When I took her to the vet, I was informed that two ingrown toenails had been removed during her grooming appointment. My biggest concern is that no one told me this happened. If a procedure was performed or there was an issue with my dog's nails, I should have been informed when I picked her up. Instead, I was left wondering why my dog was suddenly limping and in pain. I understand that accidents and unexpected situations can happen, but communication with pet owners is extremely important. Had I been told about the ingrown toenails and their removal, I would have known what to expect and how to properly care for my dog afterward. I'm disappointed by the lack of communication and hope management addresses this issue so other pet owners are fully informed about anything that occurs during their pet's grooming appointment.

Today I tried to buy some cat food, but the line was so long, and it was taking so much time just to buy a bag of cat food that I left it near the cash register and walked out. There are some positive aspects to this Pet Smart. Six months ago, I had a really bad experience with a groomer who was extremely rude and disrespectful, but the manager was professional and corrected the error by providing a refund for the grooming. That particular groomer is no longer at this location. I think the management is friendly and helpful, but they definitely need more cashiers.

As a first-time customer and a single mom veteran, I wanted to share a more detailed experience…read more During my visit, I purchased basic starter items and supplies, and my total came close to $300. At checkout, I was informed that purchases of this size do not qualify for a veteran discount, which was unexpected and not clearly communicated beforehand. The store environment is clean, organized, and very nice visually, making it a pleasant place to browse. However, the pricing on many essential items--particularly beginner supplies and fish--seems noticeably higher compared to other local options. For someone just starting out, the cost can add up quickly without clear value advantages. It would be helpful if the store provided more transparency around discount policies and offered better pricing or starter bundles for beginners. While the shopping experience itself is positive, the overall value for the price paid may not meet expectations for budget-conscious customers.

Shame on this company for breeding dogs that are clearly sick and suffering. I'm not even sure if…read moreshe has a proper breeding license, but regardless, it's heartbreaking to see animals treated like products instead of living beings. Breeding should be about the health and well-being of the dogs, not just profit. I've seen an alarming number of reviews reporting dogs dying, developing heart failure, missing teeth, and even having broken hips. It's absolutely disgusting and deeply disturbing. No animal deserves to be brought into the world just to suffer, and breeders who neglect their responsibility like this should be held fully accountable. If you choose to respond to this review, it doesn't matter. Whether it's a Texans game or a day at Rodeo, having access to pet friendly supplies for our furry friends is clutch when PetSmart is right across the street. For would be pet owners, there are also adoption services (with a fee) for animals looking for a home. They won't win any awards for customer service, but trust there's a solid stuff working here. There's plenty of parking and rarely any lines at check-out. The selection for most things is pretty good. I'm new to Texas and was stunned by the complete lack of professionalism, transparency, and basic courtesy I received at this location. I arrived on Saturday for a confirmed 11:30 AM grooming appointment, only to be told it had been canceled without notice. The manager admitted it was their mistake, apologized, and promised I would be compensated. Because I work 12+ hour shifts at a hospital, I had to arrange for a friend (who had to Uber) to bring my dog back while I worked. When I came to pick up my dog Monday, I was met with rudeness and racial condescension by a manager named Bobby, who dismissed everything I explained, refused to check the notes, and spoke to me like I was a problem -- not a paying customer who had been wronged. She walked off mid-conversation when I asked for clarification. Her tone and treatment felt deeply racially biased, and I left the store feeling humiliated. This isn't about a discount -- it's about respect. I expected PetSmart to own its mistake, not to be gaslit, silenced, or demeaned. I've filed a formal complaint to corporate and urge others to stay away from this location if you expect basic customer service or accountability.

They are not open on the weekends as yelp suggests or even their posted sign at the facility. I'm not sure when this started, but I drove almost an hour this morning, only to be turned away. I called ahead of time and didn't get to speak with anyone, but their answering machine indicated that they were open. The last time I stopped by (2 months ago) they were open, but just not allowing people inside (curbside assistance). I was able to get supplies and my get my girls their nail trims. Now it appears they aren't even doing that. I called when I got there, and a young lady came out to let me know all of this. She said that we can only pick up online orders and when we pick up our supplies someone may or may not be able to do nail trims--she wasn't sure. She was very sweet, but I was so confused. There was nothing on the website that indicated this. I understand that these are difficult times, but I just wish I knew before I loaded up my gliders and headed that way. Still a fantastic company, but I felt a little blind-sighted. Yelp literally says that they are open until 6pm today (it is 11am on a Saturday). Clearly that is incorrect. Do yourselves a favor, save your gas and don't drive to this business without actually contacting someone first. And order everything online.

We have taken are puppy to Pearland Barkway since his first cut and have gone quite a few times since. The front desk employees are always great and detailed, and today was no different. The reason I am leaving this review is just provide feedback about my experience and how I left feeling. When dropping off Lio, my boyfriend and I are super specific about how we cut his hair, because he's a poodle a mix and the cut usually defines that. When I was asked about the cut for today, I asked if we can just do the same as last time. The woman up front even went to find the sheet from a filing cabinet and called the groomer to the front to discuss it with me. She asked if I wanted a "4" all around and I said if that's what he got last time then yes. She copied a few notes from his last sheet to today's sheet. When I picked him up, I was very surprised and didn't even recognize Lio to be honest. I didn't say anything other greet him and give him some love, up until I asked if everything looked good. I said it was muncher shorter than what I expected and again she was kind enough to bring out the sheets and call the groomer out. I showed a video of what Lio looked like when he got his haircut a month ago to the groomer. She said this is what a "4" all around is and I replied I don't know all the terminology about grooming but this is not what he looked like last time. A second receptionist pointed out that his last sheet had notes on there that indicated to keep his hair long in a particular style that obviously were not taken into consideration. I told them, well his hair is gone and I asked well what can I ask for next time so that we can get what we wanted. They pulled out the sheet and made notes with me to ensure next cut would be better. Throughout this conversation, they weren't at all rude but I felt like the groomer realized she had made a mistake. She didn't apologize but said the last sheet had a lot of notes and made it confusing. I also felt it was odd to charge a customer before seeing how the grooming went. I wasn't expecting anything but offering some sort of refund or discount on my next cut seemed fitting due to how much hair they cut off of my puppy. I know in the future to provide photos and be EXTREMELY descriptive. I'm also going to request a different groomer next time we come in. I went ahead and uploaded two photos. One is from a month ago from his last cut and today's; I'm sure you'll see the difference.
