Sophie and her staff were negligent, leaving our dog to sleep in a pee soaked bed for multiple nights, was not aware of injuries that caused multiple blood stains on his bedding, and was unprofessional and insulting when confronted about it. Our first boarding experience was when our dog was a puppy, only about 7 months old, and it was okay. The dogs are left alone from 6 pm at night until the next morning at 8 am. For a puppy this was too long and in the middle of summer he was drinking lots of water so he peed his bed. Our next boarding experience was this past weekend for 4 nights when our dog was 1 year old. We specifically asked for water to be taken up and check his cubby each morning since he had previously had accidents at PatioGate (he hadn't had any accidents at home or elsewhere since he was 4 months). We also provided two beds to use in case he did wet one; we assumed they would wash it and switch it out for a dry bed. When we picked him up I asked Sophie if he had peed in his cubby. She brought us both beds from his cubby and touched and smelled them telling us he did not pee but had "spilled his water bowl during lunch". During the car ride home we could smell a stale smell but it wasn't until went to wash them that we realized both beds had been soaked in pee. The foam pillow insert was completely discolored on both beds, with one being dried and discolored while the other was still soaked. These beds have covers that are waterproof on the top and sides with a mesh lining on the bottom. The pillows were completely soaked through, clearly indicating that they had sat in and soaked up pee for multiple days and that our dog had to sleep on pee-soaked beds for multiple nights. One of the inserts also had multiple bloodstains, which is particularly concerning that our dog had bled enough to soak through the waterproof liner. Sophie specifically told us that he hadn't had any injuries or scratches. Our dog has short white fur, so any cuts would have been obvious and leads us to believe that she did not pay close attention to our dog during his stay. I called Sophie to talk about this and ask what happened. During the call she repeatedly told me that "dogs pee on their beds all the time." She reassured me that her dogs sometimes pee on their beds and lay in it. While this may be acceptable to her, it is absolutely unacceptable to me. She was entirely unprofessional and belittling, asking if this was our first dog (it's not) and saying this is normal dog behavior. Even if it were normal for dogs to pee on their beds, I would have expected Sophie to be aware enough to notice and replace the bed. She kept insisting his cubby was dry and the fact that we "accepted the beds and happily walked away" when we picked our dog up was proof the beds hadn't been peed on. The attached pictures of the insert (removed from the waterproof lining) show the amount of pee and blood that had soaked through the lining and dried, and we had wrongfully assumed that she was trustworthy enough that we did not need to inspect them prior to leaving. Sophie refused to refund our stay or pay for even one of the beds (both are damaged beyond repair since the pillow can't be washed). She wanted to "try to work something out" if we agreed not to leave a negative review, but we have no interest in bringing our dog to PatioGate again so we refused any agreement other than a refund or replacement of our bedding. After being sent the pictures of the pillow inserts, she accused us of lying and sending pictures of beds that had been soiled prior to our stay. Our dog has not had an accident since he was 4 months, and if he did we would never leave it in our home long enough to soak in and dry. She threatened to talk to her "tight knit community of dog boarding/daycare places about us" and have us blacklisted from other boarding places. Her attempts at bullying and intimidation are as equally abhorrent as her lack of care for the dogs placed in her care.

Needed last minute boarding. Great place! Fantastic staff! I felt like they loved my dog as much as I do! Bella got lots of exercise and socialization with other dogs. In fact, all the dogs there appear happy. You can actually see and hear them playing & barking when you drive by. When I picked up Bella, I could tell she was comfortable there. She was ready for a nap when we got home. PatioGate Pet Resort is reasonably priced! Can't recommend it enough!!! Thank you, Sophie!

He is so chilled right now and I love it!

PatioGate is amazing!!! Every time I bring Shadow home from PatioGate he is laid out somewhere. I like how I can take my dog to a pet resort and not kill my pockets for extra play time. I have a German Shepard Husky mix. He is FULLLL of energy and wants to play all the time. At PatioGate he gets to play majority of the day for just ONE fee. Which I LOVE! Unlike other places where they charge you an additional fee for just 15 extra minutes outside. My dog needs more than that! This is my third time using PatioGate and won't be my last.

Trigger smiling after his visit at PatioGate

I recently left him there for 5 nights while I was out of town, August 13 - 18, 2025. I picked him up and my dog is exhibiting fear based behaviors that include flinching, cowering and whining. I don't know what happened to him while under your care, I called to talk to someone on your staff, it was a male, hispanic. He didn't offer his title. He said he spoke to the staff but nothing out of the ordinary occurred that anyone could recall. I just now bent down to put on his leash and he flinched when I got near him. It breaks my heart that he's now acting this way. He is 11 years old and has never behaved this way. I just took him to the vet to get him examined and try to find out why he is acting this way. This dog never whines or is vocal. Please supervise your employees closely and make sure they are treating all of our animals with proper care. I don't have any proof that anything happened to my dog aside from his behavior after leaving the facility. I'm just stating my experience with my dog and your facility.

Judge for yourself if the injuries are scratches or bite marks and if a dog is physically able to scratch itself on the inside of its ear. They are very clearly puncture wounds to us and our vet. --------------------------------------- Dropped off our blind dog 11.24.2025 at roughly 3pm. The morning of 11.28.2025 we received a message that his ear had been bleeding and they believed it was from scratching so they provided him with the expected medical care. Afternoon of 11.29.2025 they told us he was "shaking". My wife was able to pick him up early and take him to the emergency vet (Saturday evening and regular vet closed) who shaved and treated the area and gave him antibiotics. We did follow-up with our regular vet and they determined that the injuries were puncture wounds from a dog attack. When we told them Fur Paws said the injuries were from him scratching himself they looked at us like we had just told them 1 + 1 = 3. In spite of the records we provided from the vet showing his treatment history and their diagnosis of "dog bite wounds and vestibular disease" Fur Paws claims he arrived there with some condition that led to him scratching himself (on the inside of his ear too!). He arrived 11.24, they noticed wounds 11.28, and by the afternoon of 11.29 he was shaking so he had a fever. It takes 24-72 hours for infection and then a fever to occur so one can do the math on their claim that he arrived with an ailment already. Then you add in that these are clearly not scratch marks and you see that they're questioning our intelligence with their explanation. Send your dog here at your own risk.
