The store is clean and organized. The staff are friendly. This location does not have a vet on site. So, if your pet needs a prescription food (like mine...), you cannot buy it here. If one could post NEGATIVE stars; I would. My family & I recently relocated to Council Bluffs from the Twin Cities. Today we had our first experience at this PetSmart and it was nothing short of horrendous. As a fish owner for 15+ years of both fresh water & tropical fish I am disgusted in this company for their lack of care when hiring and training employees. I experienced a snotty girl (Abby) who couldn't have been over 17 years old, refuse to sell me goldfish because she didn't like that I was "buying a couple of THEIR cheap plastic fish bowls" demanding sternly "that's not how you care for fish"! Mind you she knew nothing about me, our "fish" situation and didn't bother to ask ANY questions. It didn't matter that I explained to her I had 25+ gallon tanks at home waiting and I knew very well how to care for them. Not to mention an equally as ill trained manager that can't make eye contact or most shameful; corporate headquarters that promised a phone call three times over in the last 6 months but doesn't follow through. This company is SHAMEFUL. No clue how this company is in business. Can't imagine they will be much longer at this rate. DO BETTER PETSMART!!! read more

Overall, have really enjoyed the staff at Petsmart in CB. I have been bringing my two small dogs there since we moved here last year. They do a really great job, care about my dogs, and they are efficient with the time frame it takes to complete grooming services. I never feel like my dogs are waiting there needlessly. Usually takes 2 hours max. My only complaint is that the computer system needs updated... I had a couple times where I got turned away because I forgot to bring a hard copy of proof of vaccinations. I had left it at home, but there was no way to email or upload the document digitally... That turned into them calling my veterinary clinic, with no answer so I had to go home and reschedule. Petsmart should step up their computer system and empower their staff with the ability to receive documents digitally - this is the 21st century after all! read more

Two of my best friends got a kitten this year. Since it's like their kid, I figured I'd get him a Christmas present and drop it off early since it'd be Christmas toys for him to play with. I stopped by the PetSmart in town. This was my first time here, but the signage was helpful and the endcaps contained the cat Christmas toys. I picked out a couple small items for him, and a Christmas laser pointer. The guy at checkout was very polite and seemed to actually be happy to be at work which was a nice change of pace from some people's attitudes I've seen. read more

Had to get kitty litter so we headed over to Petsmart. Masks required and they have a table with masks in case you needed one. They also have hand sanitizer in case you wanted some. Same set up as other locations so we knew where to go. They did have the litter we wanted - catattract- so we were in luck. Some others were sold out. The store appeared clean which was nice. And there is parking out front. Short wait at the cash register and then we were done. read more

The manager has an attitude and raised his voice at me when I called to say we should have been told that there was a call in so we could have rescheduled rather than sitting and waiting for 30 minutes. I have been visiting this PetSmart branch for a few years now and have never seen it run so bad. some days ago I was in store to get some products, when i asked an employee named Veronica for help she disrespectfully rolled her eyes and called for someone else to come help instead. i have recently viewed management at this store yelling at employees inappropriately during my visit. It's sad to see this in modern times, management should be about building up employees , not berating them, and sadly this store will no longer be receiving my patronage if they are just going to treat their employees and customers in this manner. it is very disappointing. read more

I did not even want to give one star! First I was charged more then what it said on the app. And then was also charged and extra $15 for brushing without be told. But then when I pick my dog up the grooming was awful! A big chunk out of hair was missing above right eye. (Ok not big deal, maybe she moved her head at that point) But the left side was still super long, at least try to fix it! And on her back side again, one side was way longer then the other side. Brandi K takes the extra care with Tillie above and beyond. Always groomed perfect with an added bonus she puts ribbons in each ear. She is the BEST and I wouldn't go to anyone else!! Used to go to them before Covid and just now saw I could book online again! My dogs got the best haircuts and all the groomers were very sweet! The groomer also listened to my requests and made sure everything was done perfectly. I'm happy to be able to go there again and make my appointments on their website read more

As an absolute animal lover, I love going to PetSmart. Going through the toy and bone isles, (with or without my pooches), and seeing if I can find anything good for my puppies. I also love watching the groomers groom the dogs. PetSmart always seems to have what I am looking for, from Ferret food and litter to kitty shampoo and treats. My only gripe is the price, and I'm not sure if I need to hold PetSmart accountable for that or the industry but $8 for a regular size rawhide bone is kind of ridiculous, which is why I often buy stuff at PetSmart when its on sale. But taking trips to PetSmart is always fun as I love seeing what animals people are going to bring in. And what can I say, I love spoiling my pets. Be smart, go to PetSmart! PetSmart is fine for pet supply shopping, but not great at all if you're looking for a pet. The first time I got a guinea pig from PetSmart 3 years ago everything was great. The second time the guinea pig came home with ringworm that began showing a day or two after coming home. I called and let them know so they could treat them. The third time I adopted a guinea pig with PetSmart and the gender was wrong. It's really not that hard to sex a guinea pig, and it definitely wasn't with this one. They told me it was a female, all the paperwork said female, they don't allow handling because of covid. They put it in a box and I took it home. Ten minutes after having him at home.... That's a boy. Just be careful, and either triple check any friend you get or just adopt from somewhere better. read more

I was very disappointed that they didn't keep aspirin or pain medication in stock at their store. When I asked the lady at the front for the pain medication, she just waved her hand and pointing in that direction without offering any help. The other lady that I approached was a lot more attentive, but she did disclose that they don't keep pain med in stock. I called Petco and they always keep theirs in stock! Our dog was recently groomed and has little knicks here and there, like the clippers were dull and he was trimmed aggressively. The groomer gave us some story about how he was snippy and uncooperative. We've never heard this about him before. He's been groomed here before and it was OK. For animals or quick supplies, this is the place to go. I don't like that sometimes their ad fish are not well stocked. They get fish shipments every Friday. They said their last shipment was bad, so I went in today and they still didn't have the fish from their advertisement. I wish, too, that they carried larger size cat and fish food. Last, they're checkout line is only ever one person and eventually they get a second one to help out. read more

Surprisingly, I thought I would be doing more of my shopping for our newest furry friend at more privately owned small shops to avoid corporate, but most of our purchases were through Amazon and PetSmart. Selections for dogs was plentiful and we left with all the start up goods to give our newest love all the things he needs to thrive. They have a good return policy- even for used or open items if you return in the original packaging. This was helpful when we were not able to select the correctly sized harness before having him present and with us. They also offer grooming and obedience classes, which we are looking into for the near future. read more

PetSmart has one of the greatest puppy/dog trainers. I've taken classes for over a year to learn as much as possible. Susie is an expert. She's patient, kind, flexible, and fun. Each week, I practice with my puppy the exercises that Susie teaches. A few minutes of practice performed a couple times a day has earned my dog the Canine Good Citizen certificate. I love Petsmart and even prefer them over their competitor. They are a little pricey but always have good deals, sales, and coupons. I used to get my dogs groomed here, but it runs a little pricey- about $50 for a small dog. S.O.L.A.S. has cats to be adopted! The cages are a little small and sometimes cats are left there for over a month. Then what happens? Kind of sad to see them in there. read more

I started taking my puppy to the PetSmart groomers to get him used to going out, meeting new people, and also because he wouldn't let me trim his nails for anything. After talking to a friend who used to work at this particular store, she assured me that he'd be in good hands, and that for a low price, I could do a bath and nail trimming. Scheduling my appointment on the app was easy, they called to confirm the day before, and when I took him in, they were just as nice as they could be. Chuck loves going in and meeting the groomers as well as saying hello to other dogs. And I don't have to worry about trimming his nails myself! Win! **Edited to Add** (6/4/2018) The groomers are so awesome, and they remember the dogs they see. Chuck and I were waiting in line to see the Easter Bunny, and one of the groomers recognized him, and he, her. Last summer we started taking training with Susie, and went through Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Agility/Trick training. Susie is patient, friendly, and knows how to get dogs to do what they need to do. Chuck passed Canine Good Citizen, and he's just the imperfect little friend. The classes helped us communicate, which is what I wanted. Love this Petsmart, and I'm sad to be moving out of town. read more

I am completely disappointed with the grooming at this Petsmart location. I use to live in Cedar Falls, and loved going to Petsmart for my dogs grooming needs. We called the Council Bluffs Petsmart and the lady that answered was so rude, and obviously didn't care. We asked if they could transfer our dogs information from one store to another and she blew off my questions and rudely asked what I was calling about because she didn't have any opening until Wednesday. I understand that people have bad days, but that was so unprofessional. I love Petsmart over any other pet supply store, but for now the grooming has lost my business. read more

This PetSmart was definitely not my favorite! The grooming area was dirty and the staff was rough with my dog. My dog had razor burns on him when I picked him up and seemed very irritated. I will not be using the grooming service again, but might consider shopping here again in a few months time. read more

Today i went to petsmart to get my 3.5month old poodle groomed.. The lady was very rude and said they they didnt have anything until 1.5weeks they r open 12 hours a day dont tell me that.. Said she needs a rabies shot and the vet wont do it till shes 6months.. I have never heard of this age needing that.. this lady said they were full and 2mins after we left she finished the dog she had and was doing nothing how is it she didnt have time.. She had 1.5 hours to groom my puppy.. Never again will i even go to this location.. The way she spoke to me was very unprofessional.. I will go to another store.. read more

I went in with my 10 year old daughter to buy a goldfish. She picked out a $3 goldfish. When we asked to purchase it we were met with a "how big is your fish tank " question. This seemed odd to me and I said I didn't know how big it was. I was told I could not purchase the fish unless I had a 29 gallon tank. A 29 gallon tank for a single $3 goldfish?! At this point we were joined by a second associate who reiterated that they would NOT sell me the fish as "they want their gold fish to be happy." Are you crazy? This is a goldfish that is currently being kept in a small 5-7 gallon tank at your store with maybe 10 other fish. Needless to say I left with a crying little girl and went directly to another pet store and bought my daughter a goldfish. I will never buy an animal at this store again. I have returned to the store in order to buy crickets for my other animals and this poor fish remained in that very small tank, never being purchased while our new fish has been swimming happily around in our tank ever since. . read more
