stephanie the groomer is pretty good , however if you have a curly haired dog they always charge a 20 dematting fee . my dog had mats in the beginning and thankfully after bringing him here I learned how to properly care for his fur (again thanks to his groomer ). However even after his fur was not matted they still charged the fee because it would take time to brush out even though they have to brush every dog before a bath ... he was not shaved just trimmed . The receptionist (also named stephanie )was very rude about it and said it was because I always brought my pet in matted when that was not the case at all . The groomer also stated that if the dog comes back after the first couple of times matted they would just assume the owner hasn't learned their lesson and charge them that . When I came back to pick up my pet the receptionist handed me my dog and said he had red spots on his groin area because of the "very tight Matt's " and would just have bruising ( that had never happened even when he was severely matted in the beginning) . He was NOT matted today just needed a brush and trim along with the nail trim that's included . I always tip the groomer and pay the fee but it seems they've gotten into the habit of charging it anyway just because he has curly hair . (He's a Maltipoo) . The other receptionist ,Chris Is really nice and Steph is the best groomer there , if it was an accident I understand but to blame me for the red bruise just to try to prove a point was unprofessional on the receptionist part . Don't know how I feel about going back after the incident and after reading their aggressive responses to reviews . P.S The service should be 65+ for small dogs but I alway end up paying 90-100 . Pricey, but the best around. Whenever we have needed to get our dog an appointment, the people at Petman are polite, friendly, and they make it work! My dog isn't stuck in a kennel, but more of a small room with a half door. That's such a better fit for her. She comes home pretty and smelling great! read more

I would not recommend Petman Grooming , very dishonest owners! They changed their rates and they advertise it when you walk in, and prices are based on your pets weight. They also have a chart/advertisement when you walk in with the weights and prices. You can weigh your animal and it shows you the price. When you pick up your animal they up charge you and say they had to do all these things and extras to your animal without your permission or notification. So your price is much higher. This place is the absolute best! I take my Bernese Mountain dog/ Aussie mix here and they ALWAYS do a phenomenal job. The lady at the front desk is so nice and personable and yet so professional. The people there really care about the well being of the dogs, and take as much time as they need for each dog so the dogs have a positive experience. I have tried many places in the Stafford/ Fredericksburg area and this place is hands down the best! The prices are fair and the job is amazing! 10/10 in my book! Omg! This place totally "blew my mind"! Came with no expectations and decided to try it out after a neighbor recommended it, but still sounded to good to be true. I have 3 English bulldogs and not one likes their toe nails cut. Our vet charges $24 to cut them plus a tech visit fee and take an hour at the minimum. I pulled up and asked the young lady if she could accommodate us and she said yes! Bring them in! Brought them in one at a time. Oldest first, hard-headed 5 yr. old, Opie, he went back with no issues. Grabbed the next one and another girl got him and got the next one and by then, they were handing them back and their nails were cut! WTH? And the dogs weren't freaking out! Opie even had a hang nail and a nice lady came and showed it to me and explained how to TCB when I get him home. Everyone was done in 20-25 minutes tops and it only cost $30 cash. I was so pleased I gave them all my cash for a tip. Thank you for being my new favorite place. read more

Hope has been grooming my maltipoo for almost a year now and does a great job! When she moved to Pet Man Grooming, I followed her there. My maltipoo gets nervous during grooming, but now when I pick her up she isn't freaked out or scared. They are also super efficient. When I use to take my dog to the big grooming stores, I would be waiting all day to get the call that my dog was done. I've never had a problem with my dog not getting groomed on time. I can not say enough great things about this groomer. They do a great job on my 2 dogs. My dog is 16 Yrs. old and deaf and they are wonderful with him. I also like the fact that your dog is not put in a cage . They allow them to play around or put them in a play pen like thing. They do a great job grooming and trimming nails. The owners are always there and enjoy every dog that walks through the front gate. It's extremely clean, friendly, professional and affordable. Their coat is like silk, she reports anything to me that I should be concerned about and she keeps the door locked so no chance for a run away dog. Once your pooch is groomed and waiting, she has small round pens in the lobby for them to play in while they wait for your return. Just took my dog here and the first impression was great! The place is VERY clean and the staff was super friendly. You could tell that they genuinely love animals. My dog was not thrilled that he was not at Dogtopia and did not want to go in at all. We finally got him in the door and he was petted and talked too until he was comfortable. About an hour later they called and said he was ready. They were playing fetch with him when I got there and he did NOT want to leave~ His hair cut looks great and we are both very pleased. Based on Yelp reviews, we brought our 2 West Highland White Terriers (Wilson and Jasper) to PetMan Grooming for the first time yesterday...the boys hadn't been groomed for some time so PetMan probably had a lot of work to do ;-)...we were really impressed with how the grooming worked! Hey everyone, it took me a long time to post this review because I just don't understand how all the other reviews are so great. I had my baby girl groomed at this place and when I got her home she kept licking and scratching herself in multiple areas. When I checked her I saw that my girl was cut and had abrasions from the grooming in multiple areas. One of the larger abrasions from the clippers was right above her eye. My dog is a mini golden doodle that is calm loving as they come. For these people to do this to my dog and not to mention it when I picked her up is unbelievable. I was so angry and devastated and sad. After that my baby girl did not want to go to the groomers anymore,she was scared. These people do not understand that when we bringing our dogs they're not just dogs they are our babies. My dogs are very important to me. I maintain their health and their well-being. I nurture them mentally and physically. I will never take my babies to this place ever again. The haircuts look great but I do not need the physical and mental damage that they do. They should be ashamed of themselves. If you love your dog and are worried about their well-being do not take them here. read more

Our dog's ear got cut by this groomer! Yes, you heard it right, not nipped but cut! They've cut a portion of his left ear! The groomer did not inform us that they've cut our dog's ear during grooming not until at pick up time when we saw our dog was wearing a big bandage on his ear! Yes, they paid for the vet bills because we insisted but our dog was traumatized and had to endure a long healing process & the wearing of the so called cone of shame! I had to take care of putting his ear medicine and give him his antibiotic for days. I know this happened a few months ago but I thought it is our due diligence to put this review up here as I see all these 5 star reviews on this groomer! I'm glad that others have had a great experience with this groomer but we obviously had a VERY HORRIBLE AND TERRIFYING one with this groomer and now have a phobia trying new ones and are careful with trusting reviews of consumers!
