Overall really positive and easy experience! My dog had gotten into mud and was a mess. We are close by so I made a same day appointment last minute right online. Full price was $74 which isn't bad but I had gotten $20 off as a first time customer. We saw Bianca and she did a really great job! Since my dog was truly a mess I thought it would be a while, but she was only there about 1 1/2 hours. Zero rating. I brought my dog at the Hanover PS today just for toe nails. He had been getting his nails done there for about 7 years. He's 9 years old. Usually we had a pretty good experience. The last 2 times he had a groomer named Brittany. She seemed annoyed and said she remembered my dog from last time. I gave her information that my dog broke his toe as a pup and is very sensitive with that foot. He was in a cast too long and his bone in his leg is a little malformed. Also, he is a very anxious dog. Well after today with his experience with Brittany he is even worse. I usually just go out and pay while he's getting it done and when I went back in she yelled at me to go wait outside. They had my baby with a cone on and he was petrified. Like a child sometimes when pets see their owner they react so I entrusted her even though my gut instinct was to stay and went outside the door. Almost immediately the second girl trying to help came out with him and said they can't take him again unless I medicate him before he comes because he was so scared he expressed his anal glands and it got on Brittany's shirt. If medication doesn't work he would be banned. She also said Brittany was having a bad day all around. They didn't finish his nail cutting. They blamed it on his behavior while in the harness with a cone on which made him even more anxious. Other groomers besides Brittany cut his toe nails just fine. They did need 2 groomers, one tapping on his head for distraction and the other cutting. He always did fine until they had to do his leg that had the broken toe as a pup. I feel that Brittany traumatized and made my dog even more anxious about getting his nails trimmed. I always trusted the other groomers and would leave the room to go pay. I would NEVER suggest anyone to leave if their dog is anxious. I also would not let Brittany do the grooming. Brittany is supposed to be trained to handle dogs. She obviously didn't know what she was doing and/or was annoyed from the beginning. She should care about the pets put in her care. She was having a bad day all around and took it out on my dog and made it way worse for him. Shame on you Brittany. Maybe you shouldn't be working with animals. read more

The store itself is 4-5 stars all around- stock levels and customer service on point. BUT I cannot bring myself to leave more than one star due to my experience in the salon. Not only was it a bad grooming experience but Corinne in the salon is quite literally the most miserable person I've interacted with and should not be working in customer service let alone working with precious pets. Her attitude and demeanor belongs in a back room somewhere far away from people and their pets. I will gladly be driving 20 additional minutes for pet food to never step foot in here again. I wish there was a place for NO stars. I brought my dog here after not being able to get into our regular groomer. I should have known better. We have a large breed dog so they said it would take three hours. After 3 1/2 hours and no phone call I decided to just show up. They said she was very matted and not in good shape" This was a surprise to me. Just the day before she had been to the vet and they didnt say anything. I told them the dog was fine. She asked if we ever brushed our dog - which we do. I was insulted, but none the less I left. Almost two hours later we got a call that they couldnt not finish the haircut because our dog is violent. Now, she had been there for five hours. Our dog has been to other groomers and we have NEVER had any issues. Not only are the people who work here beyond capable but they were downright rude. This review is mainly about the grooming center at this location. Your hours are posted 7am-9pm on a Saturday. So I was shocked when I arrived at 7am to find that no one was around to service my pet. I had to sit and wait until 9am for the whole store to open for anyone to stroll in for their job that opened 2 hours prior. Then I'm greeted rudely by the girl behind the desk. If the hours that are posted on the door and online aren't accurate something needs to be done about that. read more

I had made an appointment to have my 2 dogs to be groomed here. They are both large breed dogs- my girl is1 year old (85lbs and climbing) and my boy is 12 years old (100lbs). This is during covid so the literal only way I could make the appointment was online, they were not answering the phones. I got an error message when I made the appointment for my older dog, so I called to make sure it went through. It took them a few days to get back to me and when they did they confirmed that the appointment went through and they'd see me soon. 45 minutes before my appointment I receive a phone call from one of the people who works in the groomer. She said: 1- We can't do your older dog's appointment today bc the groomer who you booked with isn't in today. I don't even know why the system allowed you to book with her. 2- I see a note in your file that your dog can't stand so we can't groom him due to social distancing rules. Not only had I called to confirm that appointment went through weeks prior, but I had mentioned that my 12 year old dog has arthritis so to be careful when lifting hind legs. I GUESS THAT TRANSLATES TO HE CAN'T STAND. So apparently the person I spoke to had placed an alert on the account?!?! Saying my dog can't stand, which is NOT WHAT I SAID. I explained that I had confirmed the appointment weeks ago and that my dog can stand but that's certainly 4 hours straight of standing is a long time for a 100lb 12 year old dog. The woman then acted like she was doing me a favor and said if I can get to the appointment in 20 minutes she will try to do him but will turn him away if he can't stand. I live 30 minutes from the groomer and was literally in the shower when she called since the appointment was in 45 minutes! So, obviously that wasn't happening. I ended up only taking my 1 year old dog and not the 12 year old and honestly I didn't even want to take her but because of covid and groomers being shut down for months she needed a groom badly. They charged me $120 and my dog came home still having mats behind her ears and other things I ended up having to cut off myself. Not worth the time, effort, stress, or money. Who calls someone 45 minutes prior to an appointment to cancel then shows zero signs of understanding that that is obnoxious?! Due to the alert the person placed on my account, I called the plymouth petsmart where my dog has gone before and they wouldn't even give me the time of day. I asked to speak with the person who has groomed him prior to have her change the alert because she knows he can in fact stand and the girl wouldn't let me speak to her. I have been going to various petsmart grooming salons for 12 years and after this experience I will never ever go again, and I will try to deter anyone I know from going here as well. My mother in law recently found a cat she wanted to adopt at Petsmart in Hanover from paws4survival rescue. She filled out an application & purchased multiple items for a cat. Day after day, week after week, she went to see the cat daily, but she was not receiving any calls or emails on the adoption. The Petsmart manager finally gave her a contact at paws4survival, but her calls all went to a filled Mailbox. I had been hearing about this for weeks & yesterday I sent a email inquiry to paws4survival, but I told them if I did not hear from them by Friday, I would be calling the MSPCA for them Abandoning a cat in a cage at a pet store, where People want to adopt. I received an immediate response & they told me that the Petsmart manager said, my mother in law questioned their $250 adoption fee as being high, so the paws princess said, she wouldn't give a cat to someone who didn't referred to a cat as a inanimate object. I find the Paws4survival a poorly run organization, and their reviews reflect that, but I am outraged that the Pet Smart manager strung a 81 year old women along for weeks considering the Manager eliminated her as a Candidate for the cat day 1. Did the female manager giggle every time the women showed up to see the cat? If I owned this Petsmart, the first improvement would be a manager who respects their clientele read more

I wish a "0 star" was an option. Never bringing my dog back after 2 grooming visits. Each time they called complaining about my dog, and not finishing the service. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and brought him back the second time. The first time they shaved his body but left his legs and head uncut... then second service they called and told me they got really busy that is why he was there for 4 hours for just a bath, then to find out they didn't fully dry him due to "him not liking it"... truly disappointed, and would never recommend anyone to go here. read more

Strictly based on the grooming here, I absolutely LOVE them! I take my little Maltese mix to get groomed by Melissa. Not only does she do a fabulous job but you can truly tell that she cares about these pets. One time my little man was experience some skin issues and she was super helpful with some tips to ease his pain. I wont go to any other groomer ever! I typically use the Braintree locations for grooming but noticed how many more appointments they had at the Hanover location. Plus it was 10 minutes from my house. His appointment was at 8am. They have appointments as early as 7 am even though they open at 9am. My Yorkshire terrier got the basic growing with top spaw, which is mini facial for your dog. Everything coming to $67. My dog looks great! They did forget my dogs collar but when I was shopping after his appointment I noticed it was missing. A sales associate grabbed it for me once I noticed. Went in here to buy some products for our guinea pigs. Beware of what you buy here! We saw food products that contain honey and even yogurt, which are not part of a guinea pig's diet, and can make them sick. We asked the cashier if honey and dairy are good for guinea pigs, and she said that they were, despite the research that clearly shows that guinea pigs are lactose intolerant, and honey can cause digestive problems. My girlfriend is also very knowledgeable about guinea pigs, since she's had them for most of her life, and she was the one who noticed that these food products contained these ingredients. I would not trust this place to provide safe products for your pets. I feel sorry for the animals they sell here! read more

I brought my puppy here after I have brought her to another salon a couple times. The groomers wouldn't cut her hair at our other salon and her hair was so long it kept matting. After looking around I got a couple positive recommendations for the Hanover PetSmart. I had low expectations going into it because I figured my puppy wouldn't sit and they wouldn't be able to cut her hair like the last salon. I asked for it to be the shortest they could get it. I am beyond thrilled with the outcome. She did an amazing job! I would defiantly recommend bringing your animals to be groomed here. This place has zero understanding of reptiles they house 4 animals In a under 10 gallon tank which is abuse and then they have these crazy rules about u can't even look at the animals before u buy them .u just have to blindly be like I WANT THIS! . So u could be buying a sick crested gecko or any kind of reptile and not know what they look like or if they are sick or have MBD . I bought 2 crested geckos from here last year not only were they skinny .they also had kinked tails which can be corrected but will always be there cause they weren't fed proper diets at the store . I hope they will correct the enclosure size . at least petco being as bad as they are too have enclosures 3x the size with some over crowding but this place they could careless the animals can't get away from each other if they fight . They just die or never get food And it's very sad .. they give rodents massive cages but can't dish out the money to give the reptiles the same amount of space .but even the rodents suffer here too .. don't bother buy any animals from here they don't see them as living breathing creatures .they are just objects and don't matter if they live or die or suffer from improper care. i had a terrible first and last experience here. i loved the brockton petsmart grooming, but ever since they shut down i was hesitant to try another petsmart location, but I decided to give hanover a try i set an appointment for my cat about a month and a half ago, since they were booked and only did cat grooming on mondays. today, i went in and i saw so many dogs in the grooming area, but i had assumed that cats were taken elsewhere. i dropped off my pet and left, then approximately 45 mins later, i get a phone call telling me that my cat would not come out of his cage and that he was upset about there being so many dogs and he wouldn't let them get him out. and that next time, i should book an early morning appointment. i was so mad because first of all, my cat gets so stressed and scared having to leave the house and for him not to have gotten groomed really made me feel horrible. secondly, why would there be so many dogs booked on the one day allowed for cat grooming and why wasn't i made aware of morning appointments being better in terms of dog presence. i would not recommend, waste of a far drive. read more

I drove approximately 30 minutes with traffic to get this location , only to be denied service upon arrival. The client that was being seen before me they treated kind and courteous and t engaged with there pet . However when I brought my little feisty chihuahua. I was not greeted nor did they bother take the time to get familiar wit him. The were very unprofessional and a heavy set lady in the back denied service and was very rude. I barely want to give them 1 star. This place needs to higher more professional and skilled workers that know how to handle all varieties of animals. read more

I love this petsmart. It's always clean, good selection of toys, food and apparel. Some employees are duds but you'll find those in every establishment. I come here a couple times a month with my dog and she always seems to enjoy our visits. They have a great toy selection and at good prices- especially after a holiday when the seasonal toys go on clearance. My dog has no idea who Dracula or Santa is- I'll most certainly pay $2.99 for a toy originally $7.99 bc the season has passed and she's playing with Santa in March. It's a damn dog toy! The apparel here is the best selection around for colors and sizes. I tend to go a little clothes crazy having a 16# dog to keep warm in winter. In fact I just bought her two new fleeces today here. Feeling a loss of trust of the current staff of groomers, aside from Taylor, at PetSmart Hanover. I was apalled to learn that my cousin, who also entrusts this team to groom and care for her canine family member, was ostrasized and aggressively insulted, because she simply called to ask when her dog would be ready to be picked up. PetSmart's grooming employee replied, when asked about pickup time, "how should I know?" Ok, my cousin was a bit put off, but she's reasonable and compassionate and gave the rude employee the benefit of the doubt (we all have our bad days) and politely ended the call. But, the employee didn't realize, she did not hang the phone up property, and she announced to the whole team that Ella's mom is a rea b*tch and said " can you believe this b*tch mother?" The other employees jumped on board with the toxic employee, critisized my cousin, called her profanities, as well. My cousin has been a loyal customer to this store for over 10 years. Neither she, nor any customer, for that matter, should ever be subjected to such abusive behavior. This level of disrespect is intolerable and no place of business , especially one that is rooted in the health and care of innocent, living beings. Would anyone trust this person / team with their children, their elderly parents ? Same standards should apply for our animal loved ones. This is inexcusable. I visited PetSmart today by accident, thinking it was PetCo. Since I was there I decided to go in and see what it was like. I had never been to a PetSmart before and I was impressed. The store was so clean, and of the 6-7 employees that worked there, every single one came up to me with a smile and asked if I needed help. Some people don't necessarily like this, but it was probably pretty clear that I needed help finding what I was looking for! The aisles are well stocked, well lit, and the whole store had a calm shopping environment. Donna at the checkout gave me some amazing advice for training our new puppy. This was my favorite place to get my dog groomed until the groomer I liked left. The next two times my dog got groomed by someone new, they did a terrible job--feet uneven, ears and face choppy as if using dull scissors. So I went elsewhere for the past year and loved it, however my schedule has made it tough to get there, so I thought to give PetSmart a try again. BIG MISTAKE. One side of the face is clearly longer than the other, the ears are straggly and feet not neat. My dog is 9 pounds and pretty mellow, so there is no excuse for the poor job. Can't say I didn't give them another chance, though this will be the last time. On top of everything else, the customer service was non-existent, the place chaotic and pee was all over one corner of the grooming area. Not good. read more

Do not go here. Our dog was left unattended and somehow injured his paw, requiring surgery and stitches. He was bleeding badly. They transported him to Roberts Animal Hospital, where he is still being treated. We have since found out he is not the only one this happened to. To make it worse, they only paid for his initial vet bill, and have refused to pay for his follow up treatment. The groomer herself was very apologetic, however the manager we spoke to was extremely rude, just saying "we will not be paying for this". If you care about your pet you would not leave them here. read more
