I'm just an aggravated customer. I've been to the grooming shop at Pet Smart SIX times, and have only had my dog groomed once. Doesn't make sense does it? They always seem to have an excuse as to why they can't do something, or the appointment will just cancel without you knowing about it. Example: I drove my puppy 20 minutes to Pet Smart, the lady goes, "oh we had to cancel the appointment the groomer had to leave." While I understand everyone has a life outside of work, you should have called and told me. So I wasted over an hour with driving there, having an useless conversation, and then having to drive BACK to my house to drop my dog off bc I had other things planned while he was supposed to be getting groomed. I could write a book on the rest of it, but I actually need to find another groomer to give my baby a haircut. I don't recommend this location of PetSmart, it's more of a nuisance given that it's a hit or miss when you go. read more

Went in to purchase a snail. The woman working in the aquarium department asked if I needed help. I told her what I wanted and she asked what size tank I have. After telling her, I got a lecture about how my goldfish is miserable because it is in a tank less than 30 gallons (for one goldfish). Funny, because my goldfish in my 5 gallon tank has been alive for 3 years. I always assumed he was happy. He never told me otherwise. Needless to say, I didn't purchase anything from this store and I never will. I don't like people who prejudge and assume I'm ignorant. When I got home, I asked my goldfish if he was unhappy. He said he was great and wondered where the snail was. Well, maybe Petco will sell me a snail for my clearly miserable goldfish. read more

My boyfriend and I recently adopted a dog and became first time pet owners. We went into PetSmart nervous because we weren't sure what we needed before our dog came home with us. Luckily Don, the manager helped us out that day and made us feel so much more at ease! He is extremely kind and knowledgeable. I have been going to petsmart now for over 10 years. My rescued bichon/terrier has got his hair done at petsmart all over the country as I have to move every couple years with my job. Recently they instated an express fee as they can't put him in a kennel because he is now over 15 years old. First time they didn't tell me until they billed me but the manager waived the fee since I didn't know about it prior to booking. I now know and have been happily paying the fee about every month and a half to two months for almost 6 months. Every time they say you know this is express and it is extra. Awesome. Cool. I'm good. Today I booked his appointment on Saturday for today being Monday. I'm off on Monday's so it worked today. I go to drop him off and I say pick him up in an hour right. I get told no it's closer to 3 hours. I bring up that he is 16 and I've been told the last 4 times he's been groomed that he has to do express and I'm fine with 3 hours because you wouldn't know my dog is 16 as he still acts like a puppy. The groomer talks to the manager and then tells me that no one there has time to groom him today. What do you mean? I booked the appointment online like I always do and I always come here with my dog to get groomed. The manager then told me that I need to call to make my appointments and not book online. But his age is online as well as in his profile. I work crazy hours for work and petsmart isn't usually open when I am available to call. They said that I have to call every time, MIND YOU I HAVENT HAD TO DO THAT FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS OF COMING HERE. And then they had the nerve to try and get me to rebook for tomorrow which I had already told them I work and can't bring him then. No. I will not be back. Petsmart has lost a 10 year + customer. Blaming the customer for not calling when nowhere does it say I need to? And no apology about the inconvenience or anything. Just it's my fault I didn't call. I am so sad because my dog loved coming here. But if customer service isn't going to help or own the fact that it's their system this is broken which is leaving the customer in the lurch? No. I won't be back. And I won't use petsmart anywhere on the country ever again. read more

I typically shop at PetSmart. Whats extremely disappointing, is how the "vet techs" informed me they have NO knowledge about cats. Only dogs. A "vet tech" ONLY knowing about dogs? Im thankful I wasnt there to bring in my cat (which I know now that I never will.....), but I simply asked if they had any recommendations for a cat behaviorist. You dont have to be a cat expert to have recommendations. I was told, "I have no idea about cats. Pretty much everyone here only knows about dogs." Shameful. Its a PET hospital. TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Expensive! Run better sales already. The same bags I was buying a year or so ago...well...they are now smaller and cost more...seriously? The checkout is always quick so that I appreciate and the large parking lot...although watching dogs poop is not really my favorite while I am drinking a latte...they should designate an area off to the side of the building. read more

Poor customer service. Went in to buy some guppies. Was informed by a rude associate Debra that she was not going to sell me guppies because she believe the tank I have is too small. A 10 gallon tank is more than enough room for 6 guppies. Seeing as how a tank of that size follows the inch per gallon rule when having multiple fish in one tank. She did not express her opinion in an educated or polite manner. She did however shut down and proceeded to try and lecture me... I left and she lost business. Just had the worst experience at the Petsmart in Las Colinas. We went in to buy kitty litter and noticed a playful kitten in the adoption center. We weren't there to adopt a cat, but this guy was adorable. We asked to hold the kitten and see if it liked us. We waited 30 minutes for help. Finally, I asked the cashier for help and an associate came by and said all the cats were sick and needed to be cleared. He exact words were: "No cats are being adopted out today. I guarantee that kitten will be here tomorrow. If he is cleared tomorrow you can adopt him, but no cats are going out today." Disappointed, we went home planning to return at 0900 tomorrow. My wife decided to call the store, just 3 hours after we left, and we were told that Spikey had been ADOPTED BY SOMEONE ELSE!!! What the heck? We were just there! He lied to me, to my wife and to my daughter, who is also adopted. We will never go back to any Petsmart again. Period. read more

The groomers here did an excellent job bathing and grooming my pomeranian. Her fur mats and tangles very easily and she had none when I picked her up. She looked great! read more

I've had my issues with the groomers at this Petsmart in the past, but I'm very happy with the job Rhonda did on my little Shih-Tzu Prim. She's a little tiny thing and kind of nervous, so Rhonda used scissors on her legs instead of shears, which I'm more than fine with. This is the store I prefer to use, as they are the most convenient for me, but haven't been able to for a while. So good to know they have a groomer I can trust. I will be back with both Prim and my other dogs. read more

I've owned dogs all of my life and used many groomers across many states, so I know what it should look like. I saw a little Asian guy "grooming" a sweet sheepdog that absolutely screamed in pain each time he tried to shave its feet. He was hitting the dog with the sheers each time he tried to shave it. He was SO ROUGH with that dog, it was painful to watch. I thought about going to the manager, but you could hear the dog screaming through the store, so they had to know, and I assume it happens all the time. All the rest of the grooming staff was watching this very uncomfortably. No way am I taking my dogs here! read more

Maybe I'm not used to stores being so large but this building is huge! It looks like a warehouse from the outside. Although there's not a giant selection of stuff, it seems like every other Petsmart in the country. Basic mainstream pet supplies. This place is great for stocking up with all the pet stuff we got rid of for the move. It's helped our cats adjust to our new home halfway across the nation so that's a relief after the traumatic flight. We walked past the small obedience school in the middle of the store; the dog wasn't listening at all (our cats have that in common ;-) I'm sure we'll be back and although this probably isn't a possibility, it would be nice to see a wider variety of specialty brands (our cats eat Taste of the Wild but I haven't seen a Petfood Express around here, they're spoiled). The parking lot is huge also; I don't see that many people wanting to go to Petsmart at the same time in the future so maybe its a waste of space, but I guess there's plenty of space to go around here. The employees could be a bit more friendly and energetic but whatever, doesn't bother me any. read more

I took my dog, Raider, to be groomed and it was the most terrible experience. I had an appointment at 2:00 and dropped him off early as requested. Grooming typically takes an hour to an hour and a half, however no one told me that the person designated to groom my dog needed to take her lunch break. So I waited around for two and a half hours for him to be finished. On top of that, he was supposed to have his ears cleaned and I specifically asked when I picked him up if they had done it. The girl lied to my face and said she had, however when I got him home his ears had clearly not been cleaned. Please do NOT take your pets here to be groomed! read more

I would give this Petsmart 3 stars (and that's generous for this store) if it wasn't their awfully kept fish department. Every time I visit this Petsmart the tanks are cloudy, or one of their show tanks is filled with algae. The last couple of times I visited (within two weeks) there was a serious Ich problem in at least 3 of their tanks, and they are still selling these sick, poor fish. The staff is helpful, but I'm not so sure they know what they're talking about. One time I witnessed their "dog training class" mentor reading the instructions from the paper. Didn't have my product in store. They gave me same product different brand in store for same price (it was $20 more expensive). And they let me use a coupon. Five-star service. And both employees that helped me were super nice and helpful. read more

Staff really has no idea what they are doing. They can't answer basic questions about pets.
