I was dog sitting Khloe today and decided to stop here to see what they had for dogs. I thought they would have a section with water available for dogs, but I didn't see one. They had a decent selection of dog toys and other items. There was only one checkout lane open when we arrived, so the line was really long. We also had a hard time finding the dog treats and ended up having to ask a worker for help. They were actually in the first aisle, but we completely missed them because the checkout line was long and blocking the view. I ended up buying Khloe some dog treats, and she really liked them! The small bag was about $5, which I thought was reasonable. Thankfully, they eventually opened another checkout lane, so we didn't have to wait too long. Customer service was good. It was a decent quick stop while I was out with Khloe. read more

I went in some time earlier the other week to try and help a friend get their fatter of the two cats they had to be washed because of their mobility issues and I couldn't because of time constraints and the cat was starting to stink. We take the cat there to hopefully get her all clean and brushed out, but because of how her fur is, it looked like she had flea dirt. So she turned us away, I'll give her that she was polite and clear with us that the cat needed a bath and some treatment. She didn't, her fur is literally multi colored, we bathed her today and combed her five different times in her bath once before and after brushing out loose fur, twice in the bath while we were washing her off and once after and we found no trace of fleas or flea dirt. Now she's clean, we're both aching bc I have back issues, my friend is chronically ill, and the cat is clean as a whistle and pissed at us for taking two hours to clean her. I wasn't sure if it was because we laid out the cats issues of being new to bathing and she has some anxiety and attitude when it came to other people she didn't know but it wouldn't have taken long to have looked at her coat and been understanding of that she's a thick coated cat that was in need of some bathing because she can't reach anywhere but her paws read more

Called me after having him for forty minutes. Said that they didn't have time to finish his haircut because of how thick his fur was. I chose his breed and weight correctly on the website when I booked the appointment. They charged me $40 instead of $100 and said I need to take him to a personal groomer. what the heck? read more

Recently took my dog for grooming. Paid for bath, cut, nail grinding. Asked for them to cut his beard close, as he was getting food stuck in it, and to please comb out the small new mats that were beginning to form behind his ears. The groomer was supposed to be the trainer for the PetSmart groomers. When I got him back, he had not been bathed, as he still had the same wet dog smell as before his grooming. His nails had been clipped, not dremeled, and his beard is still over long, with food from his previous meal stuck in it. A newly formed mat on his ear was still present. To top this, I was not told he had only been cut, not bathed or dremeled, and no discount or refund was offered. will not be back. read more

I adopted my cat (Ella) a couple weeks ago. I requested her mats be removed/brushed if able, bath, and nails trimmed. I was nervous because of her aggression with the vet. Lisa was very thorough with her questions, and her attitude was awesome. You can tell she enjoys her job. I was happy to hear Ella enjoyed the experience so much, because I don't know what her experience was previously. I will be taking her back when appropriate. read more

LoVe coming to Petsmart for all pet needs! While I do not personally have a dog, my parents do and she's still a family dog! Our dog has some food allergies so we get a lot of their organic brands here, esp the sweet potato treats! I came in this trip, however, to get a cute picture of her with Santa for Christmas. I thought it was awesome they offered this to their customers. If was going on for sat/sun from 12-4. I came on Sunday around 2pm. Short line, organized. Came with a friend and her pup too! Staff was so friendly and excited to see all the little furbabies. Attached are our cuties! read more

Of course, PetsSmart is always going to be consistently a good place to get your pet needs. It is a big chain store, and even so, continues to have high prices. With that being said, their employees are well trained and helpful, and the products are good. I've heard good things about the grooming services but haven't used them. There is also a vet's office in the store. Pets are allowed on a leash. Overall, a great place to shop. read more

The Groomers suck my dog was used to one groomer, but since she is sick. We had to use another groomer. I feel like she didn't let my dog get to know her since, so he is not going to let you get next to him.You can't put a leash on a dog that doesn't know you. I feel like they didn't want to deal with him before he got there. They are already overpriced, and they are inpatient. read more

Please be aware this is for a review specifically for the grooming salon only: My wife and I have been taking our miniature poodle to PetSmart for awhile because we have always loved the service and the way the groomers take care of our little dog. My wife took our dog Lola in today and asked for a Puppy Cut with the Top of her head to be just a little longer and to trim her ear length down a little. When I picked her up, her face was shaved with two bald spots under her eyes (where her tear ducts leak since poodles have over active tear ducts) and he tail was cut like a poodle, along with patches of long hair on her chest. I attempted to call the groomer, whom was disrespectful stating "I don't know what you and your wife were looking for (regarding the cut)." The groomer stated,"I just cut her tail the way it looked like it had been in the past." Our dog has never had a poodle tail in the 5 years she has been alive. The groomer hung up on me as well. I don't know if the groomer hasn't had any experience with cutting poodles but this was the worst experience from a groomer we have ever had. Needless to say, we will not be back to this PetSmart. We will be returning back to Franklin Pet Smart. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. I have been coming here since I moved to Indiana for my poodle mix's grooming. Well, I have alternated between here and another place, but used here when I needed it in a pinch. Anyway. More to the reason for the awful review. I scheduled my poodle mix for a TRIM. A TRIM. I had done the pre check in, and indicated that my dog has health issues to make sure they didn't just blindly check in. I also marked that she was NOT to be put in a dry kennel, and I did NOT want her tail touched *because I trim that myself*. I have been a vet tech for over 13 years- know how to safely trim a tail. I just didn't want to groom her otherwise because honestly I usually prefer an actual groomer. I had my fiance bring my dog in and he told them exactly that. He relayed the information and Petsmart at the time indicated that they "would probably need to trim it if there were matts". News for ya. She's a longer haired dog. She doesnt get matts..she gets knots here and there but admittedly yesterday I didnt brush her because I knew she was going to the groomer. They did NOT ask him a preferred length to cut. They did NOT clarify her health issues. When I picked her up..... my long haired..spunky poodle .... looked like a hack job chihuahua. Even her ears had been touched....and her tail looks like a rat tail. They were not sympathetic. They did not apologize. They claimed there were matts. What matts require you to shave skin tight!??!?!?. It should also be noted that I witnessed the "manager" manhandling a terrified little dog (maybe a pom?) So if your dog is an older pom... be aware, hes probably going to hate nail trims in the future and probably will be sore for a few days. In the checkout line even the manager couldn't hide his face. We will NOT be back. This is poor service and the worst Ive ever had. Im generally a pretty understanding person- she's a mix breed. But this..... this is unacceptable. Photos to be added soon. My phone wont let me upload them at the same time read more

"Reilly can't wait to pamper them with a Bath & Brush - Sheepadoodle. The appointment should last 2 - 3 hours. When: 02/08/2024 11:30 AM Where: 7801 US Hwy 31 S Indianapolis, IN" I have been disappointed with Petsmart but continued to give them a chance. After what transpired on 2/8/24, we will never use Petsmart grooming salon again. The first incident happened when Petsmart called the day of and cancelled our appointment bc the groomer could not lift our dog (totally understand) when trying to reschedule and expecting that they would accommodate us as they cancelled on us, they could not offer anything that day or even a few days out. How is there no plan for a cancelled appointment by the salon to allow for options to work someone in? They booked us over a month out - it was ridiculous. You cancelled on us and cannot get us in or work to squeeze us in. Unacceptable. 2. The next time we asked for our dog to be trimmed. Trimmed only and when we picked him up he was completely shaved. 3. Fast forward to 2/8, we were coming in for a bath and the groomer said she had to check his hack paws (this has NEVER happened before). She took one brush (which I believe was a comb for burs) it did not go all the way through his hair - those combs never do. She said he had matting and that she could not bathe him, that he needed to be groomed which they didn't have time for that day and said we had to reschedule a groom first. This is insane. I was so caught off guard, I did not even know how to reply. I did ask about the matting and why this was something she brought up as they never had before. She rudely replied with, "you don't know how matting happens?" I said I know how matting happens, I'm just confused because he has zero matting. The customer service and grooming salon is absolutely horrible and Petsmart will continue to lose customers if this is how business is conducted. Additionally, while I was there, a customer called to complain that her service was bad and the salon forgot numerous features from her package. Petsmart has lost our business. read more

Normally don't leave reviews good or bad,but after going multiple times i usually had okay experiences. This last time i had a grooming appointment. When i arrived there was another customer who walked in just before me. At this point i am on time for my dogs appointment by the time the lady finished getting her two dogs an appointment and updating there vaccinations records it was 15min from my schedule time. Which at this point she proceeds to tell me i am 15min late and she is unable to take my dogs grooming because of there 15min late policy. Very unprofessional and waste of time. I use to like Petsmart and maybe they have been hit by covid losses but it was definitely not the Petsmart it use to be. Seemed dirty and disorganized and more importantly the prices were through the roof. A big of dog treats was 19.99 but when I checked on Chewy.com they were $6 the exact same item (paid $9.99 at TJ Maxx for same treat as well but they were sold out)!! checked on a few more items and the same result. Its one thing to have a slight price difference but across the board items were 50-75% higher at Petsmart. So buyer be ware it may be better to order off Chewy and wait a few days. read more

I've got a love-hate relationship with PetSmart. I prefer them to any other pet supply chain, but just by a hair. The staff is friendly and will help me out if I need it, but they're not knowledgeable about care for some of the animals, and the animals there aren't kept in great condition which concerns me as well. For example, I recently purchased a snake from the PerSmart on US 31 - which from the start was WAY too underweight for how old it was. Being my first time owning an animal such as this, I was hoping to get some advice from the staff on how to properly take care of him, and what I would need. After following their direction for a few months, I had noticed my snake's health declining quickly, so I took to the Internet. It turns out that almost EVERYTHING I was told was a rumor or myth, and therefore completely wrong. We have since changed the way we take care of our snake, but it breaks my heart that others who purchase an animal like this aren't keeping them in good health. TL;DR - staff is nice, they have everything I need, but if you plan on buying a new pet, DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST and don't listen to the employees who don't know about how to take care of an animal. read more

I've been taking my cairn terroir there for a few years and always been semi-pleased with her grooming but very pleased with the girl who groomed her so I kept going back. They changed groomers The last two times I was called to pick her up because on the first of the two times, they discovered a whole in her chest and couldn't complete her grooming, I wasn't charged because apparently their policy is if they can't complete the job, there is no charge. On the second of the last two times, they cut her potty patch way to close and caused her to bleed so again they couldn't finish. To me, It appeared they had shaved that area. This was a new groomer for our dog, and I think she was careless and probably caused injury to my dog, but I can't prove anything and when I ask for my old groomer, I'm told I have to find a new groomer because of my dog's skin issues which she doesn't have skin issues and she needs sedated to be groomed. If she needs sedation now, it's because she has been traumatized from their mistreatment. My dog is 13 years old and has never had any issues with any groomer nor her vets. As a matter of fact, they always give me compliments on her behavior when I pick her up, and she always gets so excited going there. Their notes on her records are lies saying I requested them not to touch her potty patch area which is the one area I've reminded them to cut as close as they can safely. read more

I have brought my dog here a handful of times for a nail trim and file. When she is returned to me, her nails hardly look any different. I do understand she has long quicks so they can't cut too short, but when the service is also supposed to include a FILE, I do have expectations of the quality of them. They never actually look like they have been filed and always have little pieces from the clipping hanging off a little. The quality of service is not good enough for the $20 that it costs. I have only come back because they have always been available for walk ins which is great, and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that the service will get better. It's always a possibility that one person may not be the best at it. However, I think I will start looking elsewhere for nail trim services because the quality has consistently been disappointing. Store wise, it's your typical Petsmart. I like their selection and will still continue to occasionally stop in here for my pet purchase needs. read more

In a nutshell, PetSmart lost our information on their computer when trying to schedule a grooming for our Poodle. The person on the phone said "No problem, I'll physically put you down for an appointment at 10 am on 10/23. We arrived with our dog and PetSmart had no record of us having an appt at all. Fortunately, they were able to accommodate us and all was well. We returned at the agreed time to pick him up. We were disappointed that they cut the hair on his head down much more than we agreed on & didn't cut the hair inside his ears. The hair cut around the right eye is uneven. In general, the grooming was sloppy work. We paid $48 dollars for this. We will not patronize PetSmart again. Like Holly H., we also adopted our first kitten at Petsmart's Greenwood location. A local shelter coordinates the adoptions out of there, so you can feel good about getting your kitten or puppy there-- they are not coming from some horrible puppy mill! I went to Uncle Bill's down the street before going into Petsmart, and was disgusted by what I found in there -- does anyone really pay $120-200 for a regular domestic kitten? The shelter that has adoptable kittens and puppies at Petsmart isn't like other pet stores that want to make a profit from selling the animals. Our kitten's adoption fees were only $60, and that seems pretty on-par with what her vaccines, other health care and food would have cost. The shelter representative on-site was very helpful and seemed like she genuinely cared about the animals and their well-being. We don't have room for any more animals in our house right now, but if we did, I would definitely go back to Petsmart to adopt one. I went ahead and purchased the wellness plan at Petsmart's on-site animal hospital and have been very pleased with Roxy's care there. As far as the store goes, I have noticed that their prices on dog and cat food are a little higher than other stores, and you must use your Petsmart loyalty shopper card to get sale prices. Still then, the sales prices are in line with what the everyday prices are at other stores. *SIGH* Oh, and if you need a good Halloween costume for your dog this year, Petsmart has a great selection! read more

It's hard for me to see other reviewers so critical of this location. I LOVE this PetSmart! Employees: 5/5 A lot of them are younger employees yeah, but that shouldn't effect someone's opinion of going there. When I first adopted my kittens, I put forth a lot of time in my research on deciding what kind of cat food I wanted my animals to stick with. After doing my research, I went in and asked the nearest employee about certain ingredients, what their top selling brand was, etc.. all that boring important stuff. He knew what he was talking about! All of them do. They're animal lovers just like the customers. So major kudos to you PetSmart Employees. And, they work at a pet store.. all the employees are constantly smiling, whether they've worked at the register for a few months or whether they work by the fish tanks. It makes me feel happy every time I go in. Products and Deals: 4/5 Can some items be a little pricey whether they are on sale or not, yeah a little. But if you think about it, your animals will cost way less that what you will ever spend on yourself in your life time. Unless you're like me and buy a cat toy every visit. Then it might add up. That's beside the point though. :) For me products are always stocked, plenty of toys and other wants or needs are at a decent price. Animals:3/5! They always have so many adult and young cats here. I wish I could take all of them home. Their price is extremely out rageous. I'm not giving the cats a low review, I'm giving the price low starts. I can't believe they can get away with that price. (Go to your local shelters! It's much better for the community) They have fish, birds, chinchillas, and so much more. I'm very weary about considering their animals though, only because of what I've heard from friends about getting PetSmart animals. Maybe it was a fluke, but I advise being cautious. I don't think PetSmart keeps dogs here anymore. This location doesn't, but they normally have special events on the weekends for dog adoptions. In a nutshell, I think this place is very reasonable for the experience I've had. Again, I'm a cat person so that's what my main shopping time is for. They have other services; grooming, pet hospital (which I am a member and it saves me a bunch of time and money getting my pets in), and they have pet training if anyone is ever interested. read more

Went to get the dogs nails ground down, she has black nails. My Gracie is always very well behaved during the grindings. The groomer hit the quick and Gracie yelp and I did too. She hit the quick again and I yelled several times for her to stop. She said, "fine, do it yourself." Then she went in the back area. I was upset and raised my voice. One of the other groomers asked me to lower my voice several times before she apologized. I got Gracie and went to the register and complained and asked for the manager. The clerk looked around and said she didn't see the manager. Several opportunities were missed to provide good customer service and to attempt to make the situation right. I wish I would've read reviews on Petsmart's grooming services before I took my 7 year old cockapoo in. I am so dissatisfied with the service and care Petsmart gave on December 23, 2016. I took my dog to the Petsmart right off US Hwy 31 in Indianapolis, IN to get her normal shave and cut. I have a groomer (Tim at Auntie Leila's in Greenwood) that I regularly take her to but he couldn't get her in until after January 4th and she needed a cut. My appt was at 7:00am and my dog and I showed up at 7:05am. A rude lady, Brooke is her name, said who is this and I said Izzy. She said well just so you know you're 5 minutes late and I have 2 big dogs in the back I need to cut as well. She then asked for her vaccinations record and I told her my vet was supposed to be emailing them to me. And Brooke proceeded to say well I can't wait another 5 minutes because you're already late. I then told Brooke that we can just reschedule Izzy if it would be better for her. She called my vet to get the records and said she will try her best to get Izzy done in a timely manner but that it may take longer than usual grooming. Yes my dog needed a shave and was a mess, but she always is when I take her to her regular groomer. Brooke said Izzy seems kind of timid and anxious and "I'm not sure if she'll bite". I said my dog has never bitten anyone. Then she said she would call me in about 30 minutes to let me know how Izzy is doing. So I left and got a call about 40 minutes later saying Izzy was ready and that she actually did very well and is a very loveable dog. But that when Brooke went to get Izzy out of the kennel to finish her up, Izzy's ears were both bleeding on the tips. She proceeded to tell me that no one cut my dogs ears, but that she had mats so bad on her ears that it cuts off the blood flow and circulation so when the mats get cut off the ears can bleed. She also said that I should take her to my vet right away because if I didn't her ears could not heal properly and could end up looking like cauliflower ears. She also said that her ears were swelling from the bottom up and bruising. I immediately hung up and called my vets office in tears not knowing what I was going to see picking Izzy up. They didn't have an available appt. until 3:30 that day but the receptionist asked the Dr. And he said to bring Izzy in right away. So my husband went with me to pick up Izzy from Petsmart and Brooke again said no one cut your dog's ears. When she walked my dog out, Izzy looked hideous the worst I've ever seen her hair. And she didn't even trim her all the way, she had a little goatee and strangles on her ears. Brooke and another employee that was grooming another dog told me the same BS that Brooke told me on the phone about mats cutting off the blood flow and causing cauliflower ear. I let them talk and I didnt say a word because I'm thinking this has never happened to Izzy and she has mats on her ears every time I take her to get groomed. I left because I said I needed to get Izzy to the vet. My husband stayed to pay the $27 Brooke asked for. Brooke then told my husband once again that she didn't cut our dog's ears, that I was 5 minutes late, and that Izzy was "a hot mess" when I brought her in. My husband told her he was not happy with the way she treated me from the get go and that she obvisouly was rushing with Izzy because her ears are bleeding and that it only took her 40 minutes when it usually takes 3-4 hours. My husband said if you were so busy and it really mattered that my wife was 5 minutes late then you should've just rescheduled. My vet's assistant and my vet said they had never heard such a thing and that they were making it up. My vet did tell me that no she didn't cut my dogs ears (fortunately because if she did it would've been over $500 to sedate Izzy and suture the incisions), but that she went so fast with the trimmers or a rake trimmer and basically pulled the mats right out of my dogs ears basically pulling her hair out of the hair follicles causing them to bleed. The vet put Izzy on a pain medication as she was in severe pain and an antibiotic for the swelling. So now 5 days after the horrible day for Izzy, Izzy can't stop shaking her head and scratching at her ears because they're healing up and I'm sure itch like crazy. I can't even touch the ends of her ears because it's so painful that she yelps:( One ear is still swollen on the end. I never write reviews but I felt this one had to be written. I will never go back to Petsmart for grooming and I just hope that Brooke finds a new job because dog grooming is not her nitch. read more
