THIS ENTIRE STORE IS AWFUL- every last department. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY, take your beloved pet somewhere clean and safe. I don't write reviews often, but after several bad experiences at this location I've had enough. We are new to the area and have never had an issue with other Petsmart locations but this one deserves to be shut down. Dirty facilities. Awful customer service. The first experience was boarding our dog for the weekend at the Pet Hotel back in January. The customer service rep at the counter was not personable, mostly void of any sort of warmth or compassion, and didn't seem to want to be there. After three days, we picked our healthy energetic dog up only to discover he was now limping and lethargic. His limp continued for two weeks. In the meantime we had to take him back in for a bath and grooming because he left the Pet Hotel wreaking of urine. We arrive at the groomers to be told they never made his appointment and didn't have time. They finally offered to give him a bath but we had to bring him back the next day, to be met once again with more issues upon check in. Finally got him in for a full grooming appointment- the results were average at best. Two months after the first Pet Hotel experience, we had to go out of town again for the weekend and the friend that was supposed to watch our dog had to cancel so we had to make the decision at the last minute, much to my dismay, to bring our dog to the Pet Hotel again. We made sure to specify that the previous time we picked him up he had a limp and smelled like pee and that was not acceptable and could not happen again. We even paid more so he could have more individual play time and not be stuck in the play room (which doubles as the bathroom) with fifteen other dogs. The customer service rep didn't acknowledge the mention of the limp and proceeded to continue the scripted check in process. Three days later we pick our dog up, miraculously no injuries this time and paid more for him to get a bath this time before we picked him up. Before we left the facility, we walked over to the vet inside Petsmart to schedule a visit because our dog is on prescription food, and were met with two very cold, unfriendly women. We finally were assured that next time we need to pick up the prescription food that we can do so without an issue and without them having to see our dog to write another prescription. So we stop in this morning to pick up a bag of prescription food right at 9am when the vet opened because we are traveling for the holiday weekend and the woman inside at the Vet was exceptionally rude and cold to my boyfriend and informed him she couldn't do anything and he needed the prescription and had to talk to Petsmart not the vet. He told her they noted our previous visit in our dog's file specifically to avoid this issue and we also have Banfield's pet insurance. She said she couldn't help - more so didn't WANT to help. He asked to speak to a manager, she said she didn't know if there was one. She was not helpful, was very cold and rude, and this is not the first encounter with this unpleasant woman. What a horrible representative of Petsmart. Finally a store manager was able to step in and assist and acknowledged the vet's unacceptable demeanor (seems this isn't an isolated incident?) but the damage is done. After multiple bad experiences at this location, a lack of apologies and no attempt to rectify any of the prior issues, we will take our business elsewhere because clearly the amount of money we spend at this establishment is neither appreciated or makes any difference to anyone employed here. read more

I use this location for the pet hotel. They are good at accommodating your dog's stay on short notice. I used to do doggy day care to waive the extended boarding fee, however, my dog has come home with cuts that she did not have before going in, as well as fleas, after socializing with the other dogs. read more

Terrible customer service. I went in looking for a fish tank never having purchased one before I asked for assistance. The girl was very generic & didn't give me specifics as to what I needed to buy to get started. Once I decided to purchase, I had to find another associate (as they were scarce). She said I had to purchase one that was already assembled. While I was sizing up to see if the fully assembled one would fit in my car, she walked away because I took too long. Not a good experience. Scheduled an 8:00 a.m. appointment with Jen the manager of grooming today Monday. Arrived at 8:02 and was told Jen was out. Upon pressing for a conversation with the groomer and manager I was told she was in a conference call and I could return in 1 hour. Since they knew from 7-8 a.m. that a dog was coming in at 8 do you think they could have had enough brains to contact me and tell me that Moe would not be able to be checked in by Jen and give me the choice of leaving him in a kennel with no instructions to the groomer or rescheduling. Very upset with the answer I received which was well will ask for a 3-4 hour window so my pet would have sat in a kennel for 60 minutes until the groomer showed up. This is not good customer service and I plan to find an alternate for my dog grooming. This is very distressing. We were the only pet owner there and they had a full hour to figure out how to contact me and allow me the choice of coming in later. What if I had left my pet there at 7 a.m. ? Now I know why my pet was scratching to be let out the door as soon as we arrived. Sorry Jen, bad choice, unprofessional, wrong answer. I never met the young groomer in the shop and had no intention to explain my dog's current health and wellness to her. read more

I gave this location another shot and noticed a great change -- Staff is much more attentive and service is was better this time around.

We started taking our Westie there when they opened their stores. Stopped 3 years ago. Our guy gets anxiety when you trim his nails. This as caused the first time he went to another groomer who cut his nails so short they bled. Fast forward, when the last at pet smart groomer had the great idea of drugging him. I paid, gave the groomer a $10.00 tip and carried him to the car. He was in a daze and running into furniture & walls and would stand still swaying back and forth for two days. I will never take him back there. read more

We had to return an item to the store and came across many problems due to "company policy" at other locations. Finally Aime, the store manager at the Linton location took her time and went out of her way to help us out. She really took her time to take a look at our situation and did her best to help us out. I can't even tell you how awful the boarding is. Our 3 pound chihuahua had feces on her and she stunk. We brought her home and she was so lethargic we thought she was going to die. I went out of my way to bag her food and leave instructions for her as she was a senior dog. We never left her there again. If you love your dog, please investigate other options. read more

I have been pretty fortunate with my experiences at this location, the grooming salon people have always been very helpful and nice (Nicole is super) and the staff at the doggie day care are usually very nice except for one of them. Today, she was the worst! She made some handmade sign that said to wait outside the lobby until you are called. I stood there about 15m with no acknowledgement, finally I opened the door to ask her about how much longer and she's frazzled and tells me 5 more minutes. None of the other staff in that area acts like this, they have all been really nice. This coupled with the fact that every time we have to deal with her she tells us she doesn't care for Golden Doodles. We don't ask her opinion, but she always volunteers this information. (Her customer service skills suck!! She doesn't belong w/ the public) This location is very convenient to my home and everybody else is really nice but she is making it very difficult to continue taking my business there. And it seems like she is always there on Saturday mornings:-(( read more

I have been there twice since we moved to the area. Blue and Lucy took care of my pup. He looked great each time. My dog is a senior dog and has done well there. I'm so unbelievably disappointed with the treatment of my dog received at the pet hotel. Over the past few months Shelby would go to their doggy daycare and have a great time. So we decided while we had a crazy busy weekend at work we would let her stay at their pethotel and be able to play during the day with other dogs. We thought it would be great fun for her. we went ahead and scheduled her stay and requested her to be in doggy daycare during the day. Everything was set with no problems. We go to drop her off on our way out of town and we're told at check-in that she "now/all of a sudden" looks like an aggressive breed and isn't allowed in group play. We were already running late and couldn't turn around. However, we were told we could talk to a manager and she could over rule that the next day. Very irritated we went on our way. The next day I called and checked on my dog (who had been stuck in a kennel for 24hours at this point, only allowed out for potty breaks, which is so far from what we signed up for. the manager was rude, didn't apologies, and said their policy changed. It would of been great if we were told this when we made the reservation or the last time we brought her in for group play when it wasn't a problem apparently. If she was a new dog to that facility that would be one thing. However she had been there for months, has never had a negative report, is the sweetest little dog in the world, and most importantly isn't an aggressive breed. The staff was rude as soon as they knew we were upset and my poor baby (who's only a year old) was stuck in a kennel. My husband and I felt so uncomfortable about leaving her there for another night, so we completely rearranged our schedule to get home just in time to pick her up. Again the staff didn't apologies and they some how charged us $50 for my dog to sit in a kenned for a night. When we finally got her home she was so hyper and dehydrated. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!! We are so appalled by the situation and that this is considered acceptable customer service and treatment at petsmart. read more

I go to this pets smart all the time to have my dog groomed. The staff is friendly and usually do a great job. I took my dog to the vet the other day and they informed me that I need to have my groomer pull more hair out of the ears. So this is only reason im giving a 4 star. read more

First time I took my Lab to the Linton groomers service I was adamant about NOT SHAVING him..we agreed on a short clip. The reason being is that dogs use hair to keep them cool during hot temperatures they can actually catch pneumonia due to the sudden shock of taking the hair down to their skin on larger breeds. Picked him up and they had shaved him so far down you could see the pink of his skin. I was "xdrrr*&^%"! angry but kept my cool. Their appointment system is inadequate as they constantly overbook sometimes a week ahead. Thing is the service is cheap which is attractive but the groomers are amateurs managed by a pro. Most of them are high school or college level side jobs. I didn't know that until after I saw the operation first hand..should have guessed upon seeing the price. Since then I bought my own grooming kit watched some videos on grooming and do it myself. The cost of the kit was paid for in 2 would have been service charges and I do a better job. So the old adage that a monkey can do it is true. The so called "PRO" dog groomer title is a joke..just means they've been paid to cut an animals hair..anyone can do this with ease and I love spending the time with my pal he loves it when I clip and bath him. Good riddance petsmart. I will also start ordering my food from online warehouse stores as well its less expensive and drop shipping is included. read more

I checked the place out 2 weeks before I needed care for my baby Coco, was impressed by how clean and beautiful the place was. At that time I got all the information and set up a reservation for Coco. Three day before the scheduled drop off I called to confirm. On the day I dropped off Coco it was unbelievably stressful. Once there they said Coco was missing a flu shot and they could not board her. I was in tears as I only had two hour before I needed to be at the airport. They did help me with solution but it took an hour to solve and I was very unhappy with the solution. Coco ended up staying in the Animal hospital in a small cage for the first two days where she got her flu shot and then transferred to the hotel for the last two days. I was so disappointed that they did not check her records properly prior to her stay. I just wanted her to have fun and enjoy herself with the dogs but instead she was locked up away from other dogs for two days. Picking her up was equally disappointing. The staff was unfriendly and rude. They gave Coco back to me and said nothing. It would have been so nice if someone would have said something like even thank you. I would never use this place for boarding again. I would like to add at least the animal hospital was very nice to me and Coco. read more

This was the worst experience or case of animal abuse I have ever witnessed at an animal grooming facility. One of the groomers had left a small dog alone on the grooming table and it was shivering. No sooner was I noticing the poor dog that the groomer started screaming and threatening to hit the dog right there in front of me as I stood at the cashier. I was astonished, wondering, if they are this abusive with animals when there is a client present, what must go on behind the doors at this place when no one is around watching? I then watched the girl carry a dog back to the room with one hand like a loaf of bread, as though she was completely unconscious of the animals safety if it had fallen. There was no consideration of the animal's well being as she hoisted the small dog up well above her head and into an open crate near the door that led to the grooming area. Again, I watched the whole thing! With so many wonderful grooming facilities available, don't even think about bringing your pet here. My original thought was that this may be an isolated incident with a disgruntled employee, so I asked to speak with the manager. After acting surprised, he said he would call me the next day but HE NEVER DID!!! I am so grateful that I witnessed what I did in one respect, I can't imagine the effects of what could have happened to my puppy unknown to me after bringing her home unaware of the treatment the animals receive there. It was like coming home after leaving your child with a babysitter who was abusive, but to which you had no knowledge of the abuse, nor could the child speak up for themselves and the trauma carries over into their life with nobody ever having knowledge of it. The Petsmart on Linton should be closed down and investigated for past abuse. read more

I made a reservation to leave my cat at the pet hotel the Saturday after Thanksgiving for a total of 7 days on account of my going on a cruise. I made the reservation over the phone and the process was rather simple, and the staff member I spoke to at the time was very helpful. After making the reservation, I went over to the pet hotel to see what type of accommodations my cat was going to receive - and that was the beginning of me being completely misled and lied to. The staff member who explained the accommodations to me said that each cat receives a double level cage with a hole in between so that they could move around, and that each cat would be taken out of their cage twice per day individually for exercise and play. I seemed rather confident in my decision to leave my cat there at the time, and went ahead and dropped her off as scheduled. When I arrived at the pet hotel to drop her off, the staff member at the desk didn't really explain much and just asked for the proof of my cat having had her required vaccines. The staff member took my cat back to the cage area in between dealing with customers bringing their dogs in for day care, and therefore seemed rather scattered and didn't give me much attention. I noticed that when the staff member brought my cat to the back room, she failed to grab the bag containing her blanket, toys, treats and daily food. I waited a good 20 minutes for the staff member to get back to the desk and stop dealing with the onslaught of other customers while I was standing there, and then notified her that she forgot the bag of my cat's belongings. She seemed hardly concerned and said 'Oh, I need to take an inventory of what's in the bag'. So, I stood there waiting for her to do so, and then she goes 'Oh, yeah, you can go now.' She never explained whether or not the staff would be calling me to report on my cat's well-being considering she was going to be there for 7 days, which was actually a concern that was plaguing my mind - in fact, she said nothing. Before I left, I made sure to tell this staff member that my cat really liked her blanket and it should be in the cage with her to help relax her because she's very nervous and restless. As it turns out, I had a friend check on my cat at the pet hotel to make sure everything was going OK - especially considering the lack of concern and customer service exhibited by the staff when I dropped my pet off. My friend told me that my cat was not kept in a double level cage, but simple one small cage - and she was missing the blanket and most of the toys that I provided in her bag of belongings. When my friend asked where her blanket was, the staff member carelessly said 'Oh, it must be in the wash or something.' Then my friend asked the staff if they let her out to play and they said they had not been letting her out at all because they were afraid of her due to her growling and hissing. My cat was very nervous and stressed out, which is why she was very upset in the cage - and I seriously doubt the lack of space and personal attention didn't help her behavior. The staff is obviously not intellectually equipped to deal with animals in new surroundings, especially cats which are very susceptible to becoming extremely stressed out in unfamiliar environments. As a result, my friend went back to the pet hotel to check on my cat and take her out to get exercise and play because she didn't like or trust the staff at all. In face, she commented that when she came in one day to visit my cat, the dog trainer was in the front lobby and practically yanking a large dog violently into the area. When the trainer saw my friend's facial reaction to this mistreatment, she stopped and pet the dog and said 'That's a good boy,' as if she wasn't just horribly yanking him. If my friend never went to visit my cat, nobody would have even bothered with her at the pet hotel - I almost question how they were putting food in her cage and cleaning her box if they were too afraid to even let her out for play time. What the hell was I paying for exactly? To keep my cat in a box for 7 days straight with no attention?!? When we arrived to pick up my cat, the staff asked us to go into the back and get her out of the cage because they were too afraid. We paid the bill and they hardly said anything other than 'She was very vocal while here.' Yeah, I'm sure that was because she was essentially locked in a box with no care or attention, idiots! I will never, ever use that place to house my pet again and I hope nobody else ever entrusts such a remedial staff to care for their beloved pets. I will be sure to spread the word on how horrible this place is to every pet owner I know. read more

DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOG OR CAT HERE. THIS PLACE IS FILTHY. They have flea and tick infestations on a regular basis. The rooms, kennels are not cleaned properly on a regular basis. It is filthy. There are gnats everywhere, the drains are not cleaned, the air conditioning does not work, and you do not get what you pay for. Half hour "playtimes" are equal to 5 minutes...and that is IF they have enough staff that day to take your dog out. There is no such thing as hour long individual playtimes. Do not board your pet here. It is not healthy, it is not worth your money. Go elsewhere. read more

Let me start by saying that we have gotten our Bichon/Shih tzu groomed at PetCo every month since we rescued her 9 months ago. In Delray for the winter we decided to go to PetSmart since they were right near us. We had a 2:30 appointment. When we arrived and signed in we were told to come back in 4 hours. I was astonished and asked what they were going to do with her. I was told they would cage her till it was time for her to get bathed. I explained that she has had a very bad experience being caged and we did not put her in one and asked if I could come back when they were ready for her. I was told no, that she had to be there so they could bathe her in between working on another dog, and then put her back in the cage till she dries. I was not happy about it. We talked to a manager who reassured us that he checks on the dogs every half hour and that he just saw ours and she was fine. Two hours later my husband called to check on her and no one there knew who she was, or where she was! Now for the "grooming". We bathe her all the time but were told they would bathe her anyway. I explained that she needed to be trimmed, and that she had a very bad knot on her paw. The groomer told me she would be able to brush it out. When we got her her hair was completely brushed straight up in the air, she looked ridiculous but I knew that was a temporary thing, her curls would come back. After getting her home I noticed that she still couldn't see, and that the hair around her eyes was not trimmed at all. My husband said her stomach was not shaved, nor the area around her rear which needs to be cleaned up. Her paws looked like they were not touched at all, and when I ran my hand down them, sure enough, the gigantic knot was still there! I don't think anyone even touched her. I will never leave my dog there again. In fact, I don't think I am going to go back to PetSmart for any of either of our dog's needs ever again. I do not recommend this place and do not think these groomers are trained to do their jobs. read more

I've taken my dog here a handful of times and so far haven't had that bad of customer service. Usually they are very understaffed and it takes forever to get checked in for the grooming department. I took my dog here today to get her nails a clipped and grounded. The lady (Sabrina) took her back and after 10 minutes told me that she couldn't do her nails because my dog wouldn't stop shaking. I thought it was a joke because my dog is a 7 pound chihuahua mix and is very well behaved. Pathetic that a "groomer" who is supposed to specialize in this department couldn't hold a 7 pound dog to cut nails. I've never had this happen ever! 1 year ago I would of given this store 5 stars. The only reason I am even going with3 stars is because of the store manager DAVE. Dave has been great over the years, now that he's leaving I can't imagine what will happen. As far as doggie day care, I used to be a big fan and loved bringing my dog here. Then they fired some employee's and recruited what I call ( MEAN GIRLS) because that's what that are, to the pets hotel/doggie day camp. It took less then a month with the new girls running things, for me to remove my dog and never bring him back! They are mean, rude, and nasty. they make fun of customers and talk behind there back and they have NO DOG SKILLS what so ever and have no business running the pet hotel at this location? read more

I was very happy .......until today. I left my pug for the day only to come to pick him up and not see him in the glass enclosed playroom in the front, nor in the rooms seen the video screen. When I asked where he was I was told he was given a " time out due to toy aggression". these are dog experts? Dogs don't understand " time out " and cannot make the connection to what they did wrong to being pulled from the space and locked in a crate. Toys on the other hand DO cause issues and should be removed from the room not the dog. read more

I usually like petsmarts, but I have a bad experience with one of the people who work there. They told me my dog had to leave because he was barking too loud :( I dont think he was being that bad... I brought my 6 month old English bulldog Friday to Petsmart doggie day camp because I heard good things, well.... I dropped him off at 7:30 and they checked him in and all good. I picked him up at 2:00 and they brought me the wrong dog!! They handed the leash to me and walked away. I couldn't get the words out of my mouth that that was the wrong dog. It took about 20 seconds and they grabbed the wrong dog from me and then brought me my dog. They did not care. I asked to speak to a manager and they said there was no manager.... when I came home, I thought about it so I called the place, I got the girl who made the mistake and she said she's not allowed to talk about it. A manager would call me back. No one ever called me....... this is not good. Very poor business. I could of walk out with this dog. Can you imagine this, I asked for a procedure they had and said the tag the dogs and they come off..... very very poor !!! read more

This was probably the worst Petsmart experience I have ever had. I had originally came in to get my dogs nails clipped and it so happened the deal came with a bath. When we first get there the groomer approached my dog aggressively causing her to be scared and timid. We had informed the groomers that our puppy was previously abused and gets scared around new people and they were still reluctant to complete the job I had paid them to do. They call me in the middle of grooming my dog to tell me they are unable to clip her nails because she is to scared.At the end of my three hour ordeal they had washed my dog and clipped ONE paw. When I picked my dog up the groomer Marie continued to tell me how my dog was snuggling with her by the end of the appointment. Unfortunately my dog had left this appointment with one paw clipped because she was apparently to "scared" as the groomer said. I then walked 10 steps over to the vet and they clipped the rest of her paws for $20 no problem. So originally I had went to pay for my dogs nails just to be clipped for $30 but they were unable to complete their job. I highly recommend not attending this PetSmart !! read more

Two weeks ago I went to buy dog food, not cheap dog food, expensive dog food. It was a Sunday and one person was working the check out line. The line was backed up all the way down past aisle two! I made an appointment with Banfield to get my dog his shots. Today they called and wanted me to postpone my appointment I made 2 weeks earlier!! Then they called back and delayed it by 15 minutes! I brought him in today, checked him in and told the person I would be back in about 20 minutes. I came back and was told I needed to check in again and that nothing was done. Rocky my pomerianian does doggy day care there all the time. The staff are SO sweet, they know Rocky on sight and they are always so genuinely happy to see him. It's true Rocky would rather be home but when I have a 12 hour day this place makes it AFFORDABLE and I am so lucky to have them available to help. read more

I have waited two weeks to write this review because I still cannot believe that Pets Mart would allow my pet to be mistreated . I have a Shit Zu and he's my baby boy. I left him boarded and since it was Pets Mart I really thought he was in good hands. I boarded him looking like a dog that just stepped out of a salon but, when I went to pick him up my baby looked like a dog you would see at the pound. I could not believe my eyes. They quickly said that all the yellow on him was because he threw up. As pet parents we know what our pets vomit smells like . I told them that it was not vomit it was definitely urine. The only thing I can think is that they had him sitting in his own urine . I went home bathed him twice and still the yellow remains. Just the thought that my baby who I treat like a king , who sleeps in my bed was treated this way leaves me full of anger. It's been two weeks since this incident and I still can not get past it. The only thing I can do is tell other pet parents out there to keep looking for another place to leave their pet. They paint a pretty picture but, give you the total opposite. No one will take care of our babies like we will but, they should at least have their basic needs met. Good luck to you all on choosing a good boarding place. read more

I disagree with the negative comments posted about Banfield Pet Hospital at PetSmart! My dog has been a patient there since she was a puppy over 6.5 yrs ago and we have always been impressed with the quality of the staff and the facility overall. Yesterday, I rushed my dog there as she vomited blood twice and I was clearly very alarmed! The staff at check in/check out was amazing (Tory and Avi) and Dr. Seerley and Nurse Jackie took care of Lola and did x-ray, blood work and stool exam. They were thorough and so loving and caring! They kept me updated every step of the way and kept her for observation all day. I walked away so impressed with the entire team! Thank you so much! We are so grateful! I highly recommend Banfield Pet Hospital. They have state of the art facilities and technology as it is a large corporation with deep pockets and this is very important to offer the best quality service to their patients. read more

My dog Biggie stayed there for 10 days during XMAS vacation. He is fear aggressive and I was concerned he might snap at another dog or staff member. Somehow I was confident of the professionalism of the staff, they seemed to have a lot of experience handling "difficult dogs." I booked playtime for Biggie thinking that it would probably not work, and they'd have to refund my money when I came back. Instead, I was informed that Biggie was doing great and getting along with other dogs. He wasn't eating so they gave him wet food and made sure he "did his business" three times a day. I am so impressed with the care he received. I called a few times during my vacation to find out about him and the staff gave me detailed progress reports on his behavior and food/potty activities. There is no other place that I would take Biggie, and quite frankly I'd be afraid to leave him anywhere else since he has been known to snap. I can say these people are truly professionals and know what they are doing. Thank goodness for PetSmart Pethotel in Delray!!! read more
