PetSmart and Banfield have treated all of my Pets very well. Have never had any concerns with services provided or products.

This review is on the Petshotel. I had my senior dog boarded over the July 4th weekend. I have used other boarding services. This one seemed typical. I don't think my dog got much attention during her stay. When I called they said she wasn't eating or playing with the other dogs. I realize they had 200 dogs boarded that weekend but wasn't a good experience for us read more

I was very nervous as place can be hit or miss. Jane was great though! She styled my baby so well, he was very even and still fluffy. Only complaint is the inner ears were not cut but that is fixable. Highly recommend Jane. read more

I've had only positive experiences at this PetSmart location. Staff is always friendly and greets me when I walk in. I buy most of my puppy/dog supplies here, have used the training classes, doggy day camp, and pets hotel. The doggy day camp/pets hotel staff are incredible! My dog is obnoxious and hyper and they are so sweet to her! I used to take her to someone off Rover, but suspected she may have been mistreated or hit after she started to really resist walking into this person's home (this person was HIGHLY rated on Rover). My dog had come home with cat scratches once, which is how I found out the Rover sitter was letting her grown children take my dog to their homes without notifying me. At Petsmart the staff seems knowledgeable about all breeds - they expected and were understanding of my boxer bouncing around like Tigger - not annoyed. They obtain and retain health records, and they have planned out activities. My dog is always PUMPED to go in for a doggy day camp day and tuckered out when I pick her up. Thank you SO much to the wonderful staff! I would recommend this team/location to anyone. read more

if I could give a ZERO I would! First off- back story- used to take all our dogs here until they shaved my Pomeranian and ruined all of her fur, it never grew back like it was supposed to. The groomer said they screwed up. really??? no kidding! So today we take my dog in bc the other place we've been using was on vacation, he was to get a bath and cleaned up, face trim. But no, instead we get a fluffy dog, face disgusting and zero trim. I talk to them and the chick tells me oh no no trim I can only do a bath. ok well that's not what he was to get nor was it the impression when he was dropped off and his face was a mess! The chick employee argued with me I said no, give me a manager, then the manager tried to blame us for this? ummm NO. Bring him back we can rebathe him and charge you more for a cut he said no trim. NO HE NEVER SAID NO TRIM THAT WAS THE POINT OF THE BATH! These people on South Kipling are THE WORST! Completely incompetent and when you call them on it, they blame you! so if you want rude staff and pay 40 bucks for a half dirty dog this is your place! never again read more

Made an appointment for our less than 1yr old Corgi, Hudson, for the grooming department at this PetSmart location. Hudson had been to this location before with no issues. We arrive at 9:55AM for his 10AM appointment. The store is busy checking in a line of dogs, no big deal. While checking in Hudson, we confirm the services we want and the young woman helping us says we don't need the premium shampoo package since we are doing the furmenator package (thank you). We also confirm, not once, not twice, but three times to please, not trim Hudson's nails. They were just done this week and he doesn't like anyone else doing them but his two owners. We signed the paperwork and left Hudson for his spa day while my husband and I were planning to enjoy an Easter brunch with friends at a local favorite, Lucille's. Fast forward about and hour, my food literally just arrives and I get a call from PetSmart grooming from the young lady originally assigned. (This will be important later.) She says that Hudson has been "naughty" and was nipping at her while she attempted to bathe Hudson. She also indicated that he kept trying to jump out of the bath and was worried about him "choking himself out". This is extremely atypical behavior for our sweet puppy. So, I inquired "what happened?". She said that he started being aggressive when they clipped his front nails and were unable to get the back. I told the young lady that, at check in, I confirmed multiple times that his nails were not to be trimmed and that he hates it unless our protocol was followed. Instead of an apology, she said "well, I wish someone would have told me." As if it's our fault for their failure to communicate instructions to the groomer. What this young lady said next, infuriated me to the point of being unable to take a single bite of the food sitting in front me. I asked her "how is he doing right now?". The response, "he's still wet from the bath. He's in the kennel right now drip drying. Since we can't continue today, we'd like to reschedule and have you come pick him up now". Since when is it okay to put a soaking wet dog into a kennel and leave him there? The thought of a puppy, a 9 month old puppy, sitting in a kennel by himself, shivering and wet nearly sent me over. So, we cut our brunch short, pack up all our food that hadn't been touched and pay the bill. Just as we are getting up, I get another call from PetSmart, this time from Kendall. I could be mistaken, but I believe Kendall was the person who groomed Hudson the last time he was there and she did good work. However, today wasn't Kendall's day. After answering, Kendall informs me that she took over for the first young lady and she had completed the furmenator bath for Hudson and trimmed his back nails... (the level of incompetence over the nail situation is now at laughably absurd levels). She states that she can have him finished in about 2 hours. I matter of factly tell her that we are already on the way and to have him dry and ready when we arrive in about 15 minutes. The response: "Okay. Bye. ::click::" The rudeness was uncalled for and unprofessional. The only thing good that came out of this was the fact we didn't have to pay for anything. This experience makes me question whether I will ever return to this location. If a 9 month old Corgi puppy is too much to handle, what happens with dogs that match weight with these groomers? My experience with this location is hit or miss. Unfortunately, today was a big miss. read more

I like this PetsMart mostly due to its location (convenient if in the Park Meadows area). Plus it has all the extras - big grooming area, Banfield Vet, PetsHotel and large training area in the middle of the store. I wish there was a "no star" rating but... My husband took our 7 year old Shih Tzu to the Groomer's at the PetSmart @ 8200 S. University for his 10:00a appointment for bath/trimming.  This was Turbo's THIRD visit by the way. Julia (who had bathed/trimmed him the prior two times) asked, AGAIN, about whether Turbo had his rabies shot.  Although, this fact had been confirmed at the other two appointments (and his shot was good for 3 years) there was no record of this in their system  She had assured my husband that the information was updated in the system at both prior appointments.  Yet, today, it was the same conversation and she refused to honor the appointment since the Vet's office was closed.  She also stated that if she couldn't confirm the vaccination, her manager (in the back) would be upset with her. My husband returned home and called the Grooming Department, asking for the manager.  Christine (who answered the phone) said the manager was NOT in (huh, Julia had said the manager WAS in) but Christine went on to say maybe she could assist. My husband explained what had just transpired and rather than be helpful, Christine became very rude and raised her voice (almost yelling).  My husband just hung up.  Who wants to deal with that kind of "customer service"? Aside from the fact that they obviously didn't update their system, they could have easily called prior to the appointment to say they didn't see a record of a rabies shot and, perhaps, saved my husband the time and trouble to get up early on a Sunday to keep the appointment. NOTE: My husband noticed that when Julia came out to greet him, Turbo began to tremble as soon as he heard her voice.  We realize most pups don't relish going to the groomers but he noticed another pup there (waiting his turn) and it was CHAINED to the floor anchor on a short leash.  You'd think they would put the pups in a cage, etc. so they could await their turn, not bound and chained to the floor! This is not the first time we've had issues with this location.  Our daughter has an Australian Shepard...sweetest dog ever!  They complained about him every time she took him in so she began taking him to a different location and hasn't heard a negative comment since. We are extremely unhappy with our experiences and strongly recommend NOT using this location's pet grooming services. read more

Do not use them for grooming! We took my 15 month old dog to this location, since he would be in a nervous breakdown after getting his nails trimmed at the Castle Rock store (especially after I caught one of their groomers sitting on my dog). I informed the groomer-who acted like she did not want to be there-that my dog gets nervous and to talk calm to him and not pin him down. She in turn made a very sarcastic comment. We obeyed and left the room but watched the nail trimming in case we needed to come back in and collect him. He did fine with his back paws but after she started his front paws he lost it. Yelping the works. She said he bit him...I apologized for that. She told me when they were done that he needs to go to a vet to get tranquilized!! We got home and noticed that our dog was bleeding. Turns out the incompetent groomer cut the first nail she cut on his front paw--which caused my dog to lose it because he was in so much pain. He bled forever and was clearly in distress for an hour after his nail trimming. We reached out to Bridget-the assistant manager-who did not care. Do not under any circumstances let your dog get groomed at this store. Those groomers only care about what color their hair will be and what new piercing to get on their faces. They don't care about your dog. Update: I was contacted by our store manager who encouraged me to bring my dog to the vet on site to get his paw checked out. We declined as my dog was still distressed over it, and we knew that bringing him back to that place would cause him to have a nervous breakdown. The store manager was very apologetic, confirmed that the other groomers backed up our claims, and while he couldn't tell me what he was going to do with that 'groomer' did inform me that he was going to be taking care of matters. Either way, it is in my dog's best interest to never go into that store again. read more

They were horrible to my little man. He was shaved and cut on his stomach. Now he shakes when going to other groomers.

I have been shopping at petsmart for years and I will not return to the lone tree petsmart as long as the Genevieve works there. Every time I go into that store and ask for help, she is rude and just disrespectful. Not helpful and very derogatory. I will not return. Someone need to get her attitude checked. I have never in my life left a review, but this girl is beyond rude! Terrible customer service and down right nasty! Buyer beware. read more

Took my westie to get groomed and he looks TERRIBLE. His neck is shaved so closely that you can see his pink skin and it's like the groomer through a couple a swipes of the close razor and then decided they wanted to fix it. We called to complain and they said that the problem was that my dog was "not well behaved". Isn't it the job of the groomer to calm down the dog or at the very least call us, the owner, to say that our dog is "not well- behaved" so he could be picked up? Also we asked for a westie skirt and he doesn't have one. read more

My youngest brother and I went to this store today to look at the hamsters. We had been to a PetSmart immediately before coming here, and were sad to see that some of the hamsters were dirty. When arriving here, the store was clean and the animals inside looked happy and well cared for. After looking we decided to get a hamster and unfortunately there was only one pet care person working, however, the manager made sure to get someone to us right away and he did. The man who helped us was so friendly and wonderful. On our way to the checkout, another woman stopped and asked us if we had held them hamster to make sure it didn't bite. We hadn't, and it made my heart happy to know that this woman was looking out for my brother. I am so happy with this store and the employees in it. While this farther from me, I will make sure to go to this store in the future! read more

Had my dog stay at this Petsmart Hotel for the weekend while the family did a staycation. Absolutely the worst decision I made. When I picked up my dog, I noticed they did not give her any of her "creature comforts" that was brought from home to help her try to stay calm. But that was even the worst of it... they informed me that she hadn't urinated ALL weekend. How they figured this was ok or healthy is beyond me. So now I'm on standby to see if she has a UTI or any other health issues due to not urinating. read more

After getting a call the morning of telling me that the APPOINTMENT that I had made a couple weeks ago was too late and needed to be moved earlier, I accommodated Katie's request and left work early to try to get my dog to his appointment early (only 15 minutes so not a huge deal but still unprofessional). The groomer told me it would be about an hour to an hour and a half and it ended up only taking about 25 minutes for my dog to be washed/dried/teeth brushed/nails trimmed for which I paid a bit extra for. He came out still with the gunk in his eyes that he had going in and his nails aren't trimmed and he doesn't even smell like shampoo, even though I again paid extra for the good shampoo. This is the second time I've taken my dog here and the second and last time I have been disappointed by not getting anything I pay for. read more

I've been taking my Old English Sheepdog Pippa to Doggie Day Care at this location for a year now. She loves it and the staff there love her, too. I have every confidence that the PetsHotel personnel take excellent car of her. Recently, I have had an accident that broke my right shoulder in three places, so Pippa has been there day and night for the last couple of weeks. I miss her terribly and can't wait to bring her home, but I know that in the meantime, she is in the best possible environment. This location doesn't act like a corporate chain store. They are like family to Pippa and me. They are always having events for the pets, including photos and doggie ice cream. I couldn't recommend this location any more highly! read more

I just relocated to the Denver metro area from Southern California. While in SoCal, I brought my Border Collie puppy to the Brea, CA Petsmart location on a regular basis to doggie day camp. She LOVED it in Brea. However, today was my first time to take her to the Park Meadows location. I walked away disappointed. At the Brea location, she was the "life of the party" but I was told here at the Park Meadows location, she was shy and only played with one other dog. Hmmmm...that is not like her. When I picked her up, I had a rather long wait before I was acknowledged and I was pressed for time (in the middle of coordinating a lot of things related to moving to a new state). The lady seemed annoyed that I was annoyed. She wasn't even busy as there was only one other person besides me there and he was just asking general questions about the services. They knew this was my dog's first time here and clearly they did nothing to acclimate her. I certainly didn't walk away with a warm, fuzzy feeling. I didn't even get the typical "Pawgress Report" that I always got at the Brea location. The staff were not as friendly. I'm giving it one more chance tomorrow but I'm bummed because I thought this might be her new hang out while we are at work. Now, I'm reading reviews of other places that have more positive comments. read more

This place is a ripoff and the doctors are awful and know nothing!!!! My dog has had a rash on her stomach for months and they keep giving her medicine instead of telling me what is causing it!!! I boarded my dog over the Christmas holiday, the check-in was relatively quick and staff was some-what friendly. I called once during the week to check on him, I'm led to believe they actually did check on him, since they placed me on hold for a few minutes. Here are my concerns regarding the PetHotel. 1. The play areas is SMALL. Like first time home owner in NYC small. 2. They said they would have him washed by the time check-out came. When I picked my dog up at 10:30 (check out is at 11) he wasn't washed. They merely just sprayed him with fabreeze (or similar air freshener) only after I refused their offered to "spray him off" in freezing weather. 3. They charge $31 for boarding and an extra $16 for play time (per day). For that rate (or cheaper) there are other PetHotels with nicer facilities and larger play areas. read more

I was surprised at how dirty this place was. The bathrooms were scarier than the ones at gas stations on Colfax.

A review for this Petsmart location is way overdue. I've had to battle with my preference not to support stores who sell animals and the reality that it is more cost effective for me to make a one-stop shop for all of my animals (over ordering online from two or three stores and paying for shipping). At least Petsmart continues to work with local rescues to help get pets adopted. This location occasionally has pups for adoptions and always has cats in the back. Anyway, I am a fan of this location because it is huge and easily navigable. Because I'm buying for dogs, parrots, guinea pigs, a degu and a gecko, I always have a cart to push around and I NEVER have to worry about blocking aisles or running into someone's pet at this location. I can find everything I need quickly, and with my PetPerks card I often find that at least a few of the items I need to purchase are on sale. Sometimes I'll stock up on a specific item if the sale is good. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. I rarely have to wait long to get worms from the back for my gecko. They sell Roudybush pellets for parrots which I appreciate (they are a higher quality pellet than most of the products they sell). Petsmart has also started selling some higher quality dog foods including Wellness. I've picked up dogs from Petshotel for my clients and have always had a nice experience (I reviewed Petshotel separately). So, yes, they sell birds from bird mills at exorbitant prices (their birds come from Kaytee mills). I'm not sure where the rest of the small animals come from, and I'd encourage everyone to do their research before purchasing a pet here, but overall I'm a fan of this Petsmart and will continue to be! read more

I called a couple of days ago because I was online looking at the dog crates. I used to work in retail so I wanted to make sure a particular crate was in stock before driving there because sometimes the online doesn't match in store availability. I call and a woman answers. I ask her if there was any way she could tell me what crates she had in store currently. She flat out told me no. After asking why she said she was on a register. When I asked if there was any one else in the store that could just take a look for me she said no because they were all on the register. I then asked if she had some kind of device she could just look it up with at the register and she told me no. I was kind of shocked at how unhelpful and rude she was and started to say okay when she hung up on me. It was 6 o'clock in the evening and every time I had been in that store around that time, there's next to no one shopping there. She was also able to answer the phone which I'm assuming means she could have walked away to look, especially with others at the registers. That woman was extremely lazy, rude and just overall unfriendly. I will never shop here again. Petco has always been better. read more

We take our cats to get groomed by Eileen and she is AMAZING! I absolutely love her. She is kind, genuine, professional and just an all around wonderful human. Our cats LOVE her. One of our cats, Gigi, is a senior cat. She is obese, nearly blind, suffering from kidney disease, cannot hear well, etc. She's a hot mess who we rescued and fell in love with. Because of her weight due to her illness she cannot properly groom herself and scares easily (she was abused at her former home). Gigi LOVES Eileen. She even lets her give her a bath, blow-dry, brushing, etc. She doesn't fuss and is so happy when we pick her up. Our other rescue, Fiona has long hair and doesn't groom herself well as she was homeless as a kitten and wasn't taught by her cat mom. Eileen says that Fiona actually plays in the bath and has fun! We will not go ANYWHERE else but with Eileen. We LOVE her! read more

She was done in an hour which never happens and they ground her nails.....ha....you could see ground spots on the top...yes I said the top....but nothing on the actual end of her nails. All in all I paid $60 for her to smell better. Will NEVER recommend this one or go to again! Such a rip off read more

This is the best location I've ever been to! I take my dogs in and they are always treated wonderfully. The hotel has undergone some recent changes and the new manager Trey is truly great. He cares about the animals and the pet parents so much. He will go out of his way to ensure that you are 100% comfortable leaving your dogs there. Be very careful with trusting your dog with Reena. I witnessed her get aggressive with my dog. Petsmart at Park meadows center is the Worst place to board your puppy. You can never count on a reservation you made. This happened to us twice, their system is so screwed. A tall lady (Amanda) who seemed to be in charge on the 25th March 2017 was so rude and unfriendly to customers, her staff still seemed polite. I purchased a filtration system for my aquarium ($150) and then when I got home I came to discover that they had sold me a used product. I guess someone returned the item and they just put it back on the shelf that way. It was disgusting and dirty. This shows that the employees are not doing their job. It takes an entire 5 seconds to open a box and see whether or not the product has been used or not. This caused me a HUGE inconvenience to have to go back and exchange it for another one because I live up in the mountains and it's a 45 minute drive for me each way. Besides that point, it should be the job of the managers to make sure the merchandise is not put back on the shelf if it has already been used. read more

I am very disappointed with Petsmart. A year ago, I would have given this place three stars. But, based on my last two experiences, I will never board my dogs here again. In December, we boarded our three dogs for ten days, an unusually long time for us. When we picked up our dogs, they were tired, a little smelly, and two of the three had lost some weight. (Since one only weighs six pounds, weight loss is a big concern.) Because the stay had been so long, I chalked the weight loss and smell to the duration of the stay. However, today we picked the three dogs from an overnight stay, and they all smelled of urine, even their leashes. The one dog we had in "doggy day care" smelled the worst. We had left food for our smallest dog, a finicky eater. The staff never feed him, handing us back the two containers we had left, unopened. Also, while we were waiting for our dogs, I was watching the folks cleaning the kennels. These folks, who I realize probably are paid only minimum wage, have no interest in the animals. They were sloppy, and obviously disgruntled. Based on my last experience, I'm crossing this place off my list. read more
