Heritage does a great job! Typically wash my guy on my own to save money, but Heritage is affordable and does a WAY better job than me. Marty smells good for days after going here. Do not go here under any circumstances. We took our 2 year old golden retriever here because our usual groomer was booked out too far. We made an appointment for 9 am, brought her in, but it was 11:30 and we still hadn't heard anything. In our previous experience, it does not take nearly as long. I called around 11:30 and was told that something had happened with my dog, she may have pulled her nails off in the cage, was bleeding and probably needed to be seen at the vet. Now I'm no dog care expert, but I would think that if a new dog had injured themselves at my establishment, I'd probably give the owners a call and let them know. Not here at Heritage, they just let the dog bleed until the owner calls. I drove right over and to my surprise, my dog walked out actively bleeding with no attempt at any care or bandages. I was told she was mostly fine but supervised and there was DEFINITELY nothing sharp in the cage. That struck me as odd because I hadn't asked about the cage at all. Whatever caused this injury either took a long time and should have been noticed sooner or there was something sharp in the cage. On the 5 minute drive home, my dog bled all over the back seats of my car. Once home I bandaged her as best as I could and drove over to the emergency vet. I apologized for my dog bleeding all over their lobby and they took her right back. She did not rip her nails out at all, she had lacerations on both front paws. They put her on antibiotics, painkillers, and tranquilizers. I had to go back later that night because she bled through the bandages the first time. After 5 trips to the vet, almost 2 weeks, and countless hours driving back and forth and in the waiting room, the bandages are finally off. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that they paid for the vet bill that their neglect caused in the first place. These pictures are after the bandages came off. Hmm, I don't know about watering but my dog was wicket thirsty when she got home. If it was my dog, not only did she look different but she acted really different. This outgoing LOUD fun loving dog was transformed into a nervous nelly, hiding behind furniture, not coming when called, just lying around in seclusion. It's been 4 days and she is just starting to recover. The oner says it must be do to her having tight mats, that are now gone. Maybe but wouldn't she feel BETTER, not hiding out as if she had be exposed to severe trauma? I called, I asked and heard what I figured I would. "she was fine". Best dog groomers around! My dog dragged me in and he always smells good for weeks after! Couldn't recommend them enough

We have been going to heritage kennels for grooming for over 20 years. Dawn was the owner and when she passed her son Michael took over. We were always happy. This past weekend our son was getting married so we needed our beautiful 1 year old to be be boarded and groomed for 2 nights. When we picked her up she fell twice . I asked why is this- and Michael said I guess from being in the cage. When she came home she drank a ton of water and threw it all up. From then on she was very week, and we called heritage. We were told well she didn't drink and eat much as they thought she was just nervous. She went outside good but didn't really want to come back in. I asked did you just pull her in and they said well basically. We fed her water with a water dropper and hoped that with our love and food and water she would be much improved by the Mornong. Sadly she died overnight and my husband found her early morning . This MUST not happen to any other dogs . We took her for a physical and she was deemed in great health. Which we pretty much knew. No heart, neurological - nothing . I have been crying for 2 days straight and even the owner said there are no cameras where they board them. And strangely Saturday night of our dogs second night they posted that they wouldn't be boarding anymore. I really wish that the owner would just look at all cameras and please tell us what may have happened. He is not a mean person but I feel somebody knows something Believe me the one star is because they won't let you do none read more

I had originally found this lovely place through Groupon and I have been forever grateful! Amazing, hardworking, and friendly staff! They are kind and helpful! I had boarded my Yorki Poo for I believe, eight days and also asked for grooming! Clean and neat kennels and space for the animals to move around! My dog was groomed neatly and gently. Even though I live all the way in Dorchester I will be sure to take the drive out there every time for all my grooming and boarding needs ! Please don't be afraid to check them out ! This place is a little small, which gave me reservations, but they were able to fit my dog into a tight schedule, and it looked very clean, so I tried it. I was so pleasantly surprised by the wonderful job that was done! My dog went in quite overgrown, and as as she is a very soft-coated Wheaten Terrier, she often mats up. Michael did an AMAZING job brushing her out well and gave her the perfect impeccable cut! She smells fantastic and they were sure to avoid all the older dog bumps she has developed (the last groomer nicked one), and cut her nails well too. All for a reasonable price. Heritage Kennel was the worst place I've ever taken my 2 dogs to be groomed. First of all the place was filthy, secondly, one of my dogs was cut so close to the skin she needed to be taken to the vets. I demanded my money back from them for hurting my dog and doing an unprofessional job. I received the money back for the dog they hurt. NEVER AGAIN WILL MY DOGS GO TO HERITAGE KENNELS for grooming. Worst experience my dogs probably ever went through being groomed. If I could give a half a star, that's what I'd give that company. read more

This kennel groomed our Chesapeake Bay Retriever since she was a puppy. She passed at 16 this past year. She always was very happy walking into Heritage and that says a lot. They were always kind and patient with her as she got older, suffering with DM. The grooming was excellent and she always came out smelling and looking great. Took my happy go lucky golden retriever here once to be groomed. We will never return. She had a large laceration behind her ear which we were not notified of. It was so severe that she had a thick scab for weeks. She used to love going to the groomers, now we have to drag her in, it's really sad. I have a german shepherd/black lab mix, with wolf in his bloodlines as well. He has an affinity for romping through all the reeking despicable parts of Pembroke, including swamps, lakes, cranberry bogs, and his personal favorite, rolling on dead fish that he either catches or that wash up by the lake. Being nothing more than floof that has developed a respiratory system, one can imagine how much gunk and unspeakable stinks his fur collects. This is why Heritage Kennels gets five stars. I can bring him in there unholy smelly and dirty, and they groom him down to the dapper gentleman that I raised him to be. Quick, reasonably priced, and just EXCELLENT at what they do. He comes out cleaned, clipped, trimmed, and always with a complementary bandana (ADORBS.) They've even flea dipped him the few summers (read: EVERY summer) that he has gotten inevitably flea-infested. These guys are great, I wouldn't trust my pup to anyone else. read more
