This is my second Shih Tzu I've taken here. I used them once before in 2022 for a Shih Tzu puppy. They were gentle and attentive with him, so when I recently adopted a rescue they were my first choice. My experience at the Wirt Location has always been great, though I can't speak for the other locations. I was nervous as this was his first haircut, and him being a rescue, he had a pretty rough first 11 months of his life. You could say I'm a little overprotective of him. The team did an outstanding job. They perfectly executed the haircut I requested and were so sweet to him as soon as I walked in the door. They made Pancho Jr. feel comfortable and loved right away. I took my Pomski, Checo, to The Pet Barber in April, hoping for a simple trim, but my experience was a nightmare. I dropped him off with Carly around 9 a.m. and didn't pick him up until they were about to close. I had to keep calling for updates, as they gave no time estimate and didn't reach out all day. When I finally got Checo back, he was completely shaved down. At first, I just thought they cut his hair way too short, but after a couple of months, our vet informed us that the shaving had permanently damaged his double coat, leading to alopecia. When I called the groomer to explain the situation, I was given the run-around, transferred to random staff members when asked for management and eventually got a call back from a manager who dismissively asked, "Why are you just now complaining?" The response was shockingly unprofessional, and they downplayed everything. When I finally spoke with the owner, he was unbelievably arrogant. Instead of apologizing or offering a refund, he said that "this will happen at any groomer" and bragged about his business success and how they are top rated and how he makes so much money for investors. He didn't care about the permanent damage done to my dog's coat; he just offered a couple of bi-weekly baths, which felt like a slap in the face. He even admitted that Carly was just hired from the Woodlands to help with overflow and hadn't been properly vetted. The Pet Barber's negligence and complete lack of accountability caused irreversible damage to my dog's coat. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. If you care about your pet's well-being, stay far away from The Pet Barber. Edit after owners response* It's very rich of the "owner" to resort to lying to hide their mistakes. My dog was not neglected and was never severely matted as you are lying and downplaying the situation again. I NEVER agreed to shaving him, why are you lying? I had been taking my dog to the Pet Barber for about two years. On Saturday, I dropped him off at 9am and didn't hear anything until 3pm. When I picked him up, I learned he had been cut on his paw and had bled significantly. The groomer recommended I take him to the vet. Over the next few days, my dog needed two vet visits, stitches under anesthesia, and over $500 in medical care. He now has to wear a cone for two weeks. The groomers offered little apology, and the Pet Barber still charged me full price, including the tip. I won't be returning. They've also raised their prices significantly -- and they're just not worth it. read more

However I called 2 times prior to walking in and there was no response but when I walked in, the place was nearly empty with the workers in the main lobby chatting. (Nothing wrong with this) but you would think the phone would've been answered if everyone was free. Both of my dogs nails had been trimmed a little too close causing each dog to bleed. Not to mention, when they finished the services and returned my dogs, both of my expensive leashes were soaked. The lady who returned it said "sorry it's damp because it's a little wet back there" but the whole entire leash was wet, meaning they most likely put my leashes on their wet floor, or let it drag on the floor. I was taking my pup to a groomer for years who we loved but they were sold to different management and it was never the same. My second time bringing my dog here and he came home with pieces of his paw pads hanging off and extremely lethargic from stress. The owner called me to claim that it was not from their grooming and claims my dog has some sort of infection on his paws which caused them to scab/scabs to fall off. I took him to the vet this morning (not even two days after grooming) and they were clear he has no infection and it was from the grooming process. The vet even tested him for being sick because of how he has acted since coming home and came to the conclusion that it was from stress. The owner tried to insinuate that I don't get my dog groomed often and so he is not used to the grooming process and was stressed out. My dog is almost 11 years old he has been groomed regularly his entire life and has never had an experience that causes him to be so stressed out. My dog and I have been very blessed with the kindness and top notch care from the The Pet Barber. We have visited both locations for grooming and daycare, but we love our Wirt road family. I've been bringing my Miniature Schnauzer since she was a puppy. I interviewed many places before choosing The Pet Barber. I would never trust anyone else with my pup. She's my world and the staff adore her! I love my dog like she's my child so the fact that I can entrust The Pet Barber with her grooming or just hanging out with her friends, (both dog and human) while I'm at work means the world to me. If I could leave a negative start I would. I asked the groomer for a schnauzer cut and they shaved my dog. THEY SHAVED MY DOG WITHOUT MY permission. I've been taking my pup here for at least a year. Today they disappointed me and lost a customer. I understand one customer won't make or break you, but as a business owner, you should be willing to do what it takes to rectify any unpleasant incidents. I came to drop off my pup this morning, I was told by the groomer that my dog is matted and he will have to have a short cut. I asked her how short, will he be bald? Instead of answering me, she went and got a comb to show me his fur. I said it's tangled, but not matted to where he needs to be bald. Mind, you she never answers my question. Instead she proceeded to get a blow dryer to show me his fur. I asked AGAIN how short of a cut or if he will be bald. Didn't get an answer, instead she tells me I have to pay to dematte. I asked ANOTHER time, how short will his cut be or will he be bald. This kept going on until 2 other employees stepped in. By then I was already frustrated and angry and took my dog home. Paul, the owner called me 90 mins later. From the very start he was defensive for his employee. Look, I'm sure a lot of ppl like her and it's great that you stand up for your staff. But I'M your customer and I'm telling you I had an unpleasant visit. He asked if I could drop off my pup now. I said I can't. I had scheduled my day around the original appt and to go to the groomers only twice. Drop off in AM and pick up in PM. I don't have time to come to your store THREE times in one day. Paul asked me what he can do to right the situation. I told him I'm out of town next weekend, I don't get off work during the week until about 5-5:30pm. So as a courtesy to me, he should keep my pup until I get off work and can pick him up at 6pm. He refused to and said it's not the employees' fault and shouldn't have to stay late. As the OWNER, you should be willing to sit there and wait for me. I made my appt on a weekend bc I know I can pick up before closing. It's not my fault your employee was trying to play charades with me at the store and couldn't speak. What is the point of asking me how you can right the situation and be unwilling to do it? The owner even hung up on me bc he didn't want to stay an extra 30 mins for me. I called back and had to speak to his wife, who said "sure, no problem, we will wait for you." What a TERRIBLE business model. You do what you need to do to rectify complaints. Horrible horrible business owners. read more

THE WORST FIRST EXPERIENCE. DONT COME HERE... First off, called to let them know I was running behind and the front desk lady was not very kind. Second, I went in and the front desk lady wasn't very informative knowing it was my first time. Didn't tell me when I was suppose to pick up Ramsey or tell me I'll be receiving a call instead I had to ask? The lady who cut Ramsey's hair was super sweet and did exactly what I asked for. When I picked him up, the front desk lady didn't even call me to inform me about his updated shots saying my dog didn't get the bordetella shot knowing on the shot records.. HE DID!!! and kenneled him away from all the other pets just bc she didn't check the updated vaccinations right. Didn't even call me to let me know instead just crated him WITHOUT ME KNOWING. Our pup has always enjoyed going to his groom appointments at Pet Barber. His favorites, Nancy and Terra just knows how to put him at ease and make the entire experience fun for him. The whole team is exceptional. Seamless scheduling, they pay close attention to groom requests. And if there are any concerns, they are on top of making sure you and your pup are happy. Terra has built a fantastic relationship with Kenzo - which is comforting for us and not to mention sweet. She knows how to work with him (round face/nozzle, keeps lashes long, tubular legs) and makes him the fluffiest! Finding a groomer, a doodle groomer can be hard. We had an excellent experience today with Kirsten! The place is fabulous and very is decorated very industrial modern. Has a very artsy feel to it. It's clean and HUGE. We are overprotective of our Yorkie but right away we felt that she was in good hands with Kirsten. She listened to our concerns about our dog's hair and made suggestions based on our wants. Kirsten immediately made a connection with our pup. Our pup was groomed in a timely manner and was waiting for us when we returned. Super disappointing haircut / groom. Partner picked up our 7 MO Sheepadoodle puppy (75% OES / 25% poodle) and sent images of how shocked he was of our puppy's hair cut. Not only was the cut bad, we received him with poop on his butt and yellow stains. We took him back to get fixed up a bit since it looked so horrible, but there was not much they could do. There was no consolation for the poor haircut. It is very sad to see the lack of care the barber took with this groom. Have been to the newest location of The Pet Barber (Wirt) twice now and am completely satisfied. Their flexible drop off hours and ease of getting an appointment has made life for me and my pet so much smoother. TARA has groomed my standard poodle both times. Tara really listens and cares about what you want the final shape to be. After my poodle's day of beauty she comes home looking more adorable than the time before. Is that even possible?! Amazing service! They will treat your fur baby like their own! Took my older Golden there today (been going to them for years) and she was just cleared from her second ACL surgery. The groomer Kirstin took special care of her and you could truly see the compassion. Since she could only have limited services today, in order to make it easier on Belle, Kirstin laid towels down in the lobby and was on the floor with her to trim up her feet. I don't think many places would go to that extent to make sure your pup is comfortable. Belle needed her feet trimmed to help her walk more easily post surgery. Kirstin knew this, talked me through everything, and made sure Belle was in and out as fast as possible. I can't say enough good things about Kirstin and the Pet Barber team!
