I've been bringing my dog here for around five years for grooming. He's such a pain in the butt to deal with when it comes to baths and ESPECIALLY nail clipping and grinding. I own a boxer who loves going into the store with me because he is loved by the cashiers...(he doesent eat the treats but enjoys making the young lady give them to him for kicks i guess). Even when he is not with me, she asks about him all the time which is awesome as she has a good memory of my pup. His food price fluctuates often which makes me weary of buying it from there and going online for a consistent price, but then I started getting coupons for like 10 dollars off so I can deal with it now. Overall a great place...The conure they have likes to play hang upside down and look at me for long periods of time..lol and their bearded dragon always get caught and looks like he needs help...lol love this place read more

I was having so much trouble with my aquarium. I went into Petsmart and Mary was so helpful! She tested my water, and walked me through everything I would need to do to make my aquarium healthy. She even took the time to show me exactly how to vacuum all of the rocks and clean my filter. She was so sweet and understanding, and literally answered every question I had about my aquarium! I came from Washington DC in hopes of adopting a cat today. I went to 3 different petsmart to look at cats and when I got to this one at 6pm I saw the perfect match Ronnie. When I told the manager John that I was serious about adopting and came from Washington DC he refused to let me meet Ronnie or apply to adopt him because it was less than an hour and a half before close. Although I had just left another PetSmart in the area that was about to close and was very friendly and let me meet the cats. I left heart broken and am very upset with my experience. read more

First of all, other than over priced treats and food and birds trapped in cages, PetSmart doesn't offer much. I went there for homeopathic nose drops and they didn't carry it, colostrum and they didn't carry it and non of the staff knew what any of those things were so i had to figure it out for myself! But This review is for the groomer services. I went in about 6pm and was one of 3 people in the whole store , While I was there looking for what I needed, I noticed the dog groomer ripping the hair i this miniature poodles ear so hard the dog could barely stand. I decided to keep watching her as I am already so Leary of PetSmart groomers due to their horrible reputations for mistreating animals. She continued to savagely brush this poor things ears as it tried to get away sliding all over the table. Then she grabbed it's snout to clip its face and she was holding its nose and mouth shut, I could see its little belly expand and contract trying to breathe. I filed a complaint and then sat outside PetSmart in my car waiting for the owner and asking everyone going in if they were picking up theirs poodle. I didn't have any luck but I am hoping they see this post! Another reason these big chain stores need to go!! read more

Grooming dept, is hit or miss. We have two very large dogs, and most of the visits they do not smell clean. They offer to redo, but seriously that's too much time and stress. Do it correctly the first time. If you have other options use them. read more

Solid scrub down for my pooch. She's 107 pounds of fur and drool and they did a great job getting her clean. Everyone seemed professional and friendly, and they did truly care about the dogs with plenty of affection. I felt good leaving my dog with them. They also finished with her an hour and a half earlier than expected, and called me promptly to pick her up. I liked that they give a report card at pick up and specify what they did during the service. However: I specifically asked that they clean and trim her paws, when I picked her up, she still had small mats between her toes. They washed her, then cleaned her ears, so a lot of that goop ended up in the fur on her face. After I got her home and had a chance to pet her, they did get most* of the dead hair and undercoat out, but there were several small mats and tangles that the bath had set that I had to pick out. Most of her undercoat was stripped out, but much of her neck and throat did not seem attended to. All in all, definitely worth the money to not have to wrestle my beast in the bathtub alone. It's tough washing a dog who goes limp and boneless on the shower floor! I did brush her pretty thoroughly before dropping her off, and I'm sure that allowed them more time to focus on the more specialty tasks. Average service for an OK price. read more

It seems that there are hardly any helpers available when you need one, which is annoying, and there is an associate who always seems aggravated. My biggest irritation, though, is being given the third degree or getting a lecture about my fish aquariums. I don't appreciate being treated like a novice or having an associate REFUSE to sell me something that ANOTHER associate sold me within a month ago! I certainly don't believe the line about not knowing what it is or having to maintain their inventory. I feel discriminated against and don't plan on returning to THIS store; they don't even have a vet on site like the others. I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

Nikki did an amazing job grooming my Shih Tzu. He was a fluffy mess going in and came out happy and handsome after.

We made a grooming appointment online. The following day when we showed up with our dog we were told our appointment was cancelled. We were told the cancellation occurred because they did not account for a Bernese Mountain Dog they had on the schedule. Additionally, a groomer stated they had called and texted. They did call 20 minutes before our appointment as we were en route to Pet Smart leaving a message. They actually texted us on our way out of Pet Smart. At that time, I went back and asked to speak to the manager. The manager was actually in the grooming area and had heard everything. His response was they do not control the website Pet Smart uses. I asked what was the point in having an appointment website that does not serve the purpose of booking appointments correctly. He was cavalier in his explanation. I believe the grooming personnel failed to put a dog in their appointment software application and decided to cancel our appointment to accommodate...user error. read more

I made an appointment online for a cat bath and nail trim. When I arrived, I was told that no one at that location gives cat nail trims, and that if I returned the next day, they might have someone who gives cat baths but no nail trims. (Or was it the other way around, nails but no baths??? Who knows???) This was right after I'd adopted a cat that morning and transported it in my car and had to turn around and drive home. Very unhappy cat and unhappy person. The staffer wasn't apologetic at all. Why on earth would the online system allow me to make appointments and give prices for services that aren't available??? Never going back to this Petsmart. read more

I have to agree with another reviewer who said this place is hit or miss, as it depends on who you deal with. Some people are excellent, others not so much. Cashiers are often the only ones you see in the store and the only ones who can get you help. But they're always friendly and helpful. Workers in other departments can't readily be found, but they are extremely knowledgeable in their section when you finally get someone. One thing that we don't see much of (if any) at this location is the dog adoptions on Saturday. Seems like we have to stick to the Garrisonville location for that. read more

I took my German Shepherd for a bath and nail trim today at 9am. He does not like walking on the tile floors in the store. But he is usually okay. I was told he would be ready in 3 hours and I was ok with that. He had been there several other times. I left him and ran a few errands and when I got home I had gotten a message to come and pick him up. I was told he was extremely nervous and it was nearly impossible to give him a bath. Also I might want to try a vet or do him myself. However she had no problem trimming his nails. My dog weighs 120lbs. I have had some good service in the past but I felt like this particular groomer did not want to do this big dog. I guess they don't team up when it comes to a large breed. I was very disappointed with the service and I can tell you I will never go back. However he did get a bath at another local groomer and he was just fine!! read more
