A couple years ago, my cat was going through a bad spell where she kept pulling out her fur. Dr. Emily was great with her, which is hard to do, as my cat doesn't like anyone. Alright, so picture this: You walk…read moreinto a veterinarian clinic and the first thing you notice is the less-than-welcoming smell hitting you like a wave -- a mix of disinfectant and something you can't quite place but definitely don't want to. The waiting room is crowded, chaotic with anxious pets and their equally stressed owners. The receptionist is nowhere to be seen, and when she does appear, she's frazzled and very rude. When you finally get to see the vet, they seem rushed, barely giving you time to explain what's wrong before they're suggesting tests and treatments without much explanation. The doctor strohbehn seems like the only professional part to this place. After a quick and somewhat dismissive check-up, you're handed a bill that makes your eyes water, and you leave feeling like just another number rather than a valued client. It's the kind of place you'd tell your friends to avoid if they care about their pet's well-being and want a vet who's as compassionate as they are competent.

Our dog is very fearful at the vet, and Dr. Emily handles him with so much patience and intention. She actually sits down on the floor with him to help him feel safe, which says a lot about how she approaches care. It never feels rushed or clinical in a cold way -- it feels thoughtful. I also really appreciate the small details, like writing each animal's name on the check-in board. It's such a simple touch, but it makes the whole visit feel more personal. Pricing has been about average compared to other clinics in the area, and scheduling appointments is usually straightforward and easy. If you have an anxious pet and want a team that takes the time to make them comfortable, this is a great place to consider.

I don't know what changed, but about a month ago my dog started having some issues and they offered to send me estimates for different options for him. I never received these estimates. I reached out asked them for these estimates 6 total times over call, text and even in person and never received them. In the meantime my dog's condition has significantly gotten worse- which I had repeatedly told them when asking for the estimates. Fast forward to now, i've called them several times to ask for the estimate, and now to get his records so I can take him to a different vet. They won't answer any of my phone calls. I left a voicemail asking for his records and explaining that I am going to have to take him to a new vet because of their lack of communication. They finally sent me his records, but didn't acknowledge anything I had said in the voicemail. I honestly have no idea what I did to deserve them essentially ghosting me, but I am so so disappointed because I really did like them as my vet.

These girls are the sweetest piggies, and I would do anything and everything for them to ensure they have the best care. Recently, one of my girls developed a large abscess under her chin. I called my usual vet clinic only to be informed they do not have a vet to treat "exotic" animals. They're an amazing clinic but I was shocked to hear that a vet office did not treat any species besides cats and dogs. I was panicking because I knew my primary vet was very understanding of my recent financial struggles and no other vet would trust me like they did. Without going into personal detail on this review, I reached out to a few small animal rescues for help. Only one got back to me. I was not asking for any free services, just some advice/guidance/resources for help. I had no idea how few vets work with small animals. The rescue gave me information and i remembered that with my childhood guinea pigs, we used to take them to Best Care for vet appts. I took a shot in the dark and called them. They got me in for an appt the next morning. I was very honest about my financial difficulties, but also that I was also willing to do whatever I needed to in her best interest. Not to be blunt, but I was fully expecting to hear that due to her age/breed that she was hopeless. I was honest with the doc and staff. I told them I truly wanted what was best. I don't want her to suffer so I don't have to. Dr. Bremen was very understanding and gave options that were best for my piggie. I was given facts and her true opinion that these treatments are worth it for my piggies best interest. Ironically, it turns out she was even the vet that answered the questions for the people at the rescue that I had contacted prior! How cool is that?! We are continuing treatment for my piggie, and she has continued to be honest but also willing to give my sweet girl the chance she deserves to fight! Again, I do not expect any free services or discounts, however they have been so mindful of making sure to handle all treatments graciously and reasonably. I cannot thank Best Care enough. As soon as I am back on my feet, I look forward to donating back to them for patients in similar situations as me. Please keep up the amazing work you all do, and I hope you never go unappreciated!!!

Instead of acknowledging that, she instantly dismissed my concerns as if they didn't matter simply because it had already happened. This place clearly has no regard for the wellbeing of its animals, and the way they treat their customers is just as disappointing. I'm honestly outraged. The second time we got a call 30 minutes later that Mabel wasn't cooperating. We understand and took off work to pick her up. The last experience was the deal breaker. We set up our appointment online, took off work, and got Mabel medicated. Upon dropping her off we were told they weren't grooming that day. When we called the owner and asked about the miscommunication over the website we were very disappointed at her reaction. Instead of apologizing and making it right she chose to lecture us about her need for a vacation. It would have been an easy fix and we would have been understanding bc we know everyone deserves a break, but after that reaction and lack of accountability we have decided we will take Mabel elsewhere moving forward.
