Beech Grove pet grooming did a great job with our 4 month old puppy Bocephus. I called the day before the 3rd of July and they were able to get him in same day. My husband dropped him off at 1pm and I picked him up on my way home from work after 3pm. They said he did a great job, except he kept getting excited and peeing all over his feet. They also said he wasnt a fan of the blowers. But otherwise said he was great. I thought he looked great, his nails were nice and trim and his coat looked great. Much better than what my husband and I do when we bathe him. I was quoted at $30-$35 for him being a puppy bloodhound. And was told once he hit up to 100lbs it would probably be more like $50-$60. I plan on taking him probably once a month or so to get cleaned up and what not and dont mind paying thr price for the service I received. Great job Beech Grove Grooming. I forgot to inquire if they groom cats, as we have a cat at home who has never gotten a bath. I will have to inquire and update my review later. read more

my groomer was not easy with my dog for his first time at a groomer, very rough, didnt even ask his name until the end of his grooming. didnt talk to him barely spoke to me. she sprayed him in the face when I told her he does like hoses , felt super rushed there all of 2 minutes for a wash , blow dry , nail clip , deshedding ear cleaning. when I bought it up to the other staff attention she said she's going through personal issue. then go home. won't ever be returning read more

Took my dog here for the first time and the ladies were so nice. The main reason I decided to my dog to a groomers was because he doesn't like baths and he's a big dog so it's a bit difficult for me to give him a bath. So I decided to leave it to the professionals. Our dog gets stinky really fast within a week he's the first dog I've had that we bathe him and within the week he smells. When I picked up my dog he was such a happy boy with the ladies and he smelled so good. They told me he did great and that he was a very sweet dog. They seem surprised that he was so calm when they were cleaning his ears with no problem haha they really like my dog and they even said to bring him back anytime haha I will definitely take my dog back because he seem to really like it there and he didn't look scared at all he was happy. IMPG did not arrive at the correct time. Waited until arrival to tell me it was cash only. While I was at the bank and rushing to get to pay Helen for the grooming, she had already finished and the dogs were inside. After she left and I did see the dogs I was in shock that the dogs hair is still very long it only looked like the animal had been brushed, not cut. I brought my labradoodle here for the first time today. I was very nervous about taking her to a groomer for two reasons: bad results previously and very pricey! I called ahead and described my doodle to them, told them she was very matted as she has extremely fleecy fur and they quoted be a price of $60-$65. I dropped her off this morning at 8 am and we talked through what I was hoping for. They told me that brushing her out would be likely painful for her and her coat would be pretty red and sensitive when I picked her up vs. shaving her down and starting over. We agreed on starting over. I picked her up about 2 1/2 hours later and I LOVE her cut! They were so good and gentle with her, said she did great and even put a cute little bandana on her. The only days I can take him are Saturdays and he always sees Sascha. This is the only groomer he has ever left in a good mood and he does not appear to be drugged. They cut one of the dogs nails so short they were bleeding on my clothes when I picked him up. 12/18 nails look like they were cut too short, they were red.and a couple of nails on the other dog had been cut too short as well. I showed the groomer a picture of past haircuts and they achieved it perfectly. Also our dog doesn't do well with grooming (i.e. He tries to run away). They handled it great and provided us with some tips for home. We paid $40 for a full groom on a small dog. There is a small surcharge if you use credit or debit. I suggest having cash for payment. I've taken our lhasa apso to them for years. He always looks forward to going there so if our dog is happy, we are too. The employees are so nice and all know our boy by name. He likes to go for "joy runs" at the 1st sight of an open door and they're always good about keeping him under control when I hand him over. Never had any problems with them. Prices very reasonable. I give this shop 0 stars! I took my 2 Australian Shepherds to Beech Grove to be groomed. The groomers, Sasha and AJ, completely disregarded the instructions that I gave for their grooming. They had no idea how to groom an Aussie! They ran a 1" clipper comb over both dogs. Their hair was the same length all over! They looked like poodles. There were stray hairs on the underside of one dog and her bobbed tail was all choppy. Their nails were only tipped so I brought both dogs home with long nails. When I picked up the girls they acted like their backs were tender to the touch. Now they BOTH have scabs all along their spine from BRUSH BURN!!! I called the shop to complain and when the owner finally returned my call, he offered a partial refund. The refund did not remedy the bad groom, but at least I didn't have to compensate someone for a BAD groom! Lost a star because they trimmed two nails way too far and caused them to bleed :(. This was my first time taking my dog there. I will probably go back as they are close to me and seemed reasonably priced. Friendly enough and convenient hours. I brought my English Springer Spaniel to this groomer and when I picked up my dog later that day the groomer told me there'd been a "slight accident" and that my dog had gotten "nicked" when she had tried to jump off of the grooming table... I was assured that the wound had been addressed and that "she's fine now." I didn't see any blood or problems and my dog seemed happy and the grooming itself was fine, so I didn't think anything of it. Fast forward three days and my dog is sitting in her crate and she smells awful and is lethargic. So come to find out the bandanna they put around her neck was not just for show... it hid the nasty cut that they put in her neck! And it was that same cut that probably should have been seen by a vet THAT DAY and properly dressed... NEVER EVER will I return! read more

Tuesday AM Benson had an appointment at 8 am for a groom with BG pet groom. I got there about 7:56 and took him in. I caught no names, but the lady I dealt with had no sense of customer service, she couldn't even fake it for 5 mins. She asked me what I wanted done to him and I said a bath, nails, ears, anal glands and his featherings/ears TRIMMED. She even wrote "trimmed" on the receipt. I realized I forgot to bring in his proof of vaccines and so I ran home to get them. They're located at 4th and main while I'm on 8th so it literally took me 2 mins to run home. Well, when I walk back in, I just see Benson sitting in the back and nobody is up front. Benson barked one time because he saw me and the lady says "oh my god ugh son of a bitch" seriously? One bark? Why is my dog just sitting there anyway and not being GROOMED? I was in shock when some other lady came out to grab his vaccine papers I just left. Big mistake. I come home and not only are my dogs ears not trimmed but his ass is shaved. It's even raw on one spot. For 2 nights he was up whining and trying to lick the spot that was raw, miserable and he's had to wear a cone to keep him away from it. So, I was just like "ok obviously I'm never going there again." Well, tommy and I walked benson that night and his poop is diarrhea and BLOODY. now, that week he'd had a lot of mucus in his stool and ironically we had a vet apt for Wed AM. I told my vet that I had a bad feeling about the groomers and all week he didn't poop diarrhea or blood - until the day of/after his groom. They ran the poop and it came back negative for all parasites/diseases. Bloody stool can obviously be caused by trauma. Thursday I talk with the owner of Beech Grove pet groom and tell her all of this (besides the bloody poop bec I didn't want to accuse them of abuse and hadn't gotten the results back yet) and she said she'd "look into it and call me back in a couple of hours." She never did. So I call Friday AM, sent to voicemail and Friday PM, sent to voicemail, left a message telling her I just wanted to touch base with her in regards to Tuesday. Nothing. So, I go in today and she isn't there. Hasn't called me either. I know they have a camera out front, leading me to believe they probably have some inside too for liability. Maybe not. But doesn't it seem like she knows someone did something wrong to my dog and is trying to cover this up? Camera feeds normally last about a week and they open back up on Tuesday AM, when they'd be expired. I would hate to think they would do something to Benson but it is seeming like they did and that they're hoping this issue will resolve itself and it won't. I've had 3 people tell me they have had similar things happen to their dogs and nothing has been done about it. I spent $60 for shitty customer service, my dog to be cussed at and a butchered groom. And God knows what else happened to the point where I'm being ignored by the owner. read more

Took my 10 yr old golden to them in December!! Owner said she was sweet had no issues!! Took her back Tuesday !! NEVER Again!! 6 hours later my poor dog could hardly walk!! Apparently she was placed is cage for hours to dry!!! Her cut looks awful!! My biggest concern was she had a huge laceration on her tail smaller one on her belly. Only take your good little boys or girls to this groomer...They take quantity over quality. Here was my complaint to the owner: First and foremost I want to let you know that Phoebe looked great. So it was not an issue of the service received. It was the customer service and demeanor in which your employee used. This was Phoebe's first real grooming service. We received the package with nail, anal glands, etc. The previous grooming experience she had was just nails, bath, and light trimming. Phoebe is only 6 months old. She has graduated from puppy prep classes from Barkefellers and goes there often for daycare. She has never bitten anyone or any other pet. Upon my arrival at my scheduled time I was was welcomed (if that is what you want to call it) by a woman. Told her Phoebe's name and she asked if I was new. I stated yes, and she asked for shot records. I said nobody ever told me to bring them (which that is my husbands fault). She looked at me like that was a huge inconvenience. I stated I just needed the fax number and I would have our vet fax them right over. I asked before leaving how long it would be and she said 4 hours as she was the only groomer that day. I did not leave your business feeling like my pet would be well taken care of I worried all day. I arrived to your business at 4:15 and was told by another lady that they would need 20 more minutes in order to get Phoebe finished. I said that is fine, I would just come back. I came back and the groomer that was there when dropping Phoebe off came to the little door that separates the grooming area from the reception area popped by with Phoebe in her arms and asked did the other lady check you out? I stated no. She disappeared and then came back to the reception area. First thing she said to me was "your dog needs worked with". I said this is basically her first time grooming. Again she stated "your dog needs worked with". I said how do I do that? She said to get a metal comb and use it on her often. I stated we do have one and use it and a brush thru her hair on a regular basis. I was made to feel like my dog was out of control, which is far from the truth. While I was waiting for Phoebe to come out the second time going in to pick her up I could here the groomers tone with Phoebe. It was not someone who was comforting my pet, she was scolding her. I know that my pet is not the only one who is uneasy getting groomed...especially on their first time. was made to feel like my pet was too much of an inconvenience to her so I stated that I would not bring her back then. Here is the response given by the owner Sondra: Sorry you felt like a inconvenience, your dog did look good when it left. Any place you go and take your dog to and you are new does require shot records unless you are mobile. Jeff did step in here yesterday to help out, he is the one who did the first clip on your dog. Your dog is a bitter when it comes to messing around his head front feet and rear end. We are a very busy salon and try to inform the customer how their dogs are when they are in here, sometimes it does take us past the 4 hours. My response back was: Phoebe is NOT an "it". I am not complaining about the shot records being needed...my complaint was the attitude from your employee. I do not care that it took 4 and a half hours...again my complaint was your employees approach about my dogs behavior while being there. It is obvious by your response that this is "normal" treatment for your customers. We will make sure to include your response to my experience with your salon. We will never come back or refer your services to anyone in the future. If I read between the lines they are too busy to give positive reinforcement to a pet that is in some distress over their current situation. read more
