I've heard of Simpatico, but this is more like Same-Petco, in other words it's the same as a lot of the other Petco locations. Located in the rich part of town, you will find this pet store which we go to on a regular basis because it's close to our house, and they usually have more stock than the one on Shepherd. We took our newly-adopted dog here for "Adult Level 1" training with Cara. There were 2 other dogs in the class, and it was great. Cara was exceptionally good, which was obvious because all 3 dogs were at so different, but she related to each of them expertly. We had to miss 1 of the weekends, and I really appreciate that they offer a "make-up" lesson. We enjoyed being in the class, and enjoyed shopping in the store as well. Would recommend! read more

This review is for their grooming salon. I've consistently had great experiences with the salon, from accommodating last-minute bookings to the actual appointment. My dog tends to be very anxious around new people and they always make sure to tell me how he did, which I appreciate. They're especially mindful of making sure he's comfortable during the services; he has black nails and long quicks so his nails can be tricky to trim, but they do a great job. There enthusiastic dog trainer, Shelby is eager to help answer the oddest of pet questions and is super knowledgeable of the stores brands and products. She's taken me on dog food "tours" so I could make the right choice and feel confident in my decision. I appreciated that she asked me about my budget and offered best solutions to switching brands. Grooming: so far I've taken my dog three times to get groomed here. The prices are competitive for my long haired maltese. Shauni ce and Bryce have done a great job keeping him looking his best. I took my 2 German shepherds to be groom and spoiled spent close to 200.00 and waited over 3hrs for them which was no problem because I expected them to be clean and looking good which was not the case. All I got was a couple of wet dogs with fur everywhere and still scratching like crazy I was very disappointed and wanted to speak with the groomer but she had clocked out. Their nails weren't clipped etc. And when I requested a refund I was given the runaround was told I had to come in person speak to 2 different managers and they just happened to be on vacation then told I needed to speak with the General manager of the store, can you believe this? So you didn't know that from the start before you sent me on this wild goose chase. Oh by the way I wasn't able to reach her either, I'm a 100% disabled veteran and on a budget and this sure didn't help my blood pressure so it's safe to say I won't be going back being treated like this. Very poor customer service experience this location is high volume and only has two employees on a Sunday to check people out and leaves people waiting in line for over 10 minutes!!! Who has time for that?! Find another business to give your hard earned money to, because this company doesn't care about the customer or they would be running their business better! I took my dog to be groomed there and had a set appointment with a certain groomer. Turns out they let the guy in the back who washes the dogs Cut my dogs hair. When I came to pick up my dog I was in a hurry so I paid them without looking at the grooming. When I got home I saw what a terrible job they had done. That cut was an even and unprofessional. I noticed that they had cut him in several places with the clippers so he had several open sores. They must not of cleaned the equipment between groomings because my dog got a very bad rash/ infection and had to be put on antibiotics. read more

I'm so annoyed with this Petco. I only come here because it's super close to my house. My latest experience was as follows. I had to finish purchased on June 23 that passed away for unknown causes. According to Petco's website, you are able to return fish for an exchange or refund within 30 days of purchase. Because my other fish had not yet consumed the remains of these two as they have done in the past, I was able to extract and freeze my fish until I was able to bring the fish back to the store. On July 9, I was able to make my return. The associate Jannet told me it would not be a problem. I waited a long time for somebody to help me, and made an even exchange with identical fish from the same tank. As I went to check out with a couple other products, I felt like my total purchase might have been too high. Upon receiving my receipt I noticed that she refunded the cheapest to fish on my old receipt, instead of the 2 swords. In effect, Jannet ended up overcharging me by two dollars plus tax. Super annoyed because having a two-year-old with me, I don't have time to figure out the difference. I brought it up to Jannet after the transaction was complete and she Couldn't have cared less. In fact I'm pretty sure I noticed an eye roll. She blamed it on the fact that the fishes were different SKUs. This is one of the many annoying things that have occurred at the store. I just walked out and offered to gladly give my review. Please see pics for proof. I returned 2 swords (worth $2.99 ea) and bought 2 swords at $2.99 each. I was only refunded $3.98. They forgot to put my appointments in twice already and I've seen the groomer tug the dog around on the table. I'm just no longer satisfied and worried my dog is not getting proper care. Lastly, I took my Giant Schnauzer in for a groom and they injured her badly. The worst of it all is that with the uneven cut that they gave her, they still had the audacity to charge me. My goodness , the customer service I received from Holly was so uncomfortable. I waited at the front while she bagged crickets in the corner at the register. She turned and looked at me and didn't say anything and continued doing what she was doing. I'm very patient person and don't mind waiting but acknowledgement would be nice. Finally after 2-3 mins of standing waiting , she walked over didn't look at me or speak a word and started ringing up my sale. I said hello how are you. Her response very dry and never once looked at me said "alright". I get that people go through things in life and not always chipper but this was the most uncomfortable service I have received from anyone in a long time. Just took my puppy for his first haircut at Petco Grooming located in Hwy 6 and FM 529. Groomer was Brittany. When I arrived she told me that the dog might not let her do the haircut because it was his first time. I knew that was not an issue because he loves baths and to be taken care of. I have been doing it since he was 8 weeks. He is 4 months now. So after an hour I get call that the dog is ready. To my surprise the dog did not get a haircut and I still got charged for the haircut. I called Petco customer service to get a refund on the haircut without success. The rep name was Paula A. I understand it may be hard to get a dog haircut because they may move too much. But that's why you go to professionals. And if you cannot get the haircut done then you shouldn't get charged. read more

I did A LOT of research before picking a place because training is one of those things that will have an impact on your dogs their whole life. I have been to a lot of Pet-places in our fair city, some that were privately owned and expensive, and some that were cheap and impersonal chain stores. This is one of the rare chain-stores that has a personal kind of feel to it. The staff here seems to really like the place and they take care to talk with you about your pet. I have had conversations with most of the people who work here and I really appreciate that they love animals. The kitty adoption center at the front of the store is carefully tended by community volunteers. They are serious about getting those kitties a home, and I can totally see why. Mucho Buenos Gatos! The people in the grooming center are super cool and seem to really like what they do. I have seen them work and I can testify that they are super gentle and caring... two things that I would have a hard time being if I was trying to wrangle a bouncy pup or a screeching cat into a soapy bath. I think I pay about $30 for a grooming for my Australian Cattle Dog. The bulk treats are great too! And the Alphabet treats are a perfect fit for my puppies KONG for way less money than the KONG brand stuffers. Play on Doggy/Kitty/Ferret/Hampster/Bird/Rodent lovers! read more

Avoid going to Petco if at all possible. Everything from training, grooming and customer service has been absolutely horrendous. The training classes were very lazy and uninformative. My dog was groomed multiple times there with no issues and all the sudden she was doing back flips and acting out of control? When we picked her up employees were seen sitting on their phones and texting while ignoring customers. We were very loyal customers for the last year and constantly excusing customer service fails like pricing incorrectly and lying about certain online deals being cheaper because they were too lazy to look and see. We decided that enough was enough and we will no longer use any petco's in the future. read more

I love the "dog bar" where you can get all kinds of treats for your doggie like carob-chip cookies, rawhide and cheese crisps. Scoopable litter...that's why I go here. I don't use their grooming services and because I have cats I rarely buy toys or treats. If I have a box around the house the cats are happy and ham is actually my cats' favorite treat. But I do buy Petco scoopable litter. And I am mostly writing this because of that. The scoopable litter at Petco is inexpensive and VERY good for what it is. You can get it in two different sizes and reuse your container for a discount each time you refill. When I bring my big 30 pound bucket back I get a discount from the regular price of $14.99 to $11.24. I have two cats and two litter boxes. This lasts me about a month because it scoops so well. The staff is nonexistent except for the cashier when I am there weekday afternoons. But they are always pleasant and ask if I need help carrying it out. Maybe on the weekends when they are likely busier there's more employees wandering about. The parking lot can be a mess as the store shares an oddly set up lot with several large stores.Sometimes I have to park a ways from the door. They have a doggie snack bar, allow pets in on leashes, have kittens for adoption at the front of the store, carry most anything you need or want for your pets and the store is bright and usually very clean and well stocked. read more

2 types of review: The good: Among all the Petcoes this is the one I like the best. Very chill atmosphere, they always have a special running on dog toys. Very helpful staff, always nice - this place is clean and has most o the stuff you need. I have to warn you that the prices are usually 20% above what you get on Amazon.com. They have treats by the lbs and dogs love them. The bad: I booked an appointment to trim my wirehaired dachshund mix and they LITERALLY SHAVED HER! What's wrong with you!??! And they did not call us when the dog was ready, she basically stayed there for 4 hours after the shaving occurred. I brought in a dachshund and we got a chihuahua back, just longer. We complained and we got the service for free but the poor dog has been cold for the next 3 weeks... No, this is not funny and I will not come back again for that service. read more

I have a very temperamental Pomeranian and Miles has always been super kind and patient with him. Plus his haircuts always turn out exactly the way we want it!
