    King's grooming done by Willie

I can't express how much our dog loves it here! He is always excited to come, which was a first for us, they have really made him feel comfortable. Both Paige and Willie have always done an amazing job with our maltipoo King. Thank you!!

We absolutely love Jackson's. Willie and Paige both do a fantastic job grooming our poodle and cavachon. Our dogs love spending the time playing with their friends at daycare! It is awesome for us to know we have a safe place to send our pups when we have to be away or work. The outdoor area really adds to the perks because our pups never get to be outside off leash at home. It is so fun watching them run around outside with friends through the best camera. I hate being away from my dogs so being able to watch them on the on the best camera is huge! Highly recommend Jackson's!

From the first stay, I could tell they actually understand dogs, not just watch them. He came back relaxed, clean, and acting like himself, which says everything. The communication was solid, and I didn't have to chase anyone for updates. Place is clean, staff is friendly, and more importantly, they know what they're doing. I trust them with my dog, and that's not something I say lightly.

I've been bringing my dogs here for years first my late dog, and now my current miniature schnauzer. If you look back at my previous review photos, you'll see the PERFECT schnauzer cut they used to do. Consistent. Professional. Distinguished little gentleman energy. Recently though, scheduling became nearly impossible. Every conversation sounded like: "Let me confirm if our groomer is actually working that day..." After weeks of trying to coordinate schedules, my schnauzer's hair got longer than ever. He loves wearing shirts, so yes, he had some matting. I paid extra for de-matting and gave very clear instructions: shave the skirt, but keep a full beard along with his chest and paws fluffy. Y'all... when I picked him up, I genuinely did not recognize my own dog. He walked in looking like a miniature schnauzer and walked out looking like a scrappy chihuahua named Peanut. They shaved EVERYTHING. His entire body, his face, even his whiskers. HIS WHISKERS. WTF. I know hair grows back and thankfully it's summer, but I honestly felt bad for him. As someone with longer hair myself, if somebody sat me down and buzzed me to the skin without warning, I'd probably need emotional support and a hoodie for a month. My dog still seems happy and unbothered, but I'm traumatized enough for both of us. After years of loyalty, this was incredibly disappointing and totally unacceptable. We will never come back..

However, when I reviewed the evidence they provided, the email shown was addressed internally between their own staff rather than to my email address. Based on the documentation they submitted, I never actually received the USDA health certificate they claimed had been sent to me. Because of that evidence, my bank initially denied my dispute. I had to call my bank and explain that the email they submitted was not sent to me at all. It appears to show an internal email between employees, not an email delivered to the customer. In addition to that, communication throughout the process was poor, fees were not clearly explained upfront, and I did not receive the documents I needed before my travel date. The entire experience caused unnecessary stress and forced me to make last-minute arrangements for my service dog. I expected transparency, timely communication, and accurate documentation. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

My dogs are accustomed to being around, just our family and don't always be friend new people readily. They immediately took to the owner, Brian. Our dogs are on a diet where they have a mixture of dry and wet food that require refrigeration or freezing. That was no problem at all for the owner to accommodate. The fellas looked well cared for when my son picked them up! My son forgot to check for the dogs blankets when he picked them up and Brian kindly drove them down to the city where we live so that the dogs would have them. I will definitely use Hicks Farm again and I highly recommend them!

Before she went, I'd worked with her on sit, down, take it, leave it, and some spins with decent success. Brian took what she had and built on it, adding heel, come when called, turn, and stay. He returned a noticeably different dog. When we hit some bumps shortly after, he came back out and spent a solid hour with me going over what was actually happening...not just commands and corrections, but why she was behaving the way she was and what she needed from me to feel secure. (Spoiler: she needed me to be more confident and consistent.) He has a way of cutting straight to what matters without overcomplicating it, and more than once he said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. What struck me most across both experiences was how much genuine wisdom he brings to his work. He's clearly someone who has learned his craft through deep experience and observation, and it shows in every interaction with the dog and with the owner. On top of all of that, his pricing was incredibly reasonable; boarding and training combined for what many trainers charge for training alone. We felt genuinely taken care of. Kind, patient, perceptive, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

Our vet also approves as playtime is all indoor, and away from the Houston heat and downpours meaning no mosquitoes, flees, or other bothersome pests that like to multiply in our humid city. If you're a PAW parent seeking daycare, boarding options and spa treatments, do yourself a favor and check out Hounds Town Midtown.
