I called to make an appointment for my dog and specifically asked for a CUT and shampoo. When I got there the woman asked what do I want and I said I need all the hair CUT off his butt, under his belly and around his face. Two hours and $44 later I pick him up, not one hair on my dog had been cut. I asked why they didn't cut his hair when I was very specific about the hair cut I wanted. The woman said you didn't tell us you wanted a hair cut. I said "what are they talking about we had two conversations about it when I made the appointment and when I brought my dog in." She said for an additional fee they will do it. The stylist was Lauren, I will never come her again. read more

Location is easy to access with ample parking and perfect to reach as you run errands or make a special trip. My boyfriend needed some supplies for the Day Gecko he recently got, but we've been in before for supplies for my betta fish & his roommate's golden retriever. They've got a great selection to pick from for all pets, but definitely has the most variety for cats and dogs unsurprisingly. The reptile section was pretty small, but thankfully we were still able to find the calcium boost he needed along with smaller crickets. Like many other places, it seems like they're dealing with a staffing shortage. Only one person was working the register, and when we needed assistance with the crickets there was only one associate available who was also helping 2 other families with fish purchases at the time. read more

Grooming appointment bad from the start. I was booked wrong at the call center. Get to the salon 15 minutes early, after discovering that it was booked incorrect, they said I would have to wait 3 hours to "get it worked in" . This was not my fault as I attempted to tell them, they didn't seem to care in the least. Spoke to the manager on duty Lindsay who obviously had the same attitude. Avoid this store at all cost, unless you prefer to be spoken to like a 3rd class citizen or worse. read more

This location is just south of Westfield Countryside Mall in Clearwater on the east side of US Hwy 19. We stopped by to see what sort of selection they had for cat brushes/combs. Happily, they had a great selection. We did find one that suited our needs. The store was clean and the staff were friendly. I can definitely recommend this location. read more

My dog Ginger,in typical chihuahua fashion is very nervous around strangers. She sheds constantly and her nails grow like weeds. Had the best experience ever when she was bathed and groomed with the furminator. Bee was so gentle with her even before taking her back. No shakes from Ginger! That's the best first sign!! Upon my return they brought Ginger out to me. We had to wait a bit to check out and Ginger actually laid down by my feet and was very content instead of pulling at the leash to leave!! She looks beautiful and smells wonderful!! Thanks to everyone in the grooming department, especially Bee! I will be bringing Ginger back !! read more

I recently adopted a dog from the Tampa Bay SPCA located in Largo, FL, based on a listing I saw on Petfinder.com. There is a large banner and promotion on the Petfinder website for a starter kit if you adopt an animal. Adopted our dog on Sunday, signed up for kit through Petfinder on Monday, and on Tuesday, I went to the PetSmart on Gulf to Bay with my coupons (2 free bags of food, 20% off, etc etc) and was met with the rudest, nastiest service I've *ever* experienced. I got my free bag of food and some toys and went to the cashier. The cashier said that she didn't think she could take these coupons because there was a bunch of them that were fake. She called the manager who came up and, with one of the nastiest attitudes ever, didn't imply, didn't suggest, but outright stated that the coupons I had were fakes that I either faked myself or stole. She said she's never heard of "PetFinds" and there is no such promotion. She suggested I "get in touch with whoever sent you these coupons" and let them know they're fake. Yeah. Petfinder. Never heard of it. No idea where I"d get the notion that they have a FREE KIT FOR NEWLY ADOPTED PETS because gosh, it's not like it's RIGHT THERE ON THE WEBSITE. I pulled up the 2 emails I had gotten -- one from Petfinder on Monday with the link to the coupon, and another that came on Tuesday morning from Purina (the other sponsor of the program) reminding me to print my coupons. She said "yeah, those aren't real, those aren't real emails." She just kept telling me that they were fake, and that I was knowingly presenting fake coupons. I even offered to pull the coupons up on my phone and use them but she refused. Angered, I go home and call Petsmart customer service which, if nothing else, at least should be given mega kudos for hiring the profoundly disabled and otherwise unemployable. This shining star had never heard of PetFinding either and had no earthly idea what coupons I was talking about. None whatsoever. I said "trust me, this isn't some secret hidden thing. It's very prominent on the website. And the website is well known." She was skeptical but probably is only used to websites that advertise cartoons or that teach basic geometric shapes. So while I wouldn't have NOT adopted my awesome dog if I knew I was going to be called a thief and a liar by a night-manager at Petsmart, it would be nice if I wasn't treated like a toothless meth addict for presenting legitimate coupons from a legitimate website. I mean, I was getting a free bag of $12 dog food and a chew toy. Hardly clearing out the store and giggling at my ill-gotten gains. Horrible service, and as an aside, ridiculously overpriced. read more

I recently adopted 2 dogs that need to be professionally groomed. I've been taking Tank and Chewy to Petsmart for a couple months now. Mary is amazing. This is the only PetSmart I'll go to! Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. The store is always clean and well stocked. They have the only grooming salon I'll trust with my dog. Mary is THE greatest groomer! She's been taking care of my dog since she was a puppy (she's 4 now) and I won't trust anyone else! Now that my grandparents also adopted a dog, of course we take her to see Mary for all of her grooming needs. Like any PetSmart this is a very large box store with many items from food to toys. I am pretty sure one location really does not differ from the other except maybe personnel. With that said I have always found the employees extremely helpful, friendly and polite. Perhaps my one gripe is it is a little mish mash with the last actions of items and when you need to find something in a rush the store is so large that employees are hard to find. What is awesome is they have provided almost 11,000 adoptions at time of this review. Many of which come from Pinellas Animal Services that will put pets down. read more

Came in here once a few months ago to look around, and the state of the fish tanks were deplorable! There were dead fish in EVERY tank, multiple dead fish at that, and very obvious fish rot on many of the fish in these tanks! Absolutely terrible how they treat their not so furry friends.... I tried to get my dogs nails done here once not knowing that vaccinations are required for even a NAIL TRIM. I think that policy is stupid which is why I mention it, but they would have one star if not for how polite the employees were when talking me through this! read more

Mary is the best groomer and I trust no one else with my babies! She takes such good care of them and takes the time to make sure they are comfortable and not scared. I had checked out Walmart limited number of flimsy beds, my dog hated it. I picked out a fluffy one for under $20 I figured I could put the flimsy one over it as long term protection with his dog blanket. I grabbed a bunch of new toys on the way out. Shame on the two women that were working 15 minutes before close yesterday/Sunday March 22... I had a handful of stuff and I walked up and put it on the belt and couldn't find my debit card so I started looking through my purse for my card. The woman who is checking out in front of me was about 5 feet ahead and she worked at the store so she must've just gotten off work. While purposely talking very loudly, the cashier says loud enough for me to hear " if the CDC comes in here and people aren't 6 feet apart they could shut us down" And the other woman checking out says "yeah well tell the customers that. They are supposed to stay behind the blue line". And the cashier says " they are there supposed to stand behind the blue line. We will get shut down at the CDC comes in here". I looked, and I am 1 foot above the blue line I guess I'm supposed to be standing behind? I was just at a different Petsmart before and there was no blue line. Nor is there a sign saying to stand behind it. Yet, these two 30+ year old women are talking crap about me in front of me so I can hear. I didn't know there was a blue line to stand behind as I had my hands full. Nor would I have really known what it was for anyway. I will never go back to this Petsmart again and put up with disgusting rude employees. The Petsmart in Trinity is my home store and they greet me with a smile and use my first name every time they see me walk in. They don't try to make customers feel stupid. I always donate cans of cat food for the kitties there and I also went outside to the donation bin and donated over $1000 worth of clothing to goodwill that still had the tags on it. I don't need this s**t. I spend hundreds of dollars at Petsmart every month. I wish I had gotten their names because I'd report them to corporate. If they don't like working around people, they should get different jobs. Absolutely disgusting and childish behavior. Go back to high school. read more

We never use PetsMart for food shopping anymore. We get our cats' food and litter online because it's much cheaper than we can ever find it here. Generally the only reason we come to this store is fish supplies. Their filters, food, and water conditioner are pretty par for the course price-wise. The store is generally pretty clean and the staff are so-so. Some are great but most just seem to be filling a post. Few smile, even fewer acknowledge you when you enter. The manager I met (they were apparently short staffed and he was filling in) seemed like a nice guy. My biggest gripe about this and all PetsMart stores is their fish section, which is the sole reason I go anymore. While they do have a pretty wide selection of fish, there's a big problem: a good portion of them are dead. It apparently doesn't seem like a big deal because most of them are just left floating at the top getting sucked against the filters. I know most of them are just a couple dollars in value, but imagine going in to buy a puppy and seeing two dead ones in the cage with the one you want to buy. They're still animals. This leads me to believe they don't treat or care for their tanks well at all, and these dead fish are infecting the rest of the live ones. The few times I've mistakenly persisted in buying fish, it's almost impossible to get an employee to help without going to the register and asking for someone to meet me in the fish section. Given the way they handle their tanks, I've decided to start going to a local fish store in Oldsmar, more than 30 minutes farther from home, who handle their tanks much better. read more

My wife and I have a fresh water fish tank and we are always on the prowl for new fish friends. We have been to multiple petsmarts in the area and I have to say that their aquatic department is on point. All the fish look alive and and healthy and, all their tanks are well maintained. The staff is always available and very friendly. If they are very busy they acknowledge all waiting customers to assure they will be helped shortly. Its definitely a great place to pick up some fish. read more

Standard petsmart w/ a banfield medical (good so you can get flea meds). Also highly recommend their grooming services. My pet never comes home with fleas and they do a great cut on him. I know he's hard to handle as he hates to get his hair cut, but they get the job done anyways :) HIs paws come out perfectly groomed - its so cute!! It was the 4th of July, and it suddenly became apparent that my dog needed a Thundershirt. I went online to PetSmart and ordered one for an in-store pickup. I did not get a confirmation email, but headed to the store anyway. The minute I walked up to Matt's checkout stand he saw me looking at my phone, and asked if I had a in-store pickup. He immediately checked his pad, walked to the back of the store, and brought my item. All I had to do was sign for it. YAY MATT! With that kind of customer service I will definitely be back! read more

This is the first time I've seen her so she must be new. She was completely clueless on dog food and any other products I had questions about. She also had a snooty attitude with me. i had a very question experience at this particular petsmart. I was by someone in the fish department that beta fish get along with only certain types. So i bought one and put it in with my 2 snails. Immediately he start nipping at their meat and i was pretty distraught about so i brought fish back and asked for the store manager. When she came out she told that betas get fine with snails and she said she's never heard that before and that betas and snails were fine together. So i took it back home, put them back together and by morning he was attacking the snail so bad and i was devasted. That manager obviously doesnt know what she's talking about. I even googled and it said to NEVER put betas and snails together! Other than that everybody else has nice and helpful. Its just manager made a big mistake and is misinformed read more

Poor customer service. This applies to every employees that I have encountered with in the last 17 months. I've been going to Petsmart & Banfield for 15 years. For the past year, I've been buying cans of Royal Canin Mature dog food. The store doesn't carry that many can so that makes it so inconvenient. I like to buy 2 packs (24 cans) if possible. I have a baby, and when he was a newborn it was not easy to put a car seat inside the cart and tried to load up 12-24 cans of dog food. If I used my son's stroller, I wouldn't also be able to fit that many cans in it. No one ever offered to help. Anytime at check out, no cashiers would ever offer help. And even if I had to make multiple trips to my car, they just stood there with no concerns. Today I preordered online and went to pick up 11 cans. I asked the guy who handed me the order if he had a big plastic bag he could put the cans in it. The answer was no. My right arm was carrying a 17 month old toddler. Both my arms were trying to carry those 11 cans in a tray. He offered NO help. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience! As a PetsPerk Member, I generally buy $150 to $200 per shopping trip. Today was no exception. I took extra time, when loading the cart with the many varieties to write down exactly how many cans, trays, or pouches of the various Fancy Feast food I had, plus total each up and place with the appropriate coupons. Prior to checkout I alerted the checkout girl that I wanted to ensure the $20 off $100 of a particular variety of FF being purchased, as it is quite expensive. She assured me, as we went along, that all coupons were honored EXCEPT the one I was most concerned about. She called the manager while saying that the store generally matches whatever is advertised online. In this case, the manager said he would NOT honor it, because I did not first purchase it online for pick-up in the store. Then I said -- trying to be reasonable -- that they could REMOVE the FF medley cases [5 of them], total up the remainder of my order, and then I would step out of line and place the order ONLINE for the 5 cases, using the same credit card, and show him my online receipt, at which time he could reload the cart with the 5 cases and I would be on my way. He told me that was not possible, b/c he had to see the receipt at HIS end, which would take an hour, so if I wanted the 5 cases, I would have to order online and come back to the store an hour later [making a second trip] and pick up the remaining food. At that point -- having had two other experiences in the last year where I left the store and after getting home realized I had been over-charged [not getting in-store advertised prices] -- I told him he just lost a $225 order by refusing to honor a $20 discount. I will NOT be returning to this store...EVER. I have reprinted this review and filed it as a complaint with PetSmart. read more

Well was bringing my shitzu there for about a year most of the time we had great service an my dog was always done good even with his attitude if you treat him mean he gets mean otherwise hes a people lover male an female , well this last time I took him he was al upset an mean I asked what happened an was told he was growling at his groomer (Jennet ) well I got him outside an was upset to see he was shaved bald all around his backside an his face wasn't trimed nor was his nails done he had a gash on his snout , also flea on him an was scratching real bad he wasn't in this shape before hes a indoor dog an has flea treatment once a month seems like they really aren't up to par with cleaning their work stations mgt was rude when I complained an I left the store to avoid a confratation , when I called back an spoke with another mgt she said i would have to pay medfild their vet to look at my dog an they wont refund or change anything , well they lost at least 700. a year in my business beware of jennet the groomer who works there !!! read more
