I have brought my labrador here for a collective month over 2023. Even over the holidays when he was put here in a kennel for a while, he was still excited to go back inside each time! The front desk is timely and friendly over the phone, in person, and via email. I was able to relax over my vacations, traveling, and family emergencies knowing that my pup was having fun running around the doggie daycare room. It's about $35/night for boarding, and $17 for all-day doggie daycare play. Other facilities charged me way more for significantly less exercise and play time, and my dog never seemed excited to go back. Pets Play Palace is consistent and I trust them completely to take care of my fur baby! They also offer grooming services, which is so convenient to add on after a long stay when my dog is stinky! read more

The worst feeling in the world is walking away from your pet when you drop them off to be boarded. The pets play place make it a lot easer to go on vacation and not worry about my little guy. My dog is difficult he has separation Anxiety. They all seem to love him there and give him a lot attention. They have the most convenient drop off and pick up times. This saves a lot of money because I don't have to leave him there an extra day. They also don't charge you per walk or extra play time or anything that other places charge. I just left Pets Play Palace. I used a Groupon with a great discounted price to just try this place out and see if it could possibly be my yorkie Luna's "place" . I have had a great experience ! The Groupon was for a spa bath and I added a face trim (the Groupon does not include cut/trim ) . Virginia did a great job with her face trim and returned her to me in great condition , happy and calm . Nails cut and squeaky clean. I dropped her off at around 8 and picked her up at 11. Update to review: Still giving this business 1 star because 2 days after the business left a message on my review, I received a msg (from a different account?!?!) completely reneging on the initial comment. This is the second msg I received: I read your review and honestly it should have never been done. How are you going to write a bad review on us when all we did was call the vet that you gave your mom to call? We called that vet, then they said to call another vet, and that vet said to call another vet. Honestly, we were doing you a favor for not coming prepared with what was told to bring in over the phone. We didn't just have a hr to waste calling all your vets while phone calls and customers where coming in. This response is rude, unnecessary and unacceptable. I did not waste your time- it is your business and the service you provide and in no way is it my fault that your employees do not know how to read simple invoices. After this msg was received, I asked the sender to call me whether he would like to refuse service or rectify the situation and he left a voicemail. I returned the call and left a msg but did not hear back. This was 5 days ago. This morning I called Groupon to process a refund for both of my vouchers and a complaint. For the business: do not contact me, either on here or by phone. That is no longer an option. If you do, you will be reported. Update on 10/10/2017: The business is now continuing to rudely respond to my review, despite being asked to not contact me. This is an update to my previous review about this company: After my complaint I posted, I was reached out to directly by the owner who apologized and insisted on correcting the situation. I was told later on by the owner that after multiple complaints about this particular groomer from not only me but others, they were let go. He then offered to have his wife (who normally does the grooming there, hence all the positive reviews prior) do a complimentary grooming. I took Birdie in last Friday and she did a FABULOUS job. She wasn't all botched up and her rear-end didn't get shaved down like last time, and I even noticed her spirits were much more like herself when picking her up; not like last time when I got her and she wasn't herself for days. All in all, I greatly respect and appreciate the owners going out of their way to do that, it shows integrity for the type of business they run and I would definitely recommend seeing the owner's wife for your dog's next grooming as she definitely knows what she's doing. read more

I have been taking my two teacup Pomeranians, Boston (6 years old/4 lbs.) & Bella (2 years old/5lbs.), to The Pet's Play Palace for approx. one year because they did a great job grooming and the business is located close to my home. They have done me the favor of letting me bring in Boston first to be groomed then I would drop off my other dog Bella when picking up Boston a couple hours later.  Reason being, there is a small window in the sitting area with a curtain that looks into the room where they keep dogs and in the past, while waiting to pick up my dog, I noticed how the cages were extremely dirty with hair flying around, and there were several other larger crated dogs barking constantly. I rather have my dogs in and out, through an express service, without being kenneled in what looked like filthy cages.  I called on Wednesday, October 23, and scheduled a grooming appointment for the following day, Thursday October 24 at 8:30am. I got to the groomer Thursday at 8:30am and another gentleman said he did not have an appointment scheduled for my dogs in their system. He also mentioned the groomer was running a little late. Reluctantly, I left Boston there to be groomed. Three hours later I called The Pet's Play Palace to see if Boston is ready so I can pick him up and drop off my other dog to be groomed. He said the groomer just got in and they will call me when my dog is ready for pickup. At this point they are not doing anyone any favors because they left him crated for hours which I specifically have always tried to avoid.  After I picked up my second dog Bella, I did not notice her hair cut until I got home because when the gentleman at the groomer handed her to me she was in her bed, which covers most of her body and I figured she was done perfectly like she has always been in the past. When I got home I noticed her hair at the top was still long and not cut at the usual length. My girlfriend agreed, and planned on calling the groomer for me the following day since I am in the car business and work long hours and my girlfriend did not get a chance to call the groomer over the weekend with an unexpected illness. Saturday evening, I noticed my dog Boston was acting strange. He was shaking, felt like he had a fever, would not eat, and just not acting himself. Sure enough, after rushing him to the vet, he was diagnosed with gastroenteritis and left with a hefty bill due to which I 100% truly believe, came from the groomer. My dogs are well kept and do not get into trash nor eat away from their usual dry food.    The staff is super defensive and the owner lacks any sort of empathy otherwise she wouldn't have been so rude to my girlfriend when she called and politely asked if they could fix my dog's fur but instead insisted we no longer do business with them. They have always done a great job and the one time they did not cut my long hair Pom right, the request turned into the owner becoming passive aggressive and frustrated. They really need to work on their customer service skills and fix the face of the bad business practices they have set in place. While it's easy to note negatives in a review, these people really deserve ZERO stars on all accounts. Don't waste your time and money on these people. I'll wait for the dismissive comments I'm sure to receive from the owner and hear how she will choose to justify losing business based on ONE bad fur cut. read more

We have been using Pet's Play Palace for about 3 years. When I was working I would take our dog once a week for daycare. The owners are very nice and they love our dog just as if she was their own. We used to live a lot closer but moved to the burbs this past year. Well, we still board our dog here because she is a pitbull and is allowed to play with the other dogs and not just be boarded the whole time. It's a bit of a drive for us but we really believe that Capri enjoys her time there. Highly recommend PPP. read more

I can't say enough about how impeccable this place is for my Biggie and Missy. First of all, this is a family owned business and the owners Anthony and Virginia are the sweetest and most loving people I could ever ask for to care for my babies. Secondly, what sets this place apart from other doggy daycare and grooming salons are Anthony and Virginia's treatment of all the animals that walk through the door. This was the first place I took my Biggie when he was finally old enough for his first groom. Virginia did such a wonderful job on him that I started to take him there for daycare and groom/bath every single week. They clearly love him as if he was their own puppy because they knew all his little quirks and tendencies just as well as I did. They are so accommodating of his behavior that they even worked around his stress cues so that his grooming session could go as smooth as possible for him. They were even the ones who caught his ear infection and told me about it! When I rescued my Missy after a few months, she was anxious and aggressive towards other animals. I still took her to Pet's Play Palace so she could be groomed and subsequently took her there weekly so that she could be socialized in a safe environment. Anthony and Virginia were so accommodating especially when Missy had her first heat only 3 days after I adopted her! They took her in without question when I told them I hadn't been able to sleep through the dogs' howls. Anthony and Virginia were so understanding and patient with her that I believe they were instrumental in her now being one of the sweetest dogs I have ever encountered. They have been my go-to place for my babies for 3 years and it was very sad to say goodbye when I moved to Los Angeles early this year. Although I have relocated, I still took my babies there when I visit my family back in Houston and plan on doing so anytime I'm in town. There is no better validation in how wonderful this place is than when I see babies still get excited as soon as I pull up to their driveway. I definitely recommend The Pet's Play Palace to anyone who loves their pet just as much as I love mine. read more

I go here pretty regularly and every time it's a great experience. I typically board and do doggy daycare for a few days to a week. During the day the dogs get to play with other dogs and at night I know that they're well cared for. When I pick them up, I have them bathed and nail clipped. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. You can tell they really care about their customers (2 and 4 legged). Prices are really reasonable as well. I love this place. Actually I'm a little afraid that this place will become too popular and they'll have to turn away customers or raise prices. They deserve the business though, so I hope they can keep up. read more

Some groomers don't get him fluffy when they blow him dry and I was so excited to see how fluffy they got him! This place is wonderful! I adopted a dog about 4-months ago and have been looking around for a place to drop him off if ever need be. I needed a doggy daycare service fast and this place had no problems accommodating me. I dropped my pup pretty early off in the morning for doggy daycare and they told me they would have to do a brief one-time only temperament test ($15) to make sure he would be okay with the rest of the pack. Because I was in a rush, I didn't have time to stay there to see if he would pass and they told me not to worry about it and that they would take care of everything. I called them a little later to see how my pup was doing and they said he was playing really well and doing great. They didn't seem to mind me checking in on him every now and then because I'm sure my phone calls could get annoying. When I picked him up, he seemed pretty happy and content. As soon as we got home, he spent the rest of the day napping which is always a good sign for any dog owner! Horrible. Multiple times I brought my boy here and multiple problems I've had with this lady's business. First time was ok. I got charged a little extra because my puppy was being difficult Second time I was charged a 90% increase from the initial price for a cut that wasn't even specifically what I asked for because my dog was no longer a puppy. Plus the extra fee for once again having a "difficult dog." I accepted the fact that these cuts may be expensive but it still left me with a bad feeling. The absolute last time I'll ever go to Pets Play Palace was a pretty bad experience. My dog has now been classified in an "exotic breed" category, which of course raised the price even more, plus the fee for choosing not to cut his hair short, and of course the bad dog fee. Then my dog had a poodle-style cut with his paws shaved down, but the rest of his hair at mid length. It didn't blend nor grow well. And its obvious that he's not even a full blooded poodle. When I saw my dog I immediately called the store and asked for the manager on duty, who was also the groomer, who was also the owner. I can say that she is very polite, but had many premeditated excuses as a rebuttal for anything I had to say. Its not a good experience when the owner of a business is trying to shut you up about concerns you have with the service that she's providing with her own hands. She had something to say for everything I had to say. And nothing personal but I'm welcoming the response that she probably has to this review. read more

My experience with The Pet's Play Place was very positive. My schnauzer tends to get very nervous when being groomed, even when I am the one doing the grooming and sometimes gets a little nippy. Here they kept me constantly updated, letting me know that they were going to take a little more time to ease her nerves. The couple that owns this location are very hands-on, doing the grooming, greeting, and making phone calls. They are obviously pet lovers because they know how to handle those hard to handle babies. They are very quick, typically taking under two hours to finish the job. Much, much quicker than your typical chain groomers. I will continue to visit this location and would quickly recommend The Pet Play Place to anyone who is looking for a groomer. read more

The 5 star is for my husky's cut. I have a long-haired 2 year old husky. I have never gotten a cut for him before, and I refuse to shave him due to the controversy about how it may harm them more than help them. Also, his coat is very beautiful. Additionally, my husky hardly goes to grooming except for a biannual nail trimming and anal gland cleaning, so he was pretty anxious. The last time I took him to Petsmart, they had to put a muzzle on him, so that the groomer could trim his nails. I couldn't have been any more pleased with the way the dog groomer cut his hair. My husky has never looked so clean and well groomed. His shedding did diminish greatly, and they had no problem managing or working to keep my husky calm. They didn't have to muzzle him. They just said they spent more time helping him relax. With the groupon (expired), cost came out to be about $65-75. It was fairly expensive, but I have been asking around and this is the average price stated for his breed. I will definitely be bringing him back for future grooming. read more

We have taken our dog for boarding and grooming in this facility several times. I have only myself to blame for not paying attention to telltale signs before and that i had to have a terrible experience today to finally stop using their services and read for the first time previous reviews. Today, when i picked up my dog after a spa package, i had an encounter with the owner that i probably should have reported to police. I purchased a groupon (for a second time) and i was told i cannot redeem it twice. Which is completely fine, but the owner also refused to discount the monetary amount paid to groupon from full price (which groupon guarantees will never expire). As he charged my card, the owner went on ranting about what a bad dog i have, that she was so difficult to groom and they should charge me a lot more. So I said he could have mentioned both the fact that groupon cannot be used in her case (as i called twice in advance asking to make the groupon appointment and both times they said it was good) and that my dog is bad so they would like to charge more. Both would have been absolutely fine. Instead he was ranting about both things after the fact, so it did not help anyone but he just got to insult me over and over about my dog. As soon as i told him the above (why tell me after the fact), he got out of his seat and walked so close to me (literally got on my face) I had to throw myself back and i had to tell him to stay away. He continued to walk onto me where if i had not walked back he would be literally bumping into me. So as i walked toward the door, I said i would review his business and this is not acceptable. He told me he took videos of my dog and he will publish them all over the Internet if i write a review anywhere. He chased me all the way out of the business and he continued the above threats. We have spent thousands of dollars boarding our dog here before but I never had any meaningful conversation to observe their character and work ethic. I am in shock and I would never bring my dog back or interact with this place ever again. I also read prior reviews and the owner's replies to those reviews. To my shock, each reply blames the reviewer, and in one instance, owner says that they are "a dog facility so it will tend to smell like ... urine and feces" inside the place. I hope my review helps someone make the right choice when boarding and grooming their pet. In choosing where to bring our business, we should reward kind, professional business owners and not the bullies who threaten their customers by hurting their dogs and publishing videos they took without permission on Internet. read more

I have been bringing my dog to this place for years without ever really experiencing any problems; however, I have noticed the level of service decline over the years as they've hired additional staff. This past weekend I left my dog here in boarding, and when I picked him up he was very ill (severely bloody stool that continued constantly overnight). He unfortunately passed away early the following morning. I notified them to be aware of similar symptoms in other dogs at the facility so that no one else would have to experience the same awful situation, as my dog was only 7 yrs old and healthy when I dropped him off. One of the owners replied saying she was sorry, but that my dog was perfectly healthy the entire time he was there (obviously can't be true), and then she rudely said that she had been googling his symptoms and suggested a medical condition that would involve him not getting sick at their facility. She then asked for the name of my vet so that she could confirm her diagnosis vs. the one I received from the vet directly after thousands of dollars in medical testing at a critical care animal hospital. I have no tolerance for businesses that don't put their customers first, and I would highly discourage anyone from using this place. I get the feeling that if I had another dog, they would have offered a free grooming or something equally ridiculous, if that. read more

Okay, I was going to just let this go because I figured it was a random unfortunate event, but my dog was cut too. After seeing this happen to other dogs, I'm reminded to make this review. I get that accidents happen, but NO ONE said anything to my boyfriend when he picked my dog up, nor did they tell me she was cut when I had called them that day to say he was going to be picking our dog up. They had two chances and no one fessed up. I called them and the manager had me text him pictures of Lola's cut. In response to the photos, he said "that is a minor scratch".....maybe to YOU, to ME it's a CUT on my FUR BABY. They refunded me for the cut but not the bath, which was an act of goodwill but I will never go back here. Cuts happen, but you TELL the owners. Especially if you had multiple chances!!! read more

This place is awesome, I brought my 1 year old german shepherd here after dealing with the horrors of Petco, and I love it, I no doubt will bring my dog back here. I warned them from the get go that she can be a little antsy around water, and might even go off the deep end, but they took the challenge, and when I went to pick her up, they said she was awesome and she actually looked like she was ok!! This sweet couple owns the place and they greet you from the minute you walk in, and are so friendly and love talking about dogs, they had nothing but nice things to say about my princess!! And I have nothing but nice things to say about their services, even if 2 days later my dog took a mud bath, we hosed her down and she still smelled as good!! We took our dog here several times. They loved seeing him and remembered him by name every time. I wasn't a big fan that it seemed to get more expensive every time we came, but it was still cheaper than most. Also, they rarely cut his hair like we asked, but again, it was cheap and hair grows back. But, the last time we went he seemed to be shaking when we picked him up and later that night found a gash on his neck where the trimmer had cut him pretty badly. DO NOT take your dog here for grooming!!! Just this week I brought my dog in for a grooming appointment. It looks fine and nice enough and the front desk staff are friendly knowledgeable, and willing to answer questions. My complaint come from the uneven cut (her head looks, like, bad), they did not clip her nails despite us double checking that they would (her dew claw is freaking ROUND, she can't walk on that are you kidding me) Oh and the MULTIPLE SCABS ALL OVER HER SCALP where she was clearly nicked with scissors/razor repeatedly. There are more on her back. She also still has mats in her tail and they gave her bows, which caused new mats to form on both her ears. Please, if you love your dog, take them somewhere else. read more

I have used this grooming service 4 times now. The first 2 were great and both of my dogs looked great, but it seems they have gotten lazy or hurried the past 2 times. 3 months ago we had our Shih-Tzu's groomed and one of them came back with 7 cuts/nicks from the clippers on her. I can understand or maybe 2 but there is no reason there should be 7. This is pure negligence and when we informed them they gave a meager apology and said "we're sorry but it does happen from time to time." A few of her nicks ended up getting infected and costing us over $400 in vet bills but we decided to give them another chance as this was the first time this has happened. We had them groomed again last weekend and we were assured they would do their best not to cut her again. Needless to say when we picked her up she had 3 more cuts on her. 2 on her belly and one right at the base of her leg which is looking like it is getting infected. We will never be bringing our dogs back to this place. I expect my groomer to handle our dogs with as much love and care as I would. read more

I found this place through groupon and I am glad I did. My Bella loves coming here usually she goes to doggy day care and boarding when needed. I can honestly say that she greets the owner with as much enthusiasm as she greets me. She's not that friendly with everyone. Before I even took Bella there I went to check the place out! I can't leave my baby just anywhere. I dropped in with no notice and the other owner was there. She stopped offered me a tour right away and I was impressed that it so clean, the dogs seemed happy and IT WAS VERY CLEAN. That impressed me because it's not like she knew someone was coming to take a tour. Since then we've boarded her, had her groomed here and of course doggy day care.The owners are great and put up with my crazy calling to check up on her. I'm happy and Bella comes back safe and sound and happy, which is what matters the most. read more
