We had taken our car to Encore across the parking lot to get repaired. I didn't even realize that they had a fish shop here until I saw the sign. The door was cracked open, so I peeked in. The whole shop was filled with fishes and fish paraphernalia. They had a huge variety of fishes, not just betta. I asked the worker how much the cheapest betta fish was and he replied that it was $10. The fish that caught my eye was the Silver Arowana $50. It was more on the expensive side, but they also have fishes for $5.
Location has changed since I last came here. Website still says 1015 Dillingham Blvd. Suite #1200 but it's actually 1007 Dillingham Blvd Unit #106. It'll be on your right side when you enter the parking area. Stalls 48 and 49 are reserved for customers. They're still under construction. It was pretty dark and the floor was wet when I went so be careful. Staff seemed more welcoming last time I visited but lots of fish and supplies to look through. Some have health check signs and some also have information signs.
Very passionate, knowledgeable, and prioritise the health of the fish..!! Tons of variety and staff can answer 99% of the questions you could have about a tank. I go here like a second Waikiki aquarium. :)
Always love coming to this shop for my tropical fish needs. They have a huge assortment of all types of fish, fish food, plants and aquarium ornaments. The staff know their fish, including care and eating habits. They know which fish are compatible with others and can tell immediately if the fish is sick or diseased. If they do spot one, they will quarantine the entire tank and not sell the fish. Very responsible management. They make the purchase easy by ordering online and they let you know when you can come to their shop to pick up. Now that pet stores are closing down, it's really great to have a source to come to for my aquatic needs. Looking forward to my platys with the Mickey Mouse markings!
I bought multiple buces before but it still irritates me since they all had root rot. They left in stagnant water too long and should know to take better care. Gave two stars cuz staff is friendly and the fish worked out but when you spend a lot on buce which is a relatively hardy plant and they all die it's pretty sickening
My family is fish fanatics. I was searching for fish, pet store and this high rated store came up on Yelp. It's a pet store inside an antique warehouse across from Honolulu Community College. Currently, there are some road work so be patient if you plan to visit here. When you turn into the warehouse, be sure to turn right and the store will be right in front and you can park in front of the store. The staff are friendly and very helpful. You can tell they are also fish fanatics too. Be sure to follow their Instagram accounts for latest fish and updates. If you like Ranchu goldfish or lion head goldfish, they have them. They also have lots of water plants and lots of beta fish.
What a wonderful gem of a fish store with friendly, knowledgeable staff! Can't beat the biz name ha!
We went exploring and this fish store is amazing with their Betta fish. They all have different set ups and it's better than tiny cups!
Ordered online because I live on Maui. Received a text that few items I ordered was no longer in stock and I chose the wrong shipping method. Was refunded and shipping prices adjusted; recommended another aquarium plant that was similar to what was not in stock. Sounds good! Took a couple weeks due to a holiday, but plants arrived the next day after being shipped. Nice healthy plants and packed well. Appreciate the great communication, quick responses, and amazing plants. Def will order again! Mahalo!

We really enjoyed this place! So much so, my son visited two days in a row. Quietly tucked away in Kalihi, we weren't sure what to expect. We found so many variety of fish, especially our cute Pea Puffers! Reasonably priced, AMAZING customer service, and a great gem in Kalihi for any fish lover! read more

Been a returning customer for about 2 years now. Very knowledgeable about the stuff they sell and their store policies are probably the best out there. Set up a few fish tanks with fish and plants from them. The pictures are of the most recent one that I set up, just went about a week ago for some plants. read more

Purchased my samurai betta from MastahBetta in July and he's thriving. The employees were very helpful when discussing plants and potential tank mates for later if I add any. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a gorgeous betta! read more

My family and I went here to get some fishes! We are fish enthusiasts and were super amazed by the collection they had. All the bettas were such beautiful colors, I wouldn't be able to find any of these bettas at normal pet stores such as petco/petsmart. They also had female bettas! Which was really rare to find! People rarely sell female bettas. I was also amazed by the flower horn fishes they have. We grew up with a flower horn fish for 4-5 years. It was the smartest fish we ever had. It enjoyed head pets and did flips. I was surprised to see such a collection of flower horns. We enjoy the pre-made tanks which was easy to put our new bettas in! We will come again just to look at more fish! Haha with the large collection of bettas we might end up getting more when we come in! read more
