Received services back in June to assist in training my JRT. Training was 80% talk. Talking about what BB stands for...theory about being the alpha and making noises to correct a dog's behavior. The techniques are so antiquated. Other trainers I have worked with can't believe I went to Bark Busters for help. Working with other trainers has actually led to results. Results I was hoping to see from BB. What really gets me is that after the 2 sessions, I have never heard from Bark Busters. Not the company, nor the trainer. I guess they do not stand by their word or contract. Like Steve Miller sang, " Go on and take the money and run". I will never ever recommend Bark Busters. For those of you who have had success, cheers. Our experience..or lack of...was very underwhelming to say the least.

Our Siberian Husky Dylan ate window sills, shoes, toilet paper rolls, chair legs. Dylan hated other dogs and went on the attack as soon as he spotted one. The worst part was he hated babies and we were about to be come Grand Parents. Lee spent an afternoon teaching Dylan as well as my wife and I on how to continue training. Dylan did a 360 that day just when we were about to go crazy and find him another home. It's been two months now and Dylan is still an entirely different dog. He is a pleasure to have now. Lee accomplished this in one afternoon visit. I would highly recommend Lee with Bark Busters. He has a great personality and explains and demonstrates everything to easily understand and follow up for success. She was very kind and explained a mix up regarding emails with the owner. No big deal; these things happen. I appreciated her apology. She did inform me that they do not train in the kind of scent work I am looking for, and she sadly doesn't know anyone near my location who does. My only suggestion would be for the owner, since they are the ones who receive the emails. It might be best to respond to the customer in an email and state something to the effect of, "Colonial K9 has received your request and we will be forwarding your message to the respective trainer. Please let us know if a trainer has not gotten in contact with you in the next 48/72 hours." This way the customer knows their email has been seen and read. Otherwise, the customer feels their request wasn't taken seriously. Additionally, a reminder message or task could be created within the Microsoft 360 platform and be sent to the trainers. Just some ideas to help the customers and trainer so a customer isn't lost due to mistakes. Thank you again for the apology. It is appreciated. I have bumped my review up from two stars to fours stars. **Original Review** ***I have not used their services***This is only a review based on communication, or lack thereof*** On 08MAY2024, I called Colonial K9 to inquire about dog training; specifically scent work. I have been looking for a solid trainer since moving here. It has not been easy finding a reputable trainer. During the phone call, I was told to send an email because emails go straight to the owner. The owner will review the email and either respond personally, or the owner will send the email to the respective trainer. I thanked the person who I spoke with and promptly sent an email detailing my dog training needs. By 15MAY2024, I still hadn't received a response from Colonial K9. As a result, I sent another email and stated; "I am following up from my attached email as I have not received a response. If you are unable to help us, it's understandable. I would appreciate it if you could give us a referral on a trainer who can help." As of today, 24MAY2024, I have yet to receive a response. I am not sure where the disconnect is. All I want to do is find a solid trainer to continue with scent work training. I guess Colonial K9 isn't interested in assisting. Copy that!

We had a two week long boarding training with our two dogs and they clearly got ZERO training. They most likely were stuck in their crates the entire time (we were given their crates back with the blankets thrown away because they deficated and urinated on them which they NEVER did that previously, and the crates were so filthy of poop). The "trainer", well her (what very much appeared to be) drug using boyfriend was in the icu the majority of the time our dogs were in their care. The dogs were also picked up in an ashtray looking car, ash and cigarette butts and trash filled in the car by her bf and herself. They're lucky we were ignorant young adults back then, if all this were to have happened now, it'd be a different story. I still feel so bad for even allowing our dogs to stay with them.

Allie is a 5 year old American Shelter Hound. I am so grateful to Adia Robinson and Woof House staff and trainers. I believe that training saved my pups today. My biggest fear has always been that one would get out, and that I would not get my beloved pup back alive. Allie is a Houdini Hound, loves to run and investigate all that is around her. She had gotten out three times, before Woof Houze. Today, while doing yard work, one of gates to my back yard was left open. When I realized this and that both of my pups were out and about, I hollered "Come! To me!" And they BOTH CAME RUNNING BACK TO ME, back through the gate, and looking for congratulations. Which they got in abundance--after I closed the gate. My dogs are alive, with me, and in my house. Thanks to Woof Houze! I am Fredericksburg, and live in the Fbg area. Dave has helped me more times than I can count and is the reason that my dog is an absolute angel. I am a better owner because of all he's taught me. Dave takes the time to really explain why your dog is behaving a certain way, making sure you as the owner understands it completely, and fixes it. I would VERY highly recommend Dave to any dog owner that is having even the smallest issue.
