If I could give half a star for the Grooming Department - I would. Took my dog today for an appointment at 9am and since we were due to be at an event for my sons birthday an hour away, asked if I could drop him off at 8:30 when making the appointment and I was told that was no problem. Skip to today for my appointment...I arrived and no one was in the grooming station so I pressed the button that said "press here for assistance" and waited and nothing. Pressed it again a few minutes later and waited and nothing. Then, a cashier from the front of the store comes in and asked if I had an appointment and I said that I did and was told that I could drop my dog off early. He then went to go find someone who worked in the grooming department and they came in saying that they didn't open until 9 and that she had to get the computers "turned on and ready to go". I said I'd not be waiting because I was already over it and her attitude was less than welcoming. My wife decided to go back in and take him and the groomer told her this time that "because my dog was in the system as a Boxer mix" that he'd have to be picked up immediately following his appointment 45 minutes after we dropped him off. Again, we had tickets to an event for my sons birthday which is why we asked to drop our dog off early in the first place. Anyway, she told us that because he was a "Boxer mix" that they had breathing issues and they weren't allowed to be crated in the back. 1) That is the furthest thing from the truth as I've seen Boxer mixed dogs there before. 2) Our dog had been going to that location for the last 3 years. We ended up having to go back home with our dog because they refused to take our dog and provide the service we had scheduled and have had done for THREE YEARS. Don't waste your time with this location. They are always rude and never accommodating. read more

It might sound like a commercial, but PetSmart is the first name that comes to mind when I think of getting something for my cat. He only gets the best, which means I have to go to a [usually pricier] specialty store to find his food. I particularly like this location. Fairly easy to get in and out of, though other places in this parking lot can be more difficult to get to. I always get a parking spot up close. Like all locations, they're huge inside. Probably half of the store is dedicated to cat and dog food. Unlike other locations, they've stuck all of their fish, bird and reptile stuff in the back. They know the money is with the cat and dog business. Cat adoption is up front, though it's not quite spring so not many kittens there. Dog training and grooming is right up front. Things are pricey. My cat's Science Diet is $30+ for the big bag. They have a sort of card program called Pet Perks which gives random discounts from time to time on different things. Doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to me, but I take what I can get. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Checkout can definitely be a bit slow sometimes. read more

Brand new Petsmart location in the Carolina Place plaza at South Boulevard and I-485. I believe they simply relocated from across the way, but who cares? That one is closed, this one is open. Hooray. All the usual stuff for dogs, cats, birds and fish on sale here including pet food, treats, beds, carrying cases, medications and grooming tools. I sent my very large livestock guardian dog for grooming to this Petsmart. My dog is very smart, somewhat reluctant, but generally very good, and can easily be won over with treats. We paid over $110 and the dog was bathed and her nails were trimmed. The hair on the pads of her paws was not trimmed, and it doesn't seem like much else was done beyond a basic bath. The groomer complained about the dog being strong and básica said not to bring her back except on certain days. Actually, I won't bring her back there ever. My 11 yr old bathes the dog at home all the time. I had extra money and wanted her taken care of by a professional. The only aspect of the situation I'm happy with is that her nails were sufficiently trimmed. For $110+. I will hire an individual professional who likes my dog next time. read more

I took my dog cookie dough to pet smart for grooming and they cut her foot front and back lied to my face about incident and I paid for services took my dog to veterinarian right away and my veterinarian confirmed they cut her while trimming nails and I couldn't get manager to report issues I had to pay 140.00 for veterinarian and she has to put ointment 2 times a day from being cut by pet smart workers clearly incompetent PLEASE DONT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO GET GROOMED read more

Nina that was helping us was very friendly and helpful with our questions! They had a good selection and we ended up getting about 10 fishes. I took my 4month old puppy to only get a puppy bath extremely happy and loving when I dropped him off .. when I returned which was in 30mins which I thought to be very STRANGe he had a scary and super sad look on his face . Which was not Like him as soon as we get in the car every time I went to touch him he waS in sooo much pain on top that he was drolling from the mouth and wouldn't walk nothing .. I ended up calling there asking whaT happen to my puppy they advised me nothing which I knew that couldn't have been true it was so bad it had me in tears .. I finally was able to speak to the store manager who was nice and understanding I will say I eNded up taking him to the vet and he stayed overnight the vet. (She made sure the bill was covered ) test was ran which was fine but she did confirm his neck was very sore and she's not sure what could have happened but advised me to follow up on looking at the tape . I'm not sure what happened but my dog is all the way healthy not sure what happened but the bad reviews r true do NOt take your dog to be groomed heRe .. I don't use them, but when I was in today I watched a male groomer (grooming a small little black dog) grab his face several times bc the dog was yelping while being groomed. I'm sure this a tough job but there was no reason for him to grab that dog the way he did over and over again. I did complain. I'm not sure if it helped though bc it was not my dog. read more

I went to Petsmart on Wednesday, January 6,2021, I bought 20 goldfish for 16 cents, 5 bigger goldfish for $2.99 and 2 algae eaters for $3 or $4. Today is January 8,2021, came home from work and everything in the tank was DEAD!!! I have been dealing with a fish tank for the 20years. Never in my life, ever I seen this happened. I bought fish from them before and this never happened. They are slack with taking care of fish. Their was lots of dead goldfish on the bottom of the tank. And the guy didn't put on any gloves to handle the fish. Your fingers carry bacteria on it. That is why you never touch the water with your hand. So he killed all my fish. I will never go to them again. I am calling them first thing in the morning. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!! I signed up for puppy training here. My ultimate goal is to get my blue nose pit bull certified as an emotional support dog. I signed him up in Dec, Alex was amazing. However she put in her 2 week notice and it all went downhill from there. We were told it would only effect us for 1 week. Well week 2, I get a phone call on Tuesday at 6:30 PM. Mind you, our class is suppose to be Tuesdays at 6:00 PM. The new trainer called to let me know she had NO IDEA she had a class on Tuesdays and if I was still interested to taking the class??? Needless to say, I was baffled! I called corporate and they had the store manager call me. All she did was blame it on Alex the old trainer.. HOWEVER, it is a store managers job to make sure classes are transitioned properly. How does a manager not tell the new trainer what classes were on schedule???? She told me to come in the following week on Tuesday. Well, the day of the class, I get a call from the branch manager stating she was sick and this class was going to be canceled. She said the trainer would call me and schedule a 1 on 1 to make this up. I reminded her this is the 3rd week in a row, we don't have a class. Finally, yesterday I show up for class. Only to find out the trainer was sick yet again. This time no one called me. The manager on site said the trainer told them that she called everyone before she left. At this point I demanded a refund and completely canceled my classes. I have literally wasted a month of precious time waiting for this store to get their stuff together. Please don't waste your time or your pups. Find somewhere else to go where they will take your goals seriously!! read more

I use the groomers here every month. They are always very nice, and do a consistent job on my pup. The store is clean? And I was able to get help when I had some questions about dog products. I have been approached a few times in the parking lot by wandering people asking for money, which is a lil annoying. read more

I've returned a faulty leash in the past without any issue. Instead of the same brand I got a King brand. This leash is only 1 year old and already broken. I tried to contact the manager about returning the item for a new one in hopes I'd receive the same level of customer service. Unfortunately, a manager by the name of Amy suggested I have the original receipt and informed me they are unable to do a lookup in the system. I explained to her I was hoping to get the leash replacement so I can walk my dog. She didn't have any other suggestions than the original receipt and I expressed my dissatisfaction and she hung up on me. I also spoke to the corporate office and they said receipts can be found via Pet Perks numbers. They didn't have any issue looking it up in the system. Brought our fur baby to get Bath/Haircut/Nail Trim. Made an Appointment online 3 days in advance and dropped her off a few minutes early. Went into the Grooming Salon and was greeted promptly but not friendly. After speaking with the staff for several minutes at the desk, Taylor turned out to be our Groomer, I only knew his name because I had to ask. Our appt. was at 11:30. Went back 3 HOURS later and he had JUST Given her a bath. She was locked in a Kennel the whole time almost 3 hrs before anyone even touchied her. While bathing her, Taylor did inform us our dog had a non serious medical issue and recommended the Vet on site. He said as long as the Vet cleared her, he would finish cutting her hair/nails. The Vet got us in quick, (20 minutes total in and out)and gave the OK to finish the Grooming. Went back to the Grooming Salon and Taylor was gone! Instead of staying to finish what he said, the little Turd abandoned his responsibility. I was told to reschedule the next day because no one was available, (Translation; no one WANTED to take care of the Customer) and I would receive a discount. I didn't want a discount, I wanted my Dog's haircut. That's why I made the appointment for THAT day, Ding dongs. I was warned about taking your dog here...granted the Vet & Tech at Banfield were terrific, but the Grooming Salon has very immature staff and will only groom your dog if you don't inconvenience them...... If you care about your pet the way we do, go anywhere but a PetSmart. Avoid these Clowns. Never again. read more

First the selection was very nice there and overall the store looks better than their old location. With that said, they have some of the rudest employees there i have ever dealt with. My last visit I decided to ask about setting up a new fish tank and the guy in the fish section Will is probably the worst employee I have ever dealt with. Started with talking down to me about what I was looking for and then after I had walked away to get some dog food I overheard him talking about how stupid I was for not knowing about fish. Mostly I can say i have enjoyed this store but it seems the last few times I have gone there the staff seems so upset with having to help people. Its just too much. read more

I had a wonderful experience in the store on South Blvd today. I have a little dog who had surgery yesterday. Her vet reccomeded a food I couldn't find. I wasn't informed it was prescription only. I met Steven in the dog food section and he asked what I was frantically searching for. He googled the food my vet ordered (with his personal cell!), and found a product similar by looking at ingredients of several products. He even explained what the differences in food meant for my dog. He really went above and beyond!! I was so pleased and I am so THANKFUL! I really hope this young man gets recognition for truly taking care of his customer. I am completely wowed by his knowledge and dedication to the job and products! Took my dogs to the 9515 South Blvd. location to get nails trimmed and for one dog to get the anal glands cleaned. I paid for 3 services but they only did the nail grinding. I had requested trimming but they did the nail grinding which is more expensive. I understand it was probably easier to do the grinding because of their dark nails but I am annoyed at paying $10 for the additional service which they did not do. They also should have discussed with me that they were gonna do the nail grinding instead of nail trimming. read more
