I was a little skeptical at first about coming to PetSmart to get my toy poodle groomed again based off my own personal experiences I've had and mixed reviews I've heard in the past from various locations. First time, trying out the PetSmart location on Shepherd Dr. and I will say I was highly satisfied. Booking was easy, the availability was flexible, the customer service I received during drop off and during pick up was awesome, the time it took for my baby to receive all her services was efficient, the actual haircut was so cute, and at an affordable price point! Jaidyn did an amazing job with my toy poodle!! I showed Jaidyn two photos previously took of my baby of a haircut style she received in the past prior to the appointment of what I wanted my baby to look like and she did a phenomenal job delivering! Definitely will be coming back. Thank you Jaidyn!!

If you could buy chest muscles here, it'd be Pecsmart. It's a good store. If you have the card, you can get some good discounts on stuff. And they sometimes email you great coupons for free stuff or 50% off. And if I need something right away, like a flea comb or pill pockets, they always have them in stock. I do find it to be extremely overpriced and that's the only reason why I would only give it a 3-star rating. Plus they have poor little animals in here waiting to be adopted and it costs quite a lot to adopt them. I don't think it really should cost anything to rescue animals. Especially not the premium that the store charges.

Nice store ! Not the cleanest but had large variety of different types of foods for cars & dogs! Never knew it was a store next to old movie theater so something cool! Had a few cats who needed a home and lots of fishies!

My Samoyed (Zeus) after a successful grooming session with Groomer Jaime.

This review is for Groomer Jaime, not petsmart. I just brought my Samoyed in for a bath and brush along with defurminator. I've had trouble with petsmart in the past, but as I'm new in the area from NJ. I decided to go with the petsmart that was 5 minutes away. Took a chance and thank god I got Jaime as a groomer. I normally take my Samoyed to private groomers. No national brands as they normally don't care for your dog. If I could give Jaime 10 stars I would. I will definitely be coming back. If you go to this pet smart to get your dog groomed. Especially a long haired, more complicated dog. Do not hesitate to book with Jaime. 100% successful experience with him, made me believe in petsmart a tad more. Also, might I add great customer service done by him.

Graduation day from puppy training class :)

This Pet Smart location has the sweetest staff! Whenever I bring my dogs in with me they're always so sweet and love to give my pups the attention they crave. They're always asking me if I need help finding things and always informative if I have any questions. Store: Clean and neat, easy to find things I need. Great selection of food and toys but you can honestly buy stuff from here on Amazon for a cheaper price. Parking: Large private lot located right next to Trader Joe's. Grooming: Took my Goldendoodle here for a groom which ended in her being shaved way too short than I preferred. I got over it cause hair grows back and their grooming salon is way more affordable than some other groomers in the city. But I never took her there again. The grooming staff is very friendly though and will call you for pickup as soon as your dog is done being groomed so they aren't stuck in a crate for the rest of the day. Dog training: Took my dog here for puppy training class with Sylvia and we absolutely loved it! We took our puppy here when she was about 4 months old (puppy training class is for pups 10 weeks to 5 months old). Classes run once a week for about 6 weeks and teaches simple commands like sit, stay, down, and leave it. Sylvia was so patient and accommodating with our schedules if we weren't able to make it to class. She's a great dog trainer and she totally reminds me of the dog whisperer. Whenever we run into her in the store my dog instantly sits and stays for her without being told. She truly loves dogs and always remembers our pup by name. She is the best trainer there!!!

Judge for yourself if the injuries are scratches or bite marks and if a dog is physically able to scratch itself on the inside of its ear. They are very clearly puncture wounds to us and our vet. --------------------------------------- Dropped off our blind dog 11.24.2025 at roughly 3pm. The morning of 11.28.2025 we received a message that his ear had been bleeding and they believed it was from scratching so they provided him with the expected medical care. Afternoon of 11.29.2025 they told us he was "shaking". My wife was able to pick him up early and take him to the emergency vet (Saturday evening and regular vet closed) who shaved and treated the area and gave him antibiotics. We did follow-up with our regular vet and they determined that the injuries were puncture wounds from a dog attack. When we told them Fur Paws said the injuries were from him scratching himself they looked at us like we had just told them 1 + 1 = 3. In spite of the records we provided from the vet showing his treatment history and their diagnosis of "dog bite wounds and vestibular disease" Fur Paws claims he arrived there with some condition that led to him scratching himself (on the inside of his ear too!). He arrived 11.24, they noticed wounds 11.28, and by the afternoon of 11.29 he was shaking so he had a fever. It takes 24-72 hours for infection and then a fever to occur so one can do the math on their claim that he arrived with an ailment already. Then you add in that these are clearly not scratch marks and you see that they're questioning our intelligence with their explanation. Send your dog here at your own risk.

At the time, Pop Tart and I had known each other for only about a month. I was still potty training her, I knew very little about her previous training and I had no idea how she would behave around other dogs. She was sweet, but I live in Downtown Houston, and downtown life frightened her. That random recommendation from a stranger was a blessing! Today, all I have to say is, "Do you want to go to school?" Pop Tart immediately knows what I mean. We drive there with her window down, she recognizes the route and she can barely wait to get out of the car. Once inside, she makes a point of greeting every single member of the front office staff before she is escorted back to play. The shy dog I adopted has become confident, social and playful... a little bit bossy! Pop Tart plays well with big dogs, small dogs and takes every opportunity to zoom. For those of us who live in downtown apartments, having a safe, consistent place with both indoor and outdoor play areas is invaluable. I love that the wood fence protects the dogs from being watched or triggered by the street. BLDH has also become an important part of our community. I have met other pet parents through the business and some of our dogs now have play dates outside of school. Her 'classmates' even came to Pop Tart's birthday party! ***My entire family follows BLDH on social media because everyone feels invested in Pop Tart's days there. And they're obsessed with the content.*** The quality of care is deeply personal. Everyone knows Pop Tart. They send photos, communicate quickly and call whenever something is off, whether she has an upset stomach or has rolled herself in chalk!!! Kerry is easy to reach by email and is often available to talk in person. The daycare team is first class. We have also used training, grooming and boarding. Angel is an excellent trainer who provides detailed updates, thoughtful advice and homework that has helped both Pop Tart and me. Pop Tart now walks beautifully on a leash, can sit, lie down and stay, and I know how to redirect her when necessary. Cris has somehow managed to get her to enjoy bath time. When work emergencies have happened, BLDH has even accommodated last-minute boarding requests. That has been HUGE for me! I love that the business is locally owned, cage-free and genuinely designed around the comfort of the little dogs. Boarding dogs sleep on beds, not in cages. The online booking system is easy, the events calendar helps me plan my schedule and their social media updates about activities and last-minute grooming availability are useful. They also offer thoughtful extras, including CPR classes and lower weekend daycare rates. I do not trust anyone else to watch Pop Tart when I am away. BLDH gives her fun, exercise, structure, affection and a place where she feels completely at home. They give both of us individual attention and I truly believe they care about our lives, not simply our business. These are dog lovers who get paid to love our dogs. That is what makes this place so special.

Upon picking him up, it was discovered that the hair in his head was indeed cut. After contacting Eddie to inform him of the matter, he then conveyed to me that José, the technician, stated that he "felt disrespected" and that services to our dog would be discontinued. Eddie went on to say that because of the dog's disposition- there are no other techs who desired to "put up with him" and "José was the only tech who would groom him." The irony is: If in fact the dog were so unmanageable, amazingly, Eddie would call my friend to see when would she be bringing him in. If the dog were that bad, his services should have been refused 2 years ago. The final analysis- Eddie told me that he would refund me the money from the last service and that due to the dog's disgruntled disposition- there was a TLC fee, which we have never seen, prior to that day. As a patron, it was NEVER about the money. It was about José failing to follow instructions and when the issue was addressed, the company assumed a stance of victimization, which resulted in poor customer service.
