I used to bring my dog here (he is a four year old morkie) after his old groomer moved away, and at first it was really good. After his last appointments they told me that he was acting very aggressive which was an absolute shock to me because he isn't aggressive, and none of his previous groomers had called him aggressive either. On his very last appointment they again said he was aggressive, and they cut his hair all the way to his skin and said it was because he wasn't staying still. When I got home I realized they had cut a piece of his skin off, on his upper right leg, and it made sense why he was aggressive, because THE CUT HIM. His wound was even bleeding. I had to take him to the vet, and the vet gave him antibiotics to help his healing process and he had to have a cone for a bit. I really don't recommend, and the prices are very expensive then other groomers in the area, especially for that type of service. read more

Agist Petsmart Grooming Policy If you have a dog 10 Years old or more you must pay a surchage of $11 which apparently is a coprorate policy - Although not wittem any where for customers to see .The sting happens when any dog over 10 must elect Express service whcih limits time at the groomers to 90 minutes max. For this only option owners of more mature dogs are penalized $11 - No exceptions . Petsmart refuse to temporarily board 'older " dogs post grrominng Dogs under ten years of age can remain at the spa for up to five hours and do not have to pay the surcharge which is optiional as is express service . Not a fair treetment Nice staff but moronic coroprate management read more

I don't understand why they can't make express appointments! I just need the face done and can't get in ! I won't leave my dog to sit in a cage read more

I walked in there ready to buy a hamster but i like no type of pets in there the place look sad and gloomy asf it looked mad empty and it took my 20 minutes to find where they self the hamster and it took me another 10 minutes for someone to help me perchase the hamster there like 5 costumers and 2 employees like what? I signed the paper work and homegirl said they dont recommend there cages because of how small they are and it can be lethal to the hamster and she tryna sell me a 20 gallon fish tank for one hamster where i could get a decent size cage for 13 bucks then homegirl's mans came in tried to unlock it but homeboy gave up because he could not find the key to the door boy said you can buy it now and come back tmr in the morning to get the hamster so i dipped on them with the paper work i signed in there hands. This was the worst experience every imma go to Stamford to buy my joints read more

I arrived at petsmart to look for a new litter box for my cat. Out of the slim choses I chose one. It happened to be the last one... the real only desirable one left. Only problem it had very deep and severe scratches on the top of it in plain sight. I asked the manager Tracy if they had any more and if they didn't would he take anything off on this one due to severe damage. He told me he gots no more and it's regular wear and tear . I don't know about u ... but my understanding of wear and tear is when I own something and use it ... it's regular use wear... HELLO Tracy. It's new and u own it and it's damaged. I'm a customer and not ignorant .Do not insult my intelligence. You are a terrible manager and bad for your store. I left mad and insulted read more

This review is for the bath Daniel gave my lab mix pup, Charlie. Daniel was great with Charlie, who can be a bit shy with new people, so I appreciated how gentle he was when leashing her. It was Christmas Eve but the service only took an hour. Charlie came out happy and clean, her fur soft and nails smooth. read more

I took my kitty to the grooming salon recently and Stephanie and Max were amazing! They were very patient and gentle with my (scaredy) cat.

i went to pet smart to have my dog groomed many times before, and i had a decent experience, but the last time i went was terrible. my dog is generally sorta fluffy, and all the beaut was cut and it was terrible. the worst part is HER WISKERS WERE CUT OFF. took a while to grow back, but now we are going to other places and we have had much better experiences. read more

I've been a loyal grooming client for my 2 dogs for a long time now and I'm starting to get really annoyed with the service. I don't know if anyone in the grooming dept is going to read this but... please stop calling me to tell me that the last time I brought in my dogs was 2 months ago, when I just brought them in a week and a half ago. This isn't the first time I've gotten this call a week after my dogs were already there. I used to love coming here because the employees were so friendly, but all of the employees I liked are gone now. I tried to give this location a chance, but it's just not working out. read more

Honestly, I only give the grooming department 3 stars for one reason, and that's because of one person. Savanna. If it weren't for her, I'd give ZERO stars if I could. She's so warm, inviting, and ALWAYS has a smile when I come in to do my puppy's nails every couple weeks. Everyone else on the other hand just asks right away if I have an appointment, as if my dropping in is an inconvenience. The worst one is the manager, Stephanie. You would think that out of all the people that work there, she'd be the one with THE BEST customer service. No way. She has a nasty attitude and I've heard the same things about her from my friends that bring their dogs to be groomed there. They say she's a good groomer, but with that attitude, I don't care how good you are. Rude. read more

I purchased a guinea pig 5 years ago from this location that had ringworm and an upper respiratory infection. It died soon after. I stopped doing any business with this corporation and only purchase my products from reputable companies that have the animals well being as their main priority. A few years later I was selling the way too small cage that a PetSmart employee told me was more than ample space for two Guinea Pigs (but after doing research was not even sufficient for one to live in comfortably). The buyer was a young woman who purchased a dying Guinea Pig from PetSmart. I ended up giving her the cage for free and helping her with the medication to save the animal because PetSmart would not take any responsibility after 14 days that they sold her a very ill animal. I wish my experience with this business stopped there, however I went to the Connecticut Ave location tonight to get a new water bottle for my pets because one had started leaking, and it was beyond disturbing to see every single Guinea Pig in the cage had ringworm. All of them had horrible sores around their eyes, and were between one to two months old. The poor animals were in extreme need of veterinary care, yet the employee I told said it would be the "buyers problem". Ringworm will cost that buyer at least $300 in medical bills for an animal they sell for $30. It's disgusting how they allow animals to suffer, and probably die rather than provide them with proper care. I hope at least one person reads this review and rethinks buying an animal from PetSmart - they don't care about the animals, only profit. read more

Decided I was going to call because last time I was here had to wait 20 minutes to get my dogs nails trimmed and didn't want to go through that again. They honestly don't even deserve one star. I called yesterday in advance asking to make an appointment to get my dogs nails trimmed. They told me that I didn't need to make an appointment and to just walk right in and they could take care of my dog. When I got there about 30 minutes after the phone call they immediately asked me if I had an appointment ( that was my greeting ) I said no, (you just told me on the phone a half hour ago to just come in) and then about 10 minutes of the two girls starring back and fourth at each other they told me to come back at 12:30 because they were backed up and busy. I just drove a half hour to get here and now you're going to make to wait, I even CALLED to make an appointment and you told me not to. Terrible grooming department, customer service sucks. Strike 2 and they don't even deserve a strike 3.. Went to Petco right down the road and they took me right in. Petsmart just lost the sale of all 3 of my dogs at that groomers and I don't plan on visiting the location again because of it. read more

When we picked up our boy after his first visit, he was very agitated and could not get out of the place quick enough. When we came back some time later for another bath, my dog encountered the same older man who was there at his first appointment. As soon as he saw this older employee, he became extremely agitated again and began crying and scratching to get out of the area immediately. I do not feel comfortable leaving my wonderful and kindhearted doggie with this person. There is some reason for his extreme reaction, especially since he hardly even barks at all. read more

On July 4th I took my Maltese to Petsmart in Norwalk,Ct. BEWARE!! This was the worst grooming experience i ever had for my dog. My Maltese was shaved down to the skin by Cheryll. I admit my Maltese (Cymon) was matted , but Cheryll was told to cut out the mats and not comb them out ; so she does not hurt my Maltese. I use your grooming service in Orange but even though he was matted at sometime they never shaved him down to the skin. I spent on July 4th over $100.00 for a truly disgusting job. Cheryll called me and asked if I wanted Cymon's nails cut or grind down. I said "what is the best way?"she said "grinding". but she never told me it was going to be $13.00 more. Was she just trying to get more money out of me.? $100.00 is a lot of money for a hair cut , which I have no problem paying; but don't make me feel like I'm being ripped off by not disclosing fees and doing a horrible job..This Groomer lacked the skills and training to do a professional job. My Maltese looked like a hairless cat... read more

I will not be back to these groomers. I've been a customer for years. Buy all my food and products here, do training here with Roger (who is awesome), but not so with the grooming salon. I really only wanted a bath, but the groomers are not "allowed" to give baths, I was told so I made an online apt for a full grooming. When I showed up to check in 5 minutes before my scheduled appt I had to wait for the groomer to arrive. Many questions later I was told she could not accept my dog for grooming. I was shell shocked. I'm an existing customer!!! When asked if my dog was on meds, I had responded that I give him an herb to help eliminate his mouthiness and help him to feel calm. WRONG ANSWER!!! Apparently this violates their rules. She said they are not allowed to take a dog who is on any meds for anxiety. She refused to bathe and groom my dog because I give him an HERB! This is not only poor policy to not allow your employees to interpret the rule (a 14 month Golden Retriever puppy, not a danger to society), but if this is their strict policy, why is not stated on the online form when the appointment is made? Wasted my entire day. They have lost my business permanently. read more

I have stopped giving this store/location my business. I stopped by recently on my way to the dog park to buy a chuck-it for my pup. They only had one large chuck-it (I have a large breed so the medium and small ones are a choking hazard.). It was marked for 11.97 and I brought it to the register. The clerk rang it up and said he could not sell it to me because it was ringing up for 0.01$. I said, "can you have a manager come fix it, I am willing to pay full price but this is the last one and I am on my way to the dog park". The man called a supervisor over. The supervisor repeated that they could not sell the item to me because it was being pulled from inventory and should not have been on display. I looked at him and said "you realize that makes no sense that you are a pet store and make money selling pet supplies and have what I am looking for on a shelf with a price and when I bring it to the register to pay for it you say you can't sell it to me?!!?!?" I asked again if he could override the .01 price and charge me the 11.97 so that I could bring my dog to the park and play ball with him. He rolled his eyes, copped an attitude and overrode the price. So I was able to buy the chuck-it. The attitude was that Petsmart was doing me a big huge favor by allowing me to buy a chuck-it at their store. Um guess what Pet-Smart. I spend over 300 a month on raw food at your store for my bullmastiff and that business will be going to Petco from now on as I am not doing you a favor by shopping there. Now you can list all your items for .01 and refuse to sell any of them to anyone. Enjoy! Great business model....obviously one of your senior exec's got their MBA online. read more

Horrible customer service!!! I was a long time customer but cannot believe how down hill they've gone. I booked an appointment..they never wrote it down told me they couldn't groom the dog even though i dragged the poor thing there..rebooked and they still couldn't guarantee he'd be groomed properly because it was the last appointment of the day and they leave early..never again read more

I was a regular customer of PetSmart Grooming Salon for years until today. I brought in my dog to the grooming salon for his appointment. I was informed that there will be a surcharge. There was never a surcharge before for years. Also it was not printed on the price menu. When I tried to explain, the employees were very rude to me. I assume the second employee was the manager. I also witness the lady groomer (manager) mistreating a small white poodle on the grooming table. The poor dog was yelping in pain and shaking in fear, and the groomer just acted like nothing happened to the poor dog and kept yanking its little paw. I am very disturbed by the manner and attitude of the employees to me and the little dog. I am never coming back. read more

I have been going here for a number of years; the other day I went to buy a huge bag of science diet- in their flyer at $4 dollars off- but the register did not bring it up that way- sounds like crap stores like walmart, right? Anyway the checkout girl calls for a price check, reluctantly- I checked it at where it was- the dude comes back and sats "nope" not on sale...I walked and left the whole cart right there- they could have cared less read more

Horrible experience...Will never come back to this place again. If I'm paying for my dog to have her hair cut, I expect what I pay for. I didn't like how one of the staff was being rough with another dog. I will take my business somewhere more friendly. read more

I found the shelves were limited in choices when it came to tough chew toys for my 45 pound puppies. I went up to the register to pay after searching for appropriate sized toys and had an interesting conversation with the sales woman. She was taking an exacto knife razor to several toys and shredding them up. When I asked her what she was doing, she said she was told by management to destroy the unsold toys!!! There was an entire box of perfectly good pet toys that the store couldn't sell. Why couldn't they donate the toys to shelters? Give them away instead of useless destruction? What a waste. I couldn't find anyone to talk to about it and I didn't want to get the sales woman in trouble. read more

This store is not able to maintain adequate inventory. DON"T GO unless you call first. They are often completely out of normal items. You would think that they might increase stock for items that sell out often, but this store doesn't have a clue. I've brought it to their attention many times to no avail. read more

Talk about a disappointment. We show up and they refuse to take our dog because nobody in their staff did their job to notify us prior to coming that we needed to bring the physical, paper rabies certificate because apparently the tag on the collar or the veterinarian's word isn't good enough. Nobody cares about kennel cough vaccinations or distemper so who cares if that gets spread around like polio apparently. Steph in the grooming department is apparently a manager but has the worst customer service skills I've ever seen. Another reason why proof of distemper vaccinations should be required for both animals and staff as a priority over the rabies vaccination. Instead of being helpful (or at least pretending to be) she was unfriendly and snappy. I'm glad I didn't leave my dog in her care and I don't think I'll ever be returning to Petsmart after years of being a customer! I'll be sure to tell me friends and neighbor about my experience. Way to go Steph!! read more

Given up on this location, terribly managed. Busy Saturday evening, stop in to buy a gift card as a Christmas gift. All but one of the check-out lines are barricaded by point-of-sale displays. Several employees crowd the one remaining cashier attending the growing line of patrons trying to checkout. My turn arrives, just a gift card purchase, she refuses to accept my Visa card, insisting gift cards can only be purchased with cash or debit cards. I ask her to repeat the conditions, she does, none of the lolly-gaggers loitering behind her disagrees with the credit card restriction so apparently at that location, that's the law. This store is so sloppily run, I concede without bothering to approach the front end manager and abandon my purchase with a "no thanks". Petco and PetValu just don't fight with customers over anything and never have puddles on the retail floor. I'm not important, but I do deserve better than Petsmart. read more

OMG, I need to find a new place to bring my dogs. They have been at PetSmart for years. I am not sure if it's the high turn over of employees, but let just say they are lacking costumer service skills to say the least. Please get these people some training. They are not friendly, are inconsistent with their rules (depending on the day you might get a different answer as to how they do things), unaccommodating, unmotivated bunch. The managers...let's just say they have no way of knowing what happens in the grooming salon; why you might ask???They are never in there, so the employees run it however they want. The problem with this is that they are unable to help you as well. There attitude here is "I am doing you a favor" type of attitude". If it wasn't for the trouble of getting their records and finding somewhere else to take my dogs, I would've stop taking them years ago. Hoping this Friday will be my last visit with these unhelpful "I can care less" associates. HORRIBLE costumer service I don't think the know the defection of the term. This review is nice considering I can't say what I'd like do to the guidelines. read more
