Every since the new store manager started place has declined - new staff are rude at times and so is the new store manager - it makes me Sad to see a place that felt like Home and that I have visited frequently and multiple times a week get turned to crap when she started - she has a huge attitude problem and walks around like she is a CEO- she is grumpy and rude and only cares about herself- God forbid you need help- she often medals around Banfield and worries about their staff more than she needs to instead of doing her own job. read more

I decided to tryout Petsmart in Danvers after going to Petco in Saugus and was greeted by an angry employee who told be to come back later if I wanted to purchase fish or wait 45 minutes to let her finish what she was doing! I chose to leave and not go back! I went to Petsmart in Danvers and I was greeted by a friendly staff who were willing to help me immediately. They help me choose the right fish for my aquarium and they were very knowledgeable. I was able to check out rather quickly. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful... it's always nice conversing with them about eachothers pets. Some have also taken the time to remember my name as I come often. Overall I feel very well taken care of when I shop and love the staff... I know people have their issues with chain pet stores but the staff at this location seems very knowledgeable and seem to make exceptions with things like selling feeder fish for pets other than their intended purpose as long as conditions are okay for them in a pet situation. read more

I've been taking my two toy poodles to Petsmart for over 10 years to get groomed. That practice has come to an end thanks to a horrifying revelation that has come to light. A few weeks ago, my dogs were dropped off for their biweekly appointments. About an hour later, my mother received a phone call from the manager informing her that one dog was rushed to the hospital because his ear was cut by the groomer. When our dogs were retrieved, the victimized one had stitches on his ear and crusty blood in his hair that we reasonably did not expect to be there when we dropped him off for a bath. He is now on antibiotics and has not been his amiable self since the trauma. I only hope the pep is step returns one day. read more

I've been to this Petsmart a few times for my girlfriend's Dogs and Cats and each and every time I've been there I've been blown away by how much the staff knows about their product. Unlike most pet stores, the staff don't seem like typical apathetic minimum wage teenagers, this staff is filled with (apparent) animal lovers and overly friendly people. If I had a pet I would definitely go here. Bonus Point: cat adoption center in-store. Makes me want to get a cat every time. read more

Placed an online order Friday at 9:30am, it said takes about 3 hours to get ready, and my credit card was charged. Went in at 7pm, no order no record of the order. They call a manager, Jeff McLeod, who says it will take about 3 days for my order to come to the store, I can just select my items from the shelf. Not a big deal, get my items and the manager wants me to pay again, I said no I've already been charged, he said I have to pay again then wait 3 days for the order to transmit then cancel to get my money back. I said that was unacceptable that I have to pay twice because of petsmart systems. He then says "I'm not discussing this anymore" he comes out from behind the register take the items out of my hands and walks away. I demanded the corporate office phone number he points to the wall and said the number is on the wall. I call from the store the woman answers and cancels my order. Issues a refund so I can the make my purchase. This manager Jeff McLeod is the poorest excuse for a manager I have ever come across, not once did he try to offer a solution, his response was to take the items and walk away. If you need pet supplies go a couple of miles up the road to Petco avoid this place so you dont have to be subjected to Jeff McLeod. Supposed to get a call from corporate within 48 hours, they have 5 hours left, we shall see. read more

My calm husky went in today to get groomed and I got a call from them saying she was acting out and they couldn't bathe her and finish her appointment. When i got there i was expecting her to be dry since they told me they didn't get to bathe her and she was soaking wet and i had to dry her myself at home. Their reasoning was because she was acting out, but not once did they tell me they had already wet, her entire body fur was soaked. Not bringing her back. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for today at 10 am and at 9 am I've got a call from a representative claiming one of their groomers had a car accident and they will have to cancel my appointment (so I understand that part). I've asked them how soon they can reschedule my appointment considering it was anyhow very hard to even get one scheduled due to the COVID situation. I even had to pull the strings and get my dog to the vet before the appointment so we can have rabies and kennel vaccine done. She said she doesn't know when that would be. With that kind of response, I asked if I should look for a different grooming place and all she said was: "I think you should go to some other place!" and she hung up the phone. She simply left me speechless and with a bad taste! I won't go back ever again and I wonder how they even keep their jobs with this kind of attitude when nowadays it's all about good customer service. Shame on the management! you should really do some retraining on your employees and the way they handle your customers. Well stocked and wide selection of virtually anything you could ever need for your cat or dog, except the cat food aisles seem a little disorganized. They give you a time and the groomer just doesn't show up! If you're groomer is not there they will not take you, even if you have an appointment, then the groomer shows up half hour later than your appointment and they don't even call you to make good. Worst service ever. I had called asking for an appointment, they had a cancellation and told me I could come in. The person that would be grooming was new, the manger said it was ok. Not even five minutes in they called me turning me away with a patch on my dog telling me to come back The next day. disappointment was all over my face and it wasn't until 5 minutes into the conversation that the manager offered to stay later and try and fix it. For someone bragging by about how long they've been working in grooming, my dog was brought back butchered. The worst groom I've ever seen. Totally unprofessional and the person didn't even take care of my dogs dewclaws as I asked. If you're going to brag about how long you've been doing your job, your Work should reflect that and it didn't. I went into the Store with my Boston terrier Aggie. We went straight to the little dog toy aisle that's where we met Luke. He was super friendly and Aggie adored him! He asked how he could help me and I said Aggie and I are buying a toy but we also have an online order he immediately went to find our order. I find the staff here very helpful. I've been in many times. We bought a bearded dragon there. Brandon helped us, made recommendations, and was very informative. We get our puppy groomed here. Suzanne does her grooming. The grooming staff is nice every time I drop her off. They call me when she's ready for pick up and everything is great. She smells great after, look great, they clean her ears and teeth and trim her nails like a queen. I would recommend them. Ample parking lot. read more

I have used petsmart for both my dogs. Today I brought my youngest. She had slight mats on her find legs. I was told she would have to be shaved to 1/8th inch. The last time I brought her here they brushed her out and cut her to 1 inch as I asked. However, this time they actually refused to brush her. I was told she would HAVE top be shaved. Well, I just brought her home and brushed her for 20 minutes. She now doesn't have a single matx but still needs top be cut... Needless to say, none of my dogs will be going to petsmart anymore. I even called and spoke to a manager, but all I for were excuses about why brushing is not party of the service, and if I wanted her brushed out would cost extra (something the girl at the counter didn't mention) Very disappointed with this place, especially after I called for a manager and only got excuses. read more

This place is my go-to when shopping for my cat and dog. They have a lot of cool things to offer. I like that they have a huge variety of pet food. There are several aisles full of different foods; especially the healthier options that you cannot find at your average Wal Mart or grocery store. They also have dog training classes. I have not worked with them before, but every time I see there is a training as I am shopping, the instructor sounds very knowledgeable and respectful. I would considering going there for training in the future. read more

I am extremely disappointed at the grooming department at Petsmart in Danvers Mass. We have a golden doodle who was groomed only 5 weeks ago at Petsmart in Saugus and was not matted even close to bad. She had some matting behind her ears which is typically what she has as she has long hair. We took her in to get washed and TRIMMED. We came back to a dog we didn't even recognize. They shaved all of her hair down to the skin. It is completely unrecognizable and disgusting that they would do this to her without informing the owners before especially when we asked for something completely different and were told it would be fine. Not only does she look like a completely different dog but she was cut on both ears and was bleeding when we picked her up. We will be taking her to the vet to check them out as we were told they were hematomas and we were wrong. We know they are not and we will get them checked to prove so. The groomers said it was our fault and did not take responsibility for their actions and let us pay $110. We knew this is insane and demanded a refund that we later got. DO NOT take your dogs here unless you want them to be mistreated. She is not the same and flinches when she never used to, she is 8 years old. Completely untrained and unsupervised groomers. Should not be trusted. Absolutely disgusted. read more

I took my berniedoodle to get groomed here and specifically told them not to shave her. She is a shaggy dog who just needed a trim and a bath. When I came back to pick her up 5 hours later... what do ya know, she was shaved. I was speechless at the inability to follow such simple instructions. This petsmart is an old petsmart. I found many moths in the bird seed and the milk bones were bad. They would replace them free of charge. Their groomers often cause razor burn when shaving sensitive areas. I have had a free groom from the poor grooming they have done. No customer service, I can never find an associate to help me. They have a nice dog trainer her name is Arlyn and she is very helpfull and courteous in finding items for me. All in all Petsmart is not so smart. I asked for all natural dog food and a man by the name of Tyler recommended Purina Dog Chow to me. When I went over to the Dog Spa in Beverly they sold me on a Dog Food named Orijen, my two dogs are doing great on this food. If you have a grooming at Petsmart, avoid the manager Kate at all costs, always in a bad mood and short temprered, never makes eye contact and looks away from you while speaking. A great place to go is the Essex County Co-op, they bend over backwards and offer fantastic customer service and low pricing on Natural Dog food of which they actually are knowledgeable concerning their all Natural Dog Foods, unlike that Tyler guy at Pet not so smart :-) Davina read more

My super friendly dog who enjoys going to the groomers was terrified. Wasn't very happy with the service and found out prices are a lot more than Petco. I have two dogs, an 8 year old Yorkie mix and a 2 year old cockapoo. We brought our Yorkie mix to pet smart in Salem for years with no issues, so when we moved and the Danvers location was closer, we switched and didn't have any issues until we started bringing our new addition, a cockapoo. Her hair is very thick and very curly and gets matted very easily, so usually we shave her pretty short to keep it under control. The first time we had a problem was when we had her scheduled for a haircut and I mentioned I would like to keep her hair about an inch long- well they said she couldn't do it, they had to shave her... we ended up leaving and called a manager. They were rude and stated they couldn't leave her hair an inch because they'd actually have to brush her our BEFORE the cut, which there was just no time for, sorry! I couldn't believe it. When I make an appointment and you give me a 4-5 hour window and then say there is no time, it just seems absurd. Even after this, we decided to go back as the prices aren't bad and they can generally fit you in within a day or two, HUGE mistake. About a month (maybe a little more?) I brought her in to have her shaved down for the summer. When I got her home I noticed a spot on her back where I could see her skin, I thought it was weird but it didn't appear to be sore or raw so I didn't think they nicked her, I just thought her hair was falling in an odd way. Well, fast forward a few weeks, and her hair started to grow in a dark auburn color (she is an all white cockapoo). So now I definitely believe they nicked her, and hurt the hair follicle. I have been afraid to bring her anywhere since this happened. read more

I don't usually write reviews but I am compelled to warn dog owners to stay clear of Petsmart in Danvers for grooming needs, if you love your pet of course. I have been using their grooming services for some time, never entirely pleased since the quality is never consistent, but always willing to try to make it work. I can accept mistakes, but what is offensive is the poor attitude on behalf of the store and grooming salon management, I have paid in excess of $95.00 for each visit every five weeks and have consistently left a tip of $20.00 with the groomer each time. In return, I (the customer) am the recipient of what I would categorize as deplorable customer service. I can only hope that this review will allow at least one customer the opportuntiy to select a different pet store and grooming experience for your pet. Don't waste your time or money, or subject your loving pet, to this group of unappreciative and uncaring people. GO ELSEWHERE where your business and pet mean something! read more

Took my dog Jake in for a scheduled grooming this morning to store number 792 in Danvers, MA. Waited 15 minutes to be checked in. The groomer Kayla seemed to have trouble finding my dogs record despite being there multiple times (the last visit was 9 weeks ago). Kayla told me I needed to have my rabies certificate as my dogs rabies expired in April. Tried explaining we've been in multiple times since then and brought his rabies records each time, however received nothing but rudeness and was told he could not be taken because even if I ran home to get it, that would take 20 minutes and he would be giving up his spot. Came home and found (at least) two grooming receipts from the end of April and June, as well as Jake's vet record which clearly shows he was given a 3-year rabies 2/16/15. Thanks for not knowing how to do your job Kayla and the crappy attitude to go along with your lack of knowledge. read more
