Puddy Cuts is the most inviting dog grooming salon I have ever had the delight of visiting. It's located in a cute house surrounded by a huge, green yard with beautiful trees. Bernie, my new-to-me 9 year old Maltichon, jumped out of the car and immediately started prancing through the yard with a big smile. (The Maltese smile is adorable if you haven't seen it before.) I could tell Bernie was going to love this place. How did I know *I* was going to like Puddy Cuts? As I walked up, I could see Steven grooming another pup. He looked completely relaxed and obviously takes pride in every cut. Steven also recognized Bernie has a little separation anxiety and immediately knew how to calm Bernie's nerves. I'm so thrilled that my sweet girl gets groomed by the best groomer! He has such a calming presence and I've never felt safer leaving my dog with someone. Even better, he knows what he's doing and does it very well! My dog has never looked better. Now, I feel the need to address the negative comments, as they were not warranted. Steven works out of his home and has one table for grooming. His schedule is set, and his business is booming because of him! Hiring another person wouldn't help because everyone goes to Puddy Cuts for Steven! He has regular clients that fill up a majority of his appointments which is why he's booked all the time. We love taking our dogs to him and make damn sure to book several appointments at a time. The first time I called, his first opening was 2 months out, so I booked it. Getting our dog groomed has become the most stressful chore in our household. We've been through soooo many different groomers around town and have yet to settle on one who is consistent and affordable. Luckily we found Puddy Cuts, and it's made our grooming trips so much easier! Steve is a fantastic groomer! I've taken my little cock-a-poo to see Steve sporadically over the past year, and now that he is so highly in-demand we have a standing 6-week appointment. Steve's prices are extremely reasonable compared to the competition, and all communication can be done over text which is extremely convenient. His cuts are very consistent, and far better than the groomer we have used at chain-pet stores. Grooming usually takes around 2 hours for our smaller dog (24-pounds). Scheduling may be a little difficult now that Steve is so busy, but it's definitely worth it to get a standing appointment! read more

Could not be more grateful for an amazing groomer. Our elder Shih-Tzu, Tipper has multiple health issues, all of which require medication....heart condition, skin allergies, and for the past several months (non-contagious) skin infections. We have been making repeated visits to the doggie cardiologist and doggie dermatologist, and she is taking numerous medications in an attempt to keep her as healthy as possible. Compared to the other beautiful dogs at Puddy Cuts, Tipper looks like a mess when she arrives, but by the time she leaves she is once again a pretty dog. I have had dogs my whole life, have been to many groomers, and have never felt so worry-free about leaving my Schnauzer, Jazzy, at Puddy Cuts. Steven's soft, gentle tone has an amazing calming effect on the dogs left in his care. You can tell that he genuinely loves dogs, which means a great deal if you love your "babies" like I do. His grooming skills are fantastic, and I was thoroughly impressed with the way he boards his "guests," because that's how he treats them... like they are guests in his home! I live in Louisiana and was referred to him on a visit there. He has done such a great job that Jazzy has returned to Houston with me a few times, so she can be pampered again by Steven. Stephen was very nice and professional. I was able to get all three of my dogs scheduled and groomed within three days. He only accepts vaccinated dogs which was a huge plus. They are kept in cozy kennels during their spa day. When I picked my dogs up they looked happy and comfortable. He needed 6 hours to get all three dogs baths, hair cuts, and blow dries. They look great and smelled wonderful. He even gave them bandanas and bows. I will definitely be returning to him. I went ahead and scheduled my follow up visits. Terrific job! Steven, the owner, is such a nice and easy going man. One can clearly tell animals are his passion. I don't usually write reviews, but here is why I did it. Just think about something, our pets "can't" talk and are innocent, and some other boarding places take advantage of that and might not take good care of them, but when you find a place, where you know made your pet feel like home, it deserves the 5 stars and the time to type a review. I am so happy I found this place. My dog, like me, has pretty specific hair cut needs and not everyone accomplishes what I want. He's a poodle/cocker spaniel mix (I think) with curly, black hair It took three tries at Rover Oaks for the groomers to get it right when I went there. This isn't your typical grooming salon, but I wasn't looking for typical. I wanted an experienced, calm groomer that could handle my 13 yr old Maltese who is anxious at the groomer and vet and has become a bit fussy. I also wanted a place that would do her straight through so she didn't have to be there all day. I found all this and a reasonable price at Puddy Cuts. Sure its a little unconventional to have a groomer workshop in your garage off your house, but it makes a lot of business and money sense and works just fine.
