Have been going to this location for several years. New owner last year and in the fall experienced issues with services. Always paid in full and alerted to concerns last two times with no resolution or offer to correct. Took several months off to allow hair to grow out even and get a fresh grooming start. Owner and team agreed that they saw my notes on account, then the day I brought in I discussed again concerns and history. Came to pick up and had an additional $40 charge for mat removal, that was not discussed or called to me. They stated we don't call to alert to additional cost/fees..WHAT? So, no need to address the cost associated to the service, I am just expected to cover no discussion? Please note, if called I would have approved if I understood the need, but while there could be areas to remove it was not anything of known nature or huge impact. Outcome: Poor Communication, Lack of corrective action when concerns presented and up charges for items not discussed. Be aware, services were wonderful until mid 2024 now I am questioning my provider options. read more

Wow! I'm lost for words! My fur baby has never looked SOOOO GOOD! Kristen is absolutely AMAZING! Even though my baby wasn't so nice to her (I'm so sorry Kristen :( ) she was sweet, caring and loving to my baby. She made him look amazing, he is a Havantzu, Havanese with Shih tzu, so his hair gets really matted and tangled. She cleaned him up and you can tell he feels so much better. I am SO impressed with this dog grooming business! My daughter's small dog was very matted. She is also an extremely fearful dog and cries like a maniac whenever we have taken her to groomers. In fact, when we have taken her elsewhere in the past, they also always needed an extra few hours and many more dollars than originally requested to complete the job. We didn't really expect much different from this place, we had tried so many others. When we brought Luci in to be groomed she was doing her usual terrified scream/crying. The grooming itself took about an hour and a half from when we brought her in. No extra time or up-charges. When my husband picked her up, she was beautifully groomed, no nicks, smelled great and was sporting an adorable bandana. The most surprising thing was - Luci is usually angry for the rest of the day after getting groomed and barks at every little thing. Luci came home clean, beautiful, and CALM!!! Amanda at Hairy Hound is my go to person to groom my 2 yorkie boys. She is the best groomer that we have encountered. If she leaves, I would be crazy enough to follow her even if out of state. Prices are reasonable: $49 for full grooming for a small dog. They usually come out smelling like coconut shampoo with a fun bowtie or bandana for the boy fur babies. Best groomers ever! Our German Shepherd, Reagan, always comes out looking and smelling great! German Shepherd are tough because of their double coat and excessive shedding. This is my third time bringing my 8 month old puppy here. I am utterly disappointed in their customer service. I ask every time how long it will take and they say couple of hours. This time they said the same thing. I get there early because I am driving all the way from South Tampa in the middle of my work day. I wait in the car and I decide to call them after it's been 2 and half hours. I am then told she's going to be another 30 minutes or so. My beef is this... you call your clients when you are running late, whether it's five minutes or 5 hours. Things happen people get behind, it happens BUT call your clients letting them know period! Point blank I do not spend my money at establishments that do not respect their clients time. I have been a business owner for over 10 years and customer service which includes communicating with your clients on time frames is critical to having happy repeat customers. Very pleased with my first visit to the Hairy Hound! Ruth was amazing with my Baby and amazing with her nervous mom as well. This was my Maltese puppies first grooming and due to a lot of factors she was pretty matted. Most places wanted to shave her even Ruth mentioned it but was willing to work her magic and work on her gently and slowly to see if we could avoid shaving. I was so pleased she was able to completely de mat her! She came out fluffy, smelling good, mat free and even her little eyes were a lot cleaner from tear stains. From the minute I walked in i could feel the vibe was very positive and very caring. Also very busy which means they must be very good and very popular :) When Ruth took my baby in her arms I fully expected Martini to freak out with one of her separation anxiety fits but she sat there calmly looking at me with a puppy smile which made me feel so comfortable leaving her in their care. They also listened to my requests regarding cut and didn't just do whatever they wanted which I am happy about. The prices are also very reasonable and they seem very knowledgeable and professional. Took both my canines in for a thorough grooming. It was a stress-free trip for both canines (one of which had never been to a professional groomer before), and for myself as well. The shop is on the small side, which I like! The staff are personable and both the dogs liked them straight away, which is a minor miracle already. My 6 year old Shih Tzu, Chocky, and I love The Hairy Hound! As a new dog owner, I initially took my dog to PetSmart to get his hair cut, but it was ridiculously priced for all that they did just because he is a Shih Tzu. Here, at The Hairy Hound, the prices are reasonable (based on size) for such quality work on Chocky. Booking is easy, either through calling or online, and I love that convenience! Most of the times, I can book appointments within 2 days because we don't have a favorite stylist, so someone is almost available (and they all do such a great job). Whenever we enter, we are always happily greeted and Chocky is never nervous, so I feel at ease leaving him there.
