Teddy Bear and his perfect hair cut!!!!
SueAnn A.

PetSmart did the very best cut on my Bichon! We have been to a couple recommended dog groomers and was so disappointed and asked a man at the park who he uses and said "PetSmart ". The price was right too! Thank you Teddy will be back!! He smells so nice too!

As a customer I'm appalled and disgusted by the attitude and behavior of the staff. Specifically the closing team on 9/19/2020. I arrived at the store to purchase some food for my cat. I was there about 5 minutes before closing. The automatic door was turned off. The staff could see me at the door a full 5 minutes before they were closed but pretended I was not there. I knocked on the door for a few minutes. Even tried to call the store. They ignored me. Why are they trying to close early? Why didn't they want another customer to come in and buy something? This is a business right? Wondering if it was actually locked I half heartedly tried to pull the door open. It was unlocked. In an "oh shit" moment an employee rushed over to tell me they were closed. Since it still was not yet 9pm I told him I should at least be able to buy the catfood I came for since they're supposed to be open for another 2 minutes and then he says "ok just 2 minutes" like he's doing me some big favor. Can't believe these guys. Do they not want to sell catfood and pet supplies? Despite the BS and hoops I had to jump through to become a customer and make a purchase I still got out of there at 9pm but I won't be returning to this store again because this experience sucked and made me feel awful.

This review is purely for my experience at the GROOMING SALON 1/21/2022 at 10am (picked up at 2pm). At drop off I had asked for tips and tricks to help with getting out mats on my long hair dog (he is a rescue I've had 3 months and am still learning) and instead was given a rude response by one of the ladies (NOT Payton or Danielle, these two girls were kind) who stated my dogs mats were "horrible" and I would "need to pay $40 an hour more just to brush out the knots". I informed her I was short on money and asked for an alternative when she rudely stated i would need to get him trimmed. Eventually I agreed when I was informed it would only be no more than an inch. Before leaving the lady made a snide comment to my dog (not even to me), saying something along the lines of "hopefully you do well (my dogs name) because you've been stressful before". Now this would be my third time coming to them and not once did they ever mention anything about his behavior while grooming, just happily took my money and pushed me away without any comments or notes. After leaving the drop off I instantly got hit with regret, but decided to keep him there to help him find relief from these "horrible mats" he had. Four hours later I get the call: "we have a couple things to discuss, we were unable to bathe your dog, you won't be paying for this appointment, we rescheduled him for next week" (Paraphrased and shortened). I get there and I couldn't even recognize my own dog. He was shaved down to his skin, had knicks on his back, his nub (he has no tail) and on his stomach. The shave was uneven and parts of him weren't even touched. There was zero communication from anyone at the salon during the four hours he was there... I would have never agreed to shave him bare or have him go through that torture. Who knows how they treated him. After crying the whole way home, my partner saw our dog and was appalled. Knowing I was too nice to confront anyone, she called and spoke to the store manager. The store manager was amazing and went above and beyond to help amend the situation. All in all I will never trust my dog at this GROOMING SALON again. The name of the groomer on the appointment online was Shannon, but I have no idea who actually took care of my dog cause I initially scheduled with Payton and Danielle was the one who took my dog back/returned him. Otherwise, my experiences with the trainer have been phenomenal. The cashier staff is always polite. And the store manager was very accommodating.

Chester thinks Star is a rock star

Just got back from the PetSmart on Forest Ave in Chico CA to the grooming center. Star is the person who usually does the grooming for us. Star did a fabulous job doing a pawdicure for Chester our beloved border collie. This is the only place we get Chester groomed since they do such a fantastic job.

This Petsmart grooming is awesome! My little Shih Tzu Maisie was well over due for a grooming including her fur being matted well Rebecca did an awesome job! And Maisie is so happy now ! Thank you Rebecca!

Not great in most situations, scary in others :( He has a very sweet nature at home, but his and my quality of life was suffering due to his extreme reactivity to other dogs. Fun relaxing walks would quickly turn into stress-filled episodes of vicious lunging, snapping, and barking at other dogs. He is small but very frightening! I had dreamed of running through forests and fields, roaming everywhere with my little best friend. It just wasn't happening, it was stressing everyone out, we received glares and disapproving glances on the trails. I felt terribly embarrassed and wondered if there was any hope. I was pretty disappointed as I tried to accept our fate. Then we found High Tail. The results were miraculous, Max can now co-exist in peace with other dogs and doesn't even react anymore! I needed to understand how to work with his issues so he could recover and learn to trust. He needed kindness, understanding, and consequences. He is a special dog with a unique past and I think High Tail understood him and could gauge just how much work he could handle in training so he wouldn't get stressed. They keep it positive and make sure your dog is having a good time while learning. It was a great experience and I highly recommend them. They can probably help with most problems pretty quickly, I was extremely impressed and grateful that Max and I have a new life ahead full of doggy playtime and walks. Thank you High Tail!

Their support didn't end at pick-up--they still check in, guide me, and make sure we're thriving. I've come to them twice, and I'd return again without question. My dog was dehydrated to the point of his skin was peeling off by the time he came back and yes the trainer admitted the withhold water to prevent them from needing to go pee as often (excuse me but what the F?!). Of course they convinced us that he needed to stay for an extra week, being extremely pushy about it using sales tactics that one would expect from a scammy dog trainer. They used an e collar even though we would never have agreed to them using that. Our poor dog came back traumatized. I wouldn't trust my worst enemies dog with ireeny (maybe ireenie?). Either way when we brought this up to managment ofcourse as one would expect it was all excuses. BUT the owner or whoever it was that's in charge was nice enough to offer one on one in Person training lesson to make up for it, which doesn't take back the weeks of torture my dog went through being actually electrocuted and dehydrated but the craziest part was the owner never bothered following up and keeping her promise. Trust me if you love your furry little friends stay far away. Nothing professional about this place. 4k dollar down the drain. My first dog was trained so unbelievably amazing by someone who very obviously loved their job. Unfortunately they closed down between the time we got our first dog to the second one. Shamrock ranch is the place we went too for 1500$ they worked wonders. This place just leaves you feeling ripped off. 4k$ for nothing to show except a poorly trained dog...is an actual scam. The kicker...we were told we would need to keep the e collar on him for the next 1.5 years. How come my other dog never needed an e collar?!? I'm disgusted I didn't trust my gut when I got that feeling of being pushed into the whole "he won't be trained correctly if you don't keep him there for the extra week". Meanwhile my dog was being abused. Feel free to reach out to me for a more in depth explanation of our nightmare of an experience. My pit mix, Hazel came into my life after spending some time alone on the streets of Bakersfield…read moreand then getting placed on the euthanasia list at the local shelter. Whatever trauma she endured there started showing itself through fear-based aggression toward humans; after trying on my own to address the behavior, both Hazel and I were stressed, frustrated and scared. I realized I needed professional help and I wanted it to be provided by an educated, dedicated trainer who came from a place of empathy. Tiffany fit that description perfectly. From the moment of our first Zoom "audition," I could tell she was no nonsense: she could train Hazel, but it would also take work, honestly and dedication from me, as well. Prior to drop off, I was provided with specific directions, a handbook and easy to follow instructions on exactly how the training would go. The minute I dropped off Hazel with Tiffany, my heart felt hopeful for the first time in months. Hazel immediately recognized Tiffany as a kindred spirit who commanded respect but made sure her first job was to connect with my dog. From there, I was receiving daily, lengthy updates that included videos describing what/how she was training as well as lectures that provided guidance I could follow once she came home. The part that made me realize I had made the right decision was that, within a couple of days, Tiffany had identified Hazel's root issues that were leading to her aggression and adjusted her training accordingly. It was amazing to watch her with Hazel: her focus, her calm, quiet demeanor and Hazel's response to her: trust. Once Hazel came home, the real work started and Tiffany is available 24/7 the first 72 hours and then available during her normal work hours for the life of your dog. That's an incredible commitment for what you're paying to know that your dog is in the best hands possible. I can't speak highly enough of Tiffany (and her sweet husband). I've been an animal person my whole life and there is no one else I'd recommend to help you connect more and understand any issues or behaviors your dog might be experiencing. Thank you, Tiffany.

Tiffany and For the Love of Dog has been nothing short of transformative for both me as a dog owner…read moreand for my dog. I was fortunate enough to book a month long board and train with Tiffany for my dog, who was a pandemic pup who had some medical trauma that robbed us of important foundational training time when he was a puppy. He's a strong guy as an adult and I was having a lot of trouble instilling training into him since he was not a food motivated dog, especially when it came to walking on a leash. He'd pulled me off my feet a few times and I knew I needed a professional to really help me become the best and safest dog owner I could for him. Working with Tiffany and For the Love of Dog doesn't just instill amazing training in your dog, but educates you as the owner in ways I didn't even realize was possible. I feel so much more prepared and educated now, through Tiffany's training, her educational videos, her to-the-minute updates on my Dog's progress and how she teaches--both the dogs and the human owners. She breaks down everything in such easy to follow ways and her insight on behavior, both dog and human owner behavior is nothing short of brilliant. I also know I can reach out to her at any time for any hurdles we encounter and will receive her insight and knowledge, which is worth its weight in gold. She quickly identified not only my mixed dog's breed (the genetic test totally confirmed everything she said!) but the underlying anxiety that he felt. The month he spent with her has transformed him from an anxious worrier with deep feelings who would pull me off my feet on walks to a calm dog who knows he can do hard work and that I'll be beside him to help as we tackle any new situations. The difference in him is profound: he's calm, he's walking on a loose leash, he's happily obeying commands and he's more confident in his place in the world and in our little pack of three. And I feel so much more prepared and understand him on a deeper level through Tiffany's insight, education and help. If you've got a pup facing a hard problem or anxious behavior or any issue at all, invest the time and money into Tiffany's training. You will be so thankful--and so will your dog! I cannot recommend her enough. This experience has strengthened my bond with my dog, educated me as a long-time dog owner and introduced an order into our lives that has truly changed it for the better.

That decision saved his life. Zack has some unique medical challenges, and I knew going in this might not be straightforward. Dr. Wilson took the time to fully assess him, consulted with UC Davis, and came back with a clear, workable plan while still giving me options. I never felt rushed or pushed in one direction. The entire team was incredible. They encouraged me to visit, kept me updated morning and night, and I always knew how Zack was doing. I could tell he was being cared for not just medically, but emotionally. He's a very social cat, and it meant a lot to know he wasn't alone back there. What stood out most to me was how much everyone genuinely cared about him. One of the staff at the front desk told me she wished she could just go back and cuddle him all day, and when I spoke with one of the doctors later, she mentioned that people had been asking about him and wanted to know how he was doing. That meant more to me than I can say. Emergency vet care is expensive and stressful, and I know that's where a lot of negative reviews come from. But in my experience, this team was compassionate, skilled, and deeply invested in my cat's outcome. Zack is home now, recovering and very much himself again. I'm incredibly grateful to Dr. Wilson and the entire team.

Ollie was eventually euthanized -- and he should have been that day. Instead, their decision to refuse care prolonged his suffering, during which his condition worsened and he developed pneumonia on top of the illness he was already battling. That outcome was entirely preventable. What hurts the most is knowing his pain was extended unnecessarily. This clinic had the chance to show compassion and failed. Their silence afterward only reinforces that they do not take responsibility for the harm their decisions cause.
