Ever since buying from Mastah Betta I've never purchased one that wasn't healthy or required tx even a month or two(just to give a timeline) from purchase. And that's really something when u you have a balanced established tank going. Also they are honest. Even the usual daytime caretaker, who appears quiet, knows his fish well & is very honest. Always love coming to this shop for my tropical fish needs. They have a huge assortment of all types of fish, fish food, plants and aquarium ornaments. The staff know their fish, including care and eating habits. They know which fish are compatible with others and can tell immediately if the fish is sick or diseased. If they do spot one, they will quarantine the entire tank and not sell the fish. Very responsible management. Location has changed since I last came here. Website still says 1015 Dillingham Blvd. Suite #1200 but it's actually 1007 Dillingham Blvd Unit #106. It'll be on your right side when you enter the parking area. Stalls 48 and 49 are reserved for customers. They're still under construction. It was pretty dark and the floor was wet when I went so be careful. Staff seemed more welcoming last time I visited but lots of fish and supplies to look through. Gave two stars cuz staff is friendly and the fish worked out but when you spend a lot on buce which is a relatively hardy plant and they all die it's pretty sickening read more

The most diverse fish store I have ever been to on Oahu. I used to frequent Petland before they closed down for my fish and aquarium needs. These guys have the biggest range of freshwater fish and plants that I know of. They are knowledgeable and helpful with any questions regarding what species are compatible or not. Parking is limited, but haven't had a problem getting a spot when I have gone to the store. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for unique additions to your waterworld at home. This is my absolute FAVORITE fish store ever!!! My boyfriend and I heard about this place a couple of years ago from Instagram. We saw the name of the shop and thought it was hilarious, so we decided to check it out. It is located in Kalihi...right across Honolulu Community College. It's in a tan two-story building with lots of parking below and above. The first couple of times we visited, we got a chance to meet the owner. He is a young and friendly local guy who knows literally EVERYTHING about fish. He is informative and he also is super responsive. Within the past couple of months, I have contacted him through Instagram several times asking about a certain fish I was looking for. Every single time I received a response NO LATER than 24 hours...sometimes within even an hour of when I asked a question! Today we visited the shop and we were helped by Ham. From the moment we walked in, Ham was super helpful and very informative about various fishes' living environments, feeding, and which fish got along with each other. Honestly, I do not know too much about fish and I asked ukubillion questions, but Ham never made me feel like I was a bother or dumb for not knowing or asking too much. It was actually him that made the shopping experience worthwhile and more fun! In the end, we went home with 10 Pea Pufferfish and some frozen bloodworms. If it wasn't for Ham and his knowledge and help, our fishtank would still be empty. My family and I went here to get some fishes! We are fish enthusiasts and were super amazed by the collection they had. All the bettas were such beautiful colors, I wouldn't be able to find any of these bettas at normal pet stores such as petco/petsmart. They also had female bettas! Which was really rare to find! People rarely sell female bettas. I was also amazed by the flower horn fishes they have. We grew up with a flower horn fish for 4-5 years. It was the smartest fish we ever had. It enjoyed head pets and did flips. I was surprised to see such a collection of flower horns. We enjoy the pre-made tanks which was easy to put our new bettas in! We will come again just to look at more fish! Haha with the large collection of bettas we might end up getting more when we come in! read more

I saw this shop being advertised on Instagram and thought I'd stop by on my way home. Lots of beautiful fish and cute accessories for the tank. There was even a kiddie game for the keiki! I purchased three female bettas to place in my planted tank with some other fish and lots of hiding spots so they can all have some privacy. They're getting along great and with a bit of consistency they know when it's time to eat and will come swimming to the front of the tank.
