Didn't show up to consultation and didn't call. If she couldn't train him she should've called.

We particularly appreciated the lab work being done in the exam room to help calm our big anxious golden retriever. The follow up phone calls were great to keep us in the loop for results. I say with certainty after bringing Lulu here as a patient for checkups and diagnosing a serious health condition; after boarding her for multiple staycations (about 4 weeks in total); and after finally bringing her here to cross the Rainbow Bridge when it was time. She took a sharp downward turn, I made the decision and the staff was there for her, and for me. From the check-in at the front desk to Dr. Burke and his nurse we were treated with care, kindness and empathy. My sweet girl crossed gently. with dignity, and throughout the entire visit I also was treated kindly and thoughtfully. A handwritten condolence card arrived a few days later, acknowledging my loss, which still makes me tear up every time I look at it. When I'm ready - I don't know when that will be, but when I'm ready - my next best friend will be treated here too.

Just read a review from Katie McLaughlin from Quincy. If you take these reviews seriously, please…read moredo not let 1 NEGATIVE review tarnish the Happy Dog's excellent reputation (22 5 star reviews vs 1 1/2 neg). The circumstances Katie speaks of in regards to the care that Tawny received at Happy Dog is not worthy of such an unfair review. While I disagree with 99% of this review, I DO agree with Katie that she cannot blame Michelle or her staff for Tawny's injury. My dog has been going Happy Dog for daycare/ boarding for almost 4 years and I've never witnessed neglect or mistreatment of any of their clients. Michelle will NOT hesitate to call the client's owner's with questions/concerns as I can attest to. Michelle and Jaime have always had their clients best interest at heart just as if they were their own dogs (Michelle 3 Jamie 1). Katie states that they have only boarded their dogs twice in over a year, their first experience going very well (no review for that visit) for her 3 dogs. Let's not forget a few circumstances of the last visit. First, Tawny is 14 years young. What a wonderful and long life she is having, but let's face it, with age comes periodic incontinence, stiffness, tiredness, and other signs of slowing down, it happens in humans as well, especially with a herniated disc which if the disc is pressing on nerves can cause occasional leakage at times. Could it be that Katie missed some symptoms Tawny may have been experiencing with planning a wedding? Herniated discs can be symptomatic, depending on the severity and the animal's pain tolerance. Perhaps Tawny was in pain for a long period of time, but because of her high tolerance of pain it remained unnoticed by the owners? We all wish that our pets could tell us when they don't feel well so we can fix them, after all they are our family. Happy Dog is a business and rules need to be enforced in order to be successful. Structured play/down times and allotted pick up/drop off times. Michelle does not accept any client that is not a fit for Happy Dog. She is more than willing to work with families to fit their needs, and has always been accessible by text or phone. If Michelle doesn't' answer her phone, it's because she's doing her job or is busy with clients or families. Being over an hour late to drop off/pick up a pet without a phone call/text in this day and age is just rude. Could it be that with Mr. McLaughlin being late to arrive, did not have enough food for the dogs stay, that he may not have noticed any change in Tawny before she was dropped off? To say that Tawny was in a urinated crate for an entire day would NEVER happen! This is NOT the way Happy Dog operates. Perhaps Tawny was upset and depressed that her parents were going away, removing Tawny from her comfort zone, pets do that. Michelle and Jaime may not know Tawny as well as their regular clients but from Katie's review it sounds like Michelle was very a-tuned to Tawny who is considered a "senior" and she made Tawny as comfortable as she possibly could without complete knowledge of Tawny's background. Katie did not anticipate coming back to an ill dog, however the reality of it is that Tawny came to Happy Dog with a pre-existing condition which both the owners and Michelle were not unaware of. With all the animal cruelty abuse plastered in social media, grooming facility and dog daycare facility charged with pet deaths...these are the people and places that need honest reviews so that we can protect our pets. There was absolutely no mention of abuse or mistreatment happening in Katie McLaughlin's review of Happy Dog Pet Resort, although it was mentioned by an 3rd party acquaintance. I'm sure that the McLaughlin's were struggling with the fact that Tawny was in pain for many days prior to her stay Happy Dog Pet Resort and that they just didn't recognize the signs. Happy Dog is a huge facility with several gated yards for the dogs to play in. You can't beat the prices, the owner and staff or the peace of mind knowing that your dog is being loved and well cared for.

She let us know about nap time and was willing to accommodate anything he needed if he was not able to rest independently. (He did great and Michelle was on top of his need the first day). We were able to get in for an interview/temperament test within a week even around a holiday And once we passed, we able to start right away. The owner is very responsive to any questions or concerns you have. Her staff love the dogs and your furry friend gets a big hello upon arrival. Our pup comes home happy but tired and ready for cuddles and rest. Also, the packages they offer are extremely fair and worth it. Thank you Happy Dog!

Not only was it a bad grooming experience but Corinne in the salon is quite literally the most miserable person I've interacted with and should not be working in customer service let alone working with precious pets. Her attitude and demeanor belongs in a back room somewhere far away from people and their pets. I will gladly be driving 20 additional minutes for pet food to never step foot in here again. If you decide to use the salon - just make sure your appointment isn't with Corinne.

Zero rating. I brought my dog at the Hanover PS today just for toe nails. He had been getting his…read morenails done there for about 7 years. He's 9 years old. Usually we had a pretty good experience. The last 2 times he had a groomer named Brittany. She seemed annoyed and said she remembered my dog from last time. I gave her information that my dog broke his toe as a pup and is very sensitive with that foot. He was in a cast too long and his bone in his leg is a little malformed. Also, he is a very anxious dog. Well after today with his experience with Brittany he is even worse. I usually just go out and pay while he's getting it done and when I went back in she yelled at me to go wait outside. They had my baby with a cone on and he was petrified. Like a child sometimes when pets see their owner they react so I entrusted her even though my gut instinct was to stay and went outside the door. Almost immediately the second girl trying to help came out with him and said they can't take him again unless I medicate him before he comes because he was so scared he expressed his anal glands and it got on Brittany's shirt. If medication doesn't work he would be banned. She also said Brittany was having a bad day all around. They didn't finish his nail cutting. They blamed it on his behavior while in the harness with a cone on which made him even more anxious. Other groomers besides Brittany cut his toe nails just fine. They did need 2 groomers, one tapping on his head for distraction and the other cutting. He always did fine until they had to do his leg that had the broken toe as a pup. I feel that Brittany traumatized and made my dog even more anxious about getting his nails trimmed. I always trusted the other groomers and would leave the room to go pay. I would NEVER suggest anyone to leave if their dog is anxious. I also would not let Brittany do the grooming. Brittany is supposed to be trained to handle dogs. She obviously didn't know what she was doing and/or was annoyed from the beginning. She should care about the pets put in her care. She was having a bad day all around and took it out on my dog and made it way worse for him. Shame on you Brittany. Maybe you shouldn't be working with animals.
