I booked my dog on July 23 for this program. I drop her off for Labor Day weekend and boom, my poor dog is not allowed to have any playtime because it's "full" (was there at 8 am...) and is now first come, first serve DESPITE ME BOOKING IT FOR HER before the policy change. I received no phone call about the change, the website hasn't been updated, nothing. This place is counting on you to just accept that you will now have to pay them more to exercise your dog or even to just allow them out of their kennel ON TOP of already paying $53 a night as the CHEAPEST OPTION. Don't do it guys. If you're going to pay for a "pet resort" to lock up your dog all day unless you pay more on top for a "nature hike", there are much cheaper places around Omaha. Don't get scammed by these greedy owners. If it's a volume issue, limit reservations or hire more staff. At a bare minimum, CALL YOUR CLIENTS about any major changes. Greed greed greed. I'm finding a new place.
