I've called him on several occasions in a panic and he's always able to offer a solution over the phone or come to my house to fix the problem in a very timely matter. He's reliable and trustworthy. He doesn't try to overcharge you or suggest superfluous services. But rest assured, he is very good at his job. I have a 4x4 koi pond with a waterfall. The previous owners jerry-rigged the pump and the connections were iffy frequently requiring this amateur koi caretaker to venture into the slippery pond to further jerry-rig the contraception. Two years of this agonizing adventure, often punctuated with lacerated knees from slipping, resulted in a reduced waterfall flow, which was akin to a water trickle. The filtration system was not adequate given the decreased flow and it began to look nastier by day. I call it "gunk" for a lack of a scientific term-- that green/yellow debris of rotting leaves, fish poop, bird excrements and other joyful things. The gunk was fast becoming a creature of its own and needless to say, I lacked professional knowledge to get rid of this putrid creature. Also, I had several koi disappear over time and, after naming them after 007 Bond Villains, ran out of names after losing Blofed, Goldfinger, Dr. No, (oh no!), the list goes on. When I contacted Ty, I was heart-broken and somewhat frustrated with this pond business. I almost wished that I listened to my husband and fill it with rocks and stick a Tiki on it instead. I found Ty on Yelp desperately and contacted him right on the app. Ty quickly got me in during a convenient time for me and showed up right on time. He took one look at a pic of our murdered fish and said "herons, very intelligent birds" and suggested casting a net over to protect them. He went to work, first draining the pond and picking out mounds of rocks. I know how difficult it is to keep balance in that cylindrical pond but Ty navigated the pond without slipping once. Then the fun part began--the water vacuum sucked out the gunk--so satisfying. it was the same satisfaction one might feel popping a zit perhaps. Then he found the missing connection in the pond and reconnected the pump with zest, using hot water to soften the tube to make a tight fit. I turned the pump back on and Voila! the waterfall gave a boisterous burp then the water fell in in a robust manner, just a bit less robust than the Niagara falls. I will stop by his shop to grab butterfly Koi after I install a net. Also, I'm going to name them after Disney Princesses per Ty's recommendation starting with Elsa and Mulan. read more

After seeing the good Yelp reviews, gave Ty's a call to help me with my koi pond pump. Fantastic response and service! My Koi pond has been losing water for a while and I had been adding more water daily to keep it topped off. After looking around the pond, pipes, and pumps, found a leak in the main pump that was causing the water loss. On a Thursday afternoon, I called Ty's and sent him pictures of the pump and where I found the water leaking. He called me back that day and said he had a replacement pump and could come the next day(Friday) to replace the leaking pump. Unfortunately, I had some appointments the next day and asked him if he could come on Monday instead since I had a backup pump to switch over to in the meantime. On Monday, he came at the scheduled time and removed the old pump and installed the new one in an hour. The new 1/4 HP pump is more efficient than the old 1/3 HP one, moving the same volume of water but using less electricity. I am very pleased with Ty's responsiveness and good service. Will continue to use him in the future. read more
