Like many other businesses, Grooming Magic has to close abruptly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They were great about keeping those of us with canceled bookings in the loop about reopening dates and called us as soon as they had firm dates to reschedule our dog's appointment. They've implemented a full set of controls to reduce the risk of transmission, including requiring a check or exact change for payment to limit contact. The staff at Grooming Magic know that pets are family members and they are exceedingly good to those families who trust them with their animals. When we had a death in the family a number of years ago they squeezed us in for a last-minute appointment and they were kind enough to send flowers. What pet groomer does that? Grooming Magic, that's who!

The prices are in line with others in the area so it's not outrageous and you can tell that all the dogs here are very happy. Spiro knows all his customers (the pups) by name and is a very open and honest man. I always confer with him about everything from leashes to preventative care (he knows the breed) to training.

We took a…read morecouple of day trips and noticed how scared the pup (Maddie) was of other dogs despite living with 2 other dogs. I also knew that it was inevitable that I would be going back to the office. The pup is a Husky and would need a lot of exercise. I learned about The Barker House while visiting a local convenience store the next town over and thought I would give them a call due to location. Amber arranged a time where Maddie our Husky could spend a few hours there for her trial. We took Maddie to The Barker House for a week before her Spay was scheduled. Amber had texted me the day of Maddie's surgery to see how it went and how she was doing. Maddie had some complications and actually wasn't doing well. Amber genuinely cared and was concerned for our pup that'd she only known for a week or so. I woke up the next morning with a gift from Amber/The Barker house for Maddie at my front door. I think we had planned to have Maddie at a daycare a few times a week. But every morning Maddie wakes us up with excitement. She knows she is going to her favorite place in the entire world, which is the Barker house. If there are any delays in this process Maddie in typical Husky fashion howls, sings, and talks back with all the sass that she needs to be at The Barker House! NOW!! We take all of our dogs (King Charles Cavalier and Shepard Mix) there for grooming and baths and they do an amazing job! Maddie also attended their training classes and they were excellent. We also have a trip coming up soon and we'll be boarding all 3 dogs with The Barker House. We also like the personal touch of Amber texting us pictures of Maddie throughout the day to see what a great doggie day she's having. All the employees are super friendly and the facility is always very clean. We highly recommend The Barker House!

Karen knows dogs, I think she even speaks dog. The best thing is that they are always there and you know when you bring your dog in, you know who you will get every time. This is not so true at other groomers especially the big box stores. They always have a new person. Dogs like people like to have the same person cut their hair consistently. Hank seemed to like it there, I could tell that Amy lined him, and he looked great so we'll see how the next few go! They use all very high quality soaps and shampoos. They seem to care very much about the dogs here. Prices are reasonable ($47 for wash, nails, teeth, blow dry on a 88 lb. Greater Swiss Mountain dog mix (short and easy fur)). Took 1 hour 20 mins. While it wasn't "difficult" to make an appointment, they do book out several weeks out, don't answer their phone (call-backs only it seems), and have very limited supporting technology (website, reviews, etc.). If you can work around that I think you and your dog will like it here - my dog and I are very particular! Amy treated us very well.
