Warning: if you are thinking of coming to Serenity, DON'T! You will regret it, and it's not worth the risk if you're particular about how you want your dog groomed. We have an eight month Cobberdog (Australian Labradoodle), who we took to Serenity yesterday for his third visit. The first two visits were their "puppy package"...which is trimming the bathroom areas, cutting nails, wash/brush/dry to get them used to the experience. We had the same groomer each time. She greeted our dog excitedly at the start of each session, and walked him out at the end to discuss with me how it went. The first time was great. The second time, she mentioned that she found a couple knots behind his ears, and I told her we had a hard time getting them out there. Later when I got home, I noticed that the knots were still there and his nails didn't really seem trimmed. I chalked it up to maybe her missing one or two. At both of our first two visits, even though he was only getting the puppy package, I stressed how we like the shaggy look and don't want his hair to be short/shaved ever. Yesterday was scheduled to be his first actual cut. The groomer met us as usual, and we discussed length. Again, I stressed multiple times that we want to keep it long, and wanted just a trim, no shaving. We agreed to about half of his current length. I pointed out that he still had some knots that we couldn't get out on his beard and behind his ears, and if those had to be cut out, that was fine. She let me know that since this was more than the puppy trim, it would take longer (the first appointments were about an hour to 90m). Four hours went by without hearing anything, so I called to check in. The groomer informed me that he was just up on her table now and it would be another 30 minutes. She mentioned that he had more knots than she originally thought, so she had to do a bit more than planned. When I arrived to pick him up, I didn't even recognize him. She shaved him from head to toe--and not even shaved well at that. The groomer never came out from the back of the salon as she always has to talk to me, and instead had two other women awkwardly check me out. They knew by my reaction that I wasn't happy. I left without saying a word. We wash and brush our dog weekly, and he did not have knots/matting all over his entire body. EVEN if they started the bathing and brushing and found that he did--it was their obligation as professionals to call me to discuss and see if I wanted him shaved. I would have declined and brought him somewhere else. They didn't do that, because they aren't professionals, they're hacks. Finding a good groomer is hard, steer clear of this place at all costs! read more

Everything. My poodle pup not a fan of big noises like driers but they manage very well to keep him so chill. He looks beautiful too, btw. They seem to genuinely love the dogs that come in there. Sorry for the negative review but I don't understand why a dog spa would open that discriminates against large dogs. I felt very betrayed when upon making an appointment for my precious Great Pyrenees I was turned away. Imagine if you went to a hair salon and they said sorry you are too big for this spa. Rude. They are good if you can get in for an appointment. I will update the review later but for now our 6 month old puppy needs a haircut bad and they can't get her in for a trim for about two months. Looks like we need to go elsewhere for now, maybe if things open up more later I can say they're great lol. I'm a bad dog mom. I used to be an awesome dog mom. Then I had a human baby and weeks (eek-months!) go by without remembering to clip my poor pup's nails. Enter: Serenity Dog Spa. They take walk ins for nail clipping. I called ahead just to check and they kindly said "Sure come on down!" For just $10 (and less than 10 minutes) my fur baby was no longer sporting dangerously long talons. I'll be back for the full grooming experience sometime soon. read more

This place is a like a spa for dogs! The owners and staff are super professional and not only do a great job washing and grooming the dogs but genuinely care about the animals. They also work to maintain the safety of the dogs while they are in their care. This place is an absolute jewel and can be found on Rt 123 in Norwell. Sorry if that sounded like a commercial but I drove almost 30 minutes to get there and heard of it through word of mouth. This place rocks!!! I wish I could give it an 11 read more

I brought my 8 month old Havanese puppy in for a haircut today and I am so so happy I found this place! It was recommended to me by a few people. My puppy doesn't love being groomed (he went somewhere else once before) and so I was so nervous about bringing him. He LOVED the woman who groomed him, was so excited when he got there, and seemed so happy when I picked him up! Such a relief to find such a great trustworthy groomer!! Last night, I had a dream - a Nightmare, if you will - in which Frederick Kreuger donned a nylon restraint, peed in my backyard, and then licked my face! And when I woke up... it was my dog. My very long-clawed dog, who desperately needed a nail trim. Luckily, Serenity Dog Spa is open on Saturdays, and accepts walk-ins. Hooray! Ten bucks and five minutes later, Kita is clickety-clacking no more on the wood floors, and with nary a drop of blood from the deep clips. Bonus: she got serenaded by her polite and proficient groomer. Turns out, the staff at Serenity not only handle nails like a collective champ, they'll bathe your pooch, give 'em a little splash of fur or claw color (non-toxic, totally washable), and perform canine reiki and massage! A true Spot spa, indeed. Don't expect a massive inventory of treats, accessories, or other pet products - this place is all about the service. And so far, the service is outstanding. However, the team at Serenity dog spa goes above and beyond to make both of us feel comfortable. Fred looks amazingly clean when he comes out and he isn't stressed at all which is important for me. I have been coming here for over a year. I had been to over 4 different groomers in the past and both Tyson and I haven't been pleased. He always seem to dread going in and came out either licking his paws or limping. So I didn't bring him to be groomed that often. I found Serenity Dog Spa and from day one the difference was so notable. I bring him every month now. He gets so excited when we pull up to the building. They have a cute little area outside where he can do some business first if he has to. He never looks back when he goes in. And comes out waving his tail. I think he could hang there all day he's so not is a rush to get going. They are all so wonderful to the dogs..Today he came out with a huge red bow and they helped me pick out a great new collar for him.(they have some cute doggie items for sale) .The Price is right for sure. It's worth a trip here even if you don't live that close. There is plenty of shopping in the area to kill time till they call you. Always promptly.
