I was a little skeptical at first about coming to PetSmart to get my toy poodle groomed again based off my own personal experiences I've had and mixed reviews I've heard in the past from various locations. First time, trying out the PetSmart location on Shepherd Dr. and I will say I was highly satisfied. Booking was easy, the availability was flexible, the customer service I received during drop off and during pick up was awesome, the time it took for my baby to receive all her services was efficient, the actual haircut was so cute, and at an affordable price point! Jaidyn did an amazing job with my toy poodle!! I showed Jaidyn two photos previously took of my baby of a haircut style she received in the past prior to the appointment of what I wanted my baby to look like and she did a phenomenal job delivering! Definitely will be coming back. Thank you Jaidyn!!

My pets are pretty smart

If you could buy chest muscles here, it'd be Pecsmart. It's a good store. If you have the card, you can get some good discounts on stuff. And they sometimes email you great coupons for free stuff or 50% off. And if I need something right away, like a flea comb or pill pockets, they always have them in stock. I do find it to be extremely overpriced and that's the only reason why I would only give it a 3-star rating. Plus they have poor little animals in here waiting to be adopted and it costs quite a lot to adopt them. I don't think it really should cost anything to rescue animals. Especially not the premium that the store charges.

Nice store ! Not the cleanest but had large variety of different types of foods for cars & dogs! Never knew it was a store next to old movie theater so something cool! Had a few cats who needed a home and lots of fishies!

Graduation day from puppy training class :)

This Pet Smart location has the sweetest staff! Whenever I bring my dogs in with me they're always so sweet and love to give my pups the attention they crave. They're always asking me if I need help finding things and always informative if I have any questions. Store: Clean and neat, easy to find things I need. Great selection of food and toys but you can honestly buy stuff from here on Amazon for a cheaper price. Parking: Large private lot located right next to Trader Joe's. Grooming: Took my Goldendoodle here for a groom which ended in her being shaved way too short than I preferred. I got over it cause hair grows back and their grooming salon is way more affordable than some other groomers in the city. But I never took her there again. The grooming staff is very friendly though and will call you for pickup as soon as your dog is done being groomed so they aren't stuck in a crate for the rest of the day. Dog training: Took my dog here for puppy training class with Sylvia and we absolutely loved it! We took our puppy here when she was about 4 months old (puppy training class is for pups 10 weeks to 5 months old). Classes run once a week for about 6 weeks and teaches simple commands like sit, stay, down, and leave it. Sylvia was so patient and accommodating with our schedules if we weren't able to make it to class. She's a great dog trainer and she totally reminds me of the dog whisperer. Whenever we run into her in the store my dog instantly sits and stays for her without being told. She truly loves dogs and always remembers our pup by name. She is the best trainer there!!!

My Samoyed (Zeus) after a successful grooming session with Groomer Jaime.

This review is for Groomer Jaime, not petsmart. I just brought my Samoyed in for a bath and brush along with defurminator. I've had trouble with petsmart in the past, but as I'm new in the area from NJ. I decided to go with the petsmart that was 5 minutes away. Took a chance and thank god I got Jaime as a groomer. I normally take my Samoyed to private groomers. No national brands as they normally don't care for your dog. If I could give Jaime 10 stars I would. I will definitely be coming back. If you go to this pet smart to get your dog groomed. Especially a long haired, more complicated dog. Do not hesitate to book with Jaime. 100% successful experience with him, made me believe in petsmart a tad more. Also, might I add great customer service done by him.

I could not praise Dr. Savage and her team more! Working with her protocol and one of her trainers,…read moreMegan, has been an amazing experience. My dog, Charlie, has severe separation anxiety and pica, which complicates things that much more. After 3 month of extremely expensive (and complicated) gradual desensitization training with a well-known CSAT company, he had made almost no progress and I was at a loss. Charlie still couldn't be trusted alone without me doing a time-consuming series of "warmup" steps and, even then, only for about 25 min and not reliably. I hadn't been able to leave the house in 7 months without hiring someone to watch him. But after just 1 very reasonably priced virtual consultation session with Megan, and a few weeks of following her recommendations (which were super straightforward!), he has made continual and consistent progress. Recently, we smashed 2.75 hours of alone time and he just keeps getting better! He's so reliably calm that I don't even need to check the cameras for the first 60 min, afterwards only checking in every 10-15 min. I've been able to stop relying on a babysitter just to live my life. Plus, Megan has been a real support through the process, answering my questions and providing me with the guidance I need to feel confident. Trust me: Anyone who is struggling to help their dog overcome any kind of anxiety or trauma should definitely go to Beyond the Dog. TLDR: Have a severely anxious dog? Skip the CSAT and call Beyond the Dog. You won't regret it. I promise.

If you are a cat owner seeking cat training services, look elsewhere. As you can see, 99.9% of the…read morereviews for this company are from dog owners and now, unfortunately, I know why. They know absolutely nothing about how to train cats. We have been keeping our cats separated because of fighting, so we hired a trainer to come out to our home to help us reintegrate them. Before the trainer came, she asked us to have the cats in their harnesses, even though our cats have had zero harness training and for them to be in separate rooms where they can't hide from her, which was an odd request. She spent absolutely no time trying to bond with our cats and decided that on the very first day, the cats were ready to be in the same room together. What? They haven't been in the same room together in months. They are wearing harnesses, which they do not like wearing, there is a stranger in close proximity, and they have been put in the same room together. What could go wrong. Needless to say, everything went wrong. The cats freaked out. They were so stressed. One was trying desperately to hide, but was trapped by the trainer. To top it off, the trainer texted later and thought the cats seemed relaxed when she left. OMG, seriously. It was a terrible experience for the cats and for us. You don't have to be an animal behavior specialist to know all the things the trainer was doing was wrong. Any pet owner with any common sense would know that. We canceled the rest of the sessions. Lost our $250 deposit and money for the training session. What is more disappointing is the owner of the company, Dr. Savage, never reached out to ask why we canceled the rest of the sessions and never asked about our experience with the trainer. You would think, as the owner, she would want to know what happened.

Dogtopia ended up being in a perfect location in regards to work & home and was having its grand opening shortly after we moved. I'll be in honest, the place we went to in Louisiana was top-notch and my dog was absolutely adored there so I thought there was no way Dogtopia could compare but I'm happy to say they did and my dog loves it! I know he's in good hands when I drop him off. My only suggestion is to do away with, lessen, or make the nap time optional. I don't work the normal 8-5 hours so often times, I'm wanting to drop my dog off at Dogtopia during these times for a half day but decide against it because he'd be in a kennel for the first hour or two.

He entered their facility healthy and spent several days in daycare followed by five nights of boarding. According to Dogtopia, his daily wellness checks were consistently 100% fine, with ZERO signs of illness. Yet suddenly, he was rushed to a veterinarian in CRITICAL condition, suffering from a collapsed lung, infection, and other severe complications that ultimately led to his death. How could a dog supposedly monitored daily deteriorate so severely without any warning signs being noticed? We strongly question whether Dogtopia exercised the proper care, attention, and supervision they were entrusted and paid to provide. What makes this tragedy even more unacceptable is Dogtopia's lack of urgency, transparency, and accountability. Their initial call failed to communicate how serious his condition was. It wasn't until the veterinarian contacted us that we understood he was fighting for his life. Earlier and clearer communication could have given us an opportunity to make critical treatment decisions sooner. Instead of helping us understand what happened, the owner immediately suggested he was already sick before boarding, contradicting their own reports of perfect wellness checks. When we requested written records and video footage, the owner outright refused to provide them. To us, this reflects a disturbing lack of compassion, responsibility, and transparency toward a family whose dog died while entrusted to their care. The most heartbreaking reality is that our baby boy is DEAD, and NOTHING we do will ever bring our baby boy back. No apology, explanation, or action can undo this devastating loss. When the owner stated that deaths at Dogtopia are rare, my response was simple: BUT IT HAPPENED TO OUR BABY BOY! Even one death deserves serious investigation and accountability. We trusted Dogtopia with a member of our family, and that trust has been completely shattered. From one dog parent to another, please think twice before entrusting your beloved pet to Dogtopia. Our baby boy deserved better, and no family should have to experience this heartbreak.

We are visiting Houston from North Texas aka the Dallas Area. I wish we had such a loving Fur Baby Spa. I called this morning never thinking I would manage an appointment for grooming. I was Wrong. The Female Groomer Squeezed my Fur'Baby in. I was very worried because Jojo had such a bad experience at PetSmart I didn't know what to expect when I lived her up. She was Soooooo happy and not Stressed. Her Cut was perfection. If there was one thing that needed to be Changed. It would be the Kenneling. I know it's not cost efficient to build little rooms with Sofas. For Rescued dogs Kennels can trigger fear. That was the only thing I didn't like. Thank You for knowing So kind. I'm considering making the 5 hour drive monthly. Just not a fan of Kennels!

I wanted to find somewhere close and had same day availability since our usual groomer was booked…read moreup so I called them. Well, that was a GRAVE mistake and I see why they were so happy to get me in asap. First of all, the girl that answered the phone gave me some pricing "based on weight" which I totally understand. I then ask her about the discounts they showed online and she started stuttering as if she didn't really want to give it to me. Her response was "oh um yes, if you were a first time customer then i guess we would give you 10%". You knew I clearly was but moving along. I told them I wanted teddy bear cuts for my 2 mini poodles. She said they might have some matting charges and I said that's fine. I took them up there, the groomer barely examined them or talked to me before proceeding to take my dogs in the back to get started. 5 hours later, I pick them up and my dogs look NOTHING like what I asked for. I wanted to maintain length but they chopped off half on both of their bodies. I wanted a rounded teddy bear face and they SHAVED their faces. I have NEVER went to a groomer where they did something without calling me. If you're not able to do what I asked then I should have been at least notified by phone. NOT when I'm picking them up and the damage is done. On top of that, the ENTIRE cut on BOTH dogs were choppy! Not to mention they charged me $250 WITH the 10% discount. The girl also tried to charge me extra for trimming of the paws and ears. I asked isn't that included in the full groom? She said "oh yeah, let me take that off". THE WORST part?! I asked why the extra $80? She said it was because they had to detangle for an extra 15 minutes. Yes. 15 minutes. I will post the receipt. Lastly, for this price you would think that they would put a bandana or a bow on them. NOPE. They will never touch my dogs again. They do not care about the dogs and you can tell they are here just for the money. I'm sorry but I'm leaving my babies with you, I have to trust that you actually care. I will be posting pics of them AFTER a groom at Happy Snoutz on Sept 16, 2025 and also pictures from today. PLEASE do not waste your money or think because it's in River Oaks that they are quality. They are definitely NOT
