The PetSmart website makes my blood boil. I would like to make an online purchase. I've been able to make only one in the past. Time after time I'll try to make an attempt to purchase pet food for curbside or just pick up. It says the product is available. When I get to finalizing by paying the website throws me out. When I try to call the location to see if they have the actual product in stock. They're either not answering or currently there's a recording stating that they're not taking any stock checks. Service is great at the groomers! Much better than petco! I hate petco they always have terrible service when it comes to groomers. Anyway, The girl was very understanding when I told her to make sure she does not wrap the leash around my pug's neck because obviously her eyes will bulge out if she is strangled hard enough. She has breathing problems too so the strangling does not help that. She was very reassuring and made me feel I could trust her with handling my pug. I came back and my pug was brand new! I still have yet to decide if I really love this place because I will be bringing in my second dog soon. The only issue is instead of taking an hour and a half, it took over 3 hours woah. I got my dog in the beginning of this year and started shopping at petsmart because it's close by. Only reason I hardly shop here anymore is they don't open their doors till 10am for public during covid and close at 7pm I start work at 9 and don't get off work till 730. I like that they got most of the things I need but now I have to drive all the way to petco just to get things because their hours are more flexible. Hopefully covid is over soon. read more

FOOD CONTAMINATED WITH MOLD/ MYCOTOXINS! Do not buy food from PetSmart unless you want your dog to have Mycotoxin poisoning. I purchased dog treats from PetSmart on 9/24/19, gave them to my dogs on 9/25/19, and had to rush one of them to VERC on 9/26/19. Both dogs were vomiting with violent diarrhea, but the smaller dog was not eating and could barely hold her head up. After the ER visit, I examined everything I had fed them leading up to her symptoms and found white spots on the dog treats! How PetSmart handled the situation deserves another negative review. I took the treats back and asked the manager what the spots were. She was very unapologetic and almost seemed annoyed, no concern for my dog like "how is she doing" etc, just "yea we can refund this". She said she filed a report with the corp office and that I'll be hearing from them shortly, but nothing. I had to call corp and explain the situation, I said that the vet wanted to test the treats so if I could pick it back up, and corp was cooperative saying sure no problem and transfers me to the store manager. The store manager KEONI and I had a very different conversation. First, he kept saying "hmmm let me see what I can do here" or "hmmm let me see if we have it cause the returns are usually destroyed asap". Then he said he can give me SOME of the treats in a bag to take to my vet but not the original packaging. I said my concern was that only some of the treats have the spots so what if the handful he gives me doesn't have it, my vet cant test it properly. He then said "well we can't do that cause we have to send it out and do some testing of our own". Are you f****** kidding me? My dog is in the emergency room and you're saying petsmart doing "their own testing" is more important than diagnosing what is making my dog ill from YOUR store?! (there was no apology or concerned questions regarding my dog from this man either) I had to call corporate again, and tell them I felt he would tamper with the treats to protect the company, he sorted the situation so that I could receive the original packaging but basically informed me that PETSMART IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SELLING ROTTEN FOOD, and to take it up with the manufacturer. Took my dogs to the vet again on 10/01 because now my other dog is not eating. The vet tested the white spots on the treats and confirmed it is MOLD/ MYCOTOXINS!! He recommended bloodwork because mycotoxin poisoning can cause liver cell death/ liver failure in dogs. Both of my dogs had to get blood drawn from their jugular vein in their throat, and I had to listen to them scream through the whole process. Now they're both on intensive medication. The manufacturer isn't eager to assume responsibility either, and it's exactly what I expected. Ultimately I feel it is PetSmart who is responsible. The mold could've been from improper storage before putting it on the shelf, and if it was there before, it is their fault for not checking the food first (see photos as the white spots are clearly visible through the package). Should I have examined it first? Yes, but when you purchase something you trust the retailer. I normally shop at PETCO and I guarantee I'd never ever find moldy treats from there, and if I did, they back up their products 100%. Overall I'm shocked by the experience. This was my first and last time shopping at PetSmart and I'd advise every pet owner who loves their pets not to shop here. For one, there is no quality control to make sure they are not selling poisonous food, and don't feel responsible for sending your dog to the ER if they're poisoned, the employees have no remorse and definitely do not care for their customers, their concern is protecting the company and throwing blame around. At this point, it's not even about paying the vet bills even thought that is the very least they should do. It's that my dogs are SUFFERING, and will need to constantly be monitored. I'm hoping this irresponsible store shuts down. Go to PETCO instead, they are cleaner, responsible, and genuinely care for the well-being of animals. Through the years of shopping there I've never experienced contaminated food. They also price match, so you won't lose any monetary value for ensuring the health of your pets. read more

They do not follow their own policies. Purchased an item and tried to return item 3 days after. They said due to pandemic there created a no return policy. Item I purchased was unopened and I needed a bigger size. I understand the cross contamination possibilities so I offered to "sanitize" the outside plastic wrapper of the unopened item. Informed them that all customers are still able to shop and touch items without purchasing so this also has cross contamination possibilities. There was no social distancing policies they themselves did not have masks and the workers were talking and hanging out with each other less than one foot away. They said they are able to accept purchases for return if purchased in March but not April. (Forgot the specific date) WHAT? So items purchased March 30 is 100% free of contamination but not 1 April? N they had one paper they printed out to inform customers posted about policy but the cashier never bothered to inform me of this prior to purchase. I don't think anyone reads each and every sign posted in entire store. This would take every customer more than one hour of reading. The cashier was kind and told me she thinks I should be able to return this but she can't. No store credit could be offered either. She informed me I should wait until pandemic clears and I can possibly return this. Mind boggling. Understand flexibility is needed but this seems unfair when they themselves want to pick and choose when flexibility should happen and only when it benefits the business. read more

Horrible experience with grooming salon. Sanya R did not provide the level of service we typically receive. She was unprofessional. I got there 7 minutes ahead of my scheduled appt. Then I went in and was sent out again a total of 3 times. Then when I complained about the service and going in and out several times. Then when they conducted the exam I feel as if they wanted to give an excuse for not seeing Scooby. They said because he had cherry eye. Which he's had over 1 year. So then they say had a distended stomach so he can't be seen. Not sure why they would say that when Scooby has been given a clean bill of Healy and updated shot record. It's true he is fat for a bishon and just ate but it was ridiculous how the groomers assumes there is a problem with him. I am very impressed at how huge this store is! They have so many options to choose from and the prices are competitive than petco. We were greeted upon entering and greeted as we left. And I always appreciate when employees take the time to greet a customer, it's like acknowledging a customers existence in their store. lol I enjoyed the fact that the isles are spaced out and not so crowded. I normally go to petco and I dread how close everything is in there, especially on busy days. But here at petsmart, there's enough room for everyone and their fur babies to walk around w out worrying if you'll bump or step on each other. Haha They're pretty well stocked on most items. They do have a sale going on. Some stuff are 30% off. My main interest was the dog section. They had cute clothing for $6! And a toy for $2! If I had brought my dog, oh boy would he be in heaven. On the left side of the wall near the fish section, they have an adoption center full of cats !! Their homes are big !! I loved it !! They could roam w the other cats and still had enough space for themselves too. The fish section: they've got a variety of fish to choose from. I saw some prices that were $4, but they also have a red tag on certain fish - buy 2 get 1 free. That's a pretty good deal. I also saw another red tag that said "prices starting at $5." They don't have much pets at this store YET. They did have a few guinea pigs, birds, & mice as far as we knew. Guinea pig section: prices are comparable to Walmart for their hay and the best part is that they've got Multiple brands to choose from !!! They even had this cuuuute little soft bed for guinea pigs/rodents. It's a miniature version of a dogs bed !! Lol All in all, I'm excited to make this location our newest pet stop for all of our pets wants and needs. It's close to my home and they seem to have significant amount of parking! The staff are friendly! Prices are great! Tons of things to choose from! And the pets are cuuuute! I'm sure they offer other services too. When I'm able to find the time to explore the entire store and dig into what services they've got, then I will definitely update my review. For now, I love this store ! read more

If my dog wasn't already in the groomers hands I would have taken her and went back to PetCo where even if it costs more atleast they wouldn't make me uncomfortable. I own Pets not just a dog, and I'm wearing shorts.. where would I fit something if I even thought to steal? I'm pretty upset and I will definitely be looking for a manager when I go back to pick up my dog. I rarely post my opinion on places but I'm not the only one who posted a bad service review. My groomer seemed pretty friendly though. So they get to keep the 3 stars. I have told the cashier that she made me uncomfortable and she says sorry, and gives me this strange look, so I attempt to kinda make a joke and say is it cuz we're in kalihi? And she goes well there's petsmart in mililani. Not sure. Seems like they just hire people for the bodies and not the quality or efficiency nowadays. Went in for the grand opening. $5 gift cards were passed outside along with $150 grooming gift card. They advertised the first 25 ppl would get free grooming so we went super early and we were the first ones there. It was pretty busy! Went to the grooming area and dropped our dog off. Went shopping around the store. The store is pretty big. They also offer pet training classes that start at about $150 (I think). There was an adoption center outside where there was about 3 dogs up for adoption. Lines were pretty long. After our shopping and that long line we went to wait for our dog at the grooming section. So here's the twist ~ we picked up our dog and the lady asks "did you get your coupon for the grooming?" I said yes. Then she prints me a paper and says "okay you can wait in line and bring this paper to the cashier and use your coupon to pay". I'm standing there shaking my head at this point. So I walk back to where the line is and it was even longer! I walk back to the grooming area and ask one of the workers "you guys advertised that the first 25 people would get free grooming service. So why do I have to use my coupon if I was the first person at the store? Then wait in line again??" She says "I don't know how they're doing it " I said "well none of this makes sense!" She repeats that she doesn't know how it's being done and that I can just go back in line. I repeat that it doesn't make sense. She says "I can get a manager". She was pretty young so I'm assuming she wasn't trained on customer service. The manager comes out and apologizes for the confusion and says that I can follow a male worker to a cashier and they'll ring me up to avoid the long line. Get to the cashier and she rings up the coupon and keeps it. UMM WHAT? There's $150 worth of grooming in there and this session cost me $50. So the male worker grabs the coupon and gives it to me and apologizes and says I can still use it. The cashier just stared at me. The grand opening was not organized to say the least. Management was on top of it so that's where the 4 star review comes in. I think the employees need a lil more training and that store will be G. Cleanliness was on point so that's another 4 stars along with great products and wide selection. read more

We like to come here on school holidays. It's fun to look at the tiny colorful chickens. I wonder if the employees take the eggs home or cook them for the cats. Cats love chicken eggs and nuggets. We also like to name all the kitters. If they are sleeping we blow through the whole to wake them up. Timmy sometimes yells sleeper no sleeping and the cats just give him a stinky look. Lol. They should just sleep at night and play for people in the day. We also like to look at the fish. Timmy likes to stick his finger the the fish bowls that look like to go soup cups. That wakes them up and they seem to enjoy it and play for us. Timmy's sister liked to pretend to kiss the bigger fish in the other big tasks. Sometimes it works and they blow us all kisses back. Timmy also likes to make his shoed squeak near the crickets and they squeak back. He is so special with animals. Like a young Jesus. read more

Wanted to use my rewards at this store. The people are helpful, however, didn't realize that rewards expire and I was pretty irritated. Anyway, I purchased a plant for my tank cause they are snail free. They are not cheap either; around $6.00 and up. I picked one that was $14.00 and it looked healthy. Staff is rude, unhelpful, incompetent. The employees here literally have no idea how to do their job. Just trying to return one of the carpet cleaners we rented from them, waited in line and the ditzy girl working the counter told us we couldn't return it because we didn't have some piece of paper they never asked us to bring back even though we had the receipt in hand. Instead of finding another way to take PetSmarts machine back she ignored us and started checking out the customer behind us not even saying anything to us or that she would call over a manager. Just left us standing there wasting our time... We happened to find the manager on our own who was very helpful and just had the paperwork he needed to return the machines right by the checkout desk and let us go about our day. The rude unhelpful girl who didn't know how to do her job was named Geann or something. Needs to learn how to perform all aspects of her job instead of telling us we just can't return the machine and ignoring us because she doesn't know what to do. What a waste of time. If I would give this place ZERO stars I would this people shouldn't even work here if they don't know how to handle dogs or don't have love for animals. The groomers are EXTREMELY RUDE and I'm getting an attorney to file investigation on this place animal foods are expired. My dogs nails were trim so damn short it was bleeding and that's the reason why my dog have a hard time going to this place this female groomer would tell me that my dog is showing aggressive behavior. First of all, my dog only does this when a person is doing him wrong or when he can sense bad people that don't give shit about animals. My dog loves humans only if your don't do him wrong because he will remember you. This not the first time my dogs nails were trim very short. I can't stand this place but I found a place for my baby to go to because this place is a death on a bed for dogs. I brought my dog in for a grooming appointment that I scheduled a week ago. 8:30 am Sunday morning. When I was checking my dog in, the groomers were rude and sugguested that they need to talk to a store manager before accepting my dog for his appointment because he breathes loudly. He is a 130lb mastiff. Mastiffs breathe louldy some times. They informed me that they would not be able to accept my dog for his scheduled appointment due to "loud breathing." It seemed much more like it was early Sunday morning and they were looking for an excuse to not have to start working yet. This is not the first appointment that I have booked my dog for at this store. Roughly 1 month ago, he was there for a grooming appointment and was in their custody for 6 hrs. There was no issue with his loud breathing then. There was no mention of it. There was also no mention of it during my week in advance phone call booking! They wasted my time on a Sunday morning. Obviously I could not schedule a same day appointment elsewhere. I will never return to this store for any reason. I advise against going to this store to everyone! read more

Haven't had a reason to come to PetSmart until recently when we decided to start a fish tank. Every single staff member was not only helpful but also help guide us on how to start our tank (with all necessities and instructions), offered to test the water (for free), suggested starter fish and food. We did go to a competitor that is located closer to where we live and it did not meet the standards that PetSmart in Kalihi did with cleanliness and educated staff members. We continue to make the drive to shop at this location and I do not know the young lady's name that works as a cashier in the front with curly dark hair, but she is SUPER friendly and always smiling. She greets from the start and says goodbye to every single person who leaves the store. She has been there every time we have gone and her customer service is consistent and she makes the entire experience end on a great note. I highly recommend shopping at this location. As a bonus, plenty parking, Longs Drug Store and Ross are also in this shopping center. read more

They also have a price comparison policy where if you find something cheaper at another store, they'll match the price. The only thing that stops me from giving it a full five stars is the location. There are SOOOOOOOO many homeless people outside and I have seen one outside taking a dump and I saw their...parts. My cat was turned away from his grooming appointment (upon arrival) due to biting if you pick him up the wrong way (he is a very sweet cat, he just doesn't like to be picked up certain ways). I understand the strict policy, but it would have been nice to be asked the questions on the phone when I scheduled the appointment so I didn't have to take an afternoon off work to take him in, just to be turned away. This store doesn't even deserve a one star it suck. I recently bought 20 fishes and when I got home there alright 2 died, after few days I found more fishes dead body in the tank and others got symptoms of diseases. The attitude or poor knowledge of the shop worker because when I ask for api item that clean up fish waste they said they don't think they got it but later on I found out they got it by myself. They just take the died fishes from the tank and didn't even add anything like medications to other fishes and give me the fishes with diseases(I found out when I got home, currently 5 died after 2 days). I have went to kalihi pet center, petplus, Petco and other aquarium store before but never seen a store like this(first time got fresh new fishes died quite angry). We purchased a Male Guinea pig from this location a few weeks ago. He was on sale, which I thought was sad, but couldn't resist his sweetness. We already have 2 of our won & wanted to get them another friend to add to their herd. Do yourself a favor & don't purchase a Guinea pig from here UNLESS you plan to take them straight to the vet first. Our new addition is doing well now, but they seem to be a Respiratory virus carrier. :( He brought it in & of course spread it to our other fur babies. After a 300.00 vet visit (including meds) they are all happy & healthy! I guess I should known better. The staff isn't even very knowledgeable. They shouldn't even be selling them. We won't go back because it will be to heartbreaking to see more of them ....... they aren't even fed a proper diet. All of this is just surprising since we came from Germany where they take adopting pets very seriously (yes, even guinea pigs). It just isn't the same here. read more

*PET GROOMING REVIEW FIRST* My usual groomer was booked so I did my research and ended up choosing pet smart & only a few had reviews for the grooming here. I was hesitant because i heard all the horror stores about big company grooming and i honestly didn't want another person grooming my dog because he was already comfortable with someone else. I had Maggie and she was great! I would give her a 5 star! but for the service and the price i would rate Petsmart a 3 star. Whatever they use to wash your dogs is not "natural" because he smelt like a can of generic can air freshener lol My dog is 12 pounds, shitzu maltese mix. Got a wash and shave + nail filing = $75+ tax... whaaaat? I'm sorry but these big companies are suppose to have competitive rates and I was told last month it would be around $50. My usual groomer charges $50-60 includes everything-cute accessories (bows, ties eat), & printed pictures. Petsmart- nothing. I'll only come back if me, the irresponsible dog mom forgot to make a booking at my usual lol *STORE REVIEW* This pet store is clean and big. We usually go to smaller local pet stores but only come here for the bigger or newer times they don't carry. So pet smart is last resort we go to. Last week was the first time I've ever came to this location. But we decided on buying a pet mouse. We made sure we got everything a mouse needed. And asked the employee is everything we had purchase was good. He said yes. I asked a few questions. Like how old was the mouse, and if they needed to eat some veggies or anything. He said no and that their food is good enough. He didn't really give us much info. But I bought whatever I thought was best for our little new pet. Anyways, we went ahead and picked out our new pet. And waited for him to pack him up. We waited for him for about 10-20 mins and to find out he went on and helped someone else! Never even bother to let us know that our pet mouse was sitting at the register waiting for us. How rude! The only reason we didn't ask was because he told us "I'll put him in a box and be right back." I didn't like that he left us hanging. This is where it gets bad. We only had our pet mouse for 5 days! And that poor thing died. My niece had told me before she went and took a nap she played with him and he looked fine. We made sure he had enough water and food supply. Bedding was clean, and the cage was warm. I went ahead and looked it up on google that a mice could die suddenly without any warnings. It could look fine one day and die the next. Most times they will die because of old age. A mouse life span could be 1-3 years. I just wished pet smart didn't sell me a mouse that was already old! Or he was sick all this time at the pet store and ended up dying. And the last part it was us. We would never know. read more

(If you do this, flag down an associate to pick up your order in case there is a line at the register, you don't want to get stuck waiting) - if you buy online and pick up in store, most items have a 5% discount for doing so! -You can also check availability of the product you're looking for online - they have a PetSmart app where you can play games and earn coupons, create a pet profile for your little one, and even get birthday presents for your special babies! This was my first visit to a Petsmart. I found the Christmas treats and toys by myself, with no help offered by any gloomy associate. As I made my way to the register with my 3 Christmas treats, this rude cashier (#621526) asks if I have a rewards program. I reply "No can I start one?" and he has the nerve to mumble "I have to go to lunch soon." I'm in disbelief and say "Excuse me??" then he turns all quiet as he types in my information. I don't know what his problem was, but don't come to work if you can't keep it professional. After experiencing such sh*tty service I don't want to come back! Grooming salon. Poor customer service. They try to overcharge you for add-ons you didn't even ask for. They also do not provide the full service. Half-ass groomers. Animal neglect. Never coming back here again. read more

I was totally excited when petsmart announced they were opening another location near my neighborhood! Now I don't have to drive so far to mililani. Well I'm giving this location 2 stars only. This location being only about a month old the staff weren't very friendly or helpful. Not one of them even greeted me or my dog. Cashier was the only person to be seen at the front door and not even a "Hello" or "Welcome to petsmart" a couple sales associates were around but not even asking any of the guests including myself if they had any questions or help looking for something. The store is very spacious and well organized but the staff need to WAKE UP!! Its the holiday season they need to be more attentive and friendly! At least FAKE it til you Make it!! Anyway all I bought were 2 Christmas outfits for my pup. Was gonna buy some dog food and treats but I'll just rack up my points at Petco beretania instead where the staff are actually friendly and readily available for help. I don't even have to go hunting for an associate they are always there asking each guests if they need some assistance. Pet Smart's manager Spencer Sahagun (sp?) goes out of his way with his outstanding customer service! He should be commended for it.

First time at this store and it's very clean. Workers are kind and helpful but a little slow at the register so bring aloha and patience :) Easy returns and great customer service in person and on the phone. The store is clean and they have a wonderful selection of food, treats, Toys, clothes, and more! I will definitely be making the drive back down to come to this store. read more
