When I dropped off my dogs to get groomed Kaitlyn, informed me that because my little dog has some tangles in her hair that she was going to have to Shave some of it off, she never mentioned that she would be completely shaving her hair off. You can tell that the groomer did not care since my other dog was more tangled and he looked perfect. We asked for a teddy bear and they gave us a rat look a like back. My dog is quite hyper but she approached her with confidence and Mochi took to her right away. Ayla did a great job for me and I will certainly request her next time! As I was walking up to the store, the door was locked not realizing that it was already 8 PM. As Michelle was opening the door for a customer that was just leaving, she saw me and asked if I needed any help. I told her the situation with my cat and that I needed emergency wet food as he has a UTI. Michelle without hesitation recommended a brand and told me to go right in to pickup the food. She even went back with me to help me find it. My cat not only loved the food but he immediately improved going in the litter box. Scheduled a grooming appointment only for them to call me two days before the appointment and say they actually couldn't take my dog because he's a large breed with a thick coat and they didn't have the time to do it. Now they're booked up for the next week to come. Won't have time to get him groomed here before Christmas, and frankly I don't really want to now. I asked how to avoid this in the future, and they said I would have to call every time and couldn't use the app to schedule it so they can allot more time. Overall very inconvenient and unprofessional to wait so long to call me. There were four appointments available at the time when I booked it. If they caught this sooner, I would have had time to bring him in earlier on the day I had scheduled him for. Maybe PetSmart should fix their app to include more information so it blocks off the appropriate time for the groomers. read more

Made appointment for a bath and brush for my dog, which includes nails, feet, sanitary areas trimmed and ears plucked. Picked up my dog, and they didn't trim the feet or the butt area. I doubt that they even gave my dog a bath. He smelled clean at first, but a few hours later, my dog smelled like he did before I took him there and his coat doesn't feel silky like it should be after a bath. They did trim his feet and butt area after I ask them to. Shouldn't that be done when it's included in the package? Why do I have to "tell" them what I want done, when it's clearly stated in the package description? Just felt ripped off, when I could just give him a bath at home! read more

I brought my puppy in for one of the basic grooming packages, which took a bout 2 hours and nobody told me that it would take so long. When I brought him home I realized his dewclaws had not been clipped and his other nails had only been smoothed, but not clipped shorter. The bottoms of his paws still had long hair. I would've saved myself some time and money and done it myself if I knew everything wouldn't be done in the package. read more

Like many establishments that offer similar products, I have a hierarchy for the stores that offer pet food and pet supplies, and specific items that I need at each one. PetValu is at the top of the chain and our go to spot for kitty food. But PetSmart is a close second. We bought a PetSmart brand water fountain a while back, and go to PetSmart for the replacement filters. And they sell the "Greenies" kitty treats in the large bulk bags, which makes them a bit better of a value than I find at PetValu. Our kitties love their num-nums! This PetSmart is located in the Center at Innovation shopping center, making it the closest PetSmart to home. The store is always clean and well organized and the staff is generally friendly. We get a lot of mileage out of this PetSmart. read more

More training is needed; I swear on their website it said for anyone who adopts and brings in adoption papers, petsmart would give you a new adoption kit with $400 in coupons. I asked the cashier, adoption papers in hand, and all she could say was "um... Well we do it for like adoptions from here but not outside adoptions. Dan was extremely knowledgeable and seemed much more enthusiastic and willing to help than the manager. Great guy, and there was never a question he couldn't answer. I was able to purchase just about everything I needed, and he overall really went above and beyond expectations. Even convinced me to sign up for their member program to utilize their promotion on the food i was buying (something i rarely do with businesses, but am extremely glad i did). I never write reviews, but Dan deserves credit where it's due. Cashier with the pink streak hair (sorry for not grabbing your name) made me feel welcomed and not burden despite being among the last customers. I have been taking my dog to the grooming salon at PetSmart in two different locations for many years. I have always encountered nice and helpful service people. Twice in last two years, I took my dog to the Sowder Village Sq. which is now the closest to me. Huge disappointment and frustration with the bad unwilling service. The previous time I left without leaving my dog there, because I arrived 15 min late and they refused to accept her for the scheduled hair cut. Today I had another instance with them when they refused to cut her with the requested length insisting on shaving her because she was matted, according to their words. It is winter weather, it is not safe for my dog to be shaved now. My dog is 13 and gets groomed 3-4 times a year, and this was the first time ever that I was told such a thing. Most of the time I took my dog to the Manassas - Sudley Manor location, and I was always impressed with their manners and service. That's where we will go again. I've heard all the horror stories about grooming services at "big box" stores, but in all honesty we had always had a good experience here. Our dog enjoyed coming for his bath and trim, and the staff appeared to fawn all over him when he arrived. Last time we brought him here, though, he came home with a terrible razor burn that still hasn't healed. Now I know these things happen even in the best establishments, but no one said anything to us when we picked him up. Unfortunately we didn't see it until we got home, but it was obvious that they were aware since they had applied ointment to it. Like I said, I would have been ok if the groomer had said, "sorry this happened...here's some hydrocortisone to put on it until it heals," but nothing. Fess up when something goes wrong! read more

If I could give a rating lower than 1 star I would. I dropped my dog off to get a bath and nails trimmed, and he started bleeding as soon as we got home. Nobody had told me that his nails were cut short, or that he had been bleeding in the store. I called to complain, and I was transferred without warning. The next person I spoke to told me how to treat the bleeding and told me that the nails were supposed to be cut until they were pink. Nobody said they were sorry or even asked for my name or my dog's. I will not be bringing my dogs back there, and I recommend that nobody does either. read more

After my first visit to this grooming facility, I will no longer do business with Petsmart. Apparently, this location only services dogs. I have been a loyal customer to Petsmart for years because I believe in buying the best in quality for my pets. But since Petsmart has decided to decline to service me, I will gladly take my pets to an independent groomer for all of my needed services. I will no longer shop in your stores for any service or product and will encourage all others to do the same. read more

Not a super great experience. Brought in my dog and to get his nails trimmed, I watched as they did his back paws but they were unable to do his front. I really didn't feel like a lot of effort was made to comfort him. They maybe spent about two minutes before they gave up. read more

I visited PetSmart earlier this week with my kids. We were there to purchase fish and waited an extremely long time before we could get anyone to help us. There was an employee cleaning the tanks and was evidently dedicated to completely that task before helping us - he cleaned about 10 tanks before he acknowledged we were waiting and then a couple more after finally asking if we needed help. Once we had our fish we waited in line for about 10 mins because only one register was open. I should mention however that one employee did approach us when we entered the store asking if we'd like assistance and I explained we needed a minute to look first. I didn't see her again after that but she was friendly. This was our 3-4 trip to this location and while we do tend to wait around alot the staff is generally friendly once they get to you, just make sure you're not in a hurry. read more
