She was very kind and explained a mix up regarding emails with the owner. No big deal; these things happen. I appreciated her apology. She did inform me that they do not train in the kind of scent work I am looking for, and she sadly doesn't know anyone near my location who does. My only suggestion would be for the owner, since they are the ones who receive the emails. It might be best to respond to the customer in an email and state something to the effect of, "Colonial K9 has received your request and we will be forwarding your message to the respective trainer. Please let us know if a trainer has not gotten in contact with you in the next 48/72 hours." This way the customer knows their email has been seen and read. Otherwise, the customer feels their request wasn't taken seriously. Additionally, a reminder message or task could be created within the Microsoft 360 platform and be sent to the trainers. Just some ideas to help the customers and trainer so a customer isn't lost due to mistakes. Thank you again for the apology. It is appreciated. I have been looking for a solid trainer since moving here. It has not been easy finding a reputable trainer. During the phone call, I was told to send an email because emails go straight to the owner. The owner will review the email and either respond personally, or the owner will send the email to the respective trainer. I thanked the person who I spoke with and promptly sent an email detailing my dog training needs. By 15MAY2024, I still hadn't received a response from Colonial K9. As a result, I sent another email and stated; "I am following up from my attached email as I have not received a response. If you are unable to help us, it's understandable. I would appreciate it if you could give us a referral on a trainer who can help." As of today, 24MAY2024, I have yet to receive a response. I am not sure where the disconnect is. All I want to do is find a solid trainer to continue with scent work training. I guess Colonial K9 isn't interested in assisting. Copy that!

Received services back in June to assist in training my JRT. Training was 80% talk. Talking about what BB stands for...theory about being the alpha and making noises to correct a dog's behavior. Results I was hoping to see from BB. What really gets me is that after the 2 sessions, I have never heard from Bark Busters. Not the company, nor the trainer. I guess they do not stand by their word or contract. Like Steve Miller sang, " Go on and take the money and run". I will never ever recommend Bark Busters. I originally called and wanted to walk the facility to see what the kennel looked like to ensure I was comfortable with boarding my pups there. The facility appeared to be clean and up kept. We were not allowed to see the inside of the facilities but the staff were accommodating in sending us pictures so we could see. During my pups stay, we did not receive any phone calls or updates so we assumed they were happy and healthy. I would say that would be the only thing if we would receive updates via text or email that would have made me feel more assured but overall we were really happy with the process. Our dogs returned to us happy and didn't seem stressed whatsoever. We would definitely bring them back again. Thank you!!!

Since he's worked with her over the five-week training period, he's made a complete 180. Now we're able to walk around the city and not have him bark at every dog we see on the street. I want to point out that because my dog is innately anxious, it affects his physical state too with eating and other issues. Kelia shared that she used to be a vet tech and made me feel the most comfortable and confident with helping me set up a plan for when he might have an episode due to the transition and what all would take place to ensure he would be okay, loved, and healthy. Long story short, she cared for him for the days he was struggling, kept me updated, and he came out of it because she was purposeful, knowledgeable, and more than capable to handle the situation. Our family highly recommends Controlled K9! We adopted our boy Mortimer last year after he had been…read moreliving as a stray, and we were really struggling when he came home with basic manners, reactivity, and having him settle in with our other dog. We ended up sending both of our boys for a six-week board and train with Kelia. It seemed to only make sense to send both dogs so they would have the same baseline training. Kelia was amazing! She kept us informed just about every day with videos and texts so we could see that the boys were happy and making progress. When Kelia brought the boys home, she spent a few hours with us, showing all the commands and techniques that she taught them, so we had a seamless transition. The "place" command alone has been lifechanging. (Although as you can see in the picture, they sometimes refuse to use separate mats, LOL.) We use the command before we feed them, initially when guests come by, and when we just need them to settle down a bit. It has reduced the stress and chaos in our house tenfold, and we actually can see the boys relax when they know they have a place to go and chill out. Kelia also gave us the tools to make leash walking and general obedience so much more successful. There are a lot of options out there for training. What set Controlled K9 apart for us was (1) our boys lived with Kelia, her family, and her dogs during training - they were not staying in a kennel and were in a real-life, loving environment, and (2) the promise of lifetime, free follow-up support. The boys have been home now for about 3 months. The training has stuck, and we feel like we really have the tools we need to make life pleasant for all of us, including the boys. Kelia has also proactively checked in to make sure things are going well, provided tips on the best way to reinforce training, and has responded quickly when we have follow-up questions, including offering a visit. Over three months later, we are still completely satisfied with the training and support provided by Controlled K9 and Kelia, and we would use them again in a heartbeat.

Allie is a 5 year old American Shelter Hound. I am so grateful to Adia Robinson and Woof House staff and trainers. I believe that training saved my pups today. My biggest fear has always been that one would get out, and that I would not get my beloved pup back alive. Allie is a Houdini Hound, loves to run and investigate all that is around her. She had gotten out three times, before Woof Houze. Today, while doing yard work, one of gates to my back yard was left open. When I realized this and that both of my pups were out and about, I hollered "Come! To me!" And they BOTH CAME RUNNING BACK TO ME, back through the gate, and looking for congratulations. Which they got in abundance--after I closed the gate. My dogs are alive, with me, and in my house. Thanks to Woof Houze! I am Fredericksburg, and live in the Fbg area.
